Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
rated 2 of 5

This is a very strange foundation in that it at first goes on matte/dry, but a couple of hours down the road and it turns into a grease pit. I gave it two lippies for the color multitude of color choices.

Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Luminous Silk Foundation

I have been on a search for the perfect foundation for many months now and have found quite a few that I really liked but there was always something wrong with the color. It was either too yellow, too pink, light/dark, or thick/heavy. Well now I have finally found one that has it all. If I am being honest, this one didn't out perform, outlast, or look any better/natural than the others I have tried. The thing that makes this rise above all the others I have tried,is that I have found the perfect color match for my neutral skin tone, as well as one that is not to sheer, not too heavy, and is just a nice lightweight, med. coverage foundation that matches my skin tone. It is as if I took one great quality from all the foundations I have tried and merged them into one. I also really like GA face fabric for when I want a sheerer more casual look. I am around NC25( more neutral than warm) and found #5 to be my best match. GA face fabric in #2.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
rated 2 of 5
Jewels1416 6/4/2008 3:58:00 PM

Thank goodness that I got some samples of this and didn't buy the full product because I hated this foundation. Now, I am not a fan of med/full coverage foundation and that is why I thought hmm, a light double wear foundation, who wouldn't like a foundation that is light but wears like iron. However, this is NOT a light foundation, to me it is more of med. coverage that is hard to spread/blend and dried to a dull, flat finish. It made me look so much older than I am.The color choice is poor as well, #1 was to light yellow, and #2 was too orange. I gave it two lippies because it does stay and not wear off, but overall I feel that there are so many other better choices of 'light' foundations than this one. If you are young and have oily skin then maybe this would be a good choice, but not what I am looking for in a foundation at all.

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Inspired By Carmindy Natural Beauty Your Skin Makeup ] [DISCONTINUED]

This was just and OK foundation for me, nothing special. I did find a good color match with the nude beige(NC25ish)but for me it was hard to blend and dried quickly making it even harder to blend. It is definitely more of a med. to fuller coverage foundation which I am trying to get away from and go with a more shear coverage, (Think MUFE face and body, or GA face fabric)especially since summer is here and I live in blazing hot Texas! Anyways, it not a bad foundation, pretty decent in fact for the amount of money, just not what I am looking for!

Foundations -Giorgio Armani - Face Fabric Second Skin Nude Makeup
rated 5 of 5
Jewels1416 5/19/2008 6:32:00 PM

This is one of those foundations that you will either hate because of the sheer coverage or love it because of the sheer coverage. It totally depends on what you are looking for in a foundation. Me, I am 40ish and can not stand to have heavier foundations migrate into fine lines and basically just make me look older. I have pretty decent skin, but I do need something to even me out a bit. I am willing to let my minor imperfections show through if it gives me a more natural look and that is exactly what this does. It is perfect for summer, or no fuss make-up days! I am trying to more and more to get away from foundations and this is the perfect transition to that end. Stay away if you are looking for anything more than a a sheer foundation, or you will be very disappointed! For ref. I am an NC20/25 and #2 was a good match. #3 was warmer, but way to dark for me.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation

This is it for me, no more looking for foundations and what a relief it is! I have recently come to find some decent foundations after not being able to find anything , but definitely not HG material. Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown luminous foundations were close, but this one blows them out of the water. I just love how you can layer this on and never have it cake on you. The SA at sephora's told me that this is the ONLY foundation in the whole store that they don't recommend using a foundation brush or a sponge for. He told me to just start in one area and pat in with fingers until almost dry and then blend with downward strokes, then move on to the next area. Then repeat only in the areas that need more coverage. I have found doing it this way gives me a natural, flawless finish! I have combo. skin, and I do need to blot half-way through the day, but this is true with any foundation I have tried. I like that it is waterproof/sweatproof, especially since I live in south/central Texas and need something that won't melt off. I am NC 20-25 and found #20 ivory to be my best match, although I wish it were a tad darker, but since this is so shear I can get away with it, especially if I use a bronzer. I tried #32 which was too dark/tan, and #2 was to dark/pink. I think 32 would be a great match for NC 30 gals. Give it a try!

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Luminous Moisturizing Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Jewels1416 5/7/2008 5:53:00 PM

In general, I am not a huge Bobbi Brown fan, but I do like some of her pot rouges and gel liners. When I went to order them from her site I got to pick out three shades of the luminous foundation as samples to try out. I wasn't expecting much and certainly wasn't expecting to like this BB foundation, but I was very pleasantly surprised! This gives me a soft glow that my 40+ skin needs, doesn't accent fine lines or pores, and just looks like I have healthy, glowing skin. I definitely will repurchase and *may* become my HG...will update! For Ref. I am NC25 and usually wear warm sand in other BB foundations, but I have to get beige in this...apparently this runs lighter than her other foundations. Update, while this is still a nice foundation, I have since found a couple of others (mufe face and body, and GA face fabric)that I like much better, less heavy, and a better match to my skintone.

Sunscreen -Prescriptives - All-Weather Friend Daily UVA/UVB Sun Protection SPF 40
rated 5 of 5
Jewels1416 4/10/2008 5:45:00 PM

I gave up on finding a sunscreen and went without ( I can hear the skin care board gasping now!)until I found this little gem! I have super sensitive skin and this does not bother it one bit. Believe me when I say I have tried many, MANY sunscreens. Drugstore, Euro(which cost dearly when ordering online because of shipping costs), Asian, chemical, physical you name it, I tried it...and very poor! They were either too greasy or too drying, but this is just perfect for combo. skin. It is so light that you can't feel it on, doesn't leave any white cast and my makeup doesn't cake up underneath it. Perfection at last!

Powder -Make Up For Ever - Duo Mat Powder foundation
rated 5 of 5
Jewels1416 6/23/2007 3:05:00 PM

I thought that I found my HG foundaton with Laura Mercier's mineral foundation, but this is my new favorite of all the powders that I have tried, and believe me I have tried many. The color 202 is the best match that I have found in a foundation. I put it on using my LM blending brush, that I used to use for her minerals and it goes on smooth and even with decent coverage...I don't need much, but I just needed a nice powder to put over my sunscreen to tone down the shine and this fits the bill perfectly. LOVE IT! For reference, I am real sand and rose ivory in Laura Mercier, MUFE lift foundation #2 ivory and supposedly around NC25/30. Highly recommend!

Powder -Laura Mercier - Mineral Powder SPF 15
rated 5 of 5

Count me in as another person that just LOVES this mmu. For reference I am NC 20/25 and real sand is a dead on match for me. I feel like goldilocks, because I have tried so many mineral foundations...they were either to shiney, to matte, or wrong color...this one is just right. It has a nice satin finish, not shiney nor matte, just perfect. It has great coverage so you don't have to keep layering it on and so NO CAKINESS! At last I have finally found my HG mineral make-up!! UPDATE: I love this stuff the more I use it! My skin has never looked better, so much so that my daughter took notice and bought some for herself in tendre rose and today she got complimented on her skin!! LOVE IT!

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Jewels1416 3/13/2007 6:04:00 PM

I got a sample of this in Rose Ivory, tried it, and the next day I was back and purchasing the full tube. I have been wearing it a full week now with no bad reactions at all. Like others have mentioned it gives you that flawless look and the best thing is, is that I don't have to conceal much of anything after I am done appling it! Simply wonderful!! EDIT11/13/07 I am still loving this foundation, and that is saying something because I never, ever stick to just one foundation, but these days this is all I have been reaching for. It took some playing around with to get the right amount down, a little goes a very long way and if you use to much it will get cakey and masky looking fast. I just dot around my face and tap/blend with a dry sponge.

Primer/ Corrector -Philosophy - the supernatural poreless flawless spf 15
rated 3 of 5
Jewels1416 12/21/2006 2:48:00 PM

When my husband complements me on my make-up, which he NEVER does or even notices for that matter, I know that I have found a true winner. I have been trying primer after primer, believe me when I say that I have tried them all. I finally got my hands on this, which was not easy because it is sold out everywhere. I figured I would be another 30 dollars poorer and it would be in my make-up reject bag collecting dust like all the others. I was so surprised and delighted at how easy this went on. I am very pale and the peachy tint dried down to a nice semi-matte clear look. I was afraid it would be too dark, but it blended perfectly. Truthfully, it blurred the fine lines and pores much like the other primers that I have tried, but what sent this one over the top was that I was having problems getting my mineral make-up to stick on top of the primer and I didn't have any problems with this. It glided on with great coverage AND it has SPF...can't ask for more! Thanks philosophy!! EDIT: 11/13/07 I have since found a better primer, BE prime time. The supernatural also seemed to turn orange on me as the day wore on.
