BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
JKra 1/16/2013 11:55:00 AM
I have been trying this out the last few days. I am combination skin and I like it so far. I think I am going to start skipping my moisturizer with it and I'm not sure about the powder because it does have a nice dewy finish to it. Oily gals will probably not like this product because it is very dewy. Another thing to mention is that a little goes a long way (I keep dispensing too much) and since the tube is so big it is a great value - $12 at Wal Mart. I'm NC30 and using the light medium. The coverage is a little more than a tinted moisturizer. I still use concealer around my nose. There are a lot of bad reviews on here. If you want an easy tinted moisturizer for days when you don't want a full face of makeup, this may be what you are looking for. It does NOT give very much coverage, just evens your skintone a little. There is a fragrance to this product that I wish was not there. It's not unpleasant but definitely noticable.

Liquid -Revlon - Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup

I've tried tons of foundations and I really like this one. I can't believe there are so many negative reviews. It is very creamy, medium-full coverage that still looks natural. I have combination skin. I've had no breakouts with this foundation. It lasts very well, blends very well...and just makes me feel more confident. The only drawback is the limited color selection.

Powder -Avon - Smooth Mineral Make-up
JKra 1/25/2012 1:57:00 PM
I was very surprised at the quality of this foundation. It provides medium, natural looking coverage and comes in many shades. The packaging has changed - the product is sealed off until you close it and shake it. It's a great design. I have light /medium golden skin and wear Sand Beige. I think I am MAC NC25. Don't let choosing a shade deter you from trying this. Avon is wonderful about exchanges.

Primer/ Corrector -Sally Hansen - sally hansen natural beauty inspired by carmindy luminizing face primer
JKra 1/7/2011 5:59:00 PM
It has a nice silky texture (like talc or silicone) but as others have mentioned, it is glittery. I don't like the glitter. I expected the "luminous" to be more of a irridescent glow, not glitter. I like the pump bottle but sometimes it does squirt out of the bottle in an odd direction.

Liquid -Avon - Healthy Makeup Liquid Foundation SPF 10
JKra 12/3/2010 8:44:00 PM
This makeup provides very light coverage and looked natural. I have oily skin and it felt comfortable all day. I would not repurchase because I really like a more medium coverage. I think this would be good for people with oily skin that want a light coverage - a little more than a tinted moisturizer. The bottle is pretty but it does not have a pump.

Liquid -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20
JKra 6/24/2010 3:13:00 PM
I have tried a lot of foundations and I am actually very impressed with this one! The 2 things that I want in a foundation are: 1. natural looking medium coverage 2. that it does not make my face feel oily. I have combo-oily skin and sometimes foundations can make me feel like an oil slick after a few hours. I would rather wear no foundation then have that feeling. Neutrogena Healthy Skin looks natural and I don't even have to touch up with powder during the day! I have been using Mark (by Avon) mattenifficant pressed powder to set this it when I apply in the mornings. I think there is only one formulation so I don't know if it would work for people with dry skin. The consistency is a little thick. I think I may try to blend with a foundation brush. I have been using my fingers to apply. It easily floats over my larger pres and really does look very natural. I prefer a medium coverage but I can see that it is buildable for a full coverage if you prefer. My color is #60 Natural Beige. I am MAC NC25. Best of all this product is always on sale. I bought some Neutrogena products at ULTA on sale for buy 2 get 1 free. So it probably cost about $10. Good luck! EDIT: Dang, I think this was making me break out... :P EDIT: This made me break out. Too bad because I did like it a lot.

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Inspired By Carmindy Natural Beauty Your Skin Makeup ] [DISCONTINUED]
JKra 5/13/2010 3:49:00 AM
It didn't work for me. Did I get a bad (old) product? I don't know. It went on smoothly in the store (ULTA has testers) but when I tried to use it at home it dried really quickly and that made it difficult to blend. I didn't like the way it felt on my face. It is a medium to full coverage. I love having a pump but this one squirts out too much product.

Liquid -Avon - Ideal Shade Liquid Foundation
JKra 5/13/2010 3:45:00 AM
I tried this foundation but it is not good for women with larger pores. It immediately settled into my pores and made them more obvious. It was not good for me specifically for that reason alone. I gave it 3 stars because it does have a nice, light, silky feel so I know a lot of women would like it. The smell is noticable but not bad. It's kind of a "nutty" smell.

Liquid -Cargo - Foundation - Oil Free
JKra 2/27/2010 1:24:00 AM
I have been using this foundation for the past 2 weeks. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: Foundation is not orangey - colors are very nice. Very natural looking light/medium coverage. Did not make me break out. Felt smooth and comfortable all day. Feels creamy and emollient yet not greasy. Cons: I didn't get it on sale. It's a little pricey -about $32. Does not last all day. I live in a very mild environment - it was about 75 degrees and breezy outside today. This makeup faded significantly by late afternoon. I wouldn't bother with it at all if I lived in a warmer/humid area. Sweat would definitely wash it away. Does not "build" coverage. I guess this point is arguable. It did not build well for me - not that it matters since the foundation wears off anyway. I bought this in shade F-40 and it is a great match for my olive skin tone. I think I am a MAC NC25-can't quite remember becuase I haven't used MAC in so long. ;( I am "Warm Golden" in Colorstay if that helps. I used this with Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. It helped build the coverage a little and even out my skintone. Overall, it's a nice foundation if you are looking for lighter/medium natural coverage. I like the product. I just wish it was a little less expensive and longer wearing. However, if it were longer wearing it probably wouldn't look or feel as natural, which are two of the things I really like about it. I don't feel it on my skin at all which is something I really like in a foundation. Oh, you can also see that it comes in non-traditional packaging. It's kind of a modified squeeze tube. It makes it very easy to control the amount of product you want. I would probably buy this again because it feels good on my skin. I'll keep experimenting with other foundations too, however, looking for my HG. ;) EDIT: I like it but I won't buy it again. It wears off too easily. EDIT (again): I'd buy it again. It's just not good for hot days. I've been setting it with Mark (by Avon) Matte-nifficant powder and it really extends the life of the foundation. It's great and doesn't break me out.

Hair Color -Clairol - Natural Instincts in 36 Midnight - Neutral Black
JKra 2/26/2010 2:09:00 AM
I just colored my hair with this product. My original/natural color was a little lighter than Ebony Mocha 35 so I was deciding between the two colors. I was a little scared to use this 36 Midnight because some of the reviews on here said it was "blue-black." That is not true in my case. The color did come out a little darker than the picture on the box. The tones are definitely VERY DARK natural brown/black. NOT blue-black. My hair had red undertones before I dyed it and you can see those a tiny bit. If you read the box it says that this color will maintain your natural undertones - I'd say that is true. I think my red undertones will come back as this color fades and they will probably be visible pretty quickly in the sunlight. I had a some gray (maybe 5%) so I left the dye on for the full 20 minutes before I rinsed. I am happy with the color and shine and will update as to how well the color lasts. EDIT 4-13-10 I am really impressed with this color. It's been about 2 months and my color is still darker than when I first colored it. The color did not totally wash out. My greys are definitely coming back (I'm only about 5% grey) but overall, the color really hangs in there. In the sun I can actually see my roots a little. It is not that noticeable since my hair is already dark brown. I wouldn't recommend this for somebody who expects it to wash out or with lighter hair looking for a temporary change. Good luck!! EDIT: 12-9-10 FYI: This color NEVER washes out. I don't know why they are marketing it as temporary. It is definitely permanent. My hair has a definite line of demarkation.

Powder -Merle Norman - Luxiva Ultra Powder Foundation
JKra 1/20/2010 10:30:00 PM
I love it. Great color selection, sheer to medium coverage, cute-ish compact. It does not break out my oily skin. As with most powder foundations, it will emphasize flakiness if you have any. However it's hard to find in my area and it costs about $30. It is a great product. EDIT: I just found a great dupe for this product. Avon's "Mark." brand makes a very similar powder foundation called Powder Buff. It's very similar and cheaper but offers a limited color selection.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Beyond Natural Cream to Powder Eye Shadow
JKra 1/17/2010 1:47:00 AM
I wish I would have read the comments here before I bought this product. As with their Colorstay eye shadow, this product does not have enough pigment! It just made my eyes look...shiny. I tried to use it as a base but it's not thick and creamy enough and it doesn't last. It just kind of made the other shadow look...muddy? I gave it 2 lippies instead of 1 because the colors (if they would re-do the formulation) are really pretty. I bought it in the neutral browns (can't remember the name because I already threw it away :P) The packaging is effective. I tried it about 3 times then threw it away. Bye bye $6!

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad "In the Buff"
JKra 1/17/2010 1:41:00 AM
I used this product to do my little sister's eye makeup. The colors in the package looked really pretty BUT there is not enough pigment. They are just too sheer - no real definition between colors. I kept re-dipping and adding color but it didn't make a difference. I gave them 2 lippies because they are really pretty colors and you could probably get more leverage with an eye shadow base or with really dark colors not nudes. I guess they would be good starter eye shadows for a younger girl. The packaging is effective - nothing special. I won't buy them again.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
JKra 1/17/2010 1:35:00 AM
I always come back to Colorstay. I have oily skin and this foundation is the only one I can find that doesn't make my skin feel oily. I literally forget to retouch my powder whereas with other foundations, my skin feels greasy by mid morning. I hate that feeling. PROS: It doesn't make me break out. The colors are fabulous. I have olive toned skin and usually have trouble with foundations looking to orange/golden on me. This color doesn't change throughout the day. It really does last and feel fresh! You forget your'e wearing it. CONS: It is medium to full coverage. I really prefer a sheer to medium coverage which is why I always stray from this product eventually. I try to apply it sparingly but it's hard because it does dry fast as you apply. I use the oily skin formula. If my skin is a little dry, it really emphasizes any flakiness. The bottle needs a pump - bad planning on Revlon's part. I see that they've come out with a lighter (sheerer) version of Colorstay in Mineral Makeup - I may try that. EDIT: I just bought a new bottle and it no longer says "softflex" I wonder if it's the same.

Foundations -The Body Shop - All-In-One Face Base
JKra 1/17/2010 1:26:00 AM
I really love The Body Shop's skincare line and really wanted to like their makeup. I am a "Love your Body" member and am loyal to many things there. However, this foundation is nothing special. It's not horrible; it feels light, does not aggrivate my oiliness, and evens out my skin a little bit BUT (like some of the other reviewers said) that the foundation is a little chalky looking and the coverage is pretty sheer. My mom and sister both commented on the "cute compact" but I don't like that either. :( I'm constantly fumbling with the little button on the inside to get to the sponge applicator. I'll use it up but I won't buy it again.
