Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Eyeliner Brush

Ah! I bought this at the same time as SK gel liner and HANDS DOWN my favorite. Best decision I made and probably one of the cheapest combination of makeup I've bought that worked great! So first things first, I love the case it comes with, I still use it and never leave my brush out just cause I care alot about it- plus it makes it easy to just stick it in my purse with its SK gel liner partner for work and play. The handle's a bit long, but doesn't bother me at all. It's held its shape after washing, but the makeup comes off easily if I wipe it gently with Neutrogena makeup remover cloths. It's seriously cheap and applies my liner however I want it, whether I want a thin or thick line. I love this brush, and if you're considering a cheaper alternative of MAC eyebrush OR liner, Sonia Kashuk is the way to go. Love love love!!!!

Eyeliner -Sonia Kashuk - Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Liner

OMG! Love LOVE this! I used MAC gel liner ($32) for a while, and I have to say that SK is JUST better. Unlike Mac eyeliners that run down my eyes after a couple hours, SK does not! Not on my skin at least. I was so shocked by the performance of this $8 dollar gel liner, I would recommend it for those on budget and want quality at the same time. It's bold, but doesnt give you the fake black look. It also does the trick in making your eyes look bigger! Another thing I would point out is that it's quite gentle on my eyes, I have MAC pencil liners too and when I used them my eyes would turn blood red from irritation but this doesn't happen with SK at all! It also looks good with those that like to do the bottom part of the eye and doesn't run much when applied on the waterline. One recommendation I would make would be to buy the eye brush ($10-19) with it, the handles a bit long, but I like it and have NO problem everytime i use it. So now, everyday I'm SO happy with this and I'm eye-makeup worry free every morning because I know I'll look good!

Liquid -100 Percent Pure - HEALTHY SKIN FOUNDATION WITH SUPER FRUITS SPF 20 (full coverage / satin finish)
rated 5 of 5
JDNT 8/4/2010 7:26:00 AM

I was convinced after seeing the rave reviews that I needed to try this foundation and I simpley LOVE it! It's a little pricey, but comparable to Estee Lauder so I didn't mind it that much. Another thing why I let the price slide by is because it's healthy for the skin (I'm just taking their word for it). The foundation is really light and silky. I was really impressed by the way it glided on nicely during application. It covered my pigmentation and even the dark circles around my eyes. So I really like it. The only problem I ran into is that I started using Aqua Glycolic face wash and it's making my face peel- so the foundation does NOT look good with really dry/flaky skin. It'll make your face look flaky unless you're on top of it. I would recommend a really good moisturizer for dry skin before applying PURE's foundation. Exfoliating and a primer would also be good. Layering is key for trouble spots. Then just be patient and let it dry. It's really beautiful in normal light. DEFINITELY worth a try!

Shampoo -Organix - Tea Tree Mint Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

I forgot to buy a conditioner so I actually just use the shampoo without it and my hair is perfect. I've also never colored my hair, so maybe that's why it doesn't work for some people. I switch between this and the cherry blossom ginseng shampoo and both work equally well in my opinion. The one thing I really love is the smell. It's mint so it really wakes and relaxes me in the morning. I think some of the problem is from people not knowing how to properly treat their scalp. Even the best shampoo won't work if you don't use it correctly. So. Add a dollop in your palm and work it in your hair (I get a good lather going so I don't know about the complaint), next, face the showers so not a lot of water get on your head, while you do this massage into scalp, almost digging (not with your nails!) then just rinse. No conditioner needed. Works wonderful. Don't forget to inhale the scent! It's just so relaxing!

Shampoo -Organix - Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

When I was buying this brand I accidentally bought two organix shampoos instead of a conditioner. So I basically use this without conditioner. But I think you can use this without conditioner! I've been using it for a week or two and my hair always feels moisturize and not over dried at all. The smell is wonderful to the nerves and I'm always so excited to take a shower since we bought this. The packaging is great for girly-girls (I love pink!) In the future I will buy an organix conditioner to see optimum results, but for now, I'm satisfied.

Mascara -Avon - superSHOCK Mascara
rated 4 of 5
JDNT 7/23/2010 2:13:00 AM

I have this in navy color and it's great and not so great. Here's the thing, Avon superSHOCK mascara is only good for 1-2 coats- why? Because anymore than that and eyelashes starts clumping and you find yourself frustrated and removing it to re-apply. It's just not practical. Another impractical thing is the size, IT'S HUGE! I wouldn't be comfortable pulling this out at a restaurant and applying. But I don't mind these because the good outweighs the bad. It gives a nice subtle 'blue' color. It's light on the eyelash (1-2 coats remember!) and plus it's fun to try out a different color than just black all the time. Removal is easy enough with neutrogena makeup removers, and it also stays on all day (not sure if you go in water though, so caution!) Overall, I would buy again. 4 stars for above average performance and durability.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Cortizone 10
rated 5 of 5
JDNT 7/23/2010 2:03:00 AM

I've been having blemishes on my cheeks, which at first I thought was just my genes, but then after some investigation, I found out it was caused by my estee lauder double wear light foundation! I bought this cortizone cream and just dabbed and massaged it on the affected area (wash your face first) and within a day the 5-month old inflammations and blemishes went down. Also, one of the inflammations was really red and almost a dime size and it looked like it had liquid/pus- but the cortizone cream dried it out and now it's almost gone (it's only been three days since I started using this product). Definitely recommended to be in your emergency make-up kit. In case your favorite cosmetic happens to be the culprit.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - More Than Mascara
rated 3 of 5
JDNT 7/23/2010 1:53:00 AM

This mascara is beautiful on the eyelash. It doesn't clump and depending on how many coats you put on, it can make you look like a mystery on heels. My only qualms about is that, say, you're with your boyfriend and things are getting pretty hot and heavy, don't count on this mascara to stay on. It'll bleed all over the area below your eyes. But if you're having fun, I don't think you or your mate will care very much!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
rated 2 of 5
JDNT 7/23/2010 1:37:00 AM

This was referred to me by a beautiful relative and was my very first high-end foundation. I already had problems from the very beginning, such as price ($37 tax included), you just can't see someone who's a senior in high school being able to afford this all the time. But I thought that since it's 'high-end' it'll be well worth my money. I was wrong. First things first though, the pros. I found that this foundation is really good for evening out complexion, and if used with a brush (fingers works too) it gives you a 'porcelain' look. It feels very light and can cover dark areas around the eyes. Very pretty. I got compliments all the time! The cons. Objectively, as I've said, it's pricey. Another thing is that this makeup is designed to last about two-three months, I found that after that time, the shade would get darker and 'orange-y' which did not match the color it was initially. On the subjective view, even though it did give me porcelain skin, the coverage wouldn't cover blemishes (it's very sheer coverage) and then, months later I found out that my blemishes that I've had for months and wouldn't go away- was caused by this very foundation! It said non-acnegenic so I never expected it to be the cause. In the end I had to return it and invest on a different foundation. Two stars because it served some purpose, but hurt my skin.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer blush in Peachykeen
rated 5 of 5
JDNT 7/22/2010 1:39:00 AM

First things first, I'm one of those fair ethnics with warm undertones who is constantly on the search for blushes that give me a subtle 'flushed' look. MAC peachykeen does just that. It's beautiful for one layer application for a soft cute look (and with a brush you can blend and blend and blend), and then you can layer some more to your liking (for tanned skin). It goes on smoothly that you can't even feel any grain. The amount is decent enough for the price ($18 .21oz) and gives a look anyone can be pleased with. I imagine this blush looks amazing from fair to tan colored skin. The price, compared to other high end cosmetics is agreeable to me. For those looking for cheaper NARs blushes alternatives, for the price and quality, MAC is the way to go.

Eyeliner -Avon - Glimmersticks eye liner
rated 5 of 5
JDNT 7/22/2010 1:26:00 AM

I have this in soft black and it looks very good. I just like the normal look and don't really smudge it alot, but occasionally I do and it's perfect for both looks. This worked so well I stopped using my Shu Uemura liquid (glitter) eyeliner and lancolme brown eye liner after awhile. The only downside is that sometimes it won't glide on smoothly and I have to reapply- but it's not a big problem because this rarely happens. Definitely recommended eyeliner (I got mine as a gift, but the price doesn't seem to be outrageous).

Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Advanced Care Moisturizing Cream
rated 5 of 5
JDNT 7/21/2010 7:54:00 PM

This product is a miracle to super dry skin! I instantly saw a difference within minutes after application. It soothes extra dry skin and keeps your skin soft and comfortably moist. It's a little pricey ($9.00 6oz) but WELL WORTH the money. Works fast and soothes itching (for me at least) too. I love everything about this product especially the non-flamboyant packaging. It gives a kind of 'homey feeling.' The last thing: it's good for arms, legs, heels, elbows, neck and back. That's the only thing I don't like about this product. It works so well for almost everywhere it certainly won't last three weeks if you apply everywhere. The redeeming quality is that a little goes a long way!
