Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Dr. Dennis Gross-Trifix Acne Clearing Lotion
Isletfemme 2/27/2011 9:12:00 AM
This product did not clear up my skin. It was not drying, but it did break out my skin even more. My existing acne became larger. I cannot continue to use this product, and I am very disappointed and disgusted with all the false claims.
After hearing of this product for many years, I finally gave it a try. It inflamed the acne. One pimple was more than double the size, and extremely tender, the day after using this. I will not repurchase, and have tossed my bottle.
Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Elta MD UV Clear SPF 46
Isletfemme 8/17/2010 11:23:00 PM
In the past, I have tried virtually every mainstream sunscreen/block available. My skin cannot tolerate natural, chemical or even organic sunscreen. This product was just another disappointment. I bought this product with great hope, after reading many positive reviews in the media, and did not mind the steep price. My face broke out, and became rough after using this. It did not leave a white cast, but I cannot continue to use a product that ages instead of protects my skin. I will use the remainder on my neck and chest. Zero stars!
Another much hyped product that did not deliver. Dried out, and broke out my face. Also left my skin feeling as though there was some sort of film sitting on my skin. Will not repurchase.
Now I know, definately that no matter who pedals a product, it is all a load of s**t! I bought the ultra gentle line, hoping to balance my extremely sensitive, oily with dry patches, skin. The line sent my skin into a tailspin! First, the cleanser dried out my skin. So did the toner. Whenever I used the toner, my skin became very tight, so I discontinued usage of the toner. The brightening complex turned my skin a weird color. It made my skin blotchy, with a strange pink hue. Sort of like brown skin, with a pink undertone. I had to stop using it. At first, I thought that the moisturizer was the best I had ever used, but the more I used it, the drier my skin became. I tried adjusting the amount of product I used, but nothing seemed to work. I am very disappointed with this line, more so than other lines, because of the claim that the products were made specifically for people of color. Just to show. Skincare deceivers come in many shades, and will do anything for the almighty dollar. I will never purchase again, and regret the day I read the article about this line of products.
Lotions/ Creams -Kate Somerville - Goats Milk Cream
Isletfemme 8/24/2008 2:53:00 AM
Another let down product. I bought this cream because I have sensitive, acne prone skin. The cream dried out, and broke out my skin. It also sat on top of my skin, without absorbing. I tried adjusting the amount I applied, but to no avail. I will not repurchase.
Did nothing but dried out,and break out my skin. I used two bottles of this crap, back to back, consistently. None of my lines improved, and like so many other "wrinkle" products, this actually made my skin look worst. Will never purchase again.
Moisturizers -Phytomer - Accept Neutralizing Cream
Isletfemme 5/10/2008 2:33:00 AM
Another zero stars product. I was advised to use this product by sephora custore service, via email. The cream feels great going on, but within a couple of hours, my skin becomes dry, with light flaking. My skin is dry, overly sensitive, acne prone, and cannot tolerate oily products. Everytime I use the cream, my skin breaks out with at least three large, raised bumps. I cannot finish this s%#t product, and will never purchase again. I repeat, Zero f%$king stars!!!!!!!!!!!
After reading the great reviews for this in Allure, and other magazines, I gave it a try. The mascara does everything it claims, but it made my eyes water. I can bear with watery eyes for a couple of hours, but not five. I gave it a break, came back to it, and my eyes began to water again. I had to toss it out, and will never purchase again.
Another much hyped product that, despite what others say, DID NOT deliver for ME. I bought this with great expectations, and because of it's poor performance, I will never expect a product to work again. My eye area stayed moisturised for about two hours, then reverted back to being dry, and fine lined. This overpriced bottle of ( four letter word ) left my dry, bumpy looking, sensitive, prematurely fine lined, acne prone, cannot tolerate oil based products skin, with tiny, white bumps at the far corners of my eyes. While they may be hard to see by some, I did not expect the cream to make my skin this much worse: I cannot get rid of the bumps. Again, I do not understand how some companies can make these great false claims, and not pay the price for false advertising. I will never purchase from chanel again, not makeup, or skincare, or clothes. Sublimage did nothing but cause me to become more cynical and stressed about my skin, and how in the world am I ever going to find the right products for my skin.
If you know of my other reviews, you will be able to tell the direction this review will take. I had extra high hopes for this product. I gave it a chance, despite the fact that my skin has not been able to tolerate Murad's other harsh products. I tried the solution for about seven weeks, and these are the results: Around the eye area, I developed new tiny creases. The product dried out my skin, and also caused breakouts; large raised bumps on my skin, that occurs when my skin is greatly irritated. I also have a small, freaky looking patch of milia in the upper area of my right eye orbit. I say shame on the "scientists" at Murad for touting this product as some sort of panacea of the the skin. I definately will not purchase again, nor will I ever use another Murad product, not even a sample size. Zero stars for this product, and for Murad himself.
Treatments -Patricia Wexler MD Dermatology - Anti-Aging Kit from BBW
Isletfemme 3/14/2007 6:48:00 AM
The entire kit, along with it's "founder", deserves zero lips! How is it that people are allowed to make scientific claims, attach these claims to products that do not deliver, and still be allowed to market their lies? I fell for the great wexler hoax, and purchesed this kit. Used it for approximately six weeks, which is enough time to determine if MY skin can tolerate a product. It did nothing but break out, and irritate my skin. Dried out, and actually aged my skin. When I first heard wexler's theory, I belived that the claims were factual. But all I am left with is a bitter taste in my mouth after using yet another line that does not work, and a lighter wallet. I do not believe in wexler, and will never purchase any of her products.
Here I go again, believing the hype. Another product to add to my ever expanding pile of products that do not work. This came in a kit I bought on ebay. It broke out my skin, causing large red, itchy bumps. And after only three days of usage. I will not buy this product again, nor will I be purchasing anything with the name wexler attached!
I bought this product after reading the great reviews in the media. Another much ballyhoo product that did not live up to the hype. It feels great going on, but after about two hours, my skin has that good old dehydrated feel to it again. If I re-apply, the process begins again. I will not be repurchasing this. A wate of money.
Treatments -L'Oreal - Line Eraser Pure Retinol Concentrate
Isletfemme 8/7/2006 10:38:00 PM
I purchased and used this product about two years ago. It did nothing but dried out and break out my face. Did noting to erase the few fine lines that I have. I will never purchase this product again.
