Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Nostalgic Nail Lacquer Karma Chameleon
GreenFaerie 5/20/2013 5:02:00 PM
While perhaps a nail polish called Karma Chameleon would be expected to have red, gold, and green in it, I am certainly glad this one doesn't. All the lovely pastel glitters are absolutely gorgeous in the milky white crelly base. This is one that you have to build towards opacity; I used 4 coats and I can still see visible nail line (but only if you scrutinise). If I remembered to use a white ridge filler (or white polish) as a base coat, I don't think I'd have this problem though, and possibly may have only had to have used 3 coats. Next time I might try a light pink underneath. Applied very well and pretty evenly (no need to dab glitter- it dispersed wonderfully in normal application). As this is only the second day of wear, I can't speak to its longevity, but so far no chips or cracks which would be the hallmark of a not so good polish. I used Essie Sensitivity base coat and Seche Vite as a top coat. This is making my shortlist of "favourite nail polishes."

Fragrances -The Body Shop - White Musk Body Spray
GreenFaerie 7/13/2005 6:42:00 PM
The fragrance is close to your skin with this one. Definitely not overpowering, very soft. A bit clean, cozy, and comfortable. The scent itself flutters between being "old" yet very innocent. Definitely feminine.

Fragrances -LUSH - Ginger
GreenFaerie 3/30/2005 11:10:00 PM
I truly fell head over heels in love with this the moment I sprayed it on my hand. It smells different to me than the other things in the ginger line. The scent itself it spicy, true, but it's enveloped in a soft, powdery note and complex yet relaxing floral aroma. There's also a gentle sweetness to it. Normally I would wear spicy scents in the fall, but this one doesn't seem to fall into any seasonal categories. I was quite surprised coming here to see all the bad reviews. I made an impulse buy of it but if I had read these reviews, I may not have even bothered sniffing it. I would have saved myself $60 but I would have never discovered this beautiful perfume. This is definitive LUSH to me. This just screams the essence of most of their scents. A definite new favourite. Just wish the price was better!

Skincare - Body -MMU Cosmetics - Chai
GreenFaerie 3/6/2005 6:43:00 PM
This is a very true scent. Pure straight chai spices, so for those looking for more of a latte type, you'll probably want to experiment with blending it with something else. I have this in the In the Pudding formula- which is okay, but not my favourite lotion formula.

Lotions/ Creams -MMU Cosmetics - Sticky Bun Bons
GreenFaerie 2/23/2005 11:45:00 PM
This is a warm and slightly spicy cinnamom scent that doesn't irritate my skin at all. Unfortunately, along with all the other scents I got during the holidays, this had a prevalent burnt note to it. I got this in the Soy Good and scented strongly.

Lotions/ Creams -MMU Cosmetics - Brownies by Angels

This is a so-so chocolate sniff. I think there are better out there. I might like this better, but all the lotions I ordered before the holidays had the same prevalent burnt note to them. I don't know why this happened.

Lotions/ Creams -Natural Esscents - Vanilla Lace Body Whip
GreenFaerie 2/22/2005 11:37:00 PM
Vanilla Lace is a common enough scent that many etailers have it, and of course the original VS. But I love the texture of NE's body whips and her scents have always been very true on me. This is a very perfect version of the scent. Sweet vanilla made interesting by the very agreeable floral of the orchid. But this scent isn't floral at all- in the same vein as Vaniglia del Madagascar. Lovely, simple, and has the potential to be layered well with a multitude of scents.

Lotions/ Creams -Natural Esscents - Love Goddess Body Whip
GreenFaerie 2/22/2005 11:33:00 PM
This was LE, but just in case it ever comes back or if someone wants to swap for it... Out of the tub, it smelled way too strong and perfumey for me, and I generally *like* perfume smells. But I thought I'd give it a try. On me it isn't as heady as in the jar, and turns into a soft, powdery amber, with just a touch of sweetness and an almost clean quality. I think it's pretty sexy, but die-hard foody scent lovers beware: this isn't for you.

Gels/Soaps -Sephora - Indulgences - Triple Layer Cake Hair & Body Wash
GreenFaerie 2/19/2005 6:09:00 PM
This isn't straight out foody and cake in a baking sort of way. It has a definite perfume note to it, but it mixes with a very sweet buttercream icing scent and makes it interesting. For that reason, I'd buy it again. It lathers well and it's good to use as a shampoo too.

Lotions/ Creams -MMU Cosmetics - Sweetheart Latte
GreenFaerie 2/15/2005 2:13:00 AM
I have this in the Shea Butter Body Souffle scented strongly. The description from the MMU website is "A lover's potion of creamy, Sweet Milk, unified with a touch of Cardamom, Brown Sugar, and Vanilla. Sinfully topped with White Chocolate slivers and Pink Candy hearts." What I get from this is a very sweet, slightly coffee-ish scent- it smells of cinnamon, but doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. It's a little bit powdery as well. I really liked it upon first application, but it quickly loses its scent and fades. I'd really love this if the scent didn't disappear so quickly.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Lotion
GreenFaerie 2/7/2005 12:15:00 AM
I've tried dupes of this scent, but nothing beats the original. I recently came to fall in love with this one again. It isn't exactly a foody scent, but still warm and comforting. The lotion consistency is thin, but it still moisturizes pretty well and isn't heavy in the least bit.

Gels/Soaps -Henri Bendel - Vanilla Bean Bar Soap
GreenFaerie 2/7/2005 12:13:00 AM
I absolutely fell in love with this scent with the HB Vanilla Bean candle and was thrilled they came out with a soap. The soap smells just like the candle (with a little bit of characteristic soap smell), and it suds and lathers great, leaves you clean but not dry, and is lasting me more than a month now. Now if they'll only come out with a matching lotion and pefume...

Scrubs -Primal Elements - Vanilla Sugar Whip
GreenFaerie 2/7/2005 12:10:00 AM
I hate to disagree with the other positive reviews, and while the scent of this is divinely yummy and I love the texture (like Cool Whip!), I'm hard pressed to see why this is called a scrub. The sugar granules are so small, they barely do anything. If you're looking for a very, very gentle scrub, try this. The smell is to die for, and it is moisturizing without being oily at all. But I can't say I'd buy it again- just no scrubbiness factor for me.

Fragrances -Suds and Light - Perfumed Body Mist in Warm Vanilla Sugar
GreenFaerie 2/7/2005 12:07:00 AM
This isn't a spot-on dupe of B&BW's, and it lacks something theirs has. It is pretty nice though, but way too light and the lasting power is very short.

Candles -Laughing Out Loud - Cinnamon Strudel
GreenFaerie 1/30/2005 11:07:00 PM
Heavy on the cinnamon, but definitely has a pastery note as well. I love warm cinnamon scents, so if you do as well, this tart is for you.
