Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Sweet on Paris
rated 4 of 5

I was quite surprised to find that I really like this. Originally I bought it for my roommate, but then after I came home with it I found that I liked it more than I thought I would, and a few days later I bought another for myself. It's a gourmand, but it's different from other BBW gourmands in a way. It's not a one dimensional vanilla, it doesn't smell like cookies, and it's not obnoxiously fruity. In a way it reminds me of Carried Away, but more unique and less immediately fruity. On me (with my body chemistry which seems to bring out warmer/deeper/spicier notes in virtually everything, and with the body wash I use, which is mainly patchouli scented) it smells a lot like Victoria's Secret Dream Angels Forever and layers well with it. I did not expect to like this all that much; I'm more of a spicy/woodsy/ambery/oriental person; most gourmands were never really my thing. I definitely did not expect to like this and despise Paris Nights, which was marketed to seem a lot more like what I like than it actually is *coughONEDIMENSIONALOLDLADYFLORALcough.* But this is nice. If they bring it back some semi-annual or another I may buy it again, although it will never replace my beloved BBW Aromatherapy Black Currant Vanilla. EDIT: People who, like me, prefer spicier/deeper scents should mix this with BBW Aromatherapy Warm Milk and Honey lotion. The latter is spicy in a cinnamon/nutmeg/clove way and creamy but lacking the sweet/vanilla note that scents of its kind have, so Sweet on Paris sweetens and enlivens it, while Warm Milk and Honey deepens Sweet on Paris, and I for one love them mixed together. However be sure to use a tiny amount of Paris and more of the Aromatherapy stuff, as the former is much stronger and can overpower the latter.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Paris Nights

This just made me mad. My roommate got it for me because she looked at the fragrance notes/how it was marketed, etc. and it seemed like a woodsy/spicy/ambery oriental, which she knows is what I like. So I get excited and open it and ugh. Seductive blend of jasmine, cabernet and musk, my rear end. It was floral. Pure and unadulterated old lady floral. No amber/vanilla/musk, not even fruit or vanilla to mellow out the old lady. Like Velvet Tuberose, but worse. I expected it to be a deeper, less sweet version of Dark Kiss, or a Dark Kiss/Black Amethyst hybrid. It is neither. Even Black Amethyst isn't this much of a letdown, and I thought BA was the definition of a scent that despite being marketed as deep/rich/sexy was nothing more than a one-dimensional floral on me. And did I mention florals smell awful on me in general? Like dead flowers. They change on me like you wouldn't believe and this one was no exception. So no. Never thought I'd be saying this but I much preferred Sweet on Paris (a light sweet gourmand, kind of like Carried Away but different) to Paris Nights (a supposed deep, rich, seductive oriental...Hah. Yeah right.)

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Aromatherapy Black Currant Vanilla
rated 5 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 7/1/2012 1:20:00 AM

Absolutely transcendent. One of my all time favorites. The top notes are very fruit/berry with a little citrus, then the vanilla comes in, and the dry down is a warm, vanillic amber/musk/patchouli type scent (at that stage, it reminds me a lot of Calvin Klein's Obsession.) My body chemistry really brings out the warm/dark/spicy/musky notes--the bright fruitiness goes away pretty quickly. I must say it is quite sexy. Not extremely out there like, say, Dark Kiss (which makes me feel like a downright siren on good days and somewhat skanky on my bad days), or very dark like Black Amethyst. It's closer to the skin but still at once alluring and comforting. For people like me, who refuse to wear bright fruity/sweet floral scents in favor of the spicy and dark and musky, this is a perfect "anytime, anywhere" scent, although I can see why some would see it as something for winter evenings only.

Yes, this is very strong and sweet. No, it is not for the faint of heart. No, it should not be worn to work or out to the grocery store. But I'm not going to lie, wearing this always has and always will make me feel like a downright sexy vixen. I don't wear it on a daily basis, but when I feel like something decadent, this is perfect. And the boy seems to love it. ;)

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Give Me Love
rated 3 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 11/23/2011 11:48:00 AM

This smells almost exactly like last Christmas's limited edition Naughty and Nice. This is somewhat fruitier, with more creamy vanilla, and sweeter overall. Otherwise it's virtually the same, and I was not in love with N&N. If it had a darker amber/patchouli/sandalwood base I'd like it a lot more. I was excited about it when I first heard of it, but then I smelled it and it was just too much like N&N, which is nice but not extra special. It tries to be sexy and sophisticated but it's just eh.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Exotics: Moonlit Jasmine
rated 4 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 9/4/2011 3:32:00 PM

To me, this smells almost exactly like Victoria's Secret Glam Goddess (I've no clue what the line is called, but the bottle is purple leopard print and it's supposed to be "naked musk and sensual freesia") except more floral, without the cake-y note. I think I like Glam Goddess better, actually; Moonlit Jasmine is too flowery. It's a fairly musky, soft, sweet floral. Don't know if it really smells like jasmine to me--I'm originally Jordanian, and my grandmother's house in Jordan has jasmine growing all around it, and it smells nothing like this. Like most VS fragrances, it's pretty, but nothing special. It's definitely more sensual and sophisticated than some of their other shite (Love Spell and Pure Seduction and Mango Temptation and the accursed Strawberries and Champagne --fruit punch-y crap) but it definitely didn't make me go 'wow'. I'll either finish it or trade it in for another thing of Seductive Amber (which is AMAZING and y'all should try it) or something else, but I know I won't buy it again. It's a really pretty scent, but I didn't fall in love. And I have to fall in love with a scent to EVER buy it again.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Glam Shine Sorbet in Bubbly #410
rated 2 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 6/14/2010 8:57:00 PM

I gave this thing 2 stars because it's not sticky and it smells good and the price is decent. However, I will never ever ever in my life buy it again. You know why? Because it is bright, blaring, blinding, highlighter ORANGE. With SILVER SPARKLES. GRITTY silver sparkles. Seriously? Ew. And it doesn't stay, which I guess isn't bad in this case because who wants bright highlighter orange on their lips any more than absolutely necessary. I love you L'Oreal, but seriously? No.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Blackest Black
rated 5 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 7/28/2009 12:31:00 AM

I don't see why everyone's bashing this mascara. I think it's better than most mascaras I've tried. The small brush helps me be more precise in applying it, for starters. When they say "blackest black," they mean it. This mascara is such a deep, rich black! I love it! The formula is on the wet side, but it's not as runny and wet as people are saying. It's almost creamy (that might sound weird since mascara can't really be creamy) and doesn't clump on my very average lashes. It holds a curl fairly well, and I don't end up with raccoon eyes (unless of course my eyes come into contact with water. Trust me, it ain't pretty when that happens), and it washes off without any problems. It can look natural or semi dramatic, depending on how many coats you use. Overall, great mascara. Will probably buy it again.

Eyes -Rimmel - Eye Twist Automatic Duo Liner & Shadow
rated 2 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 7/24/2009 7:44:00 PM

I got this on clearance at Ulta. I have no idea what the shade is called, but the eyeshadow is a sheer, shimmery lilac and the eyeliner is a taupey brown. I saw it and I was like okay, purple and brown, that's cute. The shadow side is really pretty. It is a lilac-y shade of purple, shimmery but not glittery. The shimmer is not silver, gold, bronze, or white--it's pure purple shimmer, which I love. I am very fair with yellow/peachy undertones and amber brown eyes, and this shade of purple looks fabulous on me. However, I hate that it's not a powder shadow. It's creamy-ish, so it makes my eyelids look oily if I don't have primer on. The eyeliner side, however, pretty much sucks. I thought it would be a cool toned, light brown, but it turned out to be a weird silvery taupe color. To make things worse, it did not show up at all on my eyelids. My skin is neither brown nor cool toned, so that's saying something. The packaging also sucks. The eyeliner stick is like an inch and a half long, and same with the eyeshadow stick. There is not enough product. Also, the eyeliner stick broke. I won't be buying it again, but I'll probably finish the eyeshadow side.

Lip Treatments -Pixi - Lip Stain/Plumper in Star
rated 5 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 7/8/2009 2:15:00 AM

I got this as a gift and I love it!!! The color is a sheer, bright, warm coral. The texture is thick and rich, but not sticky. The shine is light and pretty, definitely not glassy a la MAC Lipglass. The smell--YUM!!! It smells like a chai latte!! Cinnamon, ginger, even a hint of nutmeg--ahhh love it. It definitely tingles like it should, and--I can't believe I'm saying this--as a plumper, it actually worked!! Don't expect it to turn pencil thin lips into Angelina Jolie-esque pillows, but for what I wanted, it worked fabulously! I already have full enough lips, but I wanted something to fill in those pesky lines. I put this on for the first time, and fifteen minutes later, I looked in the mirror, and I thought "omg wow!! there's actually a difference!!!!!" Yes, my fine lines were considerably smoothed out, and my bottom lip (which has always been inferior to my top lip) definitely looked a little more pouty. I honestly am not sure if I am going to buy it again, though. It's like $14 at Target, which is too much for a lip gloss, plumping or not. If I don't find a less expensive alternative, I will buy it again.

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Plump
rated 4 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 7/8/2009 1:56:00 AM

Pros: AMAZING cinnamon smell. I can even smell nutmeg and ginger!! It smells like a chai latte (which I am addicted to). Not only that, it smells like MY kind of chai lattes (I make them really really strong; I take a teabag and steep it for WAY longer than 5 minutes and then add even more ginger and cinnamon). Love it!! what can I say I have a weakness for chai! Cute color (I got it in Hel-pink-i, which is way more of a frosty light golden peach than pink. Very cute for summer. Not sticky. Cons: Absolutely no plumping to speak of. I didn't even feel the tingle!! I smelled the cinnamon and sorta tasted it, but I didn't feel it. However, that isn't really enough for me to take off a point. I have Mediterranean features and therefore don't really need lip plumper, and the chai scent is enough to make up for the lack of tingling. The packaging is ridiculously bulky and only holds like 3 ml of product. Simply pathetic. NYC Lippin' Large lip plumper holds like 5x the product for the exact same price (and I prefer NYC stuff to WNW anyway). Like, I honestly found myself running out after only a month. The fact that it has zero lasting power doesn't help the reapplication factor. I love that it's not sticky, but I hate that it lasts for all of 10 minutes. I have no clue if I will repurchase. It doesn't do anything, the packaging sucks, and it doesn't really stay, but I'm just SO in love with the chai latte scent, I'd probably buy it again not because it actually works as a lip plumper, but because the color is cute and it smells absolutely divineee (: (:

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist Lipwear - Ruby
rated 4 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 7/7/2009 11:51:00 PM

I got this because 1) it was ridiculously cheap and 2) I love red lipstick, but I'm very fair, so unless it's sheer, I look like Cruella DeVil. And the reviews say this shade is pretty sheer. First things first--the formula is great. It's very smooth and moist feeling. It doesn't feel like lipstick. It's pretty gosh darn moisturizing, and the lasting power is decent. It smells like Estee Lauder lipstick and doesn't taste like anything. BUT and this is a big BUT the color did not look good on me. On my lips, it was not ruby red, but bright fuschia. I have warm undertones, and fuschia is not only a garish color but *very* cool toned. Needless to say, it looked horrendous on me. So I won't be buying this again--at least not in this shade. I might try their "sheer red" or "retro red" in the hope that it's more of a neutral/warm red.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Pomegranate Hydrating Body Spray
rated 5 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 7/7/2009 7:29:00 PM

Love this! It's usually $14 but I got it at the semiannual for $2. It smells really really good--a true, pure, untainted pomegranate scent. No orange, no weird spicy/woody base notes (ahem--B&BW MIDNIGHT POMEGRANATE, you know who you are). Just pomegranate. And I love that, because pomegranate is such a hard scent to do right, ya know? It's refreshing and pure and perfect for summer, but it can be worn at any time of year. My bf loves it (: and I would choose it over Midnight Pom ANY DAY!!!(: amazing.

Lip Gloss -New York Color - Lippin' Large--First Kiss
rated 5 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 7/4/2009 9:11:00 PM

I really like this lip gloss. There is no such shade as "First Kiss"--I think the reviewer meant "Toffee Kiss." That's the shade I bought too--I needed a warm, caramel/toffee nude lip gloss. It's much lighter and sheerer than it appears in the picture or in the tube. On me, it simply tones down the redness and brings out the warmth in my lip color. It has very VERY fine shimmer as well. The texture is sorta creamy, not too thick or too thin. Staying power is decent. Moderately moisturizing Smell is minty, taste is slightly minty with a plasticky element that really is not worth me taking off a point. I don't go around eating my lip gloss. Tingles very slightly. No real plumping to speak of, but I have Mediterranean features and they include fuller lips. Not Jolie lips, but fuller than most of my friends' lips. So I don't need it. Overall, nice lip gloss. Would buy it again. I want it in Peach Parfait. UPDATE: omg I just realized that yes, this actually did make my lips look fuller!!! not really plumping; it just enhances my lips' natural fullness and somewhat gets rid of the pesky lines (I'm 15--I shouldn't have lines in my lips!! D:) LOVELOVELOVELOVEIT. Lemming it in Peach Parfait and Strawberry Mousse. If I don't buy it tomorrow at Target, I will cry. <3 bye!

Lip Gloss -New York Color - Liquid Lip Shine - Pearl Glow 548U
rated 4 of 5
HeyThereDelilah9 7/4/2009 8:53:00 PM

I actually really liked this back when I had it. It looks pearly white with lilac, pale pink and silver pearly shimmer in it. It's very fine shimmer. It looks really cool on me--clearish and shiny with an ethereal, almost holographic shimmer. The texture was middle-of-the-road--not thick and goopy, but not thin or slick either. It was a pretty ok texture and the lasting power was pretty decent. It didn't smell as bad as some of the other shades (cough cough SUNGOLD PINK), but it was still plasticky/chemically. However, I don't go around eating my lip gloss so frankly, I don't give a hoot. Black Cherry Frost definitely deserved to be d/c'd, but this didn't. Why?? (but I must say I love NYC's new stuff!! unlike some other companies--cough cough BATH AND BODY WORKS--that d/c all their good stuff and replace it with utter sh!t)
