I went into MAC to pick up some items that are being discontinued. I used to wear Margin blush a few years back and thought I would give it a try again. I dislike Margin's frost though so I asked the lady if there was a similar, matte color. She suggested Buff. WOW. It's awesome. It is a light peachy brown with slight gray undertones. It looks so natural and beautiful, like a real flush with no frost. It can be worn with various colors of lipgloss. This is my new favorite. I am NC 25-35...definitely yellow undertones.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous False Fiber Lashes

After spending more $ and having tubes of mascara dry out I decided to buy this buy one get one half off. I really LIKE it. It is very thick, but it makes my lashes very long and thick. /I really appreciate that there is no flaking. I have experienced flaking with MAC, CG and Maybelline. Not with this. There is also no smudging. I really like their gel lacquer eyeliner with this.

Lipstick -MAC - Retro Matte - Ruby Woo

Ruby Woo's reputation is well-earned. I am an NC 25 or so with yellow undertones and dark hair. This red is excellent. It does not look too orange or too pink. It looks RED like it is supposed to. It is very bright but it is matte so there is no glisten and no sparkle. It can be drying as noted, but exfoliate lips first, apply vaseline, wipe off, then apply RW. This is a classic color and looks professional with a suit and minimal eye makeup or sexy with a dress. I see why this is a popular staple. I give it a 4 because it is matte and so dry. Fashion Fair's Sangria has Ruby Woo beat for texture, smell, and most of all gorgeous color that stays.

Hair Removal -Gigi - All Purpose Honee non-microwave wax

Yes it's sticky and one must be careful not to spill it because it will make a mess. I guess that is not as obvious as I would have imagined. Anyway, the GIGI home warmer makes it so easy and the wax warms up to the perfect temperature. It gets thinner the hotter it gets and it spreads on the eyebrows easily if you use a sure hand and the little applicators that look like small popscicle sticks. Then I just take the muslin strip. Stick it to the wax and remove. I love it. The wax begins to get thick after 4 months, but it is not expensive at about $9 - $11 a container. I have only used on my face.

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover

Love this. It is effective and smells like flowers...in a good, unobtrusive way. Most importantly it removes with no irritation to my eyes and no oily residue. I don't think it works any better or worse than Mary Kay but it is slightly lighter. I purchased on E-bay but probably not pay full retail. IF that were my only option I would stick to Mary Kay. This is a nice product.

Eye Makeup Remover -Mary Kay - Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover

I had been using Maybelline remover in the plastic bottle; both waterproof and regular. The oiliness of the pink one really got in my eyes and bothered me and the blue bottle was too watery.I love the MK remover. It is bi-phasic so you must shake it up. Barely soak a cotton pad and place on your eye and voila! The makeup is gone. While it feels like there is a bit of oil it is not oily and does not get in my eyes or irritate. Ithas no fragrance.$10 for a jar, which I think is good. It take waterproof mascara off with no prob.

Lipstick -MAC - Lickable

This is so bright ..and so garish on me. I don't know if it's because I have been wearing neutrals and browns so long or what. I love Fashion Fair Tropic Pink. I like reds but every time I put this on, I end up wiping it off because it looks radioactive. IT just glows and smacks me in the face. Also I have yellow undertones so it's probably too blue toned. For GGG's with yellow undertones I suggest Fashin Fair Tropic Pink, Royal Orchid, or Chocolate Raspberry as better options.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner in Blackest Black

This DESTROYS MAC Fluidline in blacktrack. I have been searching for an eyeliner that does not irritate or RUN. MAC disappointed me this summer because putting blacktrack in my water line did not feel so great and it had dried a bit in the jar. I read the reviews for this. I went to the drugstore and got one full price and one half price. It includes its own little brush which is fantastic. It works just as well as my MAC eyeliner brush. The gel is smooth,creamy, no odor and no irritation. AND it is SUPER BLACK. In my water line it lasts all day and is still on when I wake up. It comes right off with Bi-Facil or Mary Kay remover. I will never go back to MAC fluidline.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Mega Shine Lip Gloss 112 Frosted Beige

This was only about $5 but it is a really great lip gloss. It is streaky at first but putting it on with a lip brush or going over and over with the doe foot applicator does the trick. It is a nice beige color. I am light brown and this takes all pink and brown from my lips and neutralizes my face so I can wear ANY color eyeshadow. It is thick and smeels like fruit candy. I keep one in my makeup bag for moisture and a touch up.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Dazzleglass in Spanking Rich

This is reddish/pink with glitter. It is a lovely color but too bright and garish for my taste. it is very sparkly. However....it looks fabulous on top of brown lipstick like O, or Photo. It adds a little visual interest and depth and takes the darkness out of flatter, darker lipsticks. I also like it over pink lipstick like Angel which is too chalky alone. I also think it would add excitement to an orange or burnt orange lippie. It's good for fairer toned ladies but no so much for warm tones.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Dazzleglass Creme in Sublime Shine

Gorgeous. I am NC 25-35, light brown and this appears to be slightly orange/golden/peach with gold flecks and shimmer but not gritty glitter. I put this over my nude lipsticks and over MAC Stripdown lip pencil and it makes my face light up and glisten. I thought it would be like Enchantress but it is warmer than Enchantress and less pink. I purchased two of these at CCO because I don't want to run out.

Lipstick -Fashion Fair - Grapescicle

This purple is gorgeous. It is not lavendar and does not have that bluish cast which can cause corpse lips; rather it is creamy and leans yellow with a warmer purple color. I wore it a great deal when I was younger but now I smooth it out with a gold gloss over the top like NARS Moon Fleet. Fashion Fair lipsticks smell better than any lipstick I have ever worn. They smell like grapes or blueberries and the pigment stays on for at least five hours with no retouch.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder (Pressed)

I hate selling MAC's products for them but this product is SOOO awesome. I have the loose powder which is great but of course more messy. Anyway, as a loyal multiple re-purchaser of Blot powder I didn't think anything could be better. But this powder truly minimizes my pores which can be noticeable on my nose. I don't like any shine there and this powder just takes all the shine away and seems to airbrush the pores. It does not leave a white cast nor does it look chalky, which my husband noticed and commented on with the blot powder. I wear NC 25-35 depending on the weather and this powder blends right in and is undetectable. EDIT 11/3/12- This does leave a bit of a white cast and is not as versatile as medium dark blot powder. This is good for a super oily nose but not all over the face with a heavy hand. NOTHING is going to keep the shine away all day. It's just not possible. This does a great job for 3-4 hours. Touch ups are required. I paid $24 at MAC but was surprised to find no puff inside the mirrored compact. I have been applying with a kabuki brush and the results are great.

Fragrances -Lolita Lempicka - Midnight Couture Black Eau de Minuit

This does not smell exactly like Lolita Lempicka. Minuit is heavier on the vanilla but I still smell the licorice, just not as much. I also smell Cola...like Coca Cola. It's warmer and heavier than Lolita which smells airy and powdery mixed with licorice, cherry, almond and herbal. I don't feel as"uplifted"when I spray Minuit as much as the original Lolita. I prefer the mystery of Lolita because it's so unusual. After all the time I have worn Lolita I still cannot put my finger on exactly what I smell. Minuit lasts a full day, but it is not as mysterious as Lolita. It is a very classy scent and better suited for night time than Lolita which I feel comfortable wearing any time. The bottle is cute. The leaves are made of plastic or maybe leather. If you like a more herbal smell try Forbidden Flower or Lolita for a fragance that is unusual and slightly unidentifiable.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Fresh Brew

Big disappointment. This is "my lips but worse." I will return this today. As another reviewer said, it is a gray-brown color. When I put it on I thought " wow, it's the same color as my lips." Then I realized it is covering my lips and taking out any pink but not in a good way. It looks grayish. It leaves my brown NC-25-35 complexion looking dull and dead. It adds absolutely nothing and actually detracts from my appearance. It's weird. Perhaps it looks good on someone darker but for NC 35 ladies, steer clear. For a nude lip I prefer Mac Siss with Spring Bean lipglass on top or Mac Half and Half with Boy Bait on top. These look nude but not dead.
