Eye Shadow -Milani - runway eyes eye palettes

If you want to use this product as an eyeshadow, USE PRIMER. Without it, the pigmentation is iffy and you'll have fallout everywhere. Like many people have said, these are delicate so handle the box gently. I don't have any problem with picking up colours, but then again, I don't use these as eyeshadows that often. Personally I use these as eyeliners They work very well for me like that--colourful enough to draw attention to my eyes but easy to remove, and they don't smear or smudge on me either. Overall, I'd give it a3.5/5. It's decent, but could use some work.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

Quite honestly, this did nothing for me. I got it on recommendation of my dermatologist for my dry skin, and I was sorely disappointed. The non-foaming texture is somewhat unsettling, because you rub it in and then it takes forever to get off. I have to douse my entire face with water and scrub with a towel to get it off, and when it's over and done with--my skin is dry, tight, and still wearing makeup. I didn't think this cleaned anything. I thought it was just a gross feeling gel that stayed on and left a slimy feeling on my skin. Ew.

Lip Gloss -Black Opal - Patent Lips Liquid Lipstick -- Copper Tone
rated 4 of 5

It's got a sanitary seal, which is nice. I know that it's been unopened! It's a beautiful colour, really. For me it's dark when I put it on, but then I spread it around and it becomes more sheer and wearable. I definitely get tint out of this, but it's not a heavy dark brown (which is good, because I have light lips) and a little goes a long way. The packaging could be better, but I like the doefoot applicator. I also liked that it was light and wearable, as opposed to heavy and sticky etc. This has no smell and it doesn't feel gross on my lips. Definite thumbs up!

Mascara -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Plump Mascara
rated 3 of 5

I don't really see why this product has so many bad reviews. This *is* a drugstore product and you have to account for that. I had no problems. It went on well, it stayed on for twelve hours + without any flaking or anything! It definitely wasn't 'super volumizing' or 'mega plumping' as it was advertised, but I got some curl and definition out of it. Definitely more than my natural lashes, so I was happy. It's cheap, it works, it doesn't flake. Not the best WnW product out there, but not a complete miss. Just don't buy it for the volumizing effect. It won't work.

I bought this lipgloss in Strawberry, and I love it! The colour shows up beautifully on my lips, and stays there. I have shine and sparkle and it tastes good and smells great!

Lip Gloss -Milani - Crystal Gloss Summer Baby
rated 3 of 5
HGemma 8/8/2011 5:13:00 PM

Here's my problem with it: It smells. I have no complaints about the colour or texture (even though it is a heavy gloss) but oh wow, I put this on for the first time, and HOLY BEJEEZUS I nearly fainted. Even now, five *hours* after I took it off, I have a headache. It's a very, VERY strong vanilla scent, with hints of plastic and decay mixed in for good measure. Right under my nose, on my lips? No thank you. I think it's a pity, especially since I love the way it looks on me, but if I die every time I put it on? Yeah, this one's going straight to the trash, unless one of my friends wants it. The packaging, I also didn't mind. I thought it was very cute, small and easy to hold or slip into a pocket. It's actually why I bought this. Oh well.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
rated 4 of 5

To me, this product feels very bumpy, a bit rough, but not overly so. I wasn't very impressed when I was putting it on for the first time, but when I took it off, my skin felt so luxurious it was amazing! I couldn't stop touching my face for the rest of the day! It was soft and silky, and my skin felt great! I use this every other day, and my acne has gone away completely! My skin has never been better! Definitely a rebuy, and not just the travel sized one!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - The Gilded Age [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
HGemma 6/20/2011 2:11:00 PM

Oh wow, this trio was gorgeous! My favorite colour was the lid one, a really rich bronzy brown which accented my skin perfectly and was just really lovely. The crease shade, which is usually difficult for me to work with because it doesn't work with the other selected colours, blended right into the lid colour and made for a perfect smoky eye! The browbone/highlight colour gave me the most trouble. I thought it highlighted a bit too much, and was just a tad too icy for this trio. I would recommend using either the little brushes that come with it, a pack of felt tipped makeup applicators to put these on or your finger. A regular eyeshadow brush just doesn't pick up enough of these shadows to put it on eficiently. If you do manage to get some on, it goes on loosely and creates a lot of fallout, like dddoxie found out. All in all: A gorgeous trio, well pigmented and cheap, easy to apply? Definitely repurchasing when I make my next trip to the store!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Nailgrowth Miracle Nail Polish
rated 5 of 5
HGemma 5/21/2011 1:53:00 PM

The packaging is cute and practical, it's curved and in sort of an oval shape that feels nice in my hand. The brush is really wide but still curved, and soaks up a lot of product, so you can practically do an entire hand before needing to redip the brush! This also dries really quickly--in less than two minutes! The polish is a bit tacky, but it goes on very smoothly. Gives my nails a lot of gloss, and even though it doesn't really 'grow' my nails, rather keeping them hard and letting them grow out naturally. . . I'd still repurchase! Large amount, gorgeous colours, dries very quickly and protects your nails! Get it!

Liquid -Rimmel - LASTING Finish foundation
rated 2 of 5
HGemma 5/21/2011 11:32:00 AM

This is a review for the 25hr foundation in 300 Sand, which is actually too light for me. I needed a foundation, and a bunch of people recommended either RImmel or Revlon. Slightly intimidated by the Revlon packaging, I took the Rimmel alternative, and decided that for 30 mL, the price wasn't too bad. Pros: I find that this melts into my skin after a few seconds of applying, and it blends very easily. It does provide coverage and evens out my skin, as well as being convenient. Good for a primer. Cons: It definitely smells like makeup. The bottle that I have is the black one, that's designed to go upside down. I have to say that that is the stupidest design that I've ever heard of, especially since the screw cap to this seems broken! I can't get it to screw shut properly, it just pops and continues to go around. Other: It does smudge a bit, and if you rub your skin you can tell that you're wearing it. It's also very easy to go everywhere, because it comes out of the tube quickly if you squeeze suddenly, hard, or pretty much do anything with it with the cap off. Thoughts: Not bad. Did what I wanted it to, but with the hassle of it, not worth rebuying. Maybe next time I'll get the Revlon! I'm currently using it as a concealer, set with powder, and as a eyeshadow primer. Just a tiny bit on my lid really helps bring out sheer colours and keep them on! But for me, that's pretty much all it's good for.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Born Lippy Lip Balm
rated 3 of 5
HGemma 5/20/2011 11:22:00 PM

A bit expensive, yes, but I'd buy it again even if just for the scent! As with most other people here, I find that it doesn't moisturize the way that I need, but it does have a lovely shimmer/lip tint to it that makes it more like a gloss. It goes on very smoothly, and you don't feel it when it's on. It's very weightless. I didn't have problems with the packaging-I think it's cute and durable, when I run out (very close!) I'll probably use it for something else. Overall: Good! Might not be worth it to some people, about $8 for a jar, but I'd repurchase! Use it over another balm like Burts Bees

Eyeliner -Milani - Infinite Liquid Eye Liner
rated 4 of 5
HGemma 5/12/2011 5:06:00 PM

Wow! I got this on the way home from work, and tried it as soon as I got there! I've experimented with a few different liquid liners: Prestige, which is by far my favorite, Milani Eye Tech (which was a dissappointment that I still used because it was handy) and Wet'N'Wild's Mega Eyes Defining marker. All of them were good, but they had nowhere NEAR the staying power of this liner! This thing, once it's on, it's ON. Not going anywhere. Not budging. At all. It's waterproof, so if you're in a hurry, go for something more forgiving than this. The product (mine's in Everlast) *is* a little gloopy, you *do* have to wipe it off a bit on the rim, but it doesn't effect the drying time at all! It dried on me in about 20 seconds. The brush isn't felt tip, it's a regular brush, which makes it hard to create thin lines. However, it more than makes up for it in staying power and pigmentation. It goes on dark, and stays on dark. Will not budge. The price was decent for 5mL, I'd say, especially with a product this good. 7-9 dollars at CVS. And the packaging was much like Milani's Eye Tech liner, but larger and less flashy. It's comfortable to just drop in your purse, without worrying about the screw cap coming off! Final thoughts: Get this. You'll get used to the thickness of the product, and it's worth it for the payoff, for so little!

Eyeliner -Styli-Style - Liquid Eyeliner 24 in Blackest Black
rated 2 of 5
HGemma 3/31/2011 9:55:00 PM

So, the packaging was alright. The color, when on my hand, was pigmented well, which was why I bought it. It wasn't too expensive. I'm never buying this again. I thought that maybe I would get a different brand for pen liquid liners, which I use often, but the tip of the felt applicator just didn't work! I had to press down a bit to get it on. When I was trying to make a decent line, the tip really dragged on my eyelid, which really isn't very sensitive, but this made my eyes hurt! It didn't show up very well on my skin, and faded before an hour had gone by--*without* strenuous activity. Definiately not rebuying this. Reccomend Wet'N'Wild's Mega Eyes Defining Marker instead. It's pretty much the same product but with a darker line (on me) and more lasting power (for me) as well.

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Exaggerate Auto Waterproof Eye Definer (all)
rated 1 of 5
HGemma 3/19/2011 3:48:00 PM

Oh wow. I got this one at my local CVS, because I though that I could possibly interchange it with my L'oreal Carbon Black Infallible, which I really liked, and because I had Rimmel's Special Eyes eye liner (the pencil kind, not the mechanical) and I liked that one as well. FAILURE. First off, the product was just too waxy at the beginning, I had to snap off the tip to get product that wasn't all dried out. Then it was too creamy, NOT waterproof at all, and it smudged so easily! The smudger on this style of pencil has never really worked for me, and while the sharpener is cute, and it works, it's not the best and a lot of the product is wasted. I was very disappointed at the staying power as well, the entire thing just migrated after barely an hour of wearing it. It is a pure black though, so that's one up, as well as being super cheap. At least I didn't waste more than five dollars on this thing.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Liquid Eyeliner Black
rated 4 of 5
HGemma 3/19/2011 3:17:00 PM

I LOVE this eyeliner! I find that the consistency and staying power is very good for me (Asian here), and that it doesn't flake off, it just fades without any fuss. Very clean. The packaging is deceptive! The tiny bottle actually holds a lot in it, and you don't really need a lot of this. It's very very black, no grey overtones. Only downsides would be that the brush tends to string after a while, but that's pretty manageable, and that while it dries pretty quickly, I do experience a very very slight burning sensation for about thirty seconds after I put it on. Also not friendly if it gets in your eyes.
