Fragrances -Coty - Halle by Halle Berry

It really makes me mad that I have bottles of perfume that are ten times more expensive than this little bottle but it is the only one that drives my boyfriend crazy out of my arsenal (and I am quite the collector). Be careful...a little goes a long way. I generally spray it on thirty minutes or more before going out. It is a strong, spicy scent at first but dries down to something a little more subtle. Lasts all day on me and I can still smell it on my clothes the next day.

Mascara -Rimmel - Volume Flash The Max
rated 5 of 5
Infraredhead 7/29/2010 11:02:00 AM

I was pleasantly suckered at the Walgreens counter into buying this mascara with a buy one get one 50% off and I was pleasantly surprised! I love big fat thick lashes and this mascara did not let me down. No flakes either at the end of the day. Washed off easily with my facial cleanser. It even gives my beloved Loreal Voluminous mascara a run for the money. Will buy again.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Queen by Queen Latifah
rated 4 of 5

I was given a free tester of this at the Givenchy counter. It reminded me of Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy. I even went home and put a squirt on each arm of both because I was convinced it was the same thing BUT it was completely different in the dry down. I loved Queen and plan on purchasing a full size bottle. I put it on this morning around 6:00 a.m. and I still get little whiffs of it around 1:00. Not bad. I agree with the vanilla oriental description. Good job Queen Latifah.

Fragrances -Lancaster - Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Infraredhead 6/25/2009 9:57:00 PM

I put this on and did a double take on the bottle because it smelled so similar to my beloved Boucheron Trouble. There were some notes in there that also reminded me of Deep Red. So if you like either of those scents mentioned you may like Covet. No vanilla fruity floral here. Long lasting and I found a bottle at TJ Maxx for around 20 dollars. Can't beat that!

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Matte eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
Infraredhead 4/8/2009 7:23:00 PM

Now if only they would come up with color palettes of this stuff. I have three colors of Revlon matte eyeshadow and it is a challenge to find the little containers in my giant makeup stash. This lasts from 5:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. with a little help from my Mary Kay eye primer. Good stuff. NO SPARKLIES so I don't look like a teenage Lolita. It is cheap and I can find it at my local Walgreens. Will repurchase.

Hair -Giovanni - 50/50 Balanced Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
Infraredhead 4/8/2009 7:18:00 PM

This dried out my hair something fierce. I had to do a DT afterwards to get it back to soft and normal. I only poo once a week and this didn't agree with me for some reason. I could write a mini-rant why I hate all Giovanni containers but I will save that for later...Glad this is working for some of you. My boyfriend inherited my bottle.

Conditioner -Suave - Vanilla Floral Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
Infraredhead 4/8/2009 7:13:00 PM

Love, love, love the scent. I use this as a co-wash and when I want at DT I add grapeseed oil, etc. It is cheap and you can find it almost anywhere which is a big plus. This is always on my bathroom counter and I have one hiding in the cabinet. Will repurchase again and again...

Hair -Kinky Curly - Knot Today leave-in conditioner
rated 5 of 5
Infraredhead 4/8/2009 7:08:00 PM

One of my best leave ins next to SheaMoisture. I have dry 2B hair and only have to use a tiny pea size amount. I use it in conjunction with a stronger holding gel or my waves fall to pieces by the afternoon. Will repurchase.

Gels/Soaps -Caress - Exotic Oil Infusions Moroccan Cream Oil Body Wash [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Infraredhead 4/8/2009 7:05:00 PM

This soap doesn't dry out my already dry skin. I am a somewhat sensitive person when it comes to soaps and this didn't irritate, didn't cause itchies or a rash. I LOVE this scent. My only gripe is that I used to find it at my local Target and Walgreens and now they only carry the Brazilian scent. I found a somewhat good buy on Amazon for three bottles. Not too crazy about the container because it is a pain in the arse to get out the last bit. One bottle lasts me a LONG time. I use it on a shower scrubbie and I get the nicest lather from using it this way. Will repurchase.

Cleansers -Cerave - Hydrating Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
Infraredhead 4/8/2009 7:01:00 PM

It doesn't work well on getting off my eye makeup but almost every cleanser that I have purchased doesn't completely remove my Loreal Voluminous mascara. I have been using grapeseed oil on the eye area first then I go over my whole face with the Cerave. I like the Cerave because it is much cheaper than the previous products that I had been using (PSF Green Tea cleanser) and I can get it over the counter. No harsh sulfates and does not dry out my skin. I have dry skin except for my t-zone and this was a good match. Will repurchase.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Active Light Makeup SPF 25 ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Infraredhead 7/23/2008 9:08:00 PM

Thank you Revlon for making a foundation that I don't curse at in the morning because of packaging problems. This comes in a plastic tube so if you drop it on hard tile there isn't a huge mess. Also, you can set it upside down so you don't have to bang on it like an idiotic glass bottle. This performed well today in high, sticky humidity. Removed well with an oil based cleanser. I also love the SPF 25. I don't understand why other Colorstay foundations have a silly SPF of 6. I bought the ivory and it worked well for my freckly, white face. No problems with the shade. Applied easily using a cosmetic sponge. No problems with the foundation settling in pores. Will repurchase.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express Turbo Boost Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
Infraredhead 7/23/2008 8:51:00 PM

I bought this mascara based on Paula Begoun's latest edition of Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me. Also, I was sucked in to a CVS sale :) I followed the directions and applied it without letting the first layer dry before I reapplied to the same lashes. On my other set of lashes I put Maybelline Sky High Curves (also rated highly in Paula's book). Neither one is a creamy mascara in the least and both go on somewhat dry. I really didn't notice a difference though in volume between the Turbo Boost and the Sky High Eyes. Both sets of lashes looked the same when I was done. After applying my new mascaras around 11:00, I went to work out in the garage. It was a 99% humidity day with the temperature hovering around 95. I know this probably isn't a fair test but I want to know if a mascara is going to work in high humidity with sweat coming down my face before I attempt to wear it on a grueling work day. Yes, I could have purchased waterproof, but eh I hate the pulling and tugging to get it off. About three hours later, I come inside the house and my Sky High Curves eye has flakes coming off on the lower lid. The Turbo Boost eye was still going strong. I wish I could put a "maybe" for repurchasing but I went ahead and put yes due to the fact it lasted for hours with virtually no flakes. I should mention that I was dripping in sweat while working outside so that is a definite plus. It isn't my HG but it will do for now. Still searching for that one mascara that gives me big, fat, fake looking lashes.

I bought this mascara based on Paula Begoun's latest edition of Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me. Also, I was sucked in to a CVS sale :) I followed the directions and applied it without letting the first layer dry before I reapplied to the same lashes. On my other set of lashes I put Maybelline Turbo Boost 7X (also rated highly in Paula's book). I applied my new mascaras around 11:00 and went to work out in the garage. It did apply nicely and my lashes did gain volume but I didn't see anything remotely curvaceous about it. It is an ok mascara but I will probably not repurchase.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Activate Hydrating Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Infraredhead 7/4/2008 11:26:00 PM

I love this shampoo for my dry, wavy hair. I only use shampoo once a week and this is my favorite. It does not dry my hair out and gets the product gunk out. The trouble is, I can NOT find it anywhere anymore! I used to purchase it at Walgreens, but they no longer carry it. I tried looking at the Activate web site but it isn't working. I tried locating it through the Yahoo and Google shopping search engines but that didn't work either :( Would love to hear from anyone where you found it!

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Jane Carter Solution
rated 5 of 5
Infraredhead 4/5/2008 9:48:00 AM

I use the condtion and sculpt from the Jane Carter line. I started using this in place of curl keeper. It helps keep the frizzies down, smells WONDERFUL, and I can purchase it locally. I use this with a harder holding gel when it is humid because it doesn't have enough hold for me on it's own. It also leaves my hair shiny! Will definitely repurchase.
