Hair -Jerome Russell - Punky Color
HelenaN 9/4/2011 5:54:00 PM
Well for starters, I have been dying my hair for a really long time and over the years I have tried many hair dyes. I have used manic panic, raw, special effects, you name it. I've probably used it. About a year ago, I stumbled upon "punky color" by Jerome Russel and I instantly fell in love. The colors come out so vibrant and rich! Unlike other people, I have absolutely no problem with staining. My sink and bath tub are white but if I get dye on it, I scrub it with some baking soda and toothpaste and presto, no proof that dye was ever there! Punky color dye is simply fabulous, they have a wide range of colors and it is no harder to apply than Manic Panic. This color stays in for a long time and always fades pleasantly. In canada, I can scoop up a container of punky color for a mere $10 whereas Manic Panic costs $16 in most stores. I have treid bright yellow, atlantic blue, lagoon blue, purple, poppy red and spring green. All of the colors are just so stunning. As a highschool student, coming to school with vibrant crazy hair is always a plus. I get tons of compliments. The price and sheer good quality makes "punky color" my number one HG product.

Styling Products -Alberto Vo5 - rework Fibre Putty
HelenaN 9/4/2011 5:40:00 PM
I have never had short hair in my entire life but a week ago, I got it cut short. Like... really short. I probably look like I belong on the "Lesbians who look like Justin Bieber" website. :) But moving on, the shortest my hair had ever been was shoulder length so I never really had the need for any gel. After I got my haircut, I picked up a container of the Alberto Extreme Style {rework} fibre putty. It was only $5 so I thought I'd give it a try. The package is average and there really isn't anything special or magnificent about it. The putty itself is this thick (and I mean thick) white goop that has a rather pleasant scent. When you scoop some out with your fingers it feels very waxy but it does its job really well. The packaging says its ideal for short hair and boy is it! I work it in every direction so my hair looks all messy and pixie like, sorta like I just rolled out of bed, I'm in highschool and it lasts from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm easily. I shower when I get home so I'm not sure if it will hold out longer but the packaging claims it stays and maintains hold for 24 hours. The price is half decent for the amount and it lasts. It also washes out easily. Another thing I like is that its made in the USA not overseas... so I'm less aprehensive about the quality. In the end, I really like it and until I find something better I'm going to buy it and make it an HG product!

Scrubs -Freeman - Pomegranate Sugar Body Scrub
HelenaN 8/25/2011 6:10:00 AM
I saw this in a store (can't remember which one...) and I thought it looked interesting to try for a mere $3.00. It smelt great when I flipped the cap because I really love the smell of pomegranate. When I was showering, I stood back from the water to squeeze some in my hand. I rub it on my shoulder and neck and it hand a nice grit too it. It wasn't too rough like sandpaper but it wan't non existent. As I rubbed it created a really neat sensation, it got warm. Like really warm. When I stepped back into the water the scrub slowly just melted off my skin. After drying myself off, the skin on my shoulders and neck felt intensely soft and clean. I really like this scrub but have one complaint. Each tube costs only $3.00 canadian where I live but it doesn't last long. If you shower more than once a day every single day of the week, there is noway this little tube will last you. If you only use it when you need itand alternate between an exfoliating body wash it will last. I will continue to repurchase though.

Masks -Freeman - Chocolate & Strawberry Detoxifying Mask
HelenaN 8/25/2011 6:03:00 AM
I really love all Freeman products because of their qquality and price and because they are made in the U.S.A and not made in China. I am rubbing all over my face afterall! Anyway, I saw this product in the store and what really grabbed my attention was the chocolate part. I flipped the lid and smelt the aroma and was floored. For $3.00, even if it didn't work well~ who cares? I'll just smell it when I'm really hungry or something ^o^ So, I exfoliated my skin with a scrub and then used a acne cleanser. I pat dried my face and rubbed a thin layer of the mask on my face. In about 2 minutes, I could feel it pulling slightly on my skin and when I looked in the mirror, it looked dry. I used warm wate to wipe it off and as I was doing so, I could already feel the difference. When I looked in the mirror, my skin looked clean and dewy like some magical tree fairy or something! And when I touched my skin it felt so pure and soft. Looking closer, my pores looked perfect! I really love this mask and it is definetly and "HG" product.

Scrubs -Freeman - Creamy Apricot Scrub
HelenaN 8/25/2011 5:56:00 AM
I used to use St.Ive's apricot scrub but I found it too gritty and decided to try Freeman's version instead. At first, I wasn't all too crazy about the smell but I got over it. It works fairly well and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean afterwards. For $3 on sale, it does a super job. The packaging is standard squeeze tube. I buy it every time I run out. :3

Hair Color -Manic Panic - Ultra Violet
HelenaN 8/25/2011 5:52:00 AM
I have been dying my hair for years and I especially love using bright stand out color. The first time I tried the Ultra Violet color I was thrilled with the ease of application and the vibrancy. I wash my hair every other day and the color lasted a bit longer than 2 months. The color did not fade to any ugly gray shade but instead faded to a light lilac color. You need to bleach your hair a very specific shade to get it just quite right. A lot of the time, people bleach their hair way to much (Like paper white) or they don't bleach it enough. The color looks ugly when it fades because chances are, your bleach job was ugly. Layering a beautiful color over a bad bleach job hides it at first but when the color fades it looks really bad. Don't blame it on the dye, learn how to bleach your hair properly.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Spectro AcneCare Deep Pore Vanishing Lotion
HelenaN 8/25/2011 4:40:00 AM
So I am have combination skin that can be really dry and sometimes really oily. I am under 18 and my skin is acne prone. I get a lot of blemishes on my chin and forehead and I could never find anything to get rid of my acne. I heard that spectro was generally a good brand so I picked up a bottle of the regular Deep pore vanisher, not the sensitive one. I tried it on my skin and it acutally worked the first time, reducing the apperance of blemishes. When I went to use it the next day, my skin broke out in a rash. Yes, a rash! I definitely do not have sensitive skin but this stuff ruined my face. I had to put this anti-ich/rash cream on my face and it took 4 days to properly heal. Honestly, this stuff is crap and a waste of money. You pay $6 for a tiny bottle and it sucks. Will never repurchase, thumbs down for sure.
