i was so disappointed with this eye cream. when i started using this, my under eye area was really dry to the point that skin was flaking. after i put this on, i was impressed by how moisturizing it was and how it made the flakes go away, even after i put on under eye concealer, which would usually accentuate dry skin. however, after 2 more days of use, i woke up with swollen and red under eyes. i looked like i had just cried for hours. and the worst part about it was that the area of skin that i applied this to was so sensitive that it hurt to touch it. putting on my usual all over face moisturizer made the area sting. even though this product seems to work well for many other people, it just didnt work out for me. i was probably allergic to something in the cream, which is too bad for the price.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational - Born With It
rated 5 of 5

i really have to give props to maybelline for making pretty amazing products lately, this being no exception. this lipstick is super wearable for everyday. it's a nude-pink colour that's not too light so that it won't wash out your face. it adds a nice hint of pink to your lips and is pretty shiny. it also has bits of shimmer without being frosty. the formula itself isnt heavy or drying and is really smooth. some people complain about the texture, but i don't feel that it's grainy at all. i usually don't like wearing lipsticks, but this one has got me addicted. absolutely love it.

i usually don't like lipsticks, but after seeing all the hype about it on youtube i decided to pick this up, and i'm not regretting it at all. it's such a lovely wearable coral-pink colour that really compliments my skin (for reference, i'm about an NC25-NC30). despite looking kind of bright, it's actually not too in your face. it just adds a nice warm pink colour to my lips and it doesnt wash me out at all. as for the lipstick itself, it's quite creamy, glides on the lips and doesn't dry them out. it's also quite pigmented so i don't need to swipe too much on my lips. only thing i absolutely hate about this lipstick would be the scent. it smells like play doh. but i don't smell it while its on my lips, only from the tube, so it's not too much of a problem. overall, great lipstick that's good for an everyday look.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
JU1CYY69 9/4/2010 5:04:00 PM

this out does my lash blast mascara. i've repurchased last blast 3 times, but i might not anymore because of this mascara. it gives more length and is soft to the touch. volume wise, its a bit lacking compared to lash blast but not too much to the point where i would choose lash blast over this one. lash blast also holds the curl a BIT better than this mascara, but i still love it more than my lash blast. it also defines my lashes pretty well and doesnt give me spidery looking lashes. only bad thing about this mascara is that it's kind of difficult to find in canada. i only see it in select shoppers drug marts. as far as i know, its not sold in any other store. definitely my favorite mascara of all time.

took me a while to get the right shade, but well worth it. for your reference, i'm about an NC25. at first i bought this in medium - beige (0-2.5), which ended up being too dark (its even darker than mac's studio finish concealer in NC30, which was too dark for me), so i ended up exchanging it for light - ivory (2-3) because it was the next lightest yellow toned concealer. this ended up being too light for me. finally i decided to get the light - cream (4-5) concealer, despite it looking pink toned, and it ended up going on sale the day i exchanged it, so i got some money back (yay!) i ended up paying $5.99 for this at SDM and i think i finally found the right shade. even though the container looks pink toned, it actually doesnt look that pink. it's kind of neutral - yellow. the concealer itself is pretty good. i love the consistancy. its creamy and blends really easy. the coverage is also great for my dark under eye circles and my acne scars. covers up redness around my nose and mouth very well too. does not cake up when i'm trying to build up the opacity. another thing i really appreciate about this concealer is the fact that its matte. it doesnt get greasy or feel sticky after i apply it. best of all, like all the maybelline dream products, it doesnt feel heavy. with this, i look polished, without feeling like im wearing too much make up. will definitely buy this again when i run out. i've been really impressed with the new products maybelline has been putting out

Eye Shadow -Sephora - Eyeshadow
rated 2 of 5

i usually dont look at sephora products because most of them don't seem very good judging by the reviews, but i got an eye shadow from sephora as part of a birthday freebie gift. i have this in aspen summit no. 23 which is a shimmery white eyeshadow. i wont say this eye shadow disappointed me though because i never really had high expectations. first of all, the colour payoff isn't that great. i tried using this as an inner corner highlight and it barely even showed up. second, its not very smooth. compared to mac shadows, which feel very silky, these feel quite rough. third, it doesnt last very long. i couldnt even see the highlight at all after a few hours. i'd say save your money and go buy better quality shadows such as mac.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Nano Eyeliner (any/all)
rated 4 of 5
JU1CYY69 3/5/2010 10:56:00 PM

got this as a birthday freebie in the colour silver green. its actually quite a pretty colour. i like using it on my bottom lash line because it's not as harsh as a black liner and brings a pop of colour to my eyes. i tried it on my waterline but it didnt even show up, but its probably just this colour that has this problem. i'm sure black would show up. i also found that its easy to smudge if i want it to and its very creamy. it also stayed on my lower lash line without moving anywhere else on my face. probably wont repurchase this though because even though i like using it to line my lower lash line, i usually don't use liner on a daily basis.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - Lip Care - Q10
rated 3 of 5
JU1CYY69 3/5/2010 10:48:00 PM

not my favorite lip care product. it's tacky/sticky and the smell is pretty .. awful imo. didn't really do much to moisturize my lips. i also really hate the packaging. i don't like lip products that dispense through a tiny hole in the applicator. i don't get much control with where the product goes. but this was only a few dollars so it wasn't much of a loss.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lip Ice Strawberry lipbalm

i really really like these lip balms. they smell fantastic. i have the apple and strawberry lip balms and i remember when i first got them i couldnt stop sniffing them. i also really love the minty tingly feeling you get on your lips when you apply them. these are pretty moisturizing but because my lips are normally very dry, they don't moisturize as well as i would like them to. still a great lip balm though.

Mascara -Sephora - Lash Plumper
rated 3 of 5
JU1CYY69 3/5/2010 10:29:00 PM

not really impressed by this product. it kind of bunches my lashes together so that i look like i only have 10 super thick lashes on my eyes. its also too heavy for my stick straight, thin asian lashes. if i curl my lashes and put this mascara on them, they go back to being straight. i will say that it does really lengthen my lashes and it is quite dark. i also didnt have any flaking or smudging problems with this mascara but i still think that my drug store mascaras (lash blast and voluminous) work better for a fraction of the cost.

JU1CYY69 3/5/2010 10:24:00 PM

really loving this toner. keeps my skin clean and i've noticed that i've gotten a lot less greasier in my t-zone when i started using this. it also feels really refreshing. not only that but marcelle products can be found on sale quite often at rexall and shoppers drug mart. london drugs, not so much, but at rexall they sometimes have buy one get one sales on their skin care products.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black
rated 4 of 5
JU1CYY69 3/5/2010 10:17:00 PM

when i first applied this mascara, i REALLY loved it. it looked so dark, separated my lashes well while still volumizing them and also lengthened my lashes quite well (i think it made my lashes longer than my lash blast). it's also probably the darkest mascara out there. but after a while, my lashes started to wilt. i thought at first since it's waterproof it would keep my curl intact and wont smudge. boy was i wrong. i think because the formula is so wet and heavy, my lashes got weighed down. my lashes were still curled, just not as curled as i would like it to be. also, i found that this smudges quite a bit under my eyes so i look like a raccoon. that really disappointed me. i really wanted to give this mascara a 3.5/5 but i just opted for the 4 because it does make my lashes look nice for the most part.

Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Quench Body Lotion- Deep Moisture with Cocoa Butter, Jojoba and Vit. B3
rated 5 of 5
JU1CYY69 3/5/2010 10:11:00 PM

if i had to marry something, it would be this. i suffer from keratosis pilaris so my skin is really uneven and bumby. while this hasnt healed my skin or anything (which i never expected from it since KP has no "cure") it has significantly improved the texture of my skin. it feels so much smoother and soft. my elbows and knees are also usually very dry yet this really moisturizes them. they don't look or feel dry all day long. the scent is also very good. at first i didn't really like it but it grew on me. it kind of smells like cake? might just be me but thats what my friend also thought when she smelled me. anyway there is one thing i don't really like and thats the shimmer in the lotion. why theres shimmer, i dont really know but i doesnt really bother me since its not that noticable. unless it makes me sparkly like edward cullen (yuck), then there's no reason i won't be repurchasing this

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
rated 4 of 5
JU1CYY69 3/5/2010 10:01:00 PM

i have a lot of post acne scars, which really frustrated me so i broke down and bought this concealer after hearing some pretty good things about it. i think this concealer, however, is alright. it does conceal very well. it doesnt feel heavy and a little goes a long way. the packaging is also pretty good. it's tiny and easy to carry around, but be careful where you bring this because even a little bit of heat can make this melt (my desk lamp was even able to melt the top layer). its also opaque and pigmented, but i found after a while it fades/rubs off, so my scars end up showing again. also, it has a tendency to grip on to dry patches, especially after finishing powder has been applied. i've also found that if you use too much, it will settle into fine lines and also cake. i was warned by the SA though to use very little of this because of those issues. another problem i have with this concealer is the colour selection. i don't understand why mac skips the NC25 shade, which is my skin tone. the SA instead had to use NC30 on me, which is a little bit too dark. the ligher shade, NC20, is too light on me. why mac, why?

Brows -E.L.F. - Eyebrow Kit
rated 5 of 5
JU1CYY69 3/5/2010 8:47:00 PM

really great for brows. i have pretty black eyebrows so i got this one is dark. the wax side of the kit is a neutral dark brown while the powder is a slighty red brown.. while i really love this brow kit, i don't actually use the powder side of it. when i use both the wax and the powder, i find my brows too warm toned and also too dark. after experimenting with this kit for a week or so i found that my brows look best with just the wax. the colour of the wax is a really nice shade of brown that looks natural. i usually apply this with the angled brush that the kit comes with (which is pretty good) and if the lines look too harsh, i blend it out with the other end of the brush. next time i order i am definitely stocking up on these babies
