Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Infallible- US shades
rated 4 of 5
Interludes 1/15/2012 7:24:00 PM

I was hesitant to try these because I have not loved L'Oreal eyeshadows, particularly their gimmicky one-sweep eyeshadow but am glad I did buy them. I have four of these - Amber Rush, Bronzed Taupe, Endless Pearl, and Continuous Cocoa. Amber Rush (rose gold) and Bronze Taupe (leans a bit brown) have an incredible shine where Endless Pearl (light beige) and Continuous Cocoa (dark brown) are more subdued. Texture: They have a soft and smooth texture but the product does not go flying everywhere when you use a brush. Color payoff is strong. I have not tried using them together so cannot comment how they go together. I did have to pack on Endless Pearl a little more than the others as it's a bit more sheer. Packaging: I don't love the bulky packaging, but it works. I do like the shape and I have dropped one onto a tile floor without the package or the shadow breaking. The lid I find very ugly and unappealing. Every shadow comes with a small press. I haven't had to use it yet and I did lose one for one of the colors. Price: I paid $7-8 (USD) for one which is higher than most drugstore prices but worth it. Wear: These have worn beautifully on my oily eyelids. I do use a primer with them (Too Faced Shadow Insurance) and have not tried them on bare lids. I have not had any problems with fading or creasing, even at the end of the day. I'm interested to see how they hold up in the hot and humid summer but so far I've been happy with winter wear. Repurchase: If for whatever reason I were to run out I would buy again. I will be getting more colors in the line.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Perennial Pink #121 (Infallible Lipstick)
rated 2 of 5
Interludes 10/16/2011 6:07:00 AM

I did like the color of this lipstick. It's a blue-toned pink and I agree with the other reviews saying there's a hint of lilac in there. The reason I won't buy this again is because I hated how it wore. It managed to settle into fine lines I didn't know I had with just one swipe. Same result with a lip brush. My lips aren't dry but I tried it over a lip balm with the same results and I tried blotting, too. I just couldn't get this to work for me no matter what I tried. Too bad because I really like the color. I have to struggle to open it. Even after opening and closing it a few times, it's still difficult. I also wish these were sealed in stores. A positive aspect I liked is it didn't seem to have a scent to it.

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Liplicious - sheer - Cherry Gelato
rated 4 of 5
Interludes 10/1/2011 5:09:00 AM

I was surprisingly happy with this product. I bought it on a whim at Bath & Body Works (be sure to check to make sure they're sealed, some aren't) and don't regret it one bit. Sniffing from the tube, it smells like cherry cough syrup which I don't like. On first application it smells a bit like cherry flavored licorice nibs which is okay, but not great. But after a few seconds all I can smell is a tart cherry candy scent that I am loving. It makes me want SweetTart candies and cherry lollipops. It's definitely not a real cherry scent, but I think I prefer it as it is. It doesn't feel sticky to me (their frozen daiquiri gloss does) and the color is sheer yet visible. Another reviewer described it as it looks as if she just ate a cherry popsicle and that is absolutely correct. Wear seems decent, the time seems about average and will lessen with eating or drinking. You bet I'll repurchase.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Saved by the Blue
rated 5 of 5
Interludes 9/21/2011 5:45:00 PM

This polish is so inexpensive! I really like the color and it was opaque in two coats. The color shows up a bit darker on my nails than the picture shows, even in full light. The formula dries fast and now I can't stop staring at my nails. It's not an unusual polish color, but it's quite a bold blue. There are better quality polishes, but this line isn't bad. It's easy for me to paint my nails with the brush and I'm definitely an amateur. It's blue through and through and if I run through the bottle, I'll be buying it again.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Collagen/Elastin Lotion
rated 5 of 5
Interludes 9/19/2011 3:19:00 AM

I was very hesitant to try this lotion because I despised their shea butter & oatmeal lotion. However, I'm glad I tried it! This lotion absorbs fast and leaves my skin feeling wonderful! The scent may be unpleasant for some, but I really like it and it doesn't linger. Another pro is it's inexpensive for an 18 fl. oz/522ml pump bottle. The bottle lasts a long time. I'm not one to buy into miracle treatments so I can't say if it gives a "youthful radiance" but it does make skin feel lovely. I will buy this over and over again.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Vanilla Birthday Cake 3-in-1
rated 1 of 5
Interludes 9/11/2011 1:32:00 AM

I received this as a birthday gift from Sephora, but normally it is $16. Pros? It cleans well. That's it. The scent is absolutely awful. There's no vanilla, cake, or vanilla cake in it. It's just a pure plastic scent. It smells this way both in the bottle and while being used. If only it smelled nice. Then it would be great. The bottle is the usual Philosophy bottle. No problems there. I just cannot get past the plastic scent.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Club Eye Shadow
rated 5 of 5
Interludes 9/8/2011 3:11:00 AM

This is a fun eyeshadow! It can be used as a liner, over another liner, as a lid color, as a crease color. You can put different colored bases under it to change the effect a bit or use it on it's own. It's great for night, but if used right it can be lovely for the daytime, too. I adore the duochrome effect and will buy another as soon as I hit pan. I don't have any problems with creasing when used over a primer. The quality of the shadow is good. It applies smoothly and is not too hard or too soft. The packaging is standard MAC eyeshadow packaging - black container with a flip lid, the lid has a clear space so you can see the color inside. It snaps shut and won't come open in a bag. Very useful. You can also buy the pan alone and put it in a palette if you don't feel like de-potting, but want it out of the case. I paid $14.50 (now it's $15.00) for it, but the pan alone is available for $11.50.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Interludes 9/8/2011 3:03:00 AM

This is my favorite foundation. It makes my skin look so beautiful. I was able to find a shade that matches perfectly to my skintone. It's very easy to apply and blends beautifully. If I accidentally add too much and it gets a bit cakey looking, a little moisturizer blends it out and it's back to being flawless. My skin is combination, but can also get oily and this foundation works for it. I have not had a problem with it oxidizing and the color changing. I love how the packaging looks and it's very clean. The glass is pretty, but breakable. The lid clicks on and does not open easily in your bag. It's $46 for 1 ounce, but it's worth it to me. It lasts me quite awhile, too. I love this foundation and will repurchase it as long as it's available.

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Hypershine Gloss - Flirt
rated 4 of 5
Interludes 9/8/2011 2:48:00 AM

I really like this gloss. It's perfect when I want *something* on my lips, but I don't want a lot of color or in your face lips. It's not bold or flashy, but a lovely subtle and sheer color. Perfect for neutral looks or looks with bold eyes. As with most ELF products, the price was low. I bought the lipgloss for only $1. The applicator is a brush type where you twist up the product into the brush. I prefer it over the style of their liquid lipsticks. As the packaging is now, I don't love it or hate it. As soon as it gets low, I will buy another.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Softshell pink
rated 4 of 5
Interludes 7/23/2011 11:42:00 PM

I really like this lipstick. Applied sparingly and you will get a lovely light pink color. I just love how it looks with my fair skin and dark hair. The formula is great, very smooth and not drying. It glides on easily and there have been no problems with feathering. It stays on pretty well without eating or drinking. If you do eat or drink, you may need to reapply. The packaging is also nice. I like the black tube with the gold band Revlon uses. They're easy to open and close, but never pop open in my purse or pocket. The downside is, if you use even a little too much you will look like a hot mess from the 80's. Moderation is key!

Blush -Physicians Formula - Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in rose
rated 4 of 5
Interludes 4/16/2011 3:25:00 AM

This blush is so adorable! Used with a light hand, this is a lovely shade, but it can be easy to overdo. Start light and add more later, if you like. It isn't matte, but neither is any shimmer overbearing. It cost me about $12 which I feel is worth it. The brush that comes with it, as with most products, is fairly useless. You'll have better results using your own. The plastic seems a little flimsy, but it has not broken or cracked yet. Generally I dislike Physicians Formula, but this blush in Rose (also Natural) are beautiful, a nice quality, and adorable. They really did a nice job with these. Personally, I like the scent, but if you're sensitive be advised it is quite strong, but seems to fade on the skin. As for the mood boosting - total gimmick, but I wasn't expecting it to boost my mood. All in all, it's a nice blush and if I'd recommend it to a friend to try.

Lip Treatments -Bath and Body Works - Liplicious Tasty Lip Color - Strawberry Mint with Brown Sugar Scrub
rated 4 of 5
Interludes 3/4/2011 2:16:00 AM

I love this little thing so much. The sugary scrub side may scrape a little harshly if you press too hard, but it works to get rid of minor chapping. I don't lick it off (it does taste good. . .) like the instructions say, but instead use a damp tissue or wash cloth. The flip side is a cute pink color. It does give a little color and gloss to the lips, but not very much and not in a shocking color. It's more like a tinted balm than full color. Try to keep it twisted low while applying as either side breaks easily. I adore the strawberry mint scent. It isn't really anything special, but it makes me happy. Overall, I will buy it over and over again. It's not the best if you want strong color or strong moisturizing properties. However, it's great for exfoliation and if you're on the go, or just want something simple.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
rated 2 of 5
Interludes 2/23/2011 2:12:00 AM

The packaging is cute and unique! Though the shape is a little large - large enough I can nearly cover both lips at the same time. As for the balm itself, I did not like it. My lips do not feel moisturized or happy. The scent has promise, but has a fake/plastic note I don't like. I've used this for several months in an effort to not waste it, but ended up throwing out the remaining. I don't really hate it and there were no reactions or breakouts from it, but I don't like it at all.

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by OPI Access 24/7
rated 2 of 5
Interludes 2/23/2011 2:06:00 AM

I'm usually not a hot pink fan, but I really like the color of this polish. However, it takes several coats and the formula seems quite runny. Sephora lists it online for $5 (USD) on sale currently, but I believe it is normally $9. I received mine as a VIB gift for Valentine's day and am happy with it as a gift. It's an easily dupable color that you could find in a better quality and cheaper elsewhere. I will not repurchase.

Polishes -New York Color - Long Wearing Nail Enamel - Black Lace Creme 119
rated 2 of 5
Interludes 2/20/2011 3:18:00 AM

I bought this on a whim because I didn't have any black polishes with me and happened to walk by the display. It was 98 cents (USD) and I have another NYC polish I liked so I figured I'd give it a go. The first coat was a streaky grayish brown mess. Sewage, indeed. The second coat was darker and not as streaky, but still a little streaked. The third coat was finally a black color and the fourth was an inky black. Because of the multiple coats it took a little longer than I would have liked to dry. I'll still try other NYC polishes, but certainly not this one. I probably won't even finish the bottle.
