Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage
Harriet1991 10/18/2011 6:08:00 AM
Luckily I only had a sample of this so I didn't have to return it. The sensation of the roller ball was pleasant, but the product itself stung. Also it didn't moisturise at all, the skin around my eyes felt tight and it left a sticky film. What is the point of it? I'll never know.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Harriet1991 7/11/2011 3:54:00 AM
Good natural toner. I don't like putting toners on my skin normally as they contain far too many chemicals, and often parabens. This is perfect for removing the last traces of make up after cleansing but I agree with other reviewers that it may be drying on some skin types as it has quite a high alcohol content.

Skincare - Face -Ella Bache - Creme Intex 2
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 9:41:00 PM
Didn't notice much of a difference with this. I didn't find the smell as unbearable as others did but I found that it made no real difference to any pimples I had. It does last a long time though, mine is still in the original pot packaging. I have tried the new version in the tube, but I found that it became separated very quickly and oil leaked out everywhere when I opened the top.

Mineral + Lanolin + Parabens = Rubbish. Overpriced rubbish.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks - Calypso Coral
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 4:15:00 AM
I'm pretty surprised by all the positive reviews as I was very very disappointed with this product. I bought it on a whim after a sales assistant tried it on me and I think its been a waste of money. I find it EXTREMELY difficult to blend with a brush, fingers or sponge and it always looks patchy over make up or on its own. I think the colour looks clownish on me, although I understand it would work better on an olive complexion. All in all, this was an expensive mistake and I'm now reluctant to try other Bobbi Brown make up. EDIT: I find the packaging unhygienic too- mine has little bits of dirt on the surface.

Blush -Clinique - Blushwear Cream Stick
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 4:10:00 AM
I reluctantly repurchased this after I had a sample of it that was running out. Its easy to blend, the colour Shy looks very natural on me and it gives a nice glow. Its very expensive and you don't get a lot of product but it is a nice blush.

Cleansers -Olay - Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 3:38:00 AM
In general, I don't believe in using foaming washes on any skin type as they are simply too aggravating. Although this didn't strip as much as others I have tried, it contains a variety of sulfates which are known skin irritants. I cannot get my head around how companies can market products with these ingredients as "sensitive". Having said that, this cleanser was better than I thought, it wasn't too harsh but I will definitely be sticking to more (truly) gentle products such as Moogoo.

Skincare - Face -Ella Bache - Savon Creme
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 3:30:00 AM
I always find that Ella Bache products leave a sticky film on my face and I have always attributed this to the lanolin in them (even the cleansers) but this particular one doesn't have lanolin so I am not sure why that is. I find the granules quite harsh and I also dislike the fact that it has parabens in it. For that kind of price I expect something better.

Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Hand Cream
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 1:25:00 AM
Works really, really well. Its very thick though so I only use it at night but this is a truly good hand cream. Reasonably priced too. EDIT: I have been researching a lot about parabens recently and I am disappointed to see that Neutrogena contains a lot of them. Hopefully this will change, until then I am using Moogoo. I am also avoiding sulfates and this unfortunately has sodium sulfate in it too.

Scrubs -Clinique - 7 Day Scrub Cream
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 1:23:00 AM
I rarely use physical exfoliants as I don't think it is good to aggravate the skin by rubbing it with something harsh. Having said that, I have had this product for a long long time in my cupboard and I just use it when my skin feels a bit dull or congested. I agree with other reviewers though that it feels harsh when you apply it, but I am just careful not to rub too much. It does leave a very very slight film on my face but I usually use witch hazel toner to remove that. I'm also unsure what the "7 day" part means- use it every day of the week? Once every 7 days? Never on the 7th day of the month? 7? Who knows. I would never use this every day though as I think it would be far too aggravating. Overall, I will continue to use it, but I think there are cheaper equivalents out there.

Toners -Shiseido - Shiseido Pureness Skin Purifying Water
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 1:11:00 AM
On my bottle it says "Pureness Balancing Softener", but I believe this is the same product. First thing, this smells AMAZING like something out of my WILDEST DREAMS, but sadly I don't think that cuts it when it comes to skincare. All in all, this was a typical toner for me- pleasant to use, smelled nice but did nothing to improve my skin. It is gentle, but I truly feel that toners are all pretty useless.

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Moisture Lotion #2
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 12:54:00 AM
A long list of inscrutable chemical ingredients with no real positive effect on my skin. Felt pleasant enough but I noticed no real difference to my skin when using this in conjunction with the Extra Mild cleanser. I opted for the "moisture lotion" range as I heard that the ones containing salicylic acid and alcohol (and acetone and formaldehyde apparently, who would have thought?) really stung and stripped the skin. I generally find toners to be pretty useless and this one was no exception. Gentle, but unnecessary.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 12:48:00 AM
Pros: Gentle, did not seem to congest my skin, provided some moisture, non greasy. Cons: Really really overpriced. This is a gentle moisturiser. There are plenty available at a fraction of the cost, and I really did not notice any kind of miraculous "moisture surge" (even using it over moisturiser as Clinique suggests, as a way of forcing you to buy their 3 step). That being said, I like the fact that it is fragrance and oil-free and felt soothing on my sensitive skin. If this were cheaper I would repurchase but at 75 (Australian) dollars for 50ml, this gel should be doing a little more.

Toners -Gatineau - Gentle Cleansing Lotion serenite
Harriet1991 7/7/2011 12:19:00 AM
Its just bizarre that this is marketed as a product for "fragile, delicate skin". This stung my skin (I don't normally have strong reactions to products) in conjunction with the Serenite make up remover and the scent was overpowering and unpleasant. Luckily I only have a sample size of this, but I certainly won't repurchase.
