Treatments -Phyto - Phytodensium Anti-Aging Mask

not cheap.. but so so good. I have been coloring my hair forever, which is probably longer than many of you have been alive. it has been dark, black, brown, red, ginger, blonde and is still blonde today. It has suffered along with me all the craziness and travails of chemical damage. But, I have no choice - I am about 40% grey which is not enough to have a glowing mane of grey silver hair. As it is, it would look sloppy, unkempt and aging. God forbid! Anyway, I color. And I will keep coloring until my hair is all white which may be awhile. I have also used every brand of DS and HE treatments: Kerastase, Joico, Redken.. you name it, and I have tried it. I used this twice in the last week and my hair was noticeably softer, less brittle and looking like real blonde hair. Highly recommend this product and will repurchase.

Concealers -Kevyn Aucoin - The Sensual Skin Enhancer

Purchasing this again. For info, I am an NC15 leaning towards NC20 in summer but since I don't tan at all, I use the same colors year round. I use this in SX5 for my face, and a dab of SX3 for under eyes. I apply with a blender sponge and then buff with one of the many buffer brushes in my stash. Set with either LaPraire, LaMer or Chanel powder and then spray mist. I get flawless skin which looks natural and not at all caked. Every time I use a liquid foundation, I find that I can get splotchy skin during the day, but with these amazing little pots, I can last the whole day into night with perfect looking skin. Use this as a foundation, mix with serum, primer or illuminating products and you will really get your bang for the buck from these products. Don't worry about the cost either -- one pot will last for almost 2 years, making this an inexpensive product which really gives great service.

Blush -NARS - Crazed
Hothead 5/26/2013 1:14:00 PM
As always, I arrived late to the party. I have had this product for a few years (yes, pigmented products can last for years - not more than 10 tho.. ). I have been using it with my new "I am healthy and hearty face" and decided to purchase a back up. LO! It's discontinued. Figures. My consolation is that this product might last me another few years due to rotation in my enormous arsenal of blushes. I refuse to pay Ebay price most of the time. this is a gorgeous raspberry golden flecked beauty which with a poof of a stipple blush gives you that healthy and hearty look. I still hate NARS packaging tho.

Eyeliner -Yves Saint Laurent - Effet Faux Cils Cream Eyeliner

Thoroughly enjoying this product. I bought the Jade Green and the navy blue (forgot name). I have a difficult time with gel liners but will not give up on them either. This one applies like a dream, very soft. The colors are elegant. the packaging.. meh, they all come in some form of pot which unless closed very carefully will give you a dried up product in short order. The coverage is excellent and they draw a very defined line. So far I have not had any problem with messy tear duct leakage. I have to remove with Bifacil not because they are entirely waterproof, but because I don't like to tug at my eyelids. I did not purchase the black because I have quite a few from many other lines and black is the most simplistic color around.

Blush -TheBalm - Instain - Arygle
Hothead 5/20/2013 7:25:00 PM
Extremely pigmented. Use a stippling brush or fan brush. Color is a perfect deep pink for summer. Packaging is light and easy to carry around (Burberry has won the hefty packaging award for me). If you need a blush to carry you through the day without fading or disappearing.. look no further. I am very happy with my purchase and will be using it a lot on vacation when everything and anything fades -- I think this will pass the sweat test.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri Nailpolish Colors
Hothead 5/20/2013 7:19:00 PM
I hate to be a party pooper. I was drawn to the colors and the insta thing. Sadly, I had trouble with the application which seemed streaky and needed 3 coats to give coverage. After the 3 coats, I looked like I had parrot nails.. thick and somehow bulbous. SH usually makes good polishes but these somehow did not work for me. had to remove before I stepped out. will never buy again.

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Matte Collection Quad Eye Shadow in Canyon Classic

Seriously matte and natural/nude shades. Go with every day and everywhere look. Have used these for years and will continue to repurchase. The plastic casing is not luxe, but for the price, who really cares. The texture and pigmentation of the colors is almost perfect -- right up there with HE eyeshadows. don't hesistate.. try these and you will have a great solution to every day eye colors.

Polishes -Essie - Velvet Voyeur
Hothead 5/19/2013 6:47:00 PM
When I saw the new Taboo polish by Chanel, I knew I wanted a purple eggplant color. Not as expensive as the Chanel (I will pay thru the nose for foundation, blush, powder but not for polish). I passed on the Chanel for being so dupeable.. lol. But I saw this for $ 3.00 and fell in love. it is a gorgeous color -- maybe won't wear till fall, but maybe I will.. who knows. But for the price differential it is certainly worth it. I like all the Essie polishes and find they give a good quality and finish as well as great colors without the extravagant cost which I allocate to other items. After all, I change my polish once a week. love the color.

Loose Powders -La Prairie - Cellular Treatment Loose Powder
Hothead 5/19/2013 6:37:00 PM
I might be dead by the time I need to replace this. About 18 months ago I was on a perfect skin campaign, and knew I needed powder. Torn between Chanel, LaMer, and LaPraire, I bought all three.. lol. I give them equal rotation time though -- that's why I think I might not be around to finish them all off. I am shade 01, in all three.. or their name equivalents. I use them after I apply my foundation and blot in with powder puff which they come in. I have achieved my goal for better looking skin -- the finish I get with my powders is fantastic. I do use creme/gel or liquid foundations and they all need a bit of mattifying. Buff with a great buffing brush -- Sephora, UD, or Sigma. I then spritz with either MAC Fix, or Avene spray and I get a great foundation finish. top off with blush, some highliter (now using Hourglass or Edward Bess) and I look 20 years younger.

Liquid -Chanel - Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup SPF 15
Hothead 5/16/2013 8:09:00 PM
meh meh. When the price overshadows all other concerns, then you don't really have a great product. this foundation is good.. but not great. It has good coverage but a bit on the cakey side mostly due to it's heavy consistency (thus the matte). I don't find the luminosity in it and I only use it at night as it feels/looks heavy during the morning hours. The older I get the less caked up I need to be. Good but not worth the money for this foundation.

Blush -Yves Saint Laurent - Creme de blush LE
Hothead 5/16/2013 8:03:00 PM
Perfect creme blush - perfect color, texture and very natural finish. No funny perfumey smell and no greasy feel either on face or hands. It lasts a few hours on it's own, but I do use a similar powder blush (TF, Nars, Burberry) on top. I have found that any powder blush which is layered over a good creme blush such as this must be of top quality, pigmented and somewhat sheer. the combination has given me 12 hours of pinky faced wear. love these. expensive -- but yes, worth it especially if you don't have the time or the convenience of reapplying face products in public. I don't.

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Expert Face Brush
Hothead 5/16/2013 7:53:00 PM
Have a few of these too. I use it to apply my cream, gel and liquid foundations. Also great to apply cream/gel contour or highliters. If you spritz the head with water, you can also use it to apply your powder foundations perfectly. Blends with the very best. I am starting to hate all of my real animal hair brushes because of these. No smell, no shedding, always just right. Buy without fear. I wanted a 5 lippie on this review, but for some reason, I can only give it 4. What's up?

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Stippling Brush
Hothead 5/16/2013 7:48:00 PM
I have a few of each kind. I am a freak about rotating brushes and cleaning them. These are inexpensive for what you actually can achieve with them. they do not smell. there is no wet cat odor after washing. they blend and buff beautifully. And, the price is super reasonable. I use the stippling brush for applying my cream blushes and blending... it's perfect for me for this. remember you don't have to use the brush for any one particular duty: I sometimes use the stippling brush to apply my mineral powders (especially MAC's mineral powder) since the head is small enough and the fibres are strong enough for picking up product without any dust up. excellent brushes. worth 5 lippies, but the platform for rating has changed, and can only give 4 ! huh?

Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk in Ultra Light Ash Blonde
Hothead 5/15/2013 7:24:00 AM
this is a great product. that said, I wish the reviewers would at least mention WHAT COLOR they have used. It would help a lot to assess the products to chose. the packaging in this is mediocre, the color selection is for boxed hair color only - simplistic at best. the best shades are the dark browns, and the reds. blondes are a bit iffy and not much information provided by the company. still and all, for the price, it is an excellent product which can if used correctly deliver nice color and healthy hair. better than my L'Oreal I am worth its at triple the price. will keep re-working till I get the right colors for my expected results.

Brows -MAC - Fluidline Brow Gelcreme
Hothead 5/14/2013 10:27:00 PM
My ONLY complaint about this product is that it is LE !!! other than that I am in love and lust with this little pot. It has helped me shape and give color to my mini brows (nature did not bless me with a full set of eyebrows). I have the Dirty blonde shade and it is perfect. It is a far superior product to the MUFE simply because MUFE has not bothered to perfect a more user friendly packaging. I apply the Fluidline Brow gel with a thin eyeliner brush and just draw on small eyebrow like hairs and blend them in with my own measly hairs.. and it works!.. I hope MAC brings these back as perm products and I will stock up just in case. This product is a lifesaver for all the eyebrow challenged.
