Misc Beauty Tools -Japonesque - Parian Spirit Professional Brush Cleaner
rated 5 of 5

I see that there are a lot of negative reviews on this brush cleaner, but in my experience using it (about 2 months), I have to say that I LOVE this cleaner! I personally don't mind the smell, which is a strong orange fragrance, although I fully understand why someone wouldn't be a fan of the scent. As for the effectiveness of the product, I can literally watch the eyeshadow buildup dissolve as the Parian Spirit is being sprayed onto the bristles. I like to spray the product directly on the bristles and give it a quick swirl on a paper towel and repeat if necessary, although I usually find that one spray and wipe is sufficient after a day's use of brushes. I also enjoy the fact that the product comes in a spray bottle. The actual spray nozzle itself also adds to the quality of this product as it is relatively easy to control how much or how little you want to spray at a time, whether it's a quick spritz or a nice dampening of bristles, the spray nozzle lets you control the amount that comes out in a consistent, even spray. The product itself is also very quick to dry, especially if you spray it directly onto a paper towel and clean your brush in that fashion. I did love the MAC brush cleanser, as still do. However, I feel like the Mac cleaner takes just a little longer to dry, and I just dont think that the product is nearly as concentrated as the Parian spirit. I highly recommend this product, and will DEFINITELY be repurchasing it when I run out!

Highlighters -NARS - Highlighting Blush Powder in Albatross
rated 5 of 5
Gwonggg 12/14/2010 1:10:00 PM

I'm an associate at sephora, male, nc40-42 Asian skin tone, and I LOVE this hilighter! A lot if the Nara blushes have the same golem sheen found in orgasm, torrid, etc, but albatross is just that golden sheen without the color! Very soft in the pan, you only need one swipe of your brush to do both cheekbones. I use my Mac 109 brush to really buff the powder into the skin and it just gives the most beautiful glow to the cheeks. Great for putting over a matte blush, hilighting browbones, or even wearing it on the cheeks alone, BEAUTIFUL

Bronzers -MAC - Sun Rush
rated 3 of 5

I'm really not sure how I feel about this product. I don't think that this product is worth $19, as you can easily duplicate some of this products uses. A major pro is the versatility of this product. You can darken your liquid foundation by mixing a few drops of this into your foundation, and it also adds a really subtle allover glowto the skin which is wonderful. You can use this as a base for eyeshadows, or wear it by itself on the lid for a super subtle sheen. For a really subtle and natural bronze glow to the face, tap a bit of this on the cheekbones. If you haven't noticed, this product is all about SUBTLE. this stuff isn't nearly as pigmeted as i'd like this to be. If you put this over foundation before you set it with powder, setting it will just cancel out the glow from this product making applying this product basically useless. You would be better off using an MSF or Physicians formula shimmer strips to add glow. When I originally saw the lustre drops in the To the Beach collection, I was instantly reminded of Benefits High Beam. Unfortunately neither sun rush nor the pink one were compareable in pigmentation. Overall, if you are someone that goes for the super natural look, this product would be great for you. But if you like more pigmentation, skip on this.

I had the waterproof version first, but after I thought I lost them, I went and got the regular version. I LOVE the waterproof version, but HATE the regular. It's SOOOO clumpy! I tried it twice and threw it away. No matter what I do, I always get clumps and literally chunks of mascara on my lashes! Hate it!!!

I love this mascara!!! It's wonderfully lengthening and separating! This review is strictly for the waterproof version, however. I don't get any clumps or chunks of mascara ion application, unlike the regular version. The button to activate the vibration is a LITTLE awkward, as it's at the end of the handle, but it's nothing you can't get used to. Trick is with this mascara is thatyou HAVE to move slowly or the vibrations won't do anything for your lashes. Idk what it is, but going slow just works! Definitely would repurchase!

Mascara -MAC - Studio Fix Lash

Overall, I really really like this mascara! It's not TERIBBLY leangyhenibg or volumizing, but it's right there in the middle. It's everything that you expect from a mascara , but nothing more. The brush really makes a huge difference in separating lashes, and I NEVER get clumps! You have a really nice amount if control when it cones to using the brush, and you really have to load it on before you reach the spidery lash look. I feel like this is what Lash blast Length SHOULD have been. Definitely recommed and will definitely repurchase!

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Home Made Brush Cleaner / Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
Gwonggg 5/7/2010 3:12:00 AM

IN LOOOOOOVE!!!! I've been using my first batch for months now, and it's beat out all my other brush cleansers. Super easy to make, and you can easily find all the ingredients in your home, and if you don't have them already, you won't spend mOre than $10, which is probably what you would spend on any other brush cleaner anyway. This stuff really keeps my brushes cleaned between deep cleans, and dependingbon your ingredients, the smell is very inoffensive! Cheap, effective, easy to make. What more could you ask for?!

Easily worst dollar ever spent. The size is tiny and can't cover anything. The bristles are ridiculously stiff and hard and it HURTS to use! The brush just stabs at you! HATE this brush!

One of my favorite brushes! Not only is it cheap, but it's really well made! It's NEVER shed or bled on me, unlike some of my MAC and Sigma brushes. This brush is FANTASTIC for putting on face powder of any sort. Personally, I hate just swiping on powder, as I feel like it's just sitting there, but with this brush, I can easily go from applying the powder to flawlessly blending it in! That being said, it's better than any kabuki brush I've ever had, and it can even be used for liquid foundation! Regardless of the powder, whether it be a setting, blot or powder foundation, this brush is PERFECT!

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Synthetic Flat Top Multipurpose Brush

If I could give this a 3 1/2, I totally would. It's not a great brush, but it's definitely not bad! Soft bristles, ergonomic design. But what I don't like is it's application of powder products. Advertised as a blush brush, I find it hard to use to blend out powders. The bristles are so densely packed that the brush doesn't move across your face when you blend. You end up making small circles in one place of your face at a time. However, it's not as bad at liquid foundation. Yes, I still run into the buffing problm, but for whatever reason, that doesn't affect foundaikn application?

Blush -Sonia Kashuk - Beautifying Blush in Flamingo

Gwonggg 3/28/2010 6:03:00 PM

I have this in the new round packaging, the new package is really nice because it's very minimalistic, therefore saving tons of space. Anyways, the product itself is really nice! It's not overly pigmented, and not sheer so it's a wonderful product to work with, buildable and easy to blend too. Overall a really nice product!

Awesome brush for putting on an all over color! I don't have the mac 227, but I expect it to be quite similar. You can even use the tip of this brush to throw on a hilight color. Not bad at all for the price! Only con is that it smells!!!

Yes, it's very soft, and yes it's reasonably well made, but when it comes to using the brush, ehhhhh. The bristles are simply too long for powder application, IMO. They just kind of flop around and splay out when you use it on your face. And it's impossible to buff anything it with this brush. Sorry for the negative review, but I'm just not feelig this brush

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer - Springsheen
rated 4 of 5
Gwonggg 3/20/2010 11:55:00 PM

I got this the other day when I got my makeup done for the Liberty of London party at my MAC counter. I had been interested in getting one of the MSFs to hilight, but upon swatching, I found them to be too shimmery to be worn day to day, especially being a guy in high school. When the MA asked what blush colors I liked, I immediately responded with Ripe Peach blush ombré from the spring forcast collection (for the record, I'm Asian NC40. peach colors work ridiculously well on me). She smiled and grabbed springsheen and style blushes and put on springsheen under style. I LOVED how it turned out, a wonderful peach with a GORGEOUS golden glow. I couldn't stop commenting on how much I loved the gold shimmer which the MA told me was springsheen. At home, I applied springsheen first, which by itself has a very sheer peach color (duh, it's a sheertone) and layered Ripe Peach right on top. Absolutely gorgeous. springsheen added just the perfect amour of hilight that I was looking for from the msfs, while complimenting the peachiness of Ripe Peach. I took one lippie off for not being more pigmented, but I would still definitely repurchase.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 109 Small Contour Brush
rated 5 of 5
Gwonggg 3/3/2010 12:21:00 AM

If you were to buy one brush for your face, this would be the one. You can use it for liquid foundation, blush, contour, hilight, bronzer, ANYTHING. As for shedding, mine doesn't shed any more than the next brush, but that's just the one I have. Who knows if the next one I purchase will shed. The 109 places powder exactly where you want it and in one fluid motion, blends it out. That's why it's BEAUTIFUL for contouring. You can deposit the most color at your ear and easily and flawlessly blend it downward. Same with blush, the size of the 109 fits PERFECTLY along your cheekbone therefor accentuating it in the most beautiful way possible. I would recommend this brush to ANYONE, and I'd say it's totally worth the 32 dollars. LOVE
