Fragrances -Prada - Infusion d'iris edp

On paper, this is not scent for me. But on, it's a whole other story! This is my new everyday scent. it's light and powdery and lasts on me all day. It's a very clean scent and not at all overwhelming.

Primer/ Corrector -Hourglass - Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15
Jaxappella 11/8/2008 9:18:00 PM
This is my favorite primer of all time. I love that it has sunscreen in it so it saves me a step. the powdery finish makes my makeup glide on, and I'm even using less foundation because of that. A tiny bit goes a long way. I'm thinking the previous reviewer used too much and that's why she got the white cast. I've seen this product used by many skin tones without a cast. It's the only primer that I've tried that keeps my makeup flawlessly in place all day and keeps shine down. I normally need a midday blotting, but this primer controlled oil so well that I use my compact now only for the mirror!

Deodorants -Secret - Flawless
Jaxappella 5/31/2008 12:28:00 PM
I'm in love! When I shower at night I use the Secret Clinical strength, but have been hunting for something to use for my morning showering that was effective but not irritating as the Mitchum for Women was. This is it! I'm using the soft solid that clicks up. It's deceiving as the product doesn't really visibly come out as much as other soft solids do, but it's there and it works. I find that one or two clicks is more than enough and I feel dry and refreshed all day long. The scent really does last but it's not overwhelming. The Olay conditioners keep my skin conditioned too. It's one of the few products on the market that aren't only for nighttime use with such a high percentage of active indgredient. And it works amazingly well!

Lip Gloss -Kiehls - Lip Gloss - Pink Rider
Jaxappella 5/25/2008 2:28:00 PM
I had tried to buy this color several times and was told that it was the most popular of the glosses and was sold out. Well the wait was worth it. As with the other Kiehl's glosses the texture is creamy and moisturizing and the perfect weight. This is the perfect natural pink with a slight shimmer. It's a great natural look for the "your lips but better" fan.

Lip Gloss -Kiehls - Downtown Peach
Jaxappella 5/25/2008 2:21:00 PM
This was my first Kiehl's gloss and it got me hooked. It's a nice sheer peach with just enough pink to keep it from turning orange on me. The color is much more sheer on than it appears in the tube. It lives up to it's "unusually creamy" claims and has moisturized my dry lips without feeling heavy. The mango-apricot smell is yummy and not overwhelming.

Treatments -LUSH - Henna - Caca Noir
Jaxappella 2/17/2008 11:59:00 PM
I used Caca Noir the second time I hennaed my hair. The first time I used Caca Brun and it made my brown hair a little darker, but extremely shiny. Well I used to have highlights and as they are growing out they got brassy. I mixed 2 blocks of Brun (what I had left from the first use) with 2 blocks of Noir. It made my hair a gorgeous rich mahogany brown. It's darker than my original shade, but still definitely brown. And best of all my highlights have pretty much vanished! They are slightly lighter than the rest of the hair but hardly noticeable. I LOVE it. Many people complain about the mess. It's not the cleanest process, but luckily I have a friend who works at LUSH and he helped me with the process. The easiest way it to heat it in a small crock pot. You want it to be like a runny frosting (if that makes sense) and you need to use it as soon as it has cooled enough to touch, but is still hot. Make sure you wear gloves or your fingers will not be so attractive for a while. Also, I suggest having a crappy towel, a plastic shower cap and a hair elastic ready to help you with drips and to keep it under the cap. It's a week later and my hair is still insanely soft and shiny.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Black Pearl
Jaxappella 9/16/2007 11:16:00 AM
I was immediately drawn to this in the store because of the scent and the name. I was all excited to have a glittery black bath. The other bath bombs I have tried had a lovely scent that lasted through the bath and lingered lightly on my skin afterwards. This was the major exception. The scent was way too light and I couldn't even detect it after it finished fizzing. As other reviewers mentioned it left a heavy charcoal ring around the tub. The others I have tried didn't have this effect. While the water was pretty, the overall product lacked the oomph I hoped for.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Youki-Hi Bath Bomb
Jaxappella 9/13/2007 8:50:00 PM
I love Jasmine, so taking this home was a no brainer. It turned my bath into a lovely peachy pink, glittery, girly delight. The smell was a little strong at first but settled as the bomb fizzed out. I was scared that the glitter was going to be too chunky and sticky but it was subtle and made the water all sparkly. The one complaint is that the bits of flower were a little large and stuck to me. I felt super feminine as I soaked and loved that even after showering the glitter off and washing my hair I still smelled Jasmine-y. I kept smelling my hair all day! EDIT: After my initial bomb I bought a second one and regretted it. It was so strong that it gave me a migraine. My bathroom smelled like it for days. It didn't have the same natural jasmine smell...it smelled too perfumey! I wonder if I got a bad one, but it turned me off enough that I think Youki-Hi and I must part ways.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Waving Not Drowning Bath Bomb
Jaxappella 9/13/2007 8:44:00 PM
I'm an insomniac. I hadn't slept more than a few hours in weeks and decided to try a relaxing bath with this before bed. The smell was heavenly and relaxing. I almost fell asleep in the tub. It is pure magic. I was concerned that its small size would lead to a small scent but I was wrong. It was perfect. I had the best night's sleep in ages after using this. I will be stocking up on this little delight!

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Mitchum Smart Solid - Papaya
Jaxappella 8/24/2007 11:28:00 AM
I picked this up after my boyfriend was extremely impressed with the men's version. I had been using the Secret Clinical Strength and the only problem I had with it was the night application. If I used it at night then showered in the morning (which the packaging says is ok) I felt like my underarms never fully dried. I'm not a fruit scent lover, but the papaya isn't super fruity (oddly enough), it's just a pleasant scent. The first time I used it was right after the shower and I felt a little sticky from it. The next day I waited until I was completely dry and out of the humid bathroom for a bit and then applied. It went on like a dream and I felt dry and stayed that way all day. It worked as well as the Secret (since it has the same amount of active ingredient) without the hassle of having to make time to shower at night. I will continue to use this instead as it works just as well for a fraction of the price! EDITED 10/25/07: After using this happily for awhile I noticed that it stung on occasion. I chalked this up to post shave sensitivity. Then one day I found one armpit (yes, just one) had some red irritated bumps (one hurt like hell it was so sensitive). I switched back to using the Secret Clinical at night or Dove in the morning (depending on when I showered) while the irritation subsided. A friend and I oddly had a discussion about deoderant (we were complaining about feeling icky at work) and she had the exact same reaction to Mitchum deoderants. So clearly there is something in the formula that doesn't react well to more than just me. I will give it one lippy because, as advertised, it doesn't leave white marks. Now I haven't touched it for over a week and my armpit is still a little red but is much happier.

Deodorants -Secret - Clinical Strength
Jaxappella 7/17/2007 8:11:00 PM
I had heard the hype and been curious. Then a friend of mine mentioned that she had bought it and would let me know what she thought. She had success with it, and I heard about the free sample so I sent away for it. It works like a charm. It has kept me from being a sweaty and smelly mess on the most humid and nasty days. It took some getting used to in terms of the night application. I now either shower at night or just wash my armpits at night and ignore them in my morning shower so I can apply it as directed. I tried both scents and the light and fresh is my favorite...it's less sweet. I take off one lipstick for packaging because I do find not all clicks are created equal...sometimes one dispenses a ton of product and other times one barely provides any. But other than that, I am in love with this deoderant and I have tried several on the market. Some had left me with itchy armpits due to irritation, but this one did not. I will but it as long as they make it!

Polishes -Delux Beauty - Pollyanna [DISCONTINUED]
Jaxappella 6/26/2007 11:42:00 AM
I got this as an extra in a swap and love it. It's a bright pink creme. Normally I'm not drawn to either of those criteria, but this polish won me over. The thin consistancy had me a little wary at first, but the color is very pigmented and applied like a dream. It wasn't at all streaky. It was smooth and glassy and gorgeous! The sheen lasted as long as the manicure (4 or so days). Now I only wish they hadn't been discontinued so I could buy more of this great color! My fear of bright pinks has just been ended!

Treatments -Sunsilk - Beyond Brunette Colour Boost
Jaxappella 6/4/2007 11:57:00 PM
My once purply red highlights ditched both of those colors and decided to head for copper. I figured this was worth a shot to try to get them looking more blended with my medium brown hair (that had naturally reddish tones to it). It leaves my hair super soft and shiny and makes the color of my hair look more even. I love the smell of it, and it doesn't stain my hands (but I do wash right after I apply it). I took off one lippy because the color is supposed to gradually wash out, but I feel as though it doesn't linger nearly as long as it ought to. But the benefits outweigh it's slight lasting power downfall. I will use this as my highlights grow out and maybe even beyond to make my hair shiny!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Extra Strength Hair Color Remover - Color Oops
Jaxappella 5/22/2007 12:13:00 AM
After a color glaze gone very wrong I was terrified that my shiny medium/dark brown hair was going to be a flat purply black forever. I did some searching online and found out that this product was available at a drugstore right down the street. I ran out for it and hoped for the best. I followed the directions exactly and 20 minutes later my hair was back to normal. It worked like magic. My hair was even soft and shiny again. I had feared that it would turn some terrible color and feel like straw but my hair was happy again!
I took off a lippy for the smell, which my boyfriend jokingly referred to as burnt cat. It's not an attractive smell at all...very chemically repulsive. Also, after shaking the two solutions together it fizzed and came out of the applicator bottle with such force that some was lost, and they don't give you that much to begin with. But I am very happy with my $13 purchase since I was fearing a very expensive salon fix.
For the record, my hair had highlights which are now the same color as when I started, my natural color is the same, and I used it within 4 hours of coloring (yes, it really was that bad!!!).

Misc Beauty Tools -Revlon - Makeup Eraser Pen
Jaxappella 4/12/2007 1:07:00 PM
I'm in love. I always seem to get mascara smudges on my face by angling the wand oddly to get those tiny corner lashes. Getting it off usually led to me having to re-do my surrounding makeup. I had a coupon for Revlon and this was on sale so I figured it was worth a try. I'm so glad I did. It removed the nasty smudges without leaving a black residue behind or damaging the rest of my makeup. It was so easy to use and convenient to travel with. This is a new staple in my cosmetic bag.
