Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
rated 5 of 5

If you love nude lipglosses--this is the gloss for you. Unlike the popular MAC lipglasses, the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipglosses are not sticky, super smooth, and provide medium-buildable coverage in terms of color. The variety of colors are very pleasing--nothing too extreme nor "under" pigmented. Of all the shades I came across-especially this shade--the application of the gloss was beautiful. Situated in a glossy, chanel-like package, Revelon SL Lipglosses are very elegant at a low cost. No high intense shimmer or glitter--just a gorgeous sheen with a noticeable tint of color you can add on. I absolutely love these lipglosses because I believe I receive more in quality than what I pay for. Bravo, Revlon.

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Skin
rated 5 of 5
Hoorayitscameron 12/27/2010 3:59:00 PM

This is a tried-and-true primer that has surpassed my expectations, increased the longevity of my foundation, and improved the application of products on my face. I'll break down my review: Price: For $26.50 you receive 1oz of product--that's an amazing value considering how many other primers cost more, if not double this primer. Packaging: In an air-tight pump, this foundation not only keeps product from oxidizing/losing its' potency, but allows for a hygenic means of dispensing product. The pump can be controlled to suit how much product you would like and it's not glass so you don't have to worry about dropping and breaking. It's simple yet highly effective. The Product: The actual product does not fail at all--a white, air-whipped primer that gives a slight, professional sheen to help diffuse light. Nothing glittery, shimmery, or gritty--silicones that fill in lines & pores while simutaneously giving you a healthy natural (yet subtle) glow. It immediately helps even out the complexion and prime the skin. Longevity: My foundation lasts longer, even with my combination skin. While not controlling oil to the max, which primer will if you have out-of-control oily skin? You should focus on getting rid of the oil, not your makeup. My foundation sticks to my face better and not separate or blotch at all. Overall: This is a fantastic primer that covers all the bases a foundation primer should--it allows the skin to breath yet not allowing your makeup to sink into pores and lines. Bravo, MAC.

Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Luminous Silk Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Hoorayitscameron 12/22/2010 4:02:00 PM

A classic foundation that gives flawless coverage, lightweight feel, and a natural luminosity to the complexion. I will break down my review to give my best evaluation on this product: The packaging: Although not the most important aspect of the product, I find it noteworthy when it comes to Giorgio Armani's foundation bottles. The bottle begins with a black, matte wide top and falls down to a thinner body and then widening back at the bottom. Almost like an hourglass, Armani fused modern and sophistication into this aesthetically pleasing bottle. The viscosity/thin-or-thick: This foundation is very thin, almost runny. The fantastic aspect about the fluidity of this product is that you get the lightweight feel of a water-based foundation while simutaneously achieving the coverage you want. This is a light-to-medium coverage that does not look mask-y or cake-like that other full-coverage foundations may give. The finish: Impeccable. A soft semi-matte finish that leans more towards satin, this foundation lasts about 6-7 hours on a somewhat oily complexion (me) without powder. I'm actually afraid of using powder in fear of possibly affecting the finish. A natural, healthy luminous glow is the epitome phrase that can be given to this product--nothing fake, nothing shimmery/glittery, and nothing heavy. The cost: While not the least expensive foundation ($59 retail value here in the United States), the quality of this foundation suprasses how much you pay for it. Gliding over pores and hydrating the skin while not being too rich nor stripping skin of moisture, this foundation definitely feels luxurious and a luxurious price is expected. Other: With no SPF, this foundation is best for photoshoots and going out for special events, shows, clubs, etc.--any scenario that may put you in front of camera lens. Don't be afraid of any white under casts because this foundation takes care of you for that department. Overall: A gorgeous, top-of-the-line foundation. Not only am I more than satisfied with this purchase, but love using it for special events because the longevity is good, the packaging is gorgeous, the finish is healthy, and the wear is lightweight. Bravo, Armani.

Foundations -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Glow Sheers SPF 30
rated 1 of 5
Hoorayitscameron 12/19/2010 7:25:00 PM

Crap. Pure, unadulterated crap. The supposed "glow" this product labels itself as makes you look like rotten cottage cheese mixed with Sunny D--a fake orange barbie tan. I have combination skin (normal-oily) and even in the normal areas of my face did I experience the putrid, horrific effect of low quality product settling into my pores and clumping up in ways I never knew a product could clump. Lasting power? None. I put it on and 1 hour later I had a Chuck E. Cheese face--the worst part? I didn't look any better than the disgustingly creepy rodent Chuck E. Cheese totes as their mascot. The tube was the only decent aspect of this product--cheap mind you--but decent. Finish? This product puts the WHORE in WHOREIFFIC--I look cakey (which is surprising since this is meant to be a tinted moisturizer) without even put much product on. The smell was almost like someone was nibbling on little pieces of shit--it was downright putrid. Very chemical like and unfortunately, predictable of most drugstore cosmetic items out there. Overall, this was the worst experience I ever had the displeasure to have.

Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Lasting Silk UV Foundation SPF20
rated 5 of 5
Hoorayitscameron 12/7/2010 6:10:00 PM

This is a gorgeous foundation that enhances your skin in nearly every fashion. I'll break down my review: 1. The feel. This foundation is very lightweight and thin. However, this foundation is light-to-medium coverage so although it is lightweight, it is still very pigmented. This means easy blendability into the skin (because of its' thin viscosity) yet still achieving the coverage you want. Definitely buildable. 2. The finish. This is a semi-matte finish (not an entirely matte finish as the Giorgio Armani Beauty website describes). This foundation gives you a soft-focus look that evens out the complexion yet looks natural. It is your skin, but better + soft focus. There is no powdery/dry finish whatsoever. 3. The smell. This can actually be a turn off to some because while it isn't pungent, it isn't subtle. Personally I find the smell fresh, but to those who are scent sensitive this can be an issue. 4. I have tried other higher end foundations (two of which were Chanel's Lift Lumiere and Guerlain's Parure Extreme) and this by far surpasses them. This lasts longer while still looking fresh and I feel perform better. 5. Longevity. This foundation lasts about 8-9 hours on me. The fantastic aspect about this foundation is that it looks great 3-4 hours, then on the 5th-6th hour the natural oils of your face will work harmoniously with this foundation to give you a luminous glow. Then on the 7th-8th hour you will most likely need to blot, but then the entire process starts again. I definitely don't mind blotting because of how natural this foundation looks on skin. If you dust light finishing powder over this in the morning (I do not because I love the finish of this foundation and don't want to potentially change it with powder), then it will definitely last longer for you. I have oily-combination skin and can wear this foundation just fine. 6. The cost. While $59 is an investment for a foundation, I believe the cost justifies the quality of this foundation. If you pay $30 for a MAC foundation, then you're most likely getting $30 worth of quality. If you pay $59 for the Armani foundation, you get $59 in quality no questions asked. I definitely opt for the latter. 7. Overall this is a foundation that lasts long, gives you a gorgeous glow while not being oily, glides over your pores, provides medium & lightweight coverage, and will last a while. Classy bottle, too.

Primer/ Corrector -Korres - Silicone-Free Face Primer
rated 4 of 5
Hoorayitscameron 12/7/2010 3:24:00 PM

The Korres Face Primer is a fantastic alternative to a silicone-based primer. I'll break down my review: 1) The feel--this primer does not feel greasy, does not sit on top of the skin, and feels good as you blend it on your face. As a result, this is a great alternative to the typical 'greasy' or 'slick' feeling a lot of reviewers compain about silicone-based primers (i.e. Smashbox, etc). 2) The smell--although personally I find the smell subtle and even then very natural (it's the citrus honey in the product), it is welcoming. Not too strong at all for those who are scent sensitive. 3) The amount. I believe 1.01 Fluid Ounce for about $28 is great for a primer that is primarily natural and organic. Most effective primers are around this price range and this product will definitely last you a while--especially since the product is in a tube (easy to squeeze out every last drop). 4) The longevity. I believe this primer does increase the longevity of my make-up, however I will admit that a silicone-based primer can make my make-up last longer and control oil better. However, this is a fantastic primer that gets close to those standards without having to potentially clog pores or mask your skin. *I understand a primer is suppose to create a barrier so that your foundation/make-up does not settle into pores/lines, however you need to realize that primer will fill those pores & lines--how is that any healthier to then add foundation on top? In turn that can cause more problems. With a silicone-free primer that has a powerful antioxidant (Vitamin E), there is less chance of causing harm to your complexion. Finally, I find this foundation to help even out my skin tone immediately upon application. Not a miracle experience by any means, but it feels healthy going on. I definitely recommend this for those who are sensitive to silicone and are looking for a quality primer. I am combination-oily skin and find my skin looks better in the long run with use of this primer.

Liquid -Guerlain - Parure Extreme
rated 5 of 5
Hoorayitscameron 11/14/2010 8:12:00 PM

What a fantastic product that delivers. Let me break my review down: 1) Packaging: Gorgeous, as it should be! For $56 I would expect an elegant package that looks good. It's gold with a black pump and easy-to-take-off top that is almost center-piece good. 2) Pump: I'm not only glad that this foundation has a pump, but it's so easy to control how much pressure you want to apply! You can definitely control whether or not you want 1/3, 2/3 or a full pump of product out. 3) Smell: There is a slight smell so those who are scent sensitive shouldn't worry because it isn't strong. The smell itself is very pleasant in my opinion. 4) Viscosity/Thick-or-thin: This product is very thin, not exactly runny but close. This is great because the product is *very* pigmented so you don't have to use a lot of product just because it is thin! Thin means the product will be able to blend better into your skin. 5) Blendability: It is a dream to blend! Whether you use your fingers, MAC 109 or 187 (all brushes I have used), this is a fool-proof foundation to apply. 6) Other: This foundation doesn't oxidize on me, dries to a matte (but not flat) finish that truly looks like skin. A 'glow-from-within' look. Overal: A fabulous product that is luxurious both in packaging and in feel. You cannot go wrong with this foundation; it is long wearing and transfer-resistant as well. For $56, I would say this foundation is well worth the investment, or at least a sample!

Primer/ Corrector -Korres - Quercetin & Oak Antiageing Face Primer
rated 4 of 5
Hoorayitscameron 10/8/2010 5:55:00 PM

You know...I believe this product is good--not great--but good. Here's why: -It's silicone free. That's fantastic because it tends to give less of a 'greasy' feel (as opposed to smashbox photofinish), however it just feels like a light moisturizer. -Hardly noticeable citrus scent. Very refreshing and natural in my opinion :) -Feels great on skin. -Make up does last longer. -As far as antiageing...I am 19 so I cannot attest 100% to the potency of this product, but I feel like my skin has looked better in the weeks that I have been using this primer. -Overall: It's a good primer. My make up does last longer and it has antiageing properties to it. However, I feel I can get a better primer (such as MAC or Benefit) that does better.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - The Porefessional
rated 4 of 5
Hoorayitscameron 10/8/2010 3:27:00 PM

This product does what it says--it minimizes pores! I really enjoy this product and I'll break it down as to why: -Texture: The texture is more on the balm side, which is fantastic because I found that Dr. Brandt's Pores no more Pore Refiner (which is also a cult favorite to some) was too thin and seemed to ball-up on me. This balm-like texture gives me better control. -Smell: None--that's great! -Performance/color: I like how the color isn't too dark nor too light; I can see this fitting most colors, however when you blend the product out you can barely notice the color of the product. This not only covers pores, but also refines skin texture. -Finish: A soft matte finish. -Price: For .75 fluid ounces you need to shell out about $28. This can be rather expensive, however I've had mine for 3 months so far. This comes out to be about $10 a month and even then I still have enough to last me another month. A pretty good value. -OVERALL: A great product that refines skin texture (not necessarily large scars, but great for tiny scars/shallow marks and of course pores!) I will definitely re-purchase. I believe you should get 1 full ounce of product for $30, but I still love it :)

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Hoorayitscameron 10/7/2010 3:06:00 AM

I love this foundation, and i'll break it down as to why: The finish: This new foundation has such a beautiful finish that distinguishes it from all of mac's other foundations--it's not as matte as studio fix fluid nor as satiny as mineralized satin finish. Although it is more on the matte side, there is just a touch of dewy glow that looks natural. I have oily skin and by all means this foundation does not exacerbate that. Longevity: I love how long this foundation lasts! I'll apply it at 9am and when I check in the mirror at 7pm (10 hours--a normal school/work day for me), it still looks flawless! Mind you it doesn't look exactly as you first applied it, but it gets -darn- close! Coverage: Personally I love light-to-medium (not sheer--it starts out light!) and this covers everything I need it to. It is very creamy and easy to blend. I use my mac 109 brush (spritz it with water) and it gives me a flawless finish. You can certainly build up the coverage with this foundation. Price: For about $29-30, this product is comparable to higher end foundations that cost a lot more. This product stays on your face extremely well, there is a wide selection of colors to choose from (get samples first!), and is easy to blend. A fantastic foundation that looks natural, feels weightless, and lasts all day. You get more in value than what you pay for.
