Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish - Mango Tango [DISCONTINUED]

You can really get this blush to go very wrong if don't apply with a light hand! I was in a rush one day and just did my usually routine. That was a NONO! If you have a MAC 187 brush or one like it I would use that to apply this blush. I would also was the brush right after using it because it took me several washes to the white tips back white. This blush does give a nice pop of color once you get the application down. It's a bright coral pink.

Murad SPF smells gastly. I was out in the sun all day it did protect me but the smell make me want to hit the toliet pub. The smell was like burned lemons. I use the Murad line for my face and think is it exquisite. I do not like this SPF from Murad. It felt greasy.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Shiny-licious Cola Float
rated 3 of 5

I like the smell of this gloss but there is not taste to it. Downer cause it smells like pepsi cola. What a dream if they had one that smelled like taffy! The gloss is slippery on my lips. Blah. I don't really care for that at all. The color is a bronze color on my lips with hint of rose. I think that is my natural color coming through. This is a ok low priced gloss. I think it is like Mac lipgelee glosses. So I will stick to this and the Mac one since I really didn't like it.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Milk & Honey Body Lotion
rated 3 of 5
IsisNokomis 5/27/2005 11:08:00 AM

What is with the smell of the lotion. Yucky! The lotion seemed very watery. Not creamy like someone else said below. The smell is strong. I got this from a sample bag I bought. I have really dry skin on knees and this did nothing for them. I couldn't put this on my upper body so me have no idea if it works for normal skin. My lower body is dry. I would pass and try something else. I am using Nivea right now.

Lip Gloss -MAC - So Baroque LipGlass (Rococo)
rated 5 of 5
IsisNokomis 9/17/2004 12:34:00 AM

I love this gloss and I hate that I have fallen for yet another LE!!! This gloss is a bronzy gold color and IMO works best when applied lightly. I use this will whirl l/l and Mischievous l/s from the tempt me collection. It gives my lips this beautiful bronze gold look with out being overpowering or harsh for my fair skin.(LLL on the foundation chart) This is best applied with a lip brush to get a sheer look, for me if applied directly from the tube it's a bit over shimmery. I like the gold glow look not the I have caked on shimmer gold gloss look :) I can wear this with many e/s looks, I have currently used it with Greensmoke and Au contraire and it looks great with both colors. If you can get your hands on this before it is sold I would suggest giving it a try if you have been looking for a gold glow for the lips.

Blush -Cover Girl - Cheekers in Honey Rose
rated 4 of 5
IsisNokomis 9/17/2004 12:24:00 AM

I hate the smell of CG blushes, but since I only owned one I thought I would give this a try. I think this is LE but what a beautiful color. The name explains this color perfectly. It is rosy with a hint of a honey brown color. This gives a tanned rosy glow, does that make sense? I was surprised at the amount of pigment in this blush and how well it blends. I am fair but on the foundation chart I fall under LLL.

Treatments (Eye) -BeneFit Cosmetics - EyeCon
rated 4 of 5
IsisNokomis 9/17/2004 12:17:00 AM

I had this applied by an SA and was hooked! I ran back the next day and bought it. I have been looking for something that will tigthen my area, lighten my dark circles, and help with my fine lines. I haven't own this long enough to know how well it will help with fine lines and dark circles but I do know that this tightens my eye area and brightens my eye area instantly. I can apply this under or over my concealer. When I am wearing concealer I like to put this over and under the concealer to help keep my eye area moist all day. The price is not bad considering for the same size you can pay twice the money with other cosmetic lines for the same size. It comes in a little simple glass jar with a aqua/teal top. Nothing fancy about the little wrapper it's just got that little eye thingy, just like they show on the website. Which I found unusual for BeneFit, I always like their packaging. The bottle is a bit tiny, getting to the bottom might pose a bit of a challenge for some people. I have found the best way to apply this is with my ring finger with a feather light touch. I rub just until I feel that it is just coating the eye area. Rubbing it completely in doesn't seem to give the tightening effect or feeling. As I use this I will give updates. The SA told me that over time I will see more improvement, noticeable difference in 30 days.

Mascara -Sally Hansen - Maximum Growth Mascara
rated 4 of 5
IsisNokomis 9/10/2004 1:15:00 PM

I am blown away by this mascara. What I have right now is just the Try Me size that I picked up at Walgreens, it came with their fast and flawless concealer in clear. The color I have this in brownish black but it looks like black to me. I can't wait to try the black if the brown is this dark! When I first opened this mascara I thought great another flop, the mascara looked thick and that that usually means clumping, smuding, and stiff lashes for me. Oh and brush is the kind that remind of those twisted lollipops, the bristles are close but they twist up... if that makes since. Those brushes usually just suck (for the lack of a better word). Even the brush is great & that really surprised me! My HG is Maybelline Full 'n Soft and I don't see myself replacing it with this but to be used as a daily for beautiful less dramatic lashes this will do just fine. I did notice some clumping when I first swipe the mascara on but when I run the brush over the lashes again they go away. Someone said that this was not gloss enough for them but I found this to have a nice "wet" look to it. My lashes never feel stiff or heavy. A bonus for me is I don't have to use a curler with this mascara. I found this very easy to remove. Now length wise no this did not do some huge miracle, Lancome Definicils is the only mascara that I have found that could give me extra long lashes. This does give length but not WOW look at those! type length, more like, oh that looks like your natural length... When I did a comparasion to my naked lashes I found it made them 20% longer IMO. I don't know how much this mascara cost when bought in the regular size but I guessing it is average for a drugstore mascara. If you can find it in the TRY ME size I would rec'd trying it that way first!

Blush -Paula Dorf - Ballet cheek color
rated 4 of 5
IsisNokomis 9/9/2004 11:32:00 PM

This is a beautiful soft bubblegum pink blush. Some people have said there is a shimmer but I do no see it, I have even put a small dent to dig up the blush a bit and it is still matte IMO.I use Ballet with plenty of looks it works great with smoky eyes and nude lips! This color looks very bright in the container but goes on sheer.Almost anyone can wear this color. It converts great as an e/s. I am LLL.

Blush -Maybelline - You mauve me
rated 4 of 5
IsisNokomis 9/3/2004 11:06:00 PM

This is part of Maybelline's fall 2004 collection. It has a flannel like design of deep mauve shimmer but that quickly rubs off after just as few swipes, usually to me that is a bad thing and I thought it was at first but this color is beautiful. The shimmer seemed like it over powered the blush and made it too dark. IMO The color is a soft light mauve. This is one of the most natural looking colors on me that I have found in long time.I have found this color can be used with many looks which is a plus for me. I only gave it a 3 on product packaging because I simply hate blushes that come with crappy little brush that could just save me money if they didn't add it in there, besides who actually uses that thing? I don't know if Maybelline will continue to carry this color after the fall, I have not emailed them. I know they have adopted part of collections before to their regular collections,so we will see... Forgot to add that this color is a Fits most blush

Skincare - Face -New York Color - Gel Makeup Remover
rated 1 of 5
IsisNokomis 9/1/2004 3:20:00 PM

I really really wanted to like this. A gel m/u remover just sounded so nice! But at last this is crap in a bottle. IMO. I found it dried out my eyes and just moved the m/u around on my face. When I was done wiping it off my face feels tight and it broke me out! I tried using this with a tissue, washcloth and w/water but no luck! I am just glad it was cheap!

Makeup Brushes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Get Bent Brush
rated 4 of 5
IsisNokomis 8/27/2004 3:44:00 PM

I am looking forward to getting the NEW bent e/l brush with a shorter handle and hopefully more controlled hairs on the brush. I have had the older version for about a year now and I love it just for the bend in the brush.I did find that like many others my brush hairs are going in different directions. I found that when I clean the brush it is best to be as gentle as possible and when drying take some scotch tape and and wrap it around the brush hairs. You will want to have the sticky side of the tape facing outwards AWAY from the hairs so you can easily slip the tape off once the brush is dried. I find this helps keep the hairs in place. I like this for the ease of applying my e/l. I get the same results as other e/l brushes but this helps give me the control I need.

Lotions/ Creams -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bathina Sandal Scandal
rated 4 of 5
IsisNokomis 8/24/2004 7:00:00 PM

I used this product only twice and now several days later my feet still feel soft and smooth. I don't really care for the smell of this product. It kinda smells like BeneFit's Bathina Body So fine but there is something that smells a bit off. Otherwise, this really turned my feet around. I was getting tired of always scrubbing my feet. This is a great product but they should really lower the price!

Loose Powders -Milani - Brightener
rated 3 of 5
IsisNokomis 8/24/2004 6:41:00 PM

After reading the raves about this powder I thought I would give it a try. I wanted to like this product, I mixed this with a Milani loose powder in Sand because it was a bit too yellow for me. This powder feels heavy on my face and I think it is causing me to break out with whiteheads on my nose. I have used this product for a week now and I am disappointed in it's oil controlling. My foundation works nicely but when I get extra hot and my oil produces more I need a powder that will kick in and help my foundation out. At first I liked the small shifter containers but now I just find them to be a pain to open and the small shifter area is way too small for my powder brush. I changed them to a clean shifter jar I had left over from when I used BE minerals foundation. I think I will stick to my HG powder from SK.
*UPDATE* I have changed the No buy to Yes buy :) It still lacks a bit in oil control but it does help keep my blush colors true and it does not fade them. I did have a bit of breaking out (whiteheads only) when I started using this product but it is calming down now. I would rebuy this but only in the brightener. I do not like the colors at least for my skin which needs very neutral colors, not too much yellow or red.

Foundations -Shiseido - Pureness Matifying Compact Oil-free
rated 3 of 5
IsisNokomis 8/20/2004 8:58:00 PM

It's more like a maybe I might buy this but I left it as a yes only because I am not sure if it was the culprit for a breakout I got or the MUFE foundation. I use it as a powder but it works ok as a wet foundation(wet sponge) . I did notice I need to reapply at least once in my extra oily areas during the day on hotter days maybe twice. I like the cute little light blue compact. I just wish the refills cost a bit less.
