Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator
JenniAdventure 1/19/2013 3:36:00 PM
A friend gave me a bunch of samples of the Even Skintone Illuminator to help me with my uneven skin tone and dark red acne scars on my chin. I've been using it for about 2 weeks in the morning before I put on my makeup. CON: I normally have pretty dry skin, especially around my nose, cheeks and chin. Since using the serum I haven't had any dryness issues...I've actually been dealing with oiliness towards the end of the day. I don't know if this is just what "normal" skin is like but I'm not sure if I like it just yet. This could also be due to the foundation that I use, though. (MAC Studio Sculpt) PROS: It does have "shimmer" but it's not cheap looking shimmer. It gives my skin a nice dewy look that I really like. Also, I do like that it has smoothed out the appearance of my skin after only 2 weeks of use. I know I haven't really used it long enough yet to notice any changes with my acne scars, which is the main reason why I'm using it. Although I have been dealing with oily appearance by the end of the day, I'll keep using it to see if it helps with the scarring.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
JenniAdventure 1/19/2013 3:23:00 PM
I honestly cannot wear makeup without this product. I have what I can only describe as "oily eyelids" and nothing would keep my shadow on. People told me to use concealer but that didn't help. A friend gave me the travel size of this to try and I have NEVER been disappointed by the primer. Sometimes (when I'm being a terrible person) when I don't wash my makeup off at night, I wake up in the morning to still perfect eyeshadow. (I do NOT recommend sleeping in your makeup..) Totally worth it! I've never found anything like this product...because I stopped looking after I found it!

Nails -Revlon - Moon Candy

I was so very excited about this polish after I saw the ads (I suppose that's the point.) However, I was even more disappointed once I used it. I should have used common sense to realize that it wouldn't look exactly like it does in the ads, but this is just awful. I bought the color Satellite which is a pretty burgundy base color and pink sparkles. The base color is kinda pretty but the sparkles are a whole different story. It takes about 5 or 6 coats of sparkles to even look remotely like the ads and it still doesn't even look good. It just looks like cheap sparkles...way overpriced! Won't be buying and probably returning!

Shampoo -Phyto - Phytocitrus
JenniAdventure 9/30/2012 6:14:00 PM
Phyto is an amazing product line! It will work wonders for everyone's hair, I promise...as long as you use it as directed! Phyto is more like a prescription for your hair and must be used properly in order to ensure the best results. Phytocitrus is only to be used for the first 3 shampoos after a color service, NOT as a daily shampoo! When people start using Phyto, they complain of dryness a lot. This is normal, it's called the "Detox Period" meaning that it's removing all the waxes and residue that other shampoos leave on your hair, revealing what's really underneath (which is usually dry hair!) I never have problems with Phytocitrus lathering. The first shampoo is meant as the cleanser, it won't lather very much. But the 2nd shampoo usually lathers a lot! When I first started using it, I would use way too much! But leave the lather on for 2-3 minutes...it's also a treatment for your hair! All of that said, you really have to know how to use the Phyto line before you dive right in. Talk to a stylist who is familiar with the line and they will be able to prescribe the proper shampoo/treatment/mask for you!

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
JenniAdventure 9/3/2012 5:35:00 PM
i have fair skin with slight redness around the cheeks and a few acne scars that are typically easy to cover. i also have dry spots. i applied the bb cream on a clean, moisturized face and it was almost as if i wasn't putting anything on. not that i was expecting a miracle, i was just expecting SOMETHING. the only plus to using it was that it made my skin feel soft. kinda. not a fan, would rather spend a little more money on a quality product.

Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
JenniAdventure 6/30/2012 1:27:00 PM
Great package, has a mirror included. I like the blush color. I normally apply a lot of blush because I really love blush so I don't really have problems with the pigment that other people were talking about. The only problem I have is I bought it mainly for contouring and I don't know if it's just me applying it wrong (entirely likely!) but the bronzer doesn't blend well and just makes my face look dirty! Also, both the blush and the bronzer look like they have a lot of shimmer so probably not for you if you're looking for a matte finish. But I love E.L.F. and will practice my blending a little more! :)
