Blush -MAC - Dollymix
Hautest 2/5/2013 12:59:00 PM
I have wanted to try a pink blush for years, but was afraid it would look ridiculous on my slighter darker than NC45 complexion. Dollymix is pink perfection. It's a sheertone, so the color is not as intense as it appears in the pan. However, a super soft blush brush and a light hand are recommended. I will definitely repurchase when I run out!

Cleansers -Mary Kay - Mary Kay Deep Cleanser Formula 3
Hautest 12/29/2012 4:32:00 PM
This is my holy grail cleanser. My skin is oily in the warmer months and closer to normal during the cooler months. I use this cleanser year round because it cleans my skin and removes the right amount of oil. Not too much, because that will only cause the skin to overcompensate by producing a lot more oil. This cleanser also removes makeup extremely well and is fragrance free. My consultant sells me the products at a discount, so the cost is reasonable. If you would like to purchase inexpensively, check Ebay and Craigslist.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Master Drama by Eyestudio Cream Pencil in Sapphire Strength
Hautest 11/10/2012 8:02:00 PM
I was on the lookout for an eyeliner to replace Mary Kay Navy. I found the Sapphire Strength eyeliner in Target and decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did. I love the color; it is a vibrant cobalt blue. It shows up beautifully on my African American skin. It is bright enough, but not so bright that it looks like you are wearing your daughter's makeup. There is no way to sharpen the pencil, so if you like to draw a super thin line, this product will not work for you. I don't draw a super thin line, so it works extremely well for me. I love the way it just glides on. And it stays put all day; no smudging. I will definitely buy this product again. ETA: I still love this liner, but it has a tendency to smudge when used on the waterline.

Skincare - Body -Dr. Bronner's - Lavender Liquid Soap
Hautest 7/24/2006 1:16:00 PM
I use this product as a bath soak and I absolutely love it! The lavender essential oil makes the bathroom smell heavenly, and it lifts my spirits. I don't have to apply lotion to my body after soaking in this, due to the olive, hemp and jojoba oils present in this product. And, it's dirt cheap and easily accessible!

Cleansers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Cleanser
Hautest 12/15/2005 12:47:00 PM
I bought this product because a dermatologist recommended it in O Magazine. It has a strong fragrance, and mica crystals, which serve no purpose for skincare. It was a waste of my money. It made my face break out allover with tiny little whiteheads. I stopped using it for about 6 months, when I ran out of my Mary Kay Deep Cleanser 3. It made my skin break out again. I will never, ever buy this product again.

Makeup Brushes -Japonesque - Blush Brush #324
Hautest 9/26/2005 5:27:00 PM
The squirrel hair is super soft. However this brush shed profusely. I had it for a month, washed it several times, and it never stopped shedding. I bought a powder brush at the same time and it shed a lot too. I returned after 30 days.

Fragrances -Kenneth Cole - Kenneth Cole 'BLACK' for women
Hautest 3/16/2005 6:07:00 PM
I spritzed this on my wrist today. It smells like a weaker version of Narciso Rodriguez to me. The staying power isn't great. This perfume will work well for people who need unoffensive fragrances for the workplace.

I am in the process of locking my hair. I use this pomade to twist my roots after washing. It's pretty good and easy on the wallet.

Lipstick -MAC - All Lipsticks
Hautest 2/22/2004 5:53:00 PM
I have 3 MAC lipsticks: fetish, fluid and media. The colors are beautiful, however they make my lips peel terribly, even with lip balm underneath. I won't repurchase. I-Iman lipsticks #10, #1 and #14, respectively, are almost identical without the lip chapping.

Masks -Queen Helene - Egg Yolk Masque

It's too difficult to get it out of the tube. It didn't do anything spectacular for my oily, blemish prone skin either. Thumbs down!

Foundations -Black Opal - True Color Liquid Foundation
Hautest 11/22/2003 4:10:00 PM
For the past few months I have been looking for an inexpensive alternative to Chanel's Multi-Vitamin liquid makeup. I have finally found it! I have this in "beautiful bronze". The coverage is light to medium. It's not too yellow or too red, but just right. The downside of the product is the bottles are surrounded in plastic, so it's hard to determine which color to buy. However, if you buy the wrong color you can just return it. Not bad at all for $8. Edited to add: Under different lighting I was able to see that this product is in fact orange-looking on me. Oh well. I guess I will have to suck it up and spend $40 on my holy grail Chanel Multi-Vitamin Makeup in Almond #7.

Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - face lotion
Hautest 10/13/2003 2:21:00 PM
I use this product on my bikini area to keep ingrown hairs at bay after waxing. It works great and cost ony $4 at Dollar General! Since it's not oil-free I'm afraid to use it on my oily face. I will try the enhanced cream or the gel formula for my face.
