Brows -NYX - Eyebrow Cake Powder - ECP02 Dark Brown/Brown
InfinityGuitars 4/8/2013 5:56:00 AM
I'm a big fan of this eyebrow kit! I use it frequently & I love the package; it's the wax & two shades of brown. I like that there is more than one shade because it helps gives my eyebrows a more natural look & for $2.99, I can't complain! This kit it amazing & does everything I need it to.
I have this in 160 Rich Ginger & 340 Caramel. I found the Rich Ginger to be a little too light & the Caramel to be a little too dark. I figured I'll just use the Caramel until it's finished because I'd rather a foundation be a little too dark than a little too light. In general, there could be better variety for people with dark/black skin. When it comes to selecting your shade, definitely be sure—don't just pick up the jar because it looks right. The actual product is nothing like what it looks like on the outside. The true colour is hard to see! Conversely, this foundation lasts though the day & sets somewhat matte. For those with oily skin like mine, it works best with a good primer. I recommend those with oily or combination skin to give it a try. Colorstay Whipped is thick & easy to use. I like that it's a creme because it doesn't run or spill. I simply apply it with my fingers & smooth it out; I don't use a brush or sponge because it spreads & smooths easily. I enjoy the full coverage & that it blends into my skin quickly & evenly. It's one of my favourite foundations!
I have the e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Kit in 81303 Dark & I love it. I use it as part of my daily face routine & it's such a great product despite the fact that it's only $3. I, however, only use the wax side & this is the perfect product to use to darken &/or define my brows. I like that there is a little mirror included in the compact. The brush could be a little better size-wise. I'm always sticking my finger into power or wax because it's so tiny & hard to hold, but the wax end is really nice & the perfect shape to do my brows. I'd buy this again, & it'll have to be soon because I've pan!
Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Cover smooth foundation
InfinityGuitars 4/8/2013 5:25:00 AM
I have this in 857 Bronzed. I really wanted to like this foundation, but it broke me out so badly I don't think I can do it again. The sad thing is that it looks & works so well on me! The formula is thin/watery, it's light (MAYBE light-medium) coverage--it'd be a nice foundation for people who don't have acne problems. The scent is like the store Michaels around Christmas, but it does give a natural, smooth finish. I just wish I wasn't allergic to it.
For the most part, this is a nice eyeliner, but it could be a lot better. I like that the formula dries quickly & sets to a semi-matte finish. It stays on overall, but I noticed that it does flake/crack pretty easily. It certainly is not waterproof. This probably isn't the eyeliner to use if you've got oily skin. I don't like wearing this for an extended period of time because the flaking gets bad & all over the place. I can literally peel this eyeliner off with my fingers to remove it! I like the easiness of it & I like the intensity of the black, so even though it's not long lasting, I'd buy it again simply because it's cheap. It's good to wear if you're going out for a short period of time (like a class or a lunch date) or if you have nothing better.
Primer/ Corrector -E.L.F. - Mineral Infused Face Primer
InfinityGuitars 4/8/2013 4:58:00 AM
I like this primer a lot & I use it quite often; it doesn't break me out & it keeps my foundation in place for hours. I agree with the other reviewers who say the texture is kind of weird--it's thin & kind of oily, but it works on my skin. The packaging is really nice, but I received a defected/broken one... the pump doesn't work, but luckily I can unscrew the top & use what I can take off the tube. I think the pump can be a little better, but overall, I like this primer a lot & I'd buy it again.
I bought this for $2.49 on clearance/reduced price from Walgreens & I'm glad I did. I know this doesn't sound believable, but I noticed a change after the first time I used this. I use it every night & though not all my blackheads are gone, there is a noticeable difference & improvement in my skin. What really won me over was that it's oil-free & also contains an acne treatment. Even if I don't see this product for $2 again, I'll repurchase because of how well it works!
I'm a fan of Nivea & this is my new favourite lip care product! I have bad anxiety & as a result, I pick at, chew on, & peel my lips. I put this on ONE time & immediately the sores & blisters on my lips looked & felt better. This lip balm did what it said it would--seals in moisture & long-lasting. I ate & drank with it & didn't have an issue. My only "complaint" (if you can call it that) is that it does contain wax & I can feel & smell it, but it doesn't bother me enough to stop using it or not purchase it again.
Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Nadinola - Fade Cream
InfinityGuitars 3/10/2013 1:44:00 AM
I got this cream because I have acne spots/scars that are darker than my already dark skin. I've tried plenty of fade creams, both drugstore & expensive brands, but found this this one actually works with me. I don't care for the smell, but other than that, it's fine. I also find that this makes me face kind of greasy & dirty looking, but I use it overnight, so it doesn't matter much to me. I'd recommend this to anyone else with oily or acne-prone skin like mine.
I use this toner every night & I love it; it's not expensive at all & I'm not sure if it matters to others, but I like the fact that the bottle is clear because I can actually see the product. The reason I love this toner is because it's gentle & that's important to me because I have really sensitive skin. It keeps my face fresh & clean. My only complaint is that the fragrance does get a little overbearing.
Primer/ Corrector -Palladio - Herbal Liquid Foundation Primer
InfinityGuitars 10/1/2012 1:54:00 PM
This primer isn't the best I've used, but I like it a lot. I sometimes wear it alone & other times wear it under a powder or foundation. I love how lightweight it is & how smooth it feels on my face. However, I do feel like it just SITS on my face. It doesn't make my makeup longer-lasting & it doesn't work long on my skin. I'd purchase this primer again though as I've received compliments on my face when wearing it with only a powder on top of it.
This product is so-so. I'm completely neutral because I didn't notice too much of a difference, good or bad. I agree with those that say the formula is heavy/thick; a little goes a long way! I don't personally believe this moisturizer is mattifying or reduces shine, but it is moisturizing. I also love that there is sunscreen in it because sun protection is important. Because it was picked up at the dollar store, I'd buy it again simply for the moisturizing benefits. It's not the worst moisturizer in the world.
Mascara -New York Color - Sky Rise Lengthening Mascara
InfinityGuitars 8/8/2012 4:21:00 PM
Sky Rise is excellent. I get compliments whenever I wear it! This mascara makes my eyelashes look long & false (in a good way). I was not expecting this mascara to be as nice as it is; but, if you apply more than a coat or two or if you use it with another mascara, it'll get clumpy. The black & pinky-gold packaging is cute & sleek-looking. The wand/brush is pretty slim, but it works well. The only complaint or con I have with it is that it does get a little messy & I have to wipe off excess each time I put the wand back in. For the little money you'll spend, you'll get an awesome mascara.
This gloss is one that I wear daily. I have this in Blossom & I think it's really cute rose/pink colour. I like the packaging except for the fact that there isn't much product (that's expected though seeing as how it's $1) & that because you have to twist it to use it, it's easy to over-apply. The gloss is a bit sticky, but it I like it because it lasts a long time. I went to work & went home with it still on - not touching up once. I also don't find that it smells any different than most other drugstore glosses. I don't think anyone should be complaining about the twisting because it literally & directly on the tube that you have to twist it before first application.
This exfoliate surprised me! It worked so well - you'd have no idea it was only $3. You have to rub it before the first use to get it rough/ready to use. It goes on clear & its moisturizing works very well. It smells so sweet; so far, I've gotten cookie dough, butterscotch, & cupcakes. I don't particular care for the taste, though.
