Lip Treatments -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Lip Balm w/Vitamin E & Spf 15
Idony 8/2/2009 1:07:00 AM
Very dissappointed. I use to love this stuff because it smelt divine but also gave me that MLBB look without lipstick. But i've somehow developed a major ALLERGIC REACTION to it. First i thought it just made it dry and stingy but then it made them puff up to twice the size they were before, red and irritated. I've noticed quite a few reviewers have had this reaction so maybe stay away if you have sensitive skin :S

Loved the scent when i bought it, very fresh and citrusy but the lasting power is terrible.

Mascara -ModelCo - Lash Extend Mascara in Bazaar Black
Idony 7/23/2008 3:01:00 AM
New HG mascara!! Like some of the others, i got this free with Harper's. Honestly i got it for the sake of getting a free item but this is amazing! It not only lengthens like crazy but also thickens, giving me gorgeous fluttery lashes which is comparable to the best of them and i am a mascara fanatic. Currently i have about 8 mascaras in rotation and quite a few unopened ones. My previous HG was Hypnose but that didn't lengthen much and was a bitch to take off. Lashxtend also holds a curl relatively well considering i have stick straight asian lashes (one of the only few waterproof ones that do). The biggest factor that has me raving about this is that it is TOTALLY SMUDGEPROOF which is just ridiculously amazing to me. Every mascara that i have tried has smudged on me, especially because i have poofy asian cheeks. But i slap this on in the morning and not a smudge by the end of the day ^^ I use this everyday and can't see myself living without it, will definitely buy once i run out.

Eyes -Ardell - Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator Treatment Gel
Idony 6/21/2008 6:41:00 AM
Absolutely LOVE this product!! I don't know how i ever lived without this. Heard so many good things about it but every store i went to was sold out. Recently, i've started losing lashes in bulk so i went to search for it again and finally found it. I figured even if it doesn't make my lashes grow, it'll still be good as a lash conditioner. Not only did it work fantastically as a conditioner and protector (i now have minimal lash fall out), but it's only been a week and i can see a noticeble change in my lash growth. I have moderately long asian stick straight lashes but now they look visibly longer and thicker, like i have everyday mascara on. I am so psyched, such a wonderful multipurpose product. I apply it twice a day, once in the morning and once before i go to bed, on both the bottom and the top. It also works really well as a mascara base. I was contemplating getting either the Shiseido or the Lancome base but honestly, now with this, i can't imagine anything working better. I just apply 2 coats or this, wait for it to dry then curl gently and apply my Lancome Hypnose on top. It looks AMAZING. I don't think my lashes have ever been so long beautiful. I can't stop looking at them. This stuff is definitely addictive but it's a must.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - huni Every Night Moisturiser
Idony 6/21/2008 6:31:00 AM
I've just recently converted to natural skincare and got a whole heap of samples to try out. Comvita Huni was one of them. It's a New Zealand brand who uses potent UMF®20+ Manuka honey which contains many antioxidants to moisturise your skin. The range is designed for skin just showing the signs of aging so I'm not sure I'm a very good candidate to tell you about that but for my purposes, it was quite good. I got sachets of the day cream and the night cream which lasted me 3 days. You can really smell the honey in this which you either like or you don't but it goes away in about 15 mins and on the plus side, even if you don't, it smells much better than many other natural skincare products (like Living Nature for instance). The texture is quite thick which i didn't like but quickly sinks into the skin giving it a little tingling sensation which is suppose to be the tightening of skin against aging? i'm not sure.. The next morning, i woke up to really clear bright looking skin which i was quite pleased with. In all, moisturises very well, as with the day cream not sure i like the texture but as i night cream i guess idon't mind as much. Good product.

Cleansers -Nivea - Nivea Visage Oxygen Power Reviving Cleansing Gel
Idony 6/21/2008 6:15:00 AM
I got this as a sample in the mail the other day. I'm not big on cleansers, to me, they're kind of all the same, nothing really to rave about as yet, still searching for that elusive HG. Nivea oxygen wasn't much different, it had a wonderful smell but as much as i enjoy it, i have sensitive skin and can't help but wonder what I'm sacrificing in trade for a pleasing scent. After, my skin felt cleansed (as with most cleansers) but tight, i think this is too harsh for my skin and dried it out more than i would like. I'm possibly biased in this review as i've just recently jumped on the natural skincare bandwagon and honestly think it's the best thing i've ever done for my skin. So the addition of parabens in this really doesn't help that mentality. In all, a descent cleanser, just not the one for me.

Mascara -Lancome - Courbe Virtuose Mascara (Divine Lasting Curves)
Idony 6/13/2008 11:34:00 PM
Got this in a sample and was very excited about it as i love Lancome mascaras. Gave me alot of volume and lengthened quite a bit. Very happy in those departments. I can't comment on the curving issues however as i have dead straight asian lashes. I curled them with my Shiseido curler and applied and it somewhat held a curl which is the best i can get out of a non-waterproof mascara. It does tend to smudge abit but thats to be expected with my cheeks. Should mention that for a non-waterproof mascara it is quite hard to remove, won't come off with just water, you'll have to use cleanser or else risk coming out of the shower with panda eyes. I have noticed that the curved brush can be temperamental depending on how i apply. It either turns out amazing or duds. Haven't quite perfected the technique yet which can be annoying as it can give me lopsided lashes that are different on each eye depending on application but in general quite pleased with it although i probabaly won't repurchase once i run out as i'm dying to try the Fatale (whose brush will probably give me even bigger headaches but what can i say? I'm a glutton for punishment..)

Tinted Moisturizer -Living Nature - Tinted Moisturiser
Idony 6/13/2008 6:08:00 AM
I walked into Priceline today looking for a new moisturiser. I'm a recent natural skincare convert as i have sensitive skin and would like to use the least amount of chemicals on my skin as possible. i had heard that the Living Nature stuff was all natural so i went to test the tinted moisturiser. I dabbed a bit on my hand and the first thing i noticed was the rancid smell. It smells absolutely horrendous, like urine! i don't know how anyone can put this on their face, not only that it lingers for quite a long time and really isn't the cheapest thing on the shelf at AU$31.95 for 50ml. The actual moisturiser was quite good but i don't know how anyone can get past that smell. I ended up buying the Trilogy Energising Face Lotion at $39.95 for 100ml from Myer. Much better smelling all natural as well. Much recommended.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Discovery Mascara
Idony 5/13/2008 3:47:00 AM
I got this for free in a promotion otherwise i would never have bought this on my own if left to my own devices. Looking at the brush, i was wondering what this would do for my lashes if anything. But after having tried it. i have so much respect for that brush, you have no idea. It is so much better than all those big brushes they have on the market these days. It is amazing, reaches every little strand of lashes even in the corners without leaving huge smudges of mascara on my eyelid. Sadly that is where the rave ends as the formula is horrendous. Very average, not much voluminising, some lengthening, good everyday mascara but it smudges like crazy. Not even an hour had gone past before i had a black panda eyes. If Maybelline gets their act together and fixes this formula, this would be a definite HG everyday mascara but in the meantime, i'm sticking to my Lancome Hypnose.

Makeup Brushes -Bloom - Blush Brush
Idony 5/13/2008 3:18:00 AM
Such a gorgeous brush, looks very durable and the hair is so soft. I needed a new blush brush but was on a budget (can't afford those Mac brushes that cost an arm and a leg) and for AU$35, this is just amazing. Delivers just the right amount of product onto my cheeks and easy to blend in. The hair isn't packed tightly so i no longer need to worry about splotches of colour not blending in, just perfect to use with my pigmented blushes. Plus the brush head is just the right size for cheekbones, not too small and not too large. Definitely satisfied with my purchase. ^^

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - Gelato - Raspberry Sundae
Idony 2/23/2008 6:05:00 AM
This is the new line for Softlips, has the same gorgeous moisturising qualities as the original and the lovely tingling effect. This one has a delicious raspbery scent, doesn't taste like anything though which is a pity but then again i'm already addicted as it is, eating it probably wouldn't help. Dirt cheap and the packing makes it so easy to apply, i have long nails so those balms in tubs really annoy me but this is just perfect!

Bronzers -Lumiere - Bronzer in California Gold
Idony 2/23/2008 5:57:00 AM
I got this as a sample when i ordered some brushes and it is fantastic! So pigmented, not orange at all and applies so well with their brushes. Best of all it's mineral so i don't get that matte build up if i accidently put too much on. A little goes a long way, the sample lasted me ages but now i've nearly run out, so off to order some more! ;P

Bronzers -Bourjois - Delice de Poudre
Idony 2/23/2008 5:49:00 AM
Extremely disappointed in this bronzer, i had such high expectations after reading all the good reviews on MUA. I bought it in the darker shade, the packaging is cute, don't know if it is durable though and it has a light spicy smell to it. The clincher though is, i can't get it to apply, actual product is ridiculously hard and so tightly packed that my lumiere brush can't pick up any product at all, i finally got frustrated and tried it just with my finger and rubbed at it like crazy and managed to get a little bit of pigment. I don't know if i just got a dodgy pack or something but if anyone has any suggestions. It would be much appreciated :( **EDIT** Finally got this to work, there was an initial layer on top that was really hard to get, but after that eventually came off, it's all better now. I'm fair-medium skin toned and have pretty much got a light tan all yr round so i use this 4 contouring under my cheekbones and the sides of my forehead just to slim my round face down. Not orange at all, if anything i'd be leaning towards brown and lasts all day which i'm very happy with. Theres alot of product in this, probably last me a couple of years. One lippy off because i'm just not convinced its my HG.
