Lip Treatments -L'Oreal - le balm in caramel comfort

I've been eying this color for quite some time and finally got a coupon so I went for it. The color isn't like other nudes I own. It's quite different on my lips. More of a touch of coral in it. I'm glad it has no pink in it, however. It is a unique color for me and I think it would suit warm skin tones. The texture seems a tiny bit gritty and there is a sweet smell and a taste. The taste is a little unpleasant, and I'd rather it have no taste. It has a nice shine to it and looks great with bronzer. At my Walmart it's $5.99. You can catch these on sale at Ulta buy one get 50% off sometimes.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Major Distraction
rated 4 of 5

This trio caught my eye the most. It has a soft, shimmery teal, a darker matte brown and a matte pale pink. The colors are beautiful together. I especially like the teal. I use the included applicator, which is surprisingly good quality, with the pointy tip and use the teal as an eyeliner. It shows up more blue than green teal but still brings out the green in my brown eyes. I think this teal would be great for any eye color. It's very pretty with the pale pink on the lids. I also use the brown as a smudged eye liner. It's a great color that is very versatile. The pale pink barely shows up on my light skin and can be used as a highlighter under the brow bone. All the colors amazingly lasted all day, with the teal staying most vivid, over concealer and BB cream without an eye primer. I'm very pleased with this palette and unlike the older palettes, these are flat on top so they are stackable. Recommended.

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
rated 1 of 5

After seeing several youtube gurus using this product, I thought what the heck and ordered it when they were having free 2 day shipping. However, I was terribly disappointed with Select Cover Up. First of all, the shade didn't match the same shade in the Studio Fix Fluid Foundation. The concealer was much lighter than the foundation and left my skin looking ghostly and ashy. It also dries too quickly and is hard to blend. Not only does it dry too quickly, but it is also drying on the skin. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. Note: I sent it back to MAC and ordered the Pro Longwear concealer and was instantly in love with this long lasting concealer which was completely opposite of Select Cover up. The rep, over the phone, helped me find the right shade and it is perfect. I only need this and my bb cream and my face looks flawless all day.

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
rated 5 of 5
JChrisBee 7/25/2012 1:59:00 PM

The perfect matte concealer. Tried the concealer in the tube (Select Cover-up) and hated it. It was hard to blend and dried too quickly. Pro Longwear is amazing. It does dry pretty quickly but still leaves time to blend it out with fingers. I don't use a brush for this and my fingers work perfectly. It dries to a matte finish and is amazing for under-eyes and redness around the nose. It didn't draw attention to any lines around my eyes. I really am in love! This concealer covered all redness from allergies and broken veins. The great thing is that it looks so natural, just like my skin but obviously better.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Meow EDP by Katy Perry

If I could create a personal fragrance, this would be it. I've been looking for a vanilla-ey fragrance that wasn't too strong or sweet and that didn't smell burnt or plasticky. This is it! I really love it and I plan on wearing it everyday. I purchased the 1 oz. at Ulta for $36. I think it's great and doesn't smell too "young" either. The bottle is adorable and has a nice feel to it. I'm surprised and the quality and scent. Perfect for summer and a great gift for cat lovers.

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - Eternity Summer 2012

Thought this smelled good in the bottle so I sprayed it on my wrist and oh my. It really smells awful. The bottle is so beautiful so I was really hoping to find a true summery fragrance. This stuff smells like honeysuckles and water lilies. I don't smell anything like what the description states...Top Notes: Japanese Pear, Bergamot, Orange Blossom Heart Notes: White Peony Petals, Gardenia, Blue Hyacinth Base Notes: White Musks, Tonka Bean, Heliotrope. Didn't smell pear at all. Also, I think I've smelled something very much like this. I wouldn't purchase this without trying it on your skin first. Oh, I remembered what it smells like. You know those little scented toilet paper roll holders? Take that and mix it with some of grandma's bath soaps and you'll get Eternity Summer.

Styling Products -Redken - Align 12
rated 5 of 5
JChrisBee 5/14/2012 12:41:00 AM

My stylist used this on my hair kind of as you would use a mousse. I have very thick, wavy hair that is medium long. The kind of thick that causes every stylist to comment on how thick it is. This product is amazing and has tamed my waves and frizz. I don't typically straighten it, but this balm works wonders on my hair even after blow drying on high heat. I use one half pump and spread it through the lower half of my hair only. The smell is pretty strong and lingers on your hair and hands. I'm not sure how I feel about the smell, but my husband commented on how nice my hair smells. I'm okay with the scent, and I guess since it is unisex it had to be non-girly. I'm impressed with how long my hair stays frizz free and it's not weighed down. You have to find the right amount for your type of hair, though. I guess that's obvious, but if you find your hair looks greasy you may need to use a clarifying shampoo and use a lighter conditioner when you use this balm. I am definitely going to keep on buying it and actually have used it more than their Fresh Curls.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Pure Ice Nail Polish - Fast Lane
rated 5 of 5
JChrisBee 5/6/2012 11:33:00 PM

A gorgeous shimmery, soft golden almost champagne color. Very nice for summer and would be great for every day wear. Goes well with short nails. Worked best with two thin coats and Seche Vite top coat. Polish is not gloppy at all. Just make sure the coats are thin or you will get streaks. Nice, pleasant surprise for under $2 at Walmart.

Cleansers -Jergens - All-Purpose Face Cream
rated 5 of 5
JChrisBee 4/30/2012 10:03:00 PM

I'm the kind of person that likes to feel the lotion on my face. I like to know it's there. I don't need it to be too heavy like a discontued Mary Kay night cream I used to use. I loved the stuff for dry skin but it really weighed down my eyelids. So.... I'm not sure why I have never heard of this product until now. I stumbled across it at Amazon and was amazed at the price and reviews. I went to Walmart and bought a jar for less than $4. Couldn't believe it. (It doesn't come sealed so you have to check to make sure no one has touched inside of it.) I didn't even know that you could remove makeup with it. I'm not very schooled on cold creams and their uses. I had been using Pond's cold cream that I picked up in India while I was there and was impressed with the thickness. I think the formula is identical to the Mexican Pond's available at Walmart, as well. But after using Pond's, my t-zone was still dry the next day. For now, I'm needing some extra help for my dryness, and this Jergens face cream is doing the job. I used it to remove my makeup and removed with a warm wash cloth. I had no irritation from it and my eyes didn't sting either. Afterwards, I made sure my makeup was removed by using a cotton ball with a few drops of witch hazel. I had missed some makeup, but it wasn't the face cream's fault. After that, I put some more face cream on again and wiped off the excess with a tissue. My face feels wonderfully soft and protected. No dry, itchy feeling at all. A nice plus is that my lips feel like they have a lip balm on , as well. I wish I had known about this product sooner.

Lipstick -NYX - Chambord
rated 5 of 5
JChrisBee 4/29/2012 9:39:00 PM

After unsuccessfully trying to pick out a color that looked good on me, I finally found Chambord. I would say it is a very light, warm toned peachy golden bronze. I find it hard to describe because it doesn't look like the tube color after its applied on the lips. It is so beautiful and looks great with bronzer, some peach blush and a neutral eye. The lipstick itself is surprisingly long lasting, especially for the price, but not very moisturizing for me. I would take off a lippie for that, but I love the color too much.

Bronzers -Unlisted Brand - Revolution Beauty Balm - Bronzed
rated 4 of 5
JChrisBee 4/20/2012 9:41:00 PM

This is an organic, 100% natural coconut oil based balm that is purported for use just about anywhere- eyes, cheeks, décolletage, and lips. It is a super natural brown red color that is perfect for use on the lips. It didn't show up with two swipes on my light skin for use as a blush and the color looked terrible on my eyelids. It comes in just less than half an ounce in a plastic "chap stick" style container sold in a cardboard tube with lid. With .5 oz. this stuff will last me forever, since I'm just using it as a lipstick substitute. At $36, the stuff is way overpriced, hence the reason I won't be repurchasing. I got mine with April's Birchbox. I would have never known about it otherwise.

Fragrances -BCBG Fragrance - Max Azria
rated 5 of 5

Amazing smell. I love the fruity floralness of it. Even my mother-in-law likes it and commented on how nice it smelled. Not too sweet and not so fruity like Bath and Body Works, just a little more sophisticated. Smelled the magazine strip and also ordered it that day.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Hug Me
rated 5 of 5
JChrisBee 3/29/2012 6:06:00 PM

Got this today from nordstrom.com with free shipping/ returns. Hug Me is a "flesh toned pink". I think I would add to this slightly gold toned, browned pink. The perfect everyday pink. Looks beige in indoor lighting and more pink in the sunlight. I thought I wanted Hue, but Hug Me looks just perfect for me.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Volume Boost - Fudge Brownie
rated 4 of 5
JChrisBee 3/28/2012 6:53:00 PM

Looks to be discontinued but you can still pick these up on ebay and other discontinued outlet stores. Fudge Brownie is a shimmery golden caramel brown in a medium shade. Not too light or dark and I can imagine it looking very pretty on asian or darker skin tones. On me, it looks like a very pretty slightly coppery caramel mauve color that suits my skintone perfectly.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Shineblast
rated 1 of 5
JChrisBee 3/25/2012 5:11:00 PM

I waited to pick a few of these up until Walgreens was nearly throwing them away, the price was so low. At less than $2 they were being clearanced out so I rummaged through the few left. I found a pretty looking gloss called Ablaze and another I can't remember. I could barely wait until I got home to try them. When I did, i was equally disappointed. No color payoff, they both looked the same on the lips but different in the tube. Ablaze looked so pretty like a warm flame, but no color payoff at all was noticeable. But, the smell was what made me return them. An awfully strong watermelon smell invaded my every breath. I can't remember if they tasted bad, but the smell drove me nuts and nearly made me sick to my stomach. First time ever a gloss did that to me. These glosses deserve less than one star.
