Cleansers -Chanel - Purifying Deep-Cleansing Foam, Rinse Off
Jen4L 12/22/2007 4:25:00 PM
I've used 2 tubes of these and it is a gentle yet very effective cleanser. With cleansers in the past I always notice makeup/impurity left on the cotton ball after I use it to apply toner. With this cleanser, my face is always clean and it never feels dry. It has a mild scent which I like. It contains micro-beads for exfoliation purposes, so rinse your face thoroughly so none of the beads will be left in your brows, etc. At $36-38 a tube (I think they recently raised the price) it's pretty expensive for a cleanser. But a little goes a long way. Between daily use by my husband and I one of these lasts us well over 6 months (if it's just me it'll last for over a year). I recently bought the Radiant Foaming cleanser also by Chanel and am loving it for the winter. I would recommend this cleanser for everyone but if you have very dry skin, try the Radiant version in the winter, it's fabulous.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blitz and Glitz
Jen4L 12/22/2007 4:09:00 PM
This is the 2nd gel liner I've used, my first being the Bobbi Brown Chocolate Shimmer which lasted me well over a year. In fact, I still have some BB left but it's pretty much dried out. So far I think the staying power of the Fluidline slightly exceeds that of BB (they're both excellent). I prefer the color range offered by BB 'cause I don't use alot of bold colors on my eyes. Overall, you can't go wrong with either one. The color of this gel liner is a black black with subtle glitters (you can hardly notice the glitter). I wouldn't call this a soft black though. Fluidline is ~$5 cheaper than BB, but for how long each pot lasts, IMO the price difference is insignficant. I got a tip from a makeup artist regarding these liners, and that is to turn the pot upside down in between dipping to prevent drying. I'll see if this pot stays fresh longer than my previous one.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - foundation semi-matte formula

I've been using this on and off for the last 6 months. Reason being I don't believe this is the best foundation out there but when I switch to something else (MAC recently), I would miss this foundation and come back to it. The thing I like the best about this foundation is that it's more natural (pure)compared to any other foudation out there (that I know of). It's got like 4 ingredients (1 of them is the sunscreen) compare to the 15-20 chemical names on the list of most of the liquid stuff. I definitely prefer this over Bare Escentuals, they made me itch the first few times until my skin got used to it and their price is alot higher (the starter set is a great deal for the brushes though). It has a pretty good staying-power and doesn't get onto your cothes like some liquid ones do. I'm 26 with normal and clear skin but I still need foundation to make it look more "flawless" - at least I try... In general I don't think mineral foundations blend and covers as well as liquid ones but for what it's worth, this foundation is a very decent product with a very reasonable price (quite inexpensive actually since it'll last you a while). I'm not a fan of their packaing but their helpful customer service makes up for that and more. I would repurchase this as a nice backup in my makeup collection, probably even after (if I ever) find my HG foundation.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - when hope is not enough replenishing cream
Jen4L 12/24/2006 10:19:00 AM
I've been using this cream every night for the last month. I'm 26 yo with normal skin. It's a very moisturizing cream and it absorbs into my skin very well. I like the smoothness my skin feels every morning. I lightly rub a decent amount of cream between my fingers before applying it all over my face. The first few times I find the cream balling up after I applied the cream, 'cause I was touching my face (trying to smooth it out) after applying it and I really disliked those residues. Now I just apply them all over and leave my face alone, no more balls! I've used a few night creams from Chanel (age delay and rectifiance) and Estee Lauder and I find this cream to provide similar results without the higher price. Overall an above average product and worth the money. However I'll most likely continue to search for my HG (holy grail) cream after this.
