Blush -Kevyn Aucoin - The Creamy Moist Glow in Tansoleil (Apricot)

Beautiful color and a very nice, smooth formula :) It dries to a soft powdery finish, no shimmer just a sheer wash of fresh color but not too sheer, just the right amount of pigment. I don't find it to be extremely pigmented which makes blending it in so much easier. I like that it's small enough to carry in my tiny makeup bag for touchups throughout the day. I like that the lid is the snap kind and I don't have to unscrew it like the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge jar. It's also big enough for fingertip or brush application, I don't see why the diameter of the container would be a problem unless you have very large hands. Bought it for $21.60 at dermstore.com, very pleased with my purchase and I'd like to try Liquifuchsia next :)
This gorgeous peachy-nude shade looks stunning against my medium skin tone (EL Double Wear in Tawny), I would definitely buy it again :) The formula can be a bit drying but it doesn't bother me, I love reapplying it!! It stays put through a few drinks and some light munching, very impressive. Overall, a very lovely lipstick that I find myself reaching for daily!
This stuff smells like poison!!! :( Didn't like it at all, too thick and cakey looking, not flattering at all on me.
I like this foundation but I find that Maybelline Fit Me is quite similar and not $46! Will not repurchase this one but I do love everything else by Bobbi Brown :)
I find that this foundation is comparable to Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, which I've also worn before, but without the ridiculous price! It glides on silky smooth, the coverage is light and natural looking, not thick or cakey at all, it has SPF 18 which is awesome, the shade selection is spectacular, and best of all it's only $6.94 at Target :) I LOVE how my skin looks outdoors when I wear this, it blends in seamlessly and the finish is gorgeous. My skin is naturally really oily and while this foundation doesn't control my oiliness, it doesn't make it worse either. I can see why someone looking for a lot of coverage may not like this, it lets your natural skin shine through but in a lovely, polished way. Very good foundation overall, will repurchase :) P.S. I don't feel so positive about the powder, however. It didn't work for me at all but the foundation is awesome!
This concealer is pure crap, it sinks into every single crevice and makes my skin look hideous. I've had zero luck with MAC concealers, PASS.
Bronzers -Korres - Korres Colour Monoi Oil Bronzing Powder 01 Sunglow Light

I'm not really pale, more of a medium yellow tone (WRF2). This powder shows up beautifully on my skin with just the right amount of shimmer- no fake orange color here!! The price is a bit up there but you can find it in a 3 piece kit at Sephora or Korres.com which includes the tinted moisturizer, primer and this lovely powder- all for less than 30 bucks! Awesome deal!!!
Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo 5 Pieces Brush Set (Mineral Makeup)
Jackie0219 4/30/2010 5:32:00 PM
LOVE THESE!!! Long story short- these are priced right (about 10 bucks average), work like magic and leave 50 dollar brushes in the dust. The end. Seriously. I use them for mineral makeup most of the time but they can be used for any powder makeup! The bristles are SO SOFT and fluffy, which makes them so pleasant to use. I have yet to find anything softer, not even MAC comes close to this. Or Bobbi Brown, or anyone else for that matter. I'm so done with over- hyped junk!! Anyway, I'm so happy with these and highly recommend everyone try them!
Foundations -Bare Escentuals - bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation - Golden Medium

I gave this another shot about 3 years after I SWORE I'd never spend another dime on it! I like to vary my foundations based on my mood... I like a smooth liquid on some days and a silky powder on others. Well, turns out that the last time I purchased BE I got the wrong shade, which was Light #2 and it looked hideous as it mixed with my natural skin oils. It literally looked like flour mixed with oil- nasty. This shade however, matches my skin perfectly and doesn't cake or crease like #2 did. I'm so excited to be using mineral makeup again, can't wait to go buy the big jar at Sephora :) I'm not real excited about the Matte formula simply cause it's so dry looking but I'll give it a shot anyway. TWO THUMBS UP for this shade- I would NEVER have come back to BE if it weren't for this shade!!
Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Liquid Daily Sunblock spf 70

Awesome stuff, I LOVE it! I've been looking for a Shiseido 55 dupe for quite some time now and hadn't had any luck til now. I wanted the lovely, thin liquid consistency and protection but couldn't bear to shell out all that cash over and over (Shiseido runs for 40 bucks a bottle- ouch). I'm so much happier with this one, it even has a higher SPF! I smear it on like mad and it never gets greasy on me despite the fact that my skin is somewhat oily. I find that it blends in completely and doesn't leave a white cast. It photographs well and holds up GREAT through rigorous activity (kayaking in humid temps!) too. Very high quality sunscreen, cannot rave enough about it :)
Good stuff!! I'd never waste my cash on Dior or YSL's froo froo mascara- not when there's awesome, CHEAP mascara available, like this one! The staying power is impressive (I have the non-waterproof/blackest black), it doesn't flake or irritate my eyes- and I actually like the perfumey smell hehe :)
Top/Base Coats -New York Color - Extra Shiny Top Coat

Love it!! I was eye-ing OPI at first but the price made me gag, it's just polish geez... So I picked this one up and tried it. Well, it's been 4 days so far and my pedi looks perfect, no chips or dullness, just a perfect mirror finish.. Check this out before shelling out tons of cash for the big name top coats!
Lipstick -Mary Kay - Signature Cream Lipstick in Apricot Glaze
Jackie0219 4/14/2010 12:22:00 PM
Got mine for less than 3 bucks on eBay!!! :) Beautiful peachy-shimmer shade that I truly believe is prettier than any of MAC's neutral shades!! It easily pairs with any eye makeup look too. The new formula (shiny black tube) is so rich and creamy with no nasty taste (the older silver tube- yuck)- I love it... Staying power is good too, it lasted me at least 5 hours with regular drinking and eating.... Two thumbs up on this one!
Fragrances -Donna Karan - Be Delicious Fresh Blossom EDP
Jackie0219 4/9/2010 11:29:00 AM
Beautiful fragrance, not overpowering at all just softly flowery and maybe even a touch of fruity... I got the twin pack at Macy's for $50 (Fresh Blossom and Be Delicious) and Fresh Blossom is hands down my favorite- highly recommend for springtime :)
I seriously did not understand the hype about "fine milled" super duper highly pigmented blushes until I tried Bobbi Brown's. Not even NARS Orgasm is this pigmented!! I'm beyond smitten with BB quality, you have to try it to believe it. So anyway, I read about this shade on some beauty article and they spoke so highly of it for every skin tone- so on and so on. Finally, I ordered it online and it arrived wrapped in fluffy tissue paper inside an adorable black BB box. The color is very bright, which is probably why some people shy away from it! I applied it with a stippling brush, VERY lightly. Oh wow, was I wowed!!! The shade is a true peony flower pink, completely matte and somehow made my skin look poreless. I took a picture of my face to see how the shade photographs and the finish was incredible- smooth, glowing, and absolutely perfect!! Can't rave enough about it now :)
