Polishes -Essie - Sugar Daddy
ITryFashion 9/13/2010 9:00:00 PM
I did not like this. The colour barely shows up, its almost a clear nail polish with a hint of pink. It takes several coats to look substantial, but then looks no different to the pale pink polishes that come in french manicure kits, but at least those usually take one coat only. I now use this as a base colour in my french polish. The only redeeming factor is the polish lasted longer than other brands before chipping. Given the hype over this brand, this product was disappointing and overpriced. It was my first Essie nail polish and given the disappointing result will likely be the only Essie polish I have owned. My experience with this and OPI Lincoln Park After Dark have suggested there's nothing special about these brands that couldn't be achieved with a drugstore polish + base coat + top coat.

Lotions/ Creams -Boots - Cocoa Butter & Mallow Body Lotion for Dry Skin
ITryFashion 9/13/2010 8:48:00 PM
Amazing! I agree with the comments below, this is an effective body moisturiser and this is amazing value for money. This beats other pricer lotions and is an underrated product. Comments: - the plastic bottle (300ml with pump dispenser) is practical for easy use, storage and travel - the smell is subtle - the consistency is great, its not runny and not thick, and is absorbed well into the skin I use this all over my body except face. The same product is currently available in 2 other scents - "Mango and Orange Blossom" and "Coconut and Almond". The current price is £1.99 however it is often on offer (Buy One Get One Half Price) so you can get 2 bottles for £3. This product is a must buy! If you don't like it you've only lost a couple quid :)

Styling Products -GHD - Hair Oil
ITryFashion 9/11/2010 1:04:00 PM
Horrific. This makes hair straightening worse not better. I kept using this thinking it was protecting my hair, but since I stopped hair straightening is much better. After applying this spray my hair frazzles and sizzles under the heat of the irons and is frizzier than without using it. Packaging could be better by having a clear bottle to know how much product is left. But it doesn't matter as the product is so bad I won't bother finishing it.

Cleansers -Laura Mercier - Oil Free Gel Cleanser
ITryFashion 9/11/2010 12:59:00 PM
This product is so good. It does what it says on the bottle and cleanses make-up off thoroughly- nothing more nothing less. This can be used in the shower too which is a major advantage in my books. At first I thought it was nothing special but since I finished the bottle I've tried many other cheaper products which were disappointing. Nothing cleaned as thoroughly as this did - I use it over my eye area too and is the only product I've tried that removes everything and doesn't leave any surprises for the next morning. I look forward to purchasing this again soon.

Cleansers -Clarins - Cleansing Milk for dry to normal skin
ITryFashion 9/11/2010 12:42:00 PM
Overall this product works and is recommended. I wasn't a fan of the application though. I was advised to apply this in a patting motion over my face then rinse, which is easy enough but time consuming when you're in a rush or are tired. Also I prefer a product I can use in the shower too. However, whilst using this as part of an overall Clarins skincare regime (with the Toning Lotion with Camomile) my skin was noticeable improved. Before, my skin had some dry patches and blemishes. After use, my skin was soft and even, and glowing the following morning after use. I use this after already using a make-up remover. At present I won't buy this again immediately as I prefer a product I can use in the shower too, but if you can offer time for skincare regime then the outcome is worth it. I will try other products and return to this if I cannot find a faster alternative.

Polishes -OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark
ITryFashion 9/11/2010 12:32:00 PM
This is an overhyped product. The colour is personal opinion whether you like it or not. But otherwise, the disadvantages are: It streaks as I'm applying it so I have to do several coats for an even application. It chips immediately if not applied with base and top coat. The colour is easily duped across the board at more affordable prices.

Mascara -Maybelline - XXL Curl Power
ITryFashion 9/11/2010 12:28:00 PM
This was my first use of a mascara with a curved wand and also with 2 parts (primer and mascara). I didn't like either factor and didn't feel they added anything to the product and it feels like a gimmick. I'm better off curling lashes myself and applying a decent standard mascara. Will not repurchase.

Eye Makeup Remover -Boots - No7 Cleanse & Care Eye Make-up Remover
ITryFashion 9/11/2010 12:24:00 PM
This is practically useless. The bottle is poorly designed to get the product out you have to keep pressing the pump - and half the packaging is the lid! I had to use so much product to get a result and given its a double-phase product that you have to shake together it was annoying constantly having to shake it and try to get some out. I bought this with a discount voucher but its absolutely not worth the £7.50 advertised price. I wouldn't use it again if it was free.

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover
ITryFashion 9/11/2010 12:19:00 PM
Review of: L'oreal Dermo-Expertise Demaq Eye Make-Up Remover (has 2 phases that are shaken together) This is very effective and cheap, and rivals the Lancome Bi-facil and other similar double-phase products. Works effectively to remove eye-makeup without much rubbing. Perfect size for travel too. Packaging could be a bit better but doesn't detract from the effective product. Definitely recommended.

Eye Makeup Remover -L'Oreal - Dermo Expertise Gentle Eye Make Up Remover for Eyes and Lips
ITryFashion 9/11/2010 12:00:00 PM
Review of: Loreal Dermo-Expertise - Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover (Suitable for sensitive eyes) Useless. This product is not much more effective than water. Product feels and looks like its just water with some added ingredients. I used this on cotton pads and swiped over eyelids. I only wear pencil eyeliner and mascara but even when rubbing over my eyes repeatedly this product did not work effectively and I had to go over again with baby oil, which itself is very effective but messy. After a few days use I have given up on this product. The packaging is ok and and the item is cheap. A regretful purchase.
