Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Renpure Organics Moisturizing Shampoo
Jennifer36j 5/6/2010 9:29:00 AM
I have no issue with the shampoo (or the matching conditioner). I've used both the green bottle and the red bottle. They smell nice, the price is reasonable, and they are fine on my hair. To be honest, my hair is not very picky (I have short, fine, thin-ish hair) and most stuff works well on it. It's my scalp that's picky. This is why I stick with sulfate free products. My major problem with this stuff is the packaging. The bottles are very awkward and it's hard to get the product out, especially after it's more than 1/2 way used. The middle of the bottle sort of collapses in on itself and you can't squeeze it easily. Plus, the top/lid is rounded, so you can't turn the bottle upside down. For this reason alone, I won't buy this anymore.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser
Jennifer36j 4/20/2010 1:32:00 PM
Foaming? Either I got a bad package, but this stuff does the opposite of foam. I pump some into my hands and rub them together, then on my face. The stuff just disappears. There's no foam or really any cleanser left. I don't find that it cleanses very well or removes MU (esp. eyeliner) very well. It's a bit drying, but nothing I can't handle. The smell is kind of unpleasant, but again, I could live with it if the product actually worked.

Crème -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless
Jennifer36j 6/1/2009 10:36:00 AM
*sigh* I should have listened to MUA. I bought this in the lightest shade, which appeared to be a good match. When I put it on, it was way too light - and I am a ver pale person. I don't even know how to put it into words, but I just didn't like this at all. The packaging is pretty awkward, too. It is counter intuitive and it's definitely made for right handed people. I have never returned MU before - I usually suck it up as my own mistake, but for $15, I took this back. And I wasn't willing to take a chance on a different shade.

Liquid -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
Jennifer36j 4/23/2008 12:00:00 PM
I bought this about a week ago on a whim because I was looking for something w/ a little more coverage than my usual TM. Pregnancy hormones have my skin all broken out and red looking. I tried this, and I really like it. It gives nice sheer coverage, doesn't look or feel heavy, and seems to last. It has not broken me out at all. I liked the variety of color options, and I was smart enough to try each of them on my hand to see what worked best. So far so good, especially for the price.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - AmLactin 12%
Jennifer36j 7/19/2007 11:42:00 AM
This is my first week on this. I bought it to help with ingrown hairs. For background, I have terrible ingrowns, and I get them even in places where I don't shave (like my arms). I am a picker, so I need to prevent them, otherwise, I pick and make my arms and legs look terrible. So, I've tried several other products most don't do much for me. So far, this is working well. It's a light lotion that goes on easily. I see other people complain about the stickiness, but I don't think it's that bad. At least the sticky feeling doesn't last all day like some other products (I'm talking to you Dove Pro-Age). This has made my skin very soft and smooth. As of this time, I'm reserving judgment on the effect it has on ingrowns. I'll update in a few weeks. Update: Definitely the best stuff I've tried. I had to go off it for 2 weeks (dont' ask), and I noticed the difference, both in softness and ingrowns. I will definitely keep using this and keep buying.

Lotions/ Creams -Dove - Pro Age Beauty Body Lotion
Jennifer36j 5/21/2007 8:16:00 AM
I was really surprised to see Clairlily's review of this lotion. My first thought when I put the lotion on was "wow, what a nice, light, pretty scent". I like the texture of the lotion and don't find it sticky at all. If you think Dove is sticky, don't go any where near the Eucerin lotion w/ AHA. The Dove is easy to smooth on and absorbs quickly. I can't judge the AHA properties just yet, since I've only been using it for a few days. I am hoping the AHA helps with my severe ingrown hair problem. I'll update in a few weeks. Update: it's a few weeks later. I still like this lotion. I try to use it every day on arms and legs. It had cut down the # of ingrown hairs, but it hasn't completely gotten rid of them. Sometimes the stickiness bothers me, but it's bearable. And, my skin is soft and smooth. Finaly update: I have decided that I will not buy this product again. My legs have a ton of ingrown hairs, even though I've dilligently used the lotion every day. And, I'm tired of the sticky feeling. So, I've moved on.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Dry Skin Therapy PLUS Intensive Repair Lotion
Jennifer36j 5/19/2007 7:53:00 AM
I tried the lotion in the hope that the AHA would help with ingrown hairs on my legs. It is super thick and doesn't spread very easily. Usually, two pumps are plenty for one leg, but I needed 4 or 5 of this. Plus, it had this sticky quality that was really unappealing. It sat on top of my skin and just felt sticky. It was moisturizing, and did good things for my heels, but that;s about it. Honestly, I can't even say whether this worked to prevent ingrowns, becuase It was too unpleasant to use every day, and I just gave up on it.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner
Jennifer36j 11/21/2006 8:19:00 AM
First, a bit of background. The first time I bought this, it was based on the recommendations of MUA. I liked the color (raisin) and the staying power, but I hated the crayon/pencil part. The stuff was really hard to put on - I had to really scrub it back and forth. I didn't really like doing that on my eyelid, but I figured the hardness had something to do with the lasting nature of this eyeliner. In fact, I had to work it so hard, I broke the crayon off several times, thereby wasting a ton of product. Well, when the liner was gone, I went to replace it. At first, I wanted to buy another brand, but they didn't have the color I wanted, so I bought another Revlon Color Stay eyeliner. This one is totally different from the first one, it goes on smoothly and easily. I love this. Apparently, I got a bad product the first time. So, now that I've experienced the true version of the eyeliner, I am really impressed.

Styling Products -TiGi - Catwalk Root Boost
Jennifer36j 8/3/2006 10:13:00 AM
I love this stuff. I got a recommendation from someone on the Cafe board, and I thought I would give it a shot. I have super fine, super thin, light, short, straight hair. It doesn't hold a style at all. So I thought I would try this (dispite the 50/50 reviews) and WOW. It gives my hair some volume, it doesn't fall during the day. No white flakes like some people complained about. I run my fingers through my hair to lift it, spray the roots with a small amount, blow dry for 30 seconds, then style. I'm really happy with this product. I thought it was a little bit expensive when I bought it, but I'd pay more, now that I see what it can do.

Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Skin Smoothing Body Lotion SPF 15
Jennifer36j 9/27/2005 10:26:00 AM
I really like this lotion. I have a real problem with ingrown hairs on my legs and arms. I have been using this everyday for a few weeks. After about 2 weeks I noticed a definite improvement. I'm not a huge fan of the smell, but I got used to it after a few days. I have already bought my second bottle, even though it's a bit pricey. It's worth the $. Prior to buying this, I used the homemade tendskin (aspirin, witch hazel, alcohol) with very limited results. Love this stuff! Now, if I could just get DH to try it on his KP...

Cleansers -Kiehls - Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser
Jennifer36j 5/2/2005 10:50:00 AM
I really like this cleanser. I bought it after having a good experience with the Blue Herbal Toner. It feels good on my face, and I like the tingly/minty feel. I like that I only need a small amount to wash my face. When I first bought this, I was using in at night only and using a scrub in the morning. I had some breakouts, so I am now using the Kiehl's twice a day. My skin looks even better. It's not overly drying nor does it leave my skin oily. I would have given the Cleanser 5 lippies, but the price takes away (a bit) from the overall value. I love the stuff and would buy it again. It makes me want to try other Keihl's products.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Paves No Sulfates Allowed Repairing Shine Shampoo
Jennifer36j 4/19/2005 8:56:00 AM
I love this shampoo. I first heard about it in O magazine. I have a very itchy scalp and thought this might work. I have tried many other products to deal with the itch, and none were as good as Paves. I like the consistency and the smell. It doesn't lather as much as other shampoos, but that doesn't bother me at all. It leaves my thin/fine hair shiney and soft. My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is the design of the bottle. The twisty lid is sometimes difficult to use in the shower with wet hands. Other than that, I love this product and have bought it many times (and will continue to buy it).

Cleansers -Biore - Warming Deep Pore Cream Cleanser
Jennifer36j 3/24/2005 9:17:00 AM
I like this stuff. It's not great, but it's good. Frankly, I think it works as well as any other cleanser and/or scrub that I've used. I like the feeling of the warmth, but I wish it would last a bit longer. I don't think it's drying at all. It has not made me break out. I like it. A (kind of) funny side note - my husband tried it and didn't know it would get warm. When he put it on his hands and rubbed them together, the heat freaked him out so much that he rinsed the stuff of because he thought there was something wrong with it. Then he looked at the tube and saw that it was supposed to heat up.

Toners -Kiehls - Herbal Blue Astringent
Jennifer36j 3/24/2005 9:10:00 AM
I bought this for my husband after I heard that it reduces shaving irritation. He loves it. He uses it on his face after he shaves (he shaves every other day). His skin looks great and he has had no irritation. I have used it after shaving underarms and hair removal on bikini area. I have found that it greatly reduces shaving irritation. I love it and will definitely buy it again.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
Jennifer36j 2/2/2005 10:20:00 AM
I bought this based upon reviews and comments posted at MUA. I really like QHMJM as a spot treatment. I haven't made up my mind as to its quality as a mask. I have been using it at night to spot treat small pimples, and they are gone when I wake up in the morning. I had a big, ugly, gross pimple that had to be squeezed (I know, I know), but I put a thick layer of QHMJM on the spot overnight, and the next morning, it looked much better. I think the QHMJM really helped to speed up the healing. I would buy this again - especially for the price (I got a giant tube for $4.28).
