If you are looking for a black shadow packed with glitter, this is not the eye shadow for you. However, if you want a beautifully pigmented and blendable charcoal with subtle sparkles, then you probably won't find anything better than Illamasqua's Machine. I first tried Illamasqua's eye shadows a few months after the brand got going. Initially, I was unimpressed with the formula so I swapped away what I had and held off buying more. Luckily, I decided to give them another chance a few weeks ago, and I'm really glad I did! Out of the 3 shadows I purchased this one is definitely my favourite. The formula is beautiful - extremely pigmented but silky smooth and a joy to blend. I find that matte shadows can be difficult to work with, particularly darker shades but this is not so with Machine. Machine is a rich, deep charcoal shade with a smattering of silver sparkle. The sparkle isn't very noticeable when used dry, but use it wet and the micro glitter comes to life. My favourite use for this particular eye shadow is to mix it with Illamasqua sealing gel and use it to create a beautiful cat eye liner. Although this eye shadow looks very dramatic in the pan, use it with a light hand and the results can be as subtle as you please. I often use a tiny amount to add a bit of depth to my crease colour. Overall, this is an eye shadow I know I will use time and time again. If you haven't already purchased it, what are you waiting for??!!
This is one of the only Illamasqua products I have been disappointed in, but I really hated it. The only good thing I can say about it is that the colour range is fantastic and it perfectly matched my very pale, neutral warm leaning skin. The packaging was flimsy and the compact broke within a few weeks. I wouldn't mind, but it wasn't as if I was carrying it around in my handbag every day, it just sat in my make-up bag! The main problem, however, is that it offers almost no coverage. I bought this on a whim after my studio fix ran out. I have loved every other Illamasqua product I've tried so thought I would give their powder foundation a try - big mistake! It was useless at covering my blemishes and evening my skintone, and wasn't very long lasting either. I was expecting something comparable to studio fix powder plus foundation, but I wouldn't recommend this product to anybody. If you're looking for a great powder foundation, go with studio fix and don't waste your money on this awful product!
This palette is fantastic! All matte bright shades in every colour you could possibly need. The shadows themselves are great quality and blend easily. I haven't had problems with fallout or chalkiness. I use UDPP and NYX jumbo pencil in milk before using these shadows. Just today i created a lovely sunset eye.
I adore this product! It's perfect for a quick fix when you don't have time to do a full make-up. It evens my skin tone out perfectly as well as covering any blemishes i may have. Yes, it does need touching up every now and again, but it's still a great product. I use shade NC15 and it suits my fair neutral-warm skin perfectly. If i want my skin to look perfect, i use a liquid foundation (usually colourstay) then finish with this. I know this is a bit too much product for some people, but I really love the finish. It is a bit pricey but well worth it for a quality product that lasts a long time.

I absolutely love this palette! It surpassed all my expectations. The shadows and blushes are all highly pigmented and beautifully smooth. The range of colours is fantastic with pinks, golds, corals, purples, taupes and browns. I'd definitely recommend purchasing this palette if you're looking to get a bunch of eyeshadows and blushes all at once. You can't go wrong for the price!
