Misc Beauty Tools -DHC - Silky Cotton

I buy this with almost every order I place with DHC. Love them because they are lint free and soft. I use them for toners and for nail polish removal.

Cleansers -DHC - Washing Powder
HistoryLady71 6/24/2012 2:12:00 PM
I have used this powder in the past and usually have a bottle at home for travel or for when my skin is particularly oily. I put a little powder in my hand and mix it with water until I get some lather and then use that to wash my face. I do agree that it can be a bit drying if overused or not mixed with water before putting it on my face.

Moisturizers -DHC - Water based moisture
HistoryLady71 6/24/2012 2:01:00 PM
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product. I think that this is the best moisturizer that I've ever used. I have oily skin and this keeps it hydrated without making me an oil slick. I like the consistency--slightly thicker than water--and how refreshing it is to splash it on. I love the way it plumps up the skin and they way it prepares my skin for BB cream. I have tried other moisturizers for oily skin but none of them ever feel as good as this. I have bought this many times and will continue to do so.

Cleansers -DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil
HistoryLady71 6/24/2012 1:54:00 PM
I've been using this off and on for about 8 years. I have oily skin with enlarged pores and I am prone to breakouts along the jawline. I really like this for removing makeup, including mascara, sunscreen, BB cream and other foundations. I usually use one or two pumps on dry skin, massage it in for a minute or two, and then use a white washcloth and relatively hot water to rinse it off. I follow by washing my face with one of DHC's cleansers--I use different ones depending on the season and the behavior of my skin (I like the CoQ10 facial film, the washing powder, and the face wash). I find that when I am religious about doing using the oil and washing right afterwards, my skin is much, much better and the jawline breakouts are much reduced. There have been times when I've run out and had to wait for a new delivery and I have used organic coconut oil to cleanse. That works okay for a few days, but not as well as the DHC oil. I have bought this oil many, many times and will continue to use it for the foreseeable future.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
HistoryLady71 6/23/2012 2:06:00 PM
I began using this because the Garnier BB cream made me curious about trying more BB creams. I have oily skin with enlarged pores on my cheeks and so far this works really work for me. I do like to use the DHC Water Based Moisture under this because it allows me to smooth the BB cream out better when I apply it. I'm glad that I read the reviews on here before attempting to apply it because it does come out greyish and I think that I would have given up on it if I hadn't known that. Once it oxidizes, it is a great match for my skin. I bought it from the Skin79 website because I wanted to make sure that I got the real thing. They shipped quickly. Once I started wearing this every day I got curious about their Hot Pink Sun Protect Beblesh Pact and ordered that too. I apply that with a foundation brush over the BB cream and I like the results very much. My husband says my skin looks "clean" when I use these two products. I love the packaging for the BB cream because it seems very hygienic. I have already repurchased and have bought other Skin79 BB creams for my mother and sister.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Volume
HistoryLady71 5/31/2012 7:21:00 PM
I have tremendous problems with mascara--I wear rgp lenses, I had a corneal transplant a few years ago, I have the OILIEST eyelids on the planet, I have allergies that make me teary--and yet I feel like I really can't do without it. I have tried different brands at different price points and I have come across some very good mascaras that work for me. Most of the ones that do are expensive and hard to get so I keep trying ds mascaras when they are on sale to see if I can find one that works for me. I have tried most of CG's Lash Blast line and picked this one up because it was a special edition white tube (for the Olympics, I think) that really caught my eye and it was on sale. I tried it without expecting much (I've been pretty underwhelmed with the other CG mascaras I've tried). To my great surprise, I found that I love this. It makes my eyelashes look ridiculously long and curled. It doesn't irritate my eyes and stays put in south Texas summer weather. It does crumble a bit late in the day so I do remove it when I get home and I know that I am not going out anymore. I usually use some sort of oil on my face to remove makeup (I use the DHC brand or organic coconut oil) and that does help with removal. I do not have problems with the applicator being so large and find that it does coat all of my eyelashes. My husband even commented on how good my eyes looked which was nice. I will definitely be buying this again and hope that the regular orange tube works as well as the special edition white tube.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
HistoryLady71 3/17/2012 5:23:00 PM
I received this about a week ago from bzzagent and have been using it instead of a foundation every day since then. I received the medium/deep one because by the time I signed on they were out of the light/medium one which is the one I would have chosen. I was prepared to not like this product--I've never really run into a Garnier product that I liked and I thought the color would be all wrong for me--but I am happy to say that I am very pleasantly surprised. I like this tinted cream very much and the color works really well for me--I have been polling my husband and friends the entire week about the color and they all say it looks good. It isn't too dark and doesn't make me look orange. I like the thick creamy consistency which turns surprisingly light on the skin--it feels like you aren't wearing anything and it seems to be pretty transfer resistant which is always a problem for me. I apply it over my vitamin c moisturizer from DHC and I am good to go. It really is too soon to say if it doing any "anti-aging" anything but I do look pretty awake and my skin looks good and I like the way it feels so at this stage I would definitely buy a new tube when I run out. It has not broken me out or clogged my pores so that's a plus for me. I looked up the price and it seems to be about $13.00 which is really reasonable for the large tube that you get. ETA--I'm still using this and still liking it a lot. I find that the color is perfect for me and it's the most natural looking tinted moisturizer/foundation that I own. It's now summer here (close to 100 degree weather and humidity) and it does not slide off of my face like other products. I have been using this consistently and the tube is still half full so I continue to believe it is a great value for the price.

Powder -Merle Norman - Luxiva Ultra Powder Foundation
HistoryLady71 11/20/2011 8:20:00 PM
I began using this two weeks ago after using a Revlon product that looked fine but broke me up horribly. Since I began using this I have had no new breakouts. The color (Ultra Golden) is fantastic on me and blends beautifully. I find that if you apply it with a foundation brush it gives medium coverage that is buildable over trouble spots. If this doesn't break me out I will definitely buy it again. I use other Merle Norman products I absolutely love: blush, lip pencils, etc. I am not sure why I hadn't tried the foundation before but now I'm a fan. ETA: As of 4/2012 I have stopped using this for a couple of reasons: 1) the Merle Norman store that I could easily get to has closed, but 2) more importantly, I've discovered that the Skin79 Pink BB cream gives me much better results.

Blush -Maybelline - Fit Me - Medium Coral
HistoryLady71 9/3/2011 12:42:00 PM
Bought this on a whim because it was on sale at the grocery store and it wound up being less than $3. I wasn't expecting much to tell the truth, but it ended up being a nice surprise. The color on me is subtle and glowy and it lasts all day. I may try other blush colors from this line.

Crème -Revlon - PhotoReady Compact Makeup
HistoryLady71 9/3/2011 12:20:00 PM
I bought this because I couldn't afford to buy my regular mineral foundation. When I don't use a mineral foundation, I prefer creme foundations because I apply them with a brush and it's fast and easy. I got the Medium Beige (250) which does have SPF 20 and I've been using it for a week. The color is basically a perfect match and I like the texture a lot. I have not seen the "sparkles" that other reviewers have complained about and I live in a very, very, very sunny place AND I have looked and made my friends look at me and so far no "sparkles." I have combination skin and this stays on really well when applied with a foundation brush. I like the way it feels (I do wear a moisturizer and primer underneath) and my husband has remarked several times this week that I look really great (new makeup?). I will use this until it runs out and if it keeps performing this way I will definitely repurchase. It's just so much easier to work with than mineral powders and not as messy. I also like that it's not as expensive and that I can pretty much get it anywhere. From my personal experience, I am really surprised that there are so many bad reviews for this product. Buy it someplace where you can return opened products and give it a try. EDIT: I have stopped using this and lowered my rating from 4 to 2. I broke out terribly on my jawline--cysts and smaller pimples. At first I thought it was caused by my switching skincare products but that usually doesn't happen to me. Then I finally ran out of this makeup and switched to Merle Norman's Ultra Powder foundation and the breakouts stopped. That was two weeks ago. I stopped breaking out and I find that I really like the Ultra Powder. I don't think that the Revlon looked bad on me but it was terrible for my skin.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Salux Nylon Japanese Bath Towel
HistoryLady71 7/30/2011 1:06:00 AM
I absolutely love these. I bought them because of the many recommendations on MUA and also Amazon. I bought them online from www.saluxshop.com and they came very quickly and were packaged nicely with a little note from the lady who runs the site. I love the exfoliation I get from them and do enjoy using them everyday. I also bought one for my husband and will probably give some of these as presents when appropriate to friends and family. I used to spend time and money buying scrubs or making my own, but since I've purchased these I have not really need any scrub. I think that some might find these a little too "scrubby" the first few days but they're worth getting used for the excellent results you get--you're skin will be absolutely smooth and glowing and your moisturizers will work better.

Shampoo -John Frieda - Root Awakening Shampoo - Health Enhancing for Normal Hair
HistoryLady71 7/30/2011 12:55:00 AM
I discovered this shampoo and the moisturizing conditioner when I forgot my (salon) shampoo and conditioner during a business trip. I figured my hair would not be too badly off if I used a drugstore brand just for a few days. The first day I washed and conditioned, I was surprised by how much I really liked the results. I have lots of colored and highlighted dark hair that can be a pain sometimes. That first day I thought it was just a fluke--that by the second or third day I would hate the results. I find that both products leave my hair clean and just moisturized enough--not too heavy and limp. I also find that my hair is smoother and I can straighten or curl it easier. I was so impressed with these products that I ended up buying the John Frieda Hair Serum (the thermal one) and I have found it to be excellent as well. I have already purchased both shampoo and conditioner and I will do so again. Highly recommended.
