Lip Gloss -Stila - Strawberry Lip Glaze
Isabella07 8/22/2010 11:38:00 AM
I discovered this gloss back in 2000, at the time there were no Sephoria or ULTA in my state, I would wait and buy it on out of state trips (plus I was a student w/ no credit card yet so could not buy online), it is head and shoulders above any other red gloss out there. After I ran out (back in 2000). I spent years and money looking for a gloss that could rival it, but I found none. Usually red glosses are either overpowering (clown lips that you have to blot out), or it will give you a look of barely in red to it, basically a clear gloss w/ a hint of color. Stila strawberry is the only red gloss I'll buy.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Color Juice Raspberry Smash
Isabella07 8/11/2009 4:34:00 AM
I am a big fan of red lipgloss, my HG was always Stila's lip glaze in strawberry. However, I hate the high price of Stila's lip glaze, it always runs out too quicky, and the twist to use container w/ brush always left some gloss in it, but no matter how much you twist, you can't get it out. I went to Target and sampled as many red lip glosses as I could find. Target now is selling a line that's as expensive as Stila (it's a line created by a british lady, I forgot the name). Anyways, L'Oreal \'s Juice in Raspberry Smash out did everything, even the expensive glosses. It's also a very close match in color and texture to Stila's strawberry lipglaze. This gloss is thicker, more pigmented than so many red lip gloss/glazes, so the color actually will stay on your lips. The problem w/ a lot of red lipgloss/glazes, it looks good in the tube, but as soon as you apply it, you get just a hint of red, and it basically turns colorless fast. But this gloss will make your lips stay a cherry red, and unlike red lipsticks (which can sometimes look too clownish, too much), it will remain a soft glossy red.

Treatments -Nexxus - Vitatress Biotin Creme
Isabella07 6/14/2009 11:58:00 PM
** THIS PRODUCT IS ABSOLUTELY A MIRACLE WORKER, BUT ONLY WHEN MASSAGED INTO WET HAIR** Last summer I cut my long hair short impulsively, and I've been obsessed about growing it back super fast and better than before. I bought this product cause I was experiencing great results from taking biotin supplements. The first time I used it, I thought it was ok, had a mild cooling sensation. However, I wasn't in love w/ the results, and I hated applying it to dry hair cause it got on my hair a lot (instead of just the scalp) no matter how careful I applied it. I kind of put it on the shelf, didn't use it much. Then, I recently started to re-develop scalp psariosis, this causes me to have large acne looking bumps on mostly the top part of my scalp. I went online to find a way to stop this problem. The artlcles reccommended using products w/ a cooling sensation, etc. While I was in the shower, I remembered that the Nexus biotin cream gives a cooling sensation, so I massaged it into my fingers, then I massaged my entire scalp. I was BLOWN AWAY, this led to the most awesome cooling, tingling experience I have ever experienced; and by applying it to wet hair, it was so much easier to get the product on my scalp (not the hair). Overall, I think people who want the biotin treatment for their scalps should apply this on wet hair. I reccomend applying it after shampooing, massage it in all over your scalp (not the just the top of your head), lean over as far as you can (to let the blood rush to your head -as this aids in promoting better hair growth, etc.), then just let the biotin work it's magic while you wash, shave, etc. You could get out of the shower, and just let the biotin cream sit for as long as you want. The biotin will sink into your scalp skin a million times better than if you apply the stuff on a dry head. When you are done letting it sink in, wash it out w/ cool-to-cold water (this intensifies the cooling sensation more). After I dry off, get dressed, my scalp is still tingling, it feels so good, you'll feel it for quite a while.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
Isabella07 2/26/2009 1:57:00 AM
I've long been a fan of this base, probably cause I prefer a more liquid-like fondation, and this one has the gel like consistency which is great in the way it smoothes on very easily. I also like that I can use a lot or a little bit of product as I need it. With other brand foundations, I always notice that you can very easily use too much and look cakey, but not this one. It does not leave that "makeup" look on your skin, so guys can wear it too and not worry about looking like a guy who wears base on his face. It just makes your skin look as good as it can, I think it evens out skin tones, it covers a little, but if you need a good coverage, it's best you use concealer w/ it. I use #20 ivory, I am fair, and this shade is just a tad darker than I am, but it gives me a natural looking smooth tan-like glow; and as long as I blend it well, it's not an issue of being too dark. I don't like a foundation that makes my face all pale or almost white. If you are super pale (like Kelly Osbourne or Nicole Kidman) you might want to chose another shade that's lighter. Here's some pics on my myspace page, I am wearing this foundation : http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=104004526&albumID=492560&imageID=150802# This is the main page, you can click on pics, I'm wearing this makeup in both pics http://home.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Biotin (All brands)
Isabella07 2/6/2009 1:08:00 AM
I did not purchase this particular brand, I bought the Biotin 5000 mcg. from GNC. I had to share the good news, biotin is a miracle worker. I have medium-fine hair, which I had cut into a very short bob (w/ stacked layers in the back), the longest my hair would reach is to my chin. I did this back in August, because it was so hot, it was an impulse haircut. By November, I was tired of short hair, so I got extensions (cost $500), the plan was to wear them until my hair grew out, but since my hair was so short; my stylist had to cut layers (all around my head), to cover the top part of the extensions. I was fearful that if the extensions came all out, I would have a choppy looking hairdo. Anyways, by January, the extensions were looking ratty, so I took them out, my hair was in that awkward in-between stage. I read so many good things about biotin supplements, I decided to give it a try. I've been on the biotin pills for 1 month now, and it's amazing. What it did is , it made my hair a lot thicker than it ever was. It has added an extra layer of hair (all over), and the hair (that grows around the face) grows in more, as well as thickens. It also made my scalp line (on top of my head) close-up, it's less wide than it used to be. It also made my nails strong, almost as strong as having fake nails. This is a must have for everyone, I paid 30 bucks for 120 pills, and it's so worth it. The best way to describe it is this, it's like your hair is getting it's winter-coat (like dogs fur comes in more the winter -a dogs winter coat).

Concealers -Cle de Peau - Concealer
Isabella07 5/26/2008 1:17:00 AM
After reading the hype, I drove 3 hours to a store that sold this concealer. The sales person told me they have to hide it in a special locked area cause employees (who work in other areas of cosmetics) were stealing them, and she said they couldn't keep sample sticks out cause customers would steal them. Personally, I don't get why people are so crazy for this stuff, its not a miracle product and it doesn't have heavy duty concealing powers. It does have a nice coloring (I bought the lightest shade) it blends very well on my fair skin, its a really pure ivory. The texture is velvety, gives moderate coverage. I would buy it again if it were under 20 bucks, but $65 is insane and so not worth the drive and money.

Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - AHA Souffle 12 percent Glycolic AHA
Isabella07 5/1/2008 2:02:00 AM
After all these years, I was convinced that there was no such thing as hope in a jar, a miracle product, well this stuff proved me wrong, it is the real deal. The only thing is, you have to get your skin used to it, the stinging a bit is normal and some people have to go thru a purging process, but I guarantee its all worth it cause you'll have a complexion that you will marvel at everyday. I bought this product after reading the reviews, the 1st thing I noticed is how it makes the skin very, very soft and smooth (like baby's skin). Then I noticed that my skin (which has pink/red undertones) became even in tone, no more red face, I still have some pink but it looks like I have base on (that's covering up the high coloring I used to have). I used to never leave the house w/out base on, but now, I just dab some Oil of Olay SPF 15 lotion on and that's all I need, my skin looks better now w/out foundation, this product makes it look : plumped up. well hydrated, even in tone, smooth, acne free, and glowing w/ good health (regardless of what I eat or how much water I drink). The only lines I have ever had on my face were 2 little ones between by brows, but this stuff has softened them to the point where I barely notice them. I was so shocked by the results of AHA souffle, I couldn't help myself in going back to the store to buy more related products, so I got the AHA cleanser (the one w/ the red beads in it), and I also use my 12% Glycolic acid toner (DDF), I don't know if all these great results are just from 1 or all 3 products used together, but this will be my skin staple for life. Its absolutely essential that you use this stuff daily 2x, skipping will prolong the good effects, just stick w/ it, you'll be amazed!

Foundations -SKII - Air Touch Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
Isabella07 1/1/2008 11:35:00 PM
I bought this product based off of all the great buzz about it, and boy, is it the best thing ever. I am fair and have pink undertones. I tried this spray today, and I thought it made my skin look perfect, it makes it look like your skin is poreless, I had skin that looked like a perfect english rose complexion. After applying, I went out to dinner and while I was in the bathroom, a lady (who was staring at me) told me, "You have the prettiest complexion I have ever seen" , later that night, I stopped by Barnes & Nobles, and while walking towards the cafe, a older man walked past me, smiling, he said, "You're so pretty". I have never received compliments on my skin ever, until now and its all due to this miracle product. Believe the hype, this type of spray foundation will make your complexion glow and look like the skin of a baby. It will work on every skin type. So if you want the look of perfect skin (that doesn't look like you have obvious looking base on) this is the product for you. It will make you look as good as a Hollywood celebrity, finally, a product that gave me a perfect english complexion -after years of trying to find makeup that would do so. Also, I forgot to add that my complexion (w/ this spray foundation) blew away my husband, he told me that it makes me look like I have a face of a porcelain doll. This product is truly life changing, well worth $150 bucks. When you buy it, I promise you that you won't be able to take your eyes off your mirror, you'll get lost just looking at your dreamy complexion (absolutely no pores a perfect porcelain doll complexion).

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
Isabella07 12/30/2007 3:11:00 PM
Sarah Jessica Parker claims that that this TM was used on her character (Carrie Bradshaw), as well as the other girls' characters on Sex and the City. Sarah Jessica had a say in how the female characters looked, and she claims that real NYC women don't go around in a full face of makeup; so she had the makeup people on the set use the Laura Mercier TM -to give a pretty glow w/out the cakey foundation stage makeup look. I've been using this TM for 4 years now, its incredible cause it makes your whole complexion look fresher, and no flakes whatsoever. It actually has some good coverage to it, but it won't make you look like you're wearing a base. I've found all other TM's to be a joke compared to this, cause most other brands will just put a hint of color on your face, but won't cover anything. This TM does what every foundation "should" do (cover w/out looking flakey, cakey, or just obvious to others). I have not worn a regular foundation in years because this is all that you need to have beauitful skin, and if you want more coverage, just add some powder.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Eyeshadow Quad- Smokey Eyes
Isabella07 11/25/2007 2:32:00 AM
I saw a pic of Angelina Jolie in a mag and she had a great makeup job, she had a smokey eye using medium gray (from lid to crease), and then put dark gray/or/black in the crease itself. So I wanted to copy the look and this shadow selection was the closest to it (color wise). After applying, it was a dead-on match for Angelina's smokey eye look. If you're like me, you love a clean/neat looking smokey eye as opposed to the messy look that can happen w/ eye shadows that are too overpowering and often needs to be blended to death in order to look right. These shadows are perfect in application, they go on smoothly and instantly looks like the smokey eye you see in magazines, you barely have to blend and you don't have to wipe some of the product off on a tissue before applying it on your eyes. Another plus, you can keep building upon the color so you control the intensity of the color -makes a big difference when you aspire to have Collier Strong style of smokey eye instead of a overly heavy Tammy Faye Baker scary eye. Personally, I rather see a clean natural eye over an overly made up eye that's too much. This stuff will make your eyes "pop" and won't leave you looking scary. Great stuff for newbies to the smokey eye too.

Eyeliner -Lancome - Artliner
Isabella07 11/25/2007 1:59:00 AM
I bought this stuff based on the good reviews, but when I got it home to try out, I was disappointed that it was not easy to control (no more easier than any other liner on the market). Even the Lancome lady warned me that it takes practice to get it right, but I bought it anyway cause I was there and I was still hopeful. The only good thing about it is its nice consistency, it doesn't flake and is not watery or runny. Save your money and buy Cover Girl Line Exact -if you are looking for an easier liquid liner to apply, it has the same style felt tip like the Lancome liner, but it is in a much smaller tube so you can wrap your fingers around it very well -makes for easy application.

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Line Exact
Isabella07 11/25/2007 1:51:00 AM
The best thing about this liner is how small the tube is, it makes a difference when you try to control it, so you don't end up making mistakes. A larger tube is much harder to control, but this stuff is a cinch, and I haven't worn liquid liner in years cause I can only do 1 eye (the right one) correct, but usually botch up the left -it's a control problem that can be helped by holding a smaller tube, so you can really wrap your fingers around it -thus you have more control.

Toners -DDF - Glycolic Toner 10%
Isabella07 10/20/2007 4:11:00 AM
Here's the deal, this is the best toner on the market, period. The sales person at Sephora (who rung me up) told me this is a miracle product that will remove any and all traces of makeup, dead skin cells, etc from your pores. She was correct, it removes everything far better than any other toner. For those afraid of the big PURGE, there's a way to avoid the breakouts you'll initially get before this product does it's magic. My trick to this is after applying this toner, wait a few minutes (letting it sink in), then apply a gentle (non drying) cleanser to your face, then rinse w/ warm water. What happens here, is this toner will bring all that yucky stuff "up" in your skin, so if you leave it there, you'll break out -and your skin will not stop breaking out until you've used this toner enough times to where all that stuff is removed from your pores. Before I came up w/ this routine, I was torn over this product, cause I loved the way it cleaned out all that acne causing/pore clogging stuff out of the deep layers of my skin, but I hated the initial breakouts i got during the purging process. I decided it wasn't worth the breakouts, so I stopped using it. After a while, I decided to give it another shot, but this time, I would wash my face, then use this toner, then I would wash again (w/ a mild non drying cleanser). That was it, and BINGO, I found a way to not break out during the purging process. BTW, this toner (after continuous use) has made my skin look poreless, it also works to speed up the sloushing off of dead skin, so my face is very bright and glowy.
