Bronzers -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish - Golden Lariat

So I just got the MSF in Golden Lariat from the WW collection. I was kinda unsure weather to purchase at first but satisfied that I did! I am an NC 40 and thought this would be a little too dark for me. When I fianlly tried it , it came out to give me the perfect subtle summer glow. I love the blush part of the product. It gives me a glowing soft peachy/coral sheen. Very pigmented. The bronzer suits my tone perfectly and the highlight is shimmery with sublte yellow undertone. Golden Lariat is a product that I can see myself using year round as I am one to always have bronzer on and a soft peachy blush for work/school looks, and I know I will make great use of this once the warm weather starts getting closer. X-tra comments: only thing I do not like about this product is that it does not have a built in mirror. Also this product is huge, so I know it will last me a very long time!
I was curious as to how this brush would benefit me on applying foundation. I tried it once or twice and didn't like the end results. Yes you can achieve an even flawless look using this brush but felt that I had to keep stroking the foundation on my face to achieve it. Though I do continue to use the 109 when applying moisturizers and Makeup primer.
Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Italian Badger Buffer Brush Large
Jeii 2/1/2010 10:51:00 PM
This brush works amazing for me ! I use it to blend and buff in my liquid foundation. I find this brush to be very soft and dense. It's perfect ! I am considering to re-purchase another one for my cream blushes and to buff out my powder blushes as well. ; ) GREAT BUY !!
I just recieved my Coastal Scents HD foundation today. Seeing that you have no option but to try to match your "perfect" shade online I went ahead and chose 07. I have seen and read reviews on shade comparison. I mostly saw NC40 = 07. WRONG ! 07 is more of an NC42 close to NC44 in MAC foundations which I personally find a big differance comapared to NC40. I decided to try it out I found that it's a light to medium coverage foundation. Blends well but also saw that it takes a while for it to dry. Almost felt Like I was applyng a greasy moisturizer. I have oily skin and I already know this foundation is not suited for oily skin also if you have blemishes form previous acne to cover (like myself). I love the packaging but I will not bother to consider buying a lighter shade that will match me because of the extra moisture feel that I felt with this foundation formy oily skin. So not sure what to do with this bottle ( 07) it's a perfect shade for when get tanned in the summer but I would have to blot my face every now and then ; (
Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
Jeii 2/1/2010 10:10:00 PM
I recently purchased the Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily Skin in shade 310 (Warm Golden) . During the winter I am an NC37 in MAC foundations. I personally found the Revlon CS in Warm Golden to be the closest to my "winter" complextion. I must say that I LOVE the coverage it provides. It's medium, but very buildable. I also noticed that through out a works day, wearing this foundation, it does have a great stay on power & minimized the oils on T-zone ! I have tried MAC's Studio fix fluid and though I loved the coverage (To hide my blemishes) It did break me out around my jawline like crazy ! I find the Revlon CS does give me the amount of coverage as the MAC SFF did. And to top it off ...it hasn't broken me out ! ; ) I will definitely be purchasing this product again. I just wish they had more of an yellow undertone selection. But over all GREAT PRODUCT !
Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Synthetic Flat Top Multipurpose Brush
Jeii 10/22/2009 12:36:00 PM
I just recently purchased the Sonia Kushuk flat blusher brush last week..and I'M IN LOVE WITH IT !! I would eye ball it a few times not really paying mind to it until I decided to give it a go ! I first tried it with applying my blush (Stippling method) and it packed on the blush perfectly. But that is NOT the reason why I love this brush sooooo much. I went ahead the next day and used it to apply my MAC Studio Tech ( Swirling method ) and I was AMAZED on how effortlessly it blended and made my face look flawless !! The bristles are SUPER soft, has a full dense feel and from my own experience...they haven't fallen out from washing. I tried to apply MAC's Studio Tech with the 109..didn't like the end results (plus it kept shedding no matter how light you use it). I tried applying it with a wedge sponge or just my fingers (results were good) BUT....I finally found my "wonder" brush to apply my studio tech. If I could give 20 "Lip Beautifiers" I would but only 5 is allowed lol. Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Blusher Brush is a must have....No dissapointments here ! Loved it so much that I went ahead and purchased another one ! lol
I'm so glad I went ahead and purchased this MES from the style black collection ! The color is absolutely GORGEOUS ! I also went ahead and purchased Young Punk. But I think Gilt By Association has more of an advantage to do a "Day wear" as well and not just for a night out. It's a beautiful subtle black MES with golden shimmer/glitter. To make it more intense just add a black base before applying the MES wet. Such a pretty color, too bad it's L/E but I know I won't be using this too often so it should last me a VERY long time. ; )
I just recently purchased Young Punk MES from the Style Black collection. I wasn't too sure when I 1st saw it as I would debate on it every time I would head to the MAC counter. After viewing a couple of swatches I decided to give it go myself ! I adore the color !! A black eye shadow with a hint of cranberryish / purple glitter. This is perfect if your looking to really GLAM your eyes up for a night out. To give the shadow more umph...I use MAC shadestick in sharkskin (or any black cream / stick shadow of your preference ) as a base. Then wet the shadow (Young Punk b/c it can be used either wet or dry) already on the brush with fix + or water and apply to lid. Gives that EXTRA glam appeal !
My SUMMER must have !!!!!!!! I read plenty of reviews when the fragrance first made it's "spot light" 2-3 yrs ago. They were all sooooo positive that it had me curious to head to Macy's and test it out. Once I did.....I fell in love with Princess !!! It's a sweet subtle scent. A hint of vanilla and white chocalate with other scents. Many woman are a little skeptical about this fragrance because of the sweet scent to it they may feel that it might be too "young" for them to wear. I feel that it does have that "young" scent but with a class of sophiticated and earthy which tones down the sweet side of princess and can be used by women in the mid twenties and up. I even scented it on women in their early 50's which that shows that Princess is a very fun yet sophisticated scent !!!! I call this my "Summer Scent" simply because it's a very light fragrance that I feel it's perfect for the summer. I don't like to wear frangrances that are on the more "scenty" side in the summer for I feel that with the heat and a stronger scent will just give me a headache. So whenever the warm weather is coming near I make sure to grab my Princess.....I'm on my 3rd bottle already with no plans on stopping the count !
I'm still "testing the waters" with this one. Only tried it once so far. It's a very light water based gel-like formula. I did find it to take more time to absorb onto my skin as oppose to Smashbox photofinish primer. LG primer did not minimize the size of my pores but it soften my skin and did make my foundation blend in smoothly. It also controlled the shine on my T-zone which it's a plus ! It also does not contain silica which I love products that do but the downfall is that it makes me break out if worn too much. So therefor LG primer is great for my everyday use ! UPDATE : After all the other primers that I have used. did find this one to be my favorite ! I will be purchasing again !
Just purchased over the weekend and LOVE it ! I found my new mid-tone pink gloss. I use to wear NARS L/G in Turkish Delight but found it to be a little extra too nude for my complexion when worn over a nude L/S. Chihuahua gives me the right shade of pink to combine with a nude L/S. Combined gives me the nude look that I want to achieve yet with a hint of soft pink with out making my lips look completly pale and bright. I love NARS's gloss for the fact that it has an amazing stay on power and it's not over the top gooey !
LOVE love LOVE these two crease brushes !!! Another low end good purchase at the local drugstore ! I kept contemplating on "should I get the MAC 219 or just find another similar soft bristle MUCH CHEAPER brush that will give the same result?". I am so happy I found these two brushes! Both by Essence of beauty, came in a small & medium size in one pack for just under $6. Can't beat that ! I especially love the smaller one as I can be more precise when applying E/S under my lower lid, applying shadow around or on the tear duct, and defining a crease line then going back in with a bigger blending brush ( I prefere MAC's 224) to blend it out.I don't have that well defined deep crease space so the small crease brush works amazing on that area. Both brushes are sturdy yet still very soft, espcially when you condition them after washing.
Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear 100% Mineral Facebrightener
Jeii 6/19/2009 12:05:00 PM
I was browsing through a local drug store yesterday and came upon this product (PF Talc free 100% mineral wear facebrightener). I was a lil' curious as to what this pressed powder REALLY does. I decided to go ahead and purchase it and gave it a go ! It's very light and sheen. It has a very subtle glow to it. Not too much shimmer. Two things that caught my ATTN was the fact that it's translucent and it contains silica. Which it's PERFECT ! It's great to wear alone, & gives your skin a colorless subtle glow. The silica contained in the product worked great as it didn't decrease the shine 100% ( but no matter how low or high end the product is I will always have a subtle shine) but I did notice less oil build up and shine. I also saw that in the morning it did make me skin look brighter and healthier. Over all I think it's a wonderful product. $13-15 was worth the price. THOUGHT : This product (FOR ME) kinda works as the MAC blot pressed powder because of the non-color results and the silica provided which helps control my shine. I liked the MAC BPP but thought it was a little heavy on my face as oppose to the Physicians Formula product which gives me the same results but less heavy, makes your skin look "awake" in the morning, and adds a low- key glow. Hope PF doesn't discontinue this product !
At first I didn't bother to go and purchase the fix+ cuz......I just didn't really care for it lol. After seeing many reviews raves on how great this product was for a more natural glow after applying makeup I said...."why not". After the 1st try...I WAS HOOKED !!! This product is the "magic" that I've been looking for. I spray 2-3 sprits on my face after applying liquid/powder foundation to eliminate the dry chalky look to transform it into a natural sexy soft dewy look. Also great for making E/S pigments stand out more ! A must MUST have !
I adore this color! Just what I've ben looking for. A nice subtle silvery light shimmer finish. I love and only love to use this on and around my tear duct. Also great for highlighting on the brow bone and even brushing a faint light streak downward the base to the tip of my nose.
