Like another reviewer had posted I bought this off ebay and it's called Rulav nose reshaper. It's half the price as the one sold on nosesecret.com but it's the exact same thing. Inserting them takes alot of practice, and if you keep them in too long your nose will get very sore. The longest I've been able to keep them in some far has been 10 hours, and i was almost crying when I had to take them out that day. But the effect it had on my nose was good. It lifted my droopy tip and slimmed out my nose, which were my only concerns. The only thing I didn't like about it was how painful it was :( I will reserve it for special occasions, because there is no way I can wear this on a daily basis. I wear the size small by the way.
Foundations -Unlisted Brand - Lucy Minerals Foundation
JamaicanWhitie 11/12/2012 4:02:00 PM
This is my first mineral makeup purchase ever because I was always afraid of venturing into mineral powders because of all the irritating and pore clogging ingredients like bare minerals. So I did my research and came to the conclusion that the formulation Lucy 'light' in the shade cream cream would be my best match (NC 15/20) The Lucy light formula is perfect for very sensitive and reactive skin types which is myself. My skin is very acne prone and will break out from anything I use on it, so my skincare routine is very simple. Anyways the light formula is perfect for me because it has very few great ingredients: Ingredients ~ zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, mica, magnesium stearate, iron oxides The coverage is medium-full depending how many layers you do. The trick to applying this is stippling it in very thin layers as to prevent it from getting cakey. It has a semi-matte finish, however after a few hours my skin feels very oily,so I have to blot frequently throughout the day with this on, but i love it so much I don't really mind. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!
I bought this foundation hoping that it would even out my skin tone and not aggravate my skin because I do have acne prone skin, however I do not have any active acne; that is until I used this. I used this for two days in a row and I am left with 4 pimples. And they aren't small little ones, they are red and inflamed and very painful. Which is really unfortunate. However there are other things I did not like about it. 1) coverage was not all that great, it was sheer coverage. 2) didn't hold up on my oily skin for more than 1 hour. 3) oxidized throughout the day to a much darker color. 4) emphasized any flakes that were not noticeable before. 5) my skin felt parched during the day, yet an oil slick, so it dehydrated my skin making my skin overcompensate with more even more oil. not a good combo. So I am going to pass on this one.
I LOVE this serum! It claims to be equivalent to a 20% daily gylcolic treatment. Whoever is saying this has glycolic in it needs to do their research. Anyways, this exfoliates my skin without causing any sort of irritation or side effects, which is saying something because my skin is insanely sensitive. It cannot handle anything, but I can honestly say this is gentle enough not to cause any problems. I have been using it for the past 2 months and my skin feels so smooth and hydrated. I also feel that it helps in my makeup to look smoother and my flakes are less noticeable too whenever I use this. I definitely recommend this serum to anyone who is looking for a chemical exfoliater who cant handle the harshness of physical scrubs.
I bought this cleanser because my skin is very sensitive, oily, and acne prone. I wanted something that was simple and would remove my makeup every night. This removes the leftover makeup that I may have missed with my facial wipes and is very gentle on my skin. It does not strip my skin, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I LOVE the smell of this cleanser, its very fruity and citrusy! I would definitely recommend this cleanser if you are looking for something simple that won't aggravate your skin!
The purpose of this serum is not to lighten hyperpigmentation or acne marks on the face. Whoever told you this is terribly wrong. This serum contains anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties; making it a wonderful hydrater for oily and acne prone skin. Its meant to soothe and calm redness (hence the green color, and know that red is opposite green on the color wheel so it cancels it out). In terms of covering the redness it doesn't really do that, however it helps to hydrate and soothe my irritated, rosacea skin. If you are looking for a lightening product for brown spots/red marks then this is not what you want, but SkinCeuticals does have a lightening cream made specifically for that, so maybe check it out online. But I will continue to use this when my skin is dehydrated and needs a little more moisture cause its wonderful for that.
Okay first things first. If you are looking for a med-full coverage foundation this is NOT for you. I prefer using a foundation that it lighter coverage and go in with concealer in the areas that I need full coverage. My skin reacts better that way, because I am VERY acne/clogging prone. I have experimented with numerous foundations over the last year and this is the one that I reach for the most. I apply it with a duo fibre brush and stipple it in, and then buff. The one thing I don't like about this is the color. I bought mine in Light and there are some days where it will match the color of my skin and other days where it will just SO ORANGE. I have recently figured out its because I clean my makeup brushes every 3 days, and whatever pigments were left on the brush would make my foundation change the color darker. I realized this because whenever my brush was freshly cleaned is when the color matched my skin the best. So word of advice is to apply this with only a clean brush with no other remnants of pigment on it or else the color will be all wrong. But other than that I really do like this foundation. It helps to keep my oily areas matte, and my dry areas hydrated enough so that it doesn't accentuate flakes. It will not aggravate even the most sensitive skin! :)
Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush
JamaicanWhitie 7/15/2012 6:34:00 PM
I love this mascara!!! My HG is maybelline the falsies mascara, but this one is starting to become my favorite because throughout the day I don't get random clumps underneath my eye or smudges. It's very natural and makes my lashes look great. I will most definitely continue to buy this!!!! :)
BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
JamaicanWhitie 6/25/2012 6:55:00 PM
I have been anticipating the launch of this bb cream since April and was so excited when I saw it in stores this past week. I purchased it from shoppers drug mart for 11.99 $CAD. Which is alright I guess. The consistency is not too thick and it blends evenly into the skin without any streaks. And also when I applied it I noticed that throughout the day my skin didn't flaky like it normally does with my other foundation. So that made me happy, it looked like it was my skin and I didn't pack a ton of makeup on my face. Now granted the coverage isn't all that great, it's sheer, like most tinted moisturizers and provides less coverage than other bb creams on the market. I did not set it with powder which I probably should have done, so I had a somewhat dewy finish after 4-5 hours. But not to the point of total greaseball. So if you are looking for something that is lightweight, sheer coverage, hydrating and spf protection then I would recommend it. However it will not cover up any acne flare ups, hyperpigmentation, etc. I leave that to my concealer to do anyways. So it just depends what your preferences are and just adjusting it to work for you :)
As much as I want to love this product, I can't. I have been using this for about a week, and unfortunately it has clogged up my pores MAJOR. All over my face; cheeks, forehead, chin. Most sunscreens don't break my face out unless they are like cheap drugstore ones meant for the body. I am so disappointed, because I really wanted to love it. Because I love the way it feels on my skin, it sinks in wonderfully and doesn't leave that obvious white cast on the skin and it feels lightweight. I just wish it agreed with my skin :( But I do recommend others to try it out and see how their skin reacts to it.
Top/Base Coats -Essie - Good to Go! The Fastest Drying Top Coat
JamaicanWhitie 4/25/2012 7:55:00 PM
I bought this last week and I applied it 5 days ago, and looking at my nails right now they are looking pretty great! There is just slight chipping on the ends of my nails on my right hand cause I use it the most, and the left hand is still in perfect condition! I am very surprised! Because the nail polish I use "Essie Fiji" normally cracks and chips within a few days, however its the fifth day and they look really good. Infact all I need to do is just swipe a little bit of nail polish on the ends cause they are so tiny! I am very happy! And I do use my hands alot, I am required to type alot and lots of paperwork and filing and other office work and they look awesome. And the best thing about this is that my nails were dried in like 3 minutes. Normally I have to wait 30 minutes for it to be completely dried, but in just a few minutes it was COMPLETELY dried. I can't say much about the polish turning goopy and hard because I just bought it, but I will update my review if it does get to that point. But for now I would most definitely repurchase this! :)
Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface
JamaicanWhitie 4/21/2012 1:46:00 PM
I LOVE this blush! Its the perfect light pink color, very girly and cute! You could layer it on for a more dramatic evening look, but for everyday this my favourite blush! In terms of staying for 12 hours, I would agree. I put this on one day at 9am and didn't take my makeup off until 9pm, and it was still there on my cheeks looking perfect! I bought this in Canada at Sephora so I ended up paying about $37 with taxes included, so it was a little expensive, but for the amount you get I would say its an alright price. Because I could see this lasting a whole year before I hit pan. I would definitely buy this again!
Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - 080 Strawberry Shortcake
JamaicanWhitie 3/14/2012 11:04:00 PM
I was so intrigued by these lip butters from all of the beauty gurus on youtube and blogs and just had to get my hands on one of these babies! They are basically the best of both worlds when it comes to lipsticks and lip balms. -moisturizing -pigmented -long lasting (3-4 hours) -slight shine I actually just bought this yesterday and I have to say I am already loving it. The color of strawberry shortcake is so adorable! I would say it's a light/medium pink depending how much you apply. It is fairly pigmented, I don't understand some of the reviewers saying they barely get any pigment payoff, because I get ALOT with just one or two swipes and I have medium pigmented lips. And I also like how its not matte lip some lipsticks, and has a little but of shine, but not too much like lip glosses (I prefer a subtle shine). So all in all I woud most definitely recommend this lip butter to anyone, they are my new HG lipstick/balm! :)
Concealers -Physicians Formula - Gentle Cover Concealer(green)
JamaicanWhitie 3/13/2012 7:20:00 PM
The people that complain about this product are using it the wrong way! Its not supposed to be used alone and blended in by itself or else you will look like an alien. I bought this regardless of the reviews and based on my understanding of green cancelling out redness on the skin. I just recently experienced a breakout from some products that I used and got some hyperpigmentation left from acne, and needed something with more coverage as my light coverage foundation just wasn't cutting it. I prefer to have light coverage all over just to even out my skin tone and full coverage in the needed areas. So I applied this using a concealer brush because just wiping it on would be totally unsanitary because it comes in a lipstick applicator. And I just applied where my marks were not too thick and not too thin, just enough to cancel out all the red. Then WITHOUT blending it into my skin I applied my foundation using the stippling and blending technique and it worked lovely! You have to be really light handed though when you blend in your foundation or else you will just smear off the concealer. But I feel that it lasts a long time 8-9 hours cause that's as long as I have kept it on, I will update if I have to use it for longer than that and see how long it lasts. But I do recommend this if you are suffering from redness/red marks because its conceals perfectly and topped off with your favourite foundation its great.
Concealers -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles
JamaicanWhitie 3/3/2012 11:08:00 PM
I bought this in the medium color, and it matches my skin color perfectly. I am an NC35 for reference. At first I was a little skeptical of the application of this concealer because one would think that it would collect bacteria with the sponge applicator, but apparently it has microbial properties that doesn't allow bacteria growth says "maybelline" so I don't know 100% what is correct, but I am going to review it based solely on the product itself. Application is easy, quick and effortless. Just a twist of the top and concealer comes out and disperses over the sponge applicator. Then you just swipe under/over eyes etc. And I just love the ease of application. I just use my fingers to blend it in and that works just fine. Staying power, I would say that it lasts pretty much all day for me 8-10 hours. Now keep in mind my undereye area is not too much of a concern, it is just a tad bit discolored nothing alarming, but it can be a bit bothersome on days. So for me it works beautifully. It doesn't look cakey and flaky but smooth. I make sure to apply a heavy eye moisturizer before I apply it of course, or else I'm sure you would experience some cakyness as with any concealer for that matter. I would definitely buy this again!
