As someone who has light skin with beige undertones I really enjoy using this bronzer. If applied lightly it can give you a nice matte glow that allows me to look gently sun kissed without needing to actually go out into the sun. It smells amazing and since it is a light toned bronzer its easy to apply without going overboard. I recommend this to those who may be light with warmer skin tones since it has a warm undertone that may not be flattering on cooler tones however like with all makeup your mileage may vary.
Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
Harley09 8/30/2012 2:36:00 PM
I was very surprised by the quality of this mascara. While I like department store makeup I do tend to stick to drugstore mascaras. With the rave reviews Jordana Best Lash Extreme was receiving I decided to give it a try especially since a tube is under $4. I am a convert, this mascara does a great job coating my lashes without clumping and gives them the necessary volume they need. My lashes are already long but have a tendency to droop, this mascara gives them oompf without the need for an eyelash curler. Are there better mascaras out there? I'm sure there are since I haven't tried them all but if you're looking for a budget friendly volumizing mascara I would definitely recommend this.
This is a very pretty subtly bronzer with equally subtle shimmer. I find this bronzer to be fool proof since it does look very light, unless you use a heavy hand. It gives the face a nice glow, perfect for every day use.
I purchased this after reading reviews, I wanted sheer to medium coverage, something to even out my skintone yet still look natural and preferably unscented. I had previously been using Revlon Colorstay which I did not like, the coverage was mask-like and the smell was distracting. I found what I was looking for with this foundation. This foundation is sheer but buildable however not buildable past medium coverage. It does need to be shaken up to get it ready for use and after I use my fingers to apply it then follow up with a stippling brush to ensure it is buffed in evenly onto my skin. I use N2 which is a great match for my skintone, I also dust Mac's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium to reduce shine in my t-zone. What really sold me on this product is when the lovely MA applied it to my face my friend went "wow" and commented how much it improved my complexion since I have red cheeks and some uneven patches along my jawline under my cheeks. For concealing acne scars or blemishes I would recommend going over with a concealer which is what I plan on doing. Also in regards to making it last, my house is still cold this time of year so I keep it in my bathroom but once it begins to warm up I probably will store it in the fridge just to be on the safe side. I purchased this for $32.50 which is pretty good for 4oz of product.
Lip Treatments -LUSH - It Started with a Kiss Lip Tint

I really like this lip tint. I'm not a fan of the pen type lip tints however this one being a solid makes it easier to apply. I use my finger and pad it onto my lips, since the color is buildable, I then apply some lip balm over it because this is not moisturizing. It's very pretty and gives my lips a flushed red look perfect for days when I want to keep my makeup simple yet polished.
This was love at first scrub. I went to Lush on a whim since I had never been inside before and tried this out since I have dry lips and my pricey Tarte lip scrub stick was not cutting it. This product is amazing and amazingly affordable considering it tastes great and gives you smooth lips. I love this flavor, it tastes like a mint peppermint patty. I look forward to trying out Lush's other flavors of lip scrubs.
This is a great mascara for giving lashes great volume without clumps. I love the brush since it really takes hold of my lashes and coats them evenly. This is one of the best drugstore mascaras I've tried, perfect for day and evening use.
I love Benefit's packaging, such a shame though that it isn't practical. The day I bought Hoola home it already looked like the box was wearing thin on the corners. However this does not have an impact on the bronzer itself. I love this bronzer, I was in the market for a matte bronzer with no shimmer whatsoever so I can use for contouring as well as for giving my face a little flush of tan since I have fair skin. When applied with a light hand this gives me such a nice glow, especially when paired with Coralista or Mac Springsheen. I've seen complaints that the product looks small, it does indeed but in terms of weight there is more product packed in there than in the average mac blush. I'd definitely buy this again.
I had switched to this last year from their original formula because matte was new and sounded interesting to try. After using it for almost a year I can honestly say I am not impressed, it's not full coverage, maybe medium at best which isn't a problem but it still doesn't feel like it's doing anything aside from making my face look powdery. I liked the original formula but when I tried it on again recently I noticed how shimmery it was, I'm going back to liquid foundation not only for coverage but also so I can have a coordinating compact for touch ups.
Moisturizers -Ole Henriksen - Herbal Day Cream SPF 15

I love this stuff. Yes, it makes me look greasy after putting it on and on bad days the smell can be a little overwhelming. However, it is amazing to wear under makeup, it is the only moisturizer that does away with my flaky skin on my cheeks. It even makes my skin look great when wearing powder makeup. I wouldn't wear this unless I had makeup on though. It is pricey but lasts about a year so it evens out. Perfect for day and at night I use Clinique Dramatically Different.
Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
Harley09 3/12/2011 6:28:00 AM
I purchased this moisturizer last year because I had used it a five years before when I was a teen and I liked it then. However now I find that it is not that moisturizing for me, my cheeks and forehead are still flaky and dry making it difficult to wear makeup without looking strange. I thought that perhaps I needed to start exfoliating my skin, which I did, but that still hasn't helped. My bottle is almost done and I don't plan on purchasing again. Someone recommended CeraVu so I'm going to give that a try.
Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lips Lip Gloss in Amber
Harley09 3/4/2011 5:00:00 PM
I used my BE rewards card and a coupon that this gloss was essentially free with my purchase. It is pretty, however on its own it is not very pigmented, but a good choice if you are going for a natural look. When I want this a bit more pigmented I layer it over BE lipcolor in French Pastry. I can't attest to its plumping power since my lips are already plump. I don't think I'd be buying this again since I already own Mac Lustreglass in Love Nectar and I prefer that since it isn't a plumping gloss.
I love this blush. I had been wanting a neutral blush for ages, I was actually going to try out Nars Orgasm due to the raves but went to Mac instead. I told the SA that I wanted to look luminous so she tried this out on me, saying it was a great neutral that I wouldn't have to think about when wearing. I love it, it gives my skin a light glow, for reference I am a NC20/15. I don't know how I had gotten along for so long without an illuminating shade like this in my collection but I'm glad it is there now.
Eyeliner -Sonia Kashuk - Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Liner
Harley09 2/25/2011 1:45:00 AM
I have never been able to use a liquid liner until this product. Since I wear glasses, putting eyeliner is hard enough when I can't see properly in the mirror so standard liquid liners would come out messy on my eye line. However I picked a pot of this up in ebony at Target since it was only 8.99 and a slanted eyeliner brush from their Studio Tools line to try it out one more time. I'm so glad I did because I was able to create perfectly lined eyes on my first try. I have no need to try out other brands, as long as SK makes gel eyeliner I will keep buying.
It seems that for nude lipsticks Creme d'nude is a favorite, however I felt that on my NC20 skin it made me look like I was wearing concealer. The SA understood I didn't want to look like a corpse so she had me try on a few different nude colors and I settled on Shy Girl for its neutral coral beige color and when paired with Love Nectar Lustreglass it is a very pretty everyday look. If you're looking for a nude shade my best advice is to try on as many as you can to find the perfect one. I am giving this a 4 however because I think I would like to own a pink-toned nude as well.
