Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy Now 2008
rated 5 of 5

Let me first list the description of the notes given on the website, because I am not great at describing scents: "Fragrance type: Fruity floral Top notes: glazed apple, pineapple pulp, bergamot, melon Middle notes: magnolia blossom, peony petals, jasmine Low notes: peach, vanilla, sandalwood, sensual musks" This is one of my favorite perfume of all time. I have the mist as well and will be very disappointed when I run out, since this is limited edition. If you are looking for a light, tropical fragrance for summer, this is it. I don't think this is as concentrated as other EDP's that I own, I would have labeled it as an EDT, but it's strong enough to last, yet light enough to wear on a hot day and not get a headache. Every time I wear this I get compliments, and I will never get tired of this. Another plus is that is that the spray bottle has a press in top that very easy to use and looks cute. It's inexpensive at about $50 for 2.7oz

Fragrances -Philosophy - Amazing Grace cologne

I swapped for this because of all the great reviews, but I simply don't get it. It smells like it would be perfect for a much older audience, but not for anyone in their 20's or 30's. It is floral, but too strong and not enticing.

Liquid -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
GreenEyes85 4/24/2008 12:11:00 AM

I keep changing my review for this because I am conflicted. I have never found a liquid foundation that I have liked, because they are usually too yellow, oxidize and are not easy to touch-up or blend on the rest of the body. I wear Everyday Minerals because I can apply it quickly and effortlessly on my face, neck, chest and anywhere I want, and it keeps me matte for most of the day. I tried a sample of Maybelline Mineral Power and decided to buy a full-sized because I thought it would travel well (no loose powder or brushes needed). I really love the coverage and the natural feel of this on my skin. This has light to medium coverage that is buildable. It has a luminosity to it (a dewey finish) after a few hours that I do not like, but I can blot or powder over it. If you don't have oily skin you would love this. Other than that, I have sensitive skin and this does not irritate it or cause breakouts. I will definitely keep this in my travel case (with a pressed blotting powder) until I find a more matte one with a great application like this one. $9.99 for 1oz and I got Pure Beige (Light Beige was too yellow).

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Redness Relief Perfecting Lotion with spf 15
rated 5 of 5
GreenEyes85 4/14/2008 11:53:00 PM

I will use this as my daily lotion and primer from now on. I apply this sparingly, as instructed, by rubbing it between my hands and blending it into my face until you cannot detect a color. This works beautifully for me and I honestly cannot understand how people are getting a green tint. For more SPF protection, I would recommend Eucerin without a green tint, so you can slather it on, but this works for me. I don't have a lot of redness in the morning, but my skin is sensitive to everything so it gets red throughout the day, whether from makeup, the environment or just anxiety. This evens my skin tone beautifully, and leaves me looking perfect the entire day. If I need more moisture I wear C.O. Bigelow Extra-Light Face Lotion under this. At night, I only wear my C.O. Bigelow lotion, because all SPF makes me break out whenI sleep on it over night. I do use mineral make-up over this, and have noticed I stay more matte throughout the day than with previous lotions. It has not made me break out or react in any way, but it is photostable. This is the only product that does this for me. I tried Prescriptives All-Weather Friend SPF, but it was a very watery consistency and did nothing for me. This is inexpensive and readily available. I recommend this and the non-tinted formula for anyone with combo/sensitive skin like mine. The only drawback: I wish the bottle was plastic and not glass.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
rated 4 of 5
GreenEyes85 4/14/2008 11:46:00 PM

I was told I couldn't use a primer if I had oily skin, but I tried samples of this anyway. It was greasier than I expected, but then again I had no idea primers existed before this so I didn't know how it was supposed to feel. My make-up went over this flawlessly and even my shadow lasted longer (I put it on my entire face) that day. I still had some shine in the t-zone that I had to blot away, but I will use my tinted silk dust over this next time. I have very sensitive skin and this did not make me breakout or react in anyway. However, I do use a great cleanser and BHA gel or scrub 2x a week. I would not wear this daily because it adds more time to my routine, but I would purchase a bottle to use when I go out. I recently purchased Eucerine sunscreen lotion with green tint for my face, so I think that has the effect of a primer for daily use, and it's a lot less expensive.

Loose Powders -Everyday Minerals - Tinted Silk Dust [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
GreenEyes85 4/9/2008 9:43:00 PM

The only area on my face that I need oil control is the t-zone; however, when it gets super oily, its gross. I tried the original silk dust and it left a white cast on my skin, so I decided to try this tinted version. I love it. I lightly dust a bit of this under my foundation, and over if I want to set it better, and it keeps me matte all day. Some days I don't have to blot at all, others I have to blot once hours after application - I used to use blotting papers constantly. I definitely recommend applying this with a light hand, but you don't need much for the product to work. I should mention I have very sensitive, acne-prone skin and nothing in the EM line has made me breakout.

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - New Flat Top Brush
rated 3 of 5
GreenEyes85 4/9/2008 9:37:00 PM

This is a super soft, but incredibly dense brush that is high quality - so I recommend it for the price. It has not shed, it does not scratch and the handle is the perfect size. However, I have not been able to get a light to medium application of EM foundation with this brush, so this is definitely better for full coverage application. Simply put, every time I have tried to use this brush, even with tiny amounts of powder, it looks cakey. I know that all powder that the brush picks up is getting on my face, because it is so dense, but it does not buff out or spread well. I will stick with my BE flawless face brushes for foundation application for now, but I'm trying to make this brush work because it feels amazing on my skin.

Fragrances -Chanel - Coco Mademoiselle
rated 4 of 5
GreenEyes85 4/2/2008 5:57:00 PM

Coming from someone who hates heavy perfumes and who dislikes Coco, I love Coco Mademoiselle EDT. The EDP is wa y too strong for me (I am prone to migraines) and is better suited for special occasions, more mature individuals or winter. The Coco Mad EDT is not light, it lasts all day on me and I cannot imagine ever using the EDP. I still prefer Chance to this, but it is definitely one of my favorites. I own Miss Dior Cherie as well, which is sweeter, but Coco Mad has a better dry-down scent in my opinion.

Loose Powders -Everyday Minerals - Silk Dust (Untinted ) [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
GreenEyes85 4/2/2008 5:54:00 PM

This product is amazing at oil control. I have tried various mattifying lotions and powders, but none of them ever made a difference in my skin. I have an oily t-zone about an hour after I wash my face. With a light application of EM Silk Dust under and/or over my EM foundation, I do not have to blot all day - this stuff is incredible. I can see why previous reviewers would say this looks cakey - you really have to apply it with a light hand and a quality brush. Do not "buff" this into your skin like you do the foundation, because it will give you a white wash. The only reason I gave this a 4 is because it does make me look a tiny bit lighter, and since my face is already lighter than my body, I do like want this effect. Next, I am trying Tinted Silk Dust because I don't think it will alter the color of my foundation. Great for the price. I use this with Intensive and Matte formulas.

Sunscreen -Prescriptives - All-Weather Friend Daily UVA/UVB Sun Protection SPF 40
rated 3 of 5
GreenEyes85 3/25/2008 10:27:00 PM

Day One: After the first application, this sunscreen sunk right in and did not make my skin shiny in the T-zone like most other moisturizers do within an hour. However, the next time I apply this I will apply a light moisturizer on my cheeks underneath this sunscreen, because in winter this is not moisturizing enough for me. I like C.O. Bigelow Extra-Light Face Lotion. The fact that it does not dry out my skin or cause my T-zone to get oily is a huge plus. I have been wearing this for 12 hours. Also, I did not feel any stinging, tightness, burning or cooling after applying this, nor have I had any breakouts, redness or rashes from this all day. My mineral makeup applied nicely over this sunscreen and remained more matte than with previous sunscreen moisturizers I have tried. So far the only drawbacks are the price (altho I got this on sale and with a free shipping promo) and the fact that I wish the bottle had a pump top. Other than that I'm a fan. I will update in about a week of daily use. Update: I have been using this daily and have had no breakouts. The only drawback is that I wish this was a lotion consistency so I would not have to wear a lotion underneath. Also, because it is so runny, I do not think I am getting SPF 40 protection. For the price, these drawbacks are enough to make me not repurchase.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Eyeshadow Brush
rated 5 of 5
GreenEyes85 3/25/2008 4:51:00 PM

I am shocked there are no reviews on this brush. I am not a big fan of E.L.F. Cosmetics, but the brushes, eye lash curler, and eye shadow palettes I have purchased are amazing - and only $1 each! This eye shadow brush is incredibly soft and dense. It takes a slight amount of shadow and effortlessly deposits all of it on my lid and/or crease. It does not shed and the handle is a pretty shimmery white color. I would recommend everyone get a couple of them - great deal!

Moisturizers -Murad - Energizing Pomegranate Moisturizer SPF 15
rated 3 of 5
GreenEyes85 3/18/2008 3:01:00 PM

I'm not really sure why reviewers are recommending this product for oily skin. This works for the outer edges of my face where I tend to have normal/dry skin, but in my t-zone this looks greasy instantly and does not sink in. I would continue to use this on my cheeks but prefer my C.O. Bigelow Extra-Light Moisturizer for my entire face (keeps me more matte). I do not notice a smell with the Murad moisturizer, and the tube seems fine to me - not messy, but I would prefer a pump top. I would not purchase this, but I received this new in a swap.

Scrubs -Clinique - 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula
rated 4 of 5
GreenEyes85 3/17/2008 11:37:00 PM

I got this as a GWP and I think it works well on my combo/sensitive skin. I do like to exfoliate once a week, besides using my 2% BHA gel once a week. The beads in this are small but there are a lot of them - so it makes the perfect scrub. This is less creamy than I thought it would be, but I love the consistancy. I typically use St. Ives Gentle Scrub which is much more creamy, but it exfoliates sensitive very well. For the price, I would only buy this if there was a great GWP available at the time. You get 3.4 oz for $17.50. In reference to previous reviews, in my experience it is never appropriate to scrub your face daily. Your skin needs time to regenerate between exfoliation, so it is best to do it 3x a week at most. If you find this is making your skin worse, you are exfoliating far too frequently. Also, do not use harsh acne meds with this - the combo will not be good. You need one exfoliator at a time or your skin will be red and raw. This was learned thru personal experience and now my skin the best it has ever been.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Daisy
rated 5 of 5
GreenEyes85 3/17/2008 9:55:00 AM

This is my new favorite fragrance. I currently wear Romance, Miss Dior Cherie, Chance and Deep Red, but I wanted something very light for summer. Daisy comes in an EDT, so its light, but after an 8 hour shift I can still smell it on my wrists so it has staying power. I'm not into ridiculously expensive niche perfumes, so I'm only familiar with department store fragrances, but this is my favorite of all time at this point. I would definitely repurchase the larger size when I'm done with the 1.7oz.

Moisturizers -C.O. Bigelow - Extra Light Face Lotion [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
GreenEyes85 3/13/2008 12:46:00 AM

This is one of the few moisturizers (and I have tried dozens) that does not make me break out, give me super oily skin, or cause an allergic reaction. It actually keeps me more matte than any other lotion I have tried. This is the perfect amount of moisture for someone whose face tends to get oily throughout the day. However, in the winter when my skin is drier around my cheeks and chin, I need to add a heavier moisturizer - so I just avoid the heavier moisturizer on my T-zone. I would prefer a pump bottle, but the packaging isn't too terrible. In reference to the review below, I don't know any (nor would I recommend) moisturizers that last more than a year. The ingredients definitely would not remain active. I would suggest buying the small 2oz bottle for 12.50 for those who are unable to finish a larger bottle in 6 months. In addition to this I use Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser, 2% BHA gel once a week and 100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream.
