Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure Super

I can't believe it has taken me a year to write a review for this! Makes me sad as I have used up so much of it over the past year. It became one of my staples... It's a gorgeous barbie pink that is flattering on my skintone. It completely brightens my whole face and just completes my look. Love it!! I am trying to search for a replacement now as this was a special edition :(

Cleansers -Eve Lom - Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
Jaysta1985 4/9/2011 8:31:00 PM

I am currently on my second tub of the cleansing cream. I first purchased 50 ml back in June 2010 and the whole container lasted me a good 5-6 months, I was actually really impressed with how well it get’s rid of makeup as well as cleanse my face. Having said that I always use a makeup removing oil first and then I use the cleansing cream. I have since purchased a 100ml version because I liked it so much. Despite the many negative reviews on this product I actually really enjoy using it. My face always feels so smooth and soft afterwards. Definitely one I’ll continue using. I did stop for about 3 – 4 months as it was summer in Australia and I feel this product is better suited for the cooler months.

Palettes -Stila - Pro Artist Palette
rated 4 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/21/2010 7:57:00 AM

This palette is extremely good value @ $58 AUD for so many shadows that easily cost alot more. The quality of the shadow is pretty good, excellent pigmentation, good variety from neutrals to more daring colours for night outs. Easy to blend and really handy for travel. However, what the HELL is wrong with the packaging??? I can't even close it properly, really badly designed packaging.. !! Opening the lid takes a lot of effort each time, and I've stuck my finger into the shadow by mistake a few times during the struggle... not impressed Stila.. For this reason I will not be purchasing anymore pro artist palettes until they short out the horrible packaging issue..

Treatments -Guerlain - Issima Crema Camphrea Anti Blemish Care
rated 2 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/21/2010 7:47:00 AM

The low review is especially aimed towards the POOR packaging of this product. The product came in a small plastic tube, it was $58 AUD, and for the price I expected this to be a miracle pimple cream. It was a complete disappointment, firstly after a few uses as I was twisting the lid on, the whole top half snapped off... I mean talk about bad quality! I had to depot it into a small jar. The product itself smelt pretty horrid, it was also salmon coloured hence making it very hard to wear during the day (I am pretty fair, and this will not blend in). Hence I have resorted to using this as an overnight spot treatment when required. As for the effectiveness, it's not bad, it does shrink the pimple or white head and dries it out overnight ... but it makes a complete mess of my pillow and quilt covers with its nasty salmon colour.. it doesn't even come out in the wash.. so be careful!. I will not be repurchasing this once I have finished this.. and I rarely say this about products.. P.S I wanted to give the packaging a 0! Too bad makeupalley doesn't allow this.

Moisturizers -Chanel - Hydramax + Active Moisture Gel Cream [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/21/2010 7:25:00 AM

This is a pretty decent product, unlike the original Hydramax and Hydramax + Boost this did not break me out, however like the previous reviewer I found it not moisturising enough in winter, however it will be perfect for summer and as a morning cream because I have combination/oily skin. The smell is lovely as usual and the texture super light, I only need to scoop a tiny amount for my whole face. My current tub is sitting on my vanity replaced by the cream version for now (as it is winter), but come summer I know I will be reaching for this :)

Moisturizers -Chanel - Hydramax+ Active Moisture Cream
rated 5 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/21/2010 7:11:00 AM

Hydramax + Active Moisture Cream is aimed at those with normal/dry skin, I have Combination/Oily Skin and usually use Hydramax + Active Moisture Gel, however in winter I prefer the cream as my skin does get dehydrated (hence oily) and this is a total life saver. This Winter Sydney has bn really cold with rough winds in the mornings, I decided after speaking with the Chanel SA to try this along with the Serum every second night (On alternative nights I use Estee Lauder ANR Serum + Creme De Lar Me). This is my favourite Chanel moisturiser! You only need a little. Even though this is for dry skin it does not break me out.. although in Summer I will prob switch back to the Gel Version, such a shame as I do enjoy using the cream version a lot..

Treatments -Chanel - Hydramax + Active Serum
rated 4 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/21/2010 6:38:00 AM

I have used three different types of Hydramax Serum, from the original to the moisture boost to this current one and I have to say this one is my favourite. I use this every second night (as I have two sets of skincare routing) along with either the 'Hydramax + Active Moisture Cream' or the 'Hydramax + Active Moisture Gel'. I love the smell of this serum which is the same as all of the Hydramax range. Currently it's winter in Australia atm hence this serum is very appropriate. I have used this bottle for 3 months and its still going strong :) I also used it on some long haul flights recently... perfection! In my previous reviews I always talk about going back to Chanel skincare everynow and then.. it's such a good quality staple. The cost is also a lot cheap then most other serums at $118 AUD

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex
rated 4 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/21/2010 6:17:00 AM

I purchased my first bottle of ANR on the 31st of March 2010, so I have used this for a couple of months now. I wanted to wait this long before writing a review so it can be accurate. ANR costs $150 AUD for 50ml which is decent considering it does last fairly long, I still have > 1/3 of the bottle left. The texture is watery and it applies very easily on my face, there is no sticky feeling nor does it take long to absorb. I am only 25 this year so I can not talk about its anti-wrinkle properties however ever since I started using this I have less frequent breakouts and they are not as bad. I use this every second night (I have two sets of skincare routing) and on the weekends I use it in the mornings as well. Im really liking how it makes my skin look and it really compliments my current skincare range, I have already bought a backup duty free 100ml for only $192 :D

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Wave Creating Spray
rated 3 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/21/2010 2:19:00 AM

I actually really like this, but it could definitely be better. I have naturally slightly wavy hair and I love spraying this in the morning on damp hair, I then proceed to scrunch to hair with my hands and finish off with hairspray. It gives me a 'back from the beach" look and is really good for days I am in a total rush to get ready for work. I only gave this a 3 rating because for the price I expected a little more, it is no different to some drug store wave spray I have used in the past. I will still repurchase because it doesn't make my hair oily...

Conditioner -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Conditioner
rated 3 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/16/2010 7:44:00 AM

This is a 'nice' Conditioner, not totally amazing, but I like it and will purchase it again. As with all expensive Conditioner a little goes a long way and I like how light it is, my hair does get a nice healthy shine from using this and I am a big fan of the smell, however the one thing that really let me down its the packaging. I find it really hard to get the product out when the bottle gets half empty, the plastic is quite hard and is really not squeeze easy ... I am using this Conditioner because currently I am using Bumble and Bumble quenching shampoo and want something light and non heavy for conditioning..

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Spray De Mode
rated 5 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/16/2010 7:38:00 AM

A 10/10 Hair Spray for me.. It is pricey @ $54 AUD but I feel like it's worth it. I use it mainly as a finishing spray over styled hair, it does not leave white residue, my hair is soft and there is natural movement !!!I For me the hold lasts two days between washes. To me this is the Superstar in bumble & bumble hair product collection. There is no dupes for this, it is just that good. I can't stop raving about how awesome this is, the mist is soooo fine, the smell nice (altho a tad on the sweet side) and the result, Salon finish hehehehehe....

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Thickening Spray
rated 3 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/16/2010 7:30:00 AM

Like the Tonic Lotion, I find it a so-so product on it's own. but paired with the Tonic Lotion the result is really WOW. (See my Tonic Lotion Review for review recap) On it's own it doesn't work well for me, makes my hair feel heavy and hard to brush.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Tonic Lotion
rated 3 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/16/2010 7:24:00 AM

I am on the fence with this product. I am not a big fan of it on it's own, I feel like it doesn't do much. It smells really nice and refreshing and makes an awesome conditioning spray, but that's it. I tend to spray it at the end of my hair avoiding my scalp as it will make it oily (hence I have never really experienced the tingling feeling before). Now after all the negative comments I have just made you'd think I won't be repurchasing this.. WRONG. It may be a so-so product on its own, but paired with the thickening Spray it works MAGIC! I find both products so-so on their own, but together I get the BEST blowdry ever! Hair is straight and with volume, I feel like someone did it for me instead of DIY. I usually finish off with a spray of bumble & bumble Spray de Mode. Nothing can compare with a Tonic Lotion + Thickening Spray Combo... :)

Shampoo -Bumble & Bumble - Quenching Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/16/2010 7:15:00 AM

First of all this Shampoo is pretty expensive at $54 AUD for 250ml, I bought mine from Meccacosmetica (Aussie version of Sephora). It's an ultra-mild Shampoo that doesn't strip your hair of moisture. I was recommended this by the SA as I told her my main concern was how quickly my hair gets oily. When she recommended this, I was like "Are you kidding?" "I have oily hair and this Shampoo's tag line is For the Terribly Thirsty" She explained that the reason my hair was getting oily so quickly is because it's dehydrated (a bit like our skin actually) hence the scalp has to produce more oil to make up for the moisture loss (I work in an air-conditioned office). I now wash my hair every second day using this Shampoo (and Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo on Sundays..). Since using this Shampoo my hair is ALOT less oily and it looks really healthy! As already mentioned it's an expensive shampoo but you only need a little bit and it lathers really well. I will be repurchasing this at least 2 more times before switching to something different (should always switch your shampoos every 9 months or so, otherwise it stops working as well)

Shampoo -Bumble & Bumble - Sunday Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
Jaysta1985 8/16/2010 7:00:00 AM

The Sunday Shampoo is starting to become a SUNDAY fixture for me. Once a week I use it to really clean and clarify my hair. My hair literally feels squeaky clean, as previous reviewers have already mentioned it does strip your hair of all oil hence it's important to use a good quality conditioner and treatment afterwards. My scalp also loves this shampoo, I find it less oily if I use this once a week! The price isn't too bad at $38 AUD, it should last a good half year for me, I don't need to use much and I have pretty long hair. I'm not big on it's smell, but I love how light my hair feels after I use it. This shampoo has really grown on me and I actually can't be bothered to search for a better clarifying weekly Shampoo :)
