I just want to address a comment made below regarding the Lavender Extract (LE) in this product. It certainly made me hesitate, despite the really great reviews for this product, so I looked into this a little further. While it is true that LE (or rather, linalool acid, a component of the LE) can be considered cytotoxic, this was found to be an issue in synthetic linalool acid, NOT naturally occurring linalool acid, as would be found in this product (since it specifically says the LE is certified organic, and LE is not an approved additive which can be listed on a certified organic product despite being synthetic). SO, having said all of that, I really shouldn't rate it because I haven't tried it. BUT, I wanted to share the information I found regarding this product's ingredients... there is no reason to pass it by due to concerns over the LE ingredient. I will update after trying to see if the awesome ingredients actually do translate into awesome results for my skin. :) Hope this helps!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Honey
rated 5 of 5
GlowMeAway 9/6/2012 12:17:00 AM

I can't say enough good things about honey. Honey has been used for thousands of years as an antibacterial agent. When my son was growing up, whenever he had a cut or an infection, I would clean it, spread honey on it, cover it with a bandage, and without fail it would heal quickly and easily. (Fun fact: a study published a couple of years ago in JAMA showed honey was EQUAL to chemical antibacterial agents used in and after surgery to prevent infection. How awesome is that?) I also use it as a masque several times a week. I have skin that likes to break out, and the antibacterial properties of honey keeps breakouts at bay and leaves me with soft, glowing skin. It also works great as a natural hair conditioner, and can be combined with eggs to soften hair. Finally, of course, raw natural honey tastes delish and can be used in place of processed sweeteners for cooking or topping. It is FULL of vitamins and so good for you, inside and out. Yum! The only problem.. whenever I try to use it as a lip exfoliator (combine with sugar), or a lip masque (just use it plain), I end up licking it off because it's so tasty. My bad.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Vivite Revitalizing Eye Cream
rated 1 of 5
GlowMeAway 9/4/2012 5:12:00 PM

This was pretty much the most horrible eye product I've ever used. It dried out my eye area, and caused it to burn red. It hurt and looked terrible. I have pretty tough skin that usually reacts pretty well to whatever I throw at it, acids or what-have-you even in the eye area, just so long as I go slow and pay attention, but this was just awful. No redeeming value whatsoever, and it was ridiculously expensive. I don't mind paying for products if they're worth it, but I wouldn't give this to my worst enemy. Booo. Two thumbs down.

Hair Removal -Gigi - Hair Removal Lotion
rated 5 of 5
GlowMeAway 5/4/2011 11:35:00 PM

I'm SOO mad at myself!! Why, oh why, have I been waxing for so many years when I could have been using this?? Seriously. I started off with the hair removal cream for face, and fell in love. I applied a thick layer to the peach fuzz on my face and chin, waited 7 minutes, and was completely smooth! I didn't feel a thing until I wiped it off, then was red and burned slightly, so applied the calming balm (included), and it calmed down immediately. The next day, NO pimples (I ALWAYS get them with waxing, it seems like right about the time my pimples calm down, it's time to wax again. ugh. But not so with this!!). Just soft, smooth skin. So I tried out the hair removal cream for body and same GREAT results!! I'm in love!! I think the only thing I will keep waxing will be my eyebrows! I have not tried this on my bikini area yet, but that's coming up next. So we'll see if I will get to get away with using this or if I will have to keep waxing that area. For the record then, I've used the body cream on my arms, underarms, belly, and legs, and tops of toes. I'm not really that hairy, and I'm a blonde so for the most part it's not terribly coarse, but I like to be completely hair free everywhere but my actual head. And I suppose my eyebrows. :) But overall, yeah baby, two thumbs up!! Oh yeah, and it's cheap!! Around $8 a tube at Sallys.

Shampoo -Nioxin - system 7
rated 5 of 5
GlowMeAway 3/16/2011 11:54:00 PM

I have used this for years and can honestly say I would go without food rather than go without this!! Seriously. I have tried all kinds of different brands, and nothing makes my hair as deliciously soft, healthy, and amazing as Nioxin 7. My hair is colored and highlighted, thick, coarse, and has a tendency to get very dry. This stuff makes it amazing!!! Seriously. A few times I have run out and tried something else ( I always use salon brands, never from the store) and NOTHING compares, so I've given up trying anything else. My hair just doesn't like it. If they ever discontinue this I will search high and low for the last remaining bottles to stockpile a lifetime supply.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lansinoh Lanolin

GlowMeAway 1/10/2010 3:45:00 PM

Okay so I thought I'd better throw in my 2 cents here on yet another great MUA find. Every winter, no matter how obsessive I am about consistently applying lotions and cream to my hands, without fail they get dry, red, and chapped... and just plain hurt. This happened yet again this year, and as I was lamenting to myself about how much my hands hurt... I suddenly remembered the great reviews I had seen for this product. So I zipped up to Target (yes, made a special trip) and found this. Got home, and immediately applied to the backs of my hands. That was two hours ago. Yes it's goopy and looks and feels greasy on my hands, but oh my goodness... in TWO hours the redness is gone, and you can't even tell how chapped they were except for one particularly troublesome spot. I will be applying this regularly, although probably at night with gloves because it certainly doesn't sink into the skin like a lotion or hand cream. Nevertheless, if it keeps working like this... I'll be a follower for life. I'm amazing at the instant difference!! Wow. Like wow.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Claroderm Acne Fighting Mitt
rated 5 of 5
GlowMeAway 1/1/2010 2:26:00 AM

Amazing amazing amazing amazing. A true HG product. Like the other reviewers said... it is deceptive in that it seems so soft that you feel like you can scrub hard. Don't. But believe me when I say it removes every trace of makeup, even waterproof mascara, and exfoliates your skin without any chemicals and without any need to scrub... even though you feel like you want to. ;) I can't say enough good things about this... makes my skin smooth and soft, and helps my skincare products absorb much more readily. The only downer is the price. $10 each on folica.com. I read some reviews on other microfiber cloths that said "yeah, just purchase the washcloths in the auto aisle, same thing." Trust me, they are not even close. Those are great for household cleaning, which is what they have been relegated to. These, on the other hand, deserve some kind of golden pedestal upon which to rest. They are that good.

Treatments -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - TCA Peel
rated 3 of 5
GlowMeAway 12/31/2009 4:33:00 PM

So, I'm a little disappointed in this product, but AM planning to keep using and see what happens. Several months ago I did the 12.5% TCA and was extremely disappointed. After some stinging and burning upon application, it really didn't do much at all... and there was a freckle under my eye that appeared AFTER this. I decided to take it up a notch and see if results might be better. So a week ago I tried the 15%. This one actually didn't sting nearly as much, and I had immediate frosting on my cheeks. Within an hour and a half, my cheeks had darkened considerably, while the rest of my face just looked like I had a mild sunburn. I actually had the flu this week, so hiding inside my house was no big deal, and I'm glad I had the time to do it because I looked pretty awful. I can't believe the difference in my skin's reaction from the 12.5 to 15. It started to peel in about two days, and most of the heavy peeling was days 3-5. I still have some peeling going on, but it's mostly flakies. The skin on my cheeks actually looks very healthy and fresh... but the rest of my face, I can't tell much difference. So, with a three week rest, I am going to go ahead and peel again with an additional application on my forehead area (where I really wanted to see results). I guess we'll see. So basically, I'm disappointed, but the "freshness" gives me enough motivation I'll continue to try it and see if things don't have some more dramatic improvement with continued use.

Liquid -Tarte - ReCreate Anti-Aging Foundation With Wrinkle Rewind Technology SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
GlowMeAway 12/27/2009 12:29:00 PM

I love this foundation... it is smooth and applies easily with great coverage. For the record, I have acne-prone skin with dry patches. I have to make sure I exfoliate and moisturize moisturize moisturize. If I don't moisturize, this will definitely highlight the dry patches and is difficult to spread. When I do my prep work, this gives me a great, healthy glow and melts right into my skin so it just looks like me... with great skin! :) The pump is horrible, but I got it not long after it came out and I believe they've revised it since then? Don't quote me on that. I have to be careful when pumping it out, and make sure I'm not wearing my clothes for the day, because more than once it's shot out so hard it splatters onto my clothing. Ugh. Otherwise, love it, and it makes me want to look in the mirror all day at my gorgeous self. Jk. ;)

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Lucky
rated 4 of 5
GlowMeAway 12/24/2009 4:33:00 PM

As with all the 24/7s, I can count on this to go on smoothly and stay all day. The color is absolutely beyond gorgeous, and really brings out my blue eyes. The only thing I don't like is the glitter, and I mean huge chunks of glitter. If they would make this color without that, it would have a 5+star rating... I love it that much. Just not chunks of glitter all over my face. ;)

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
rated 4 of 5
GlowMeAway 12/22/2009 9:57:00 PM

This is a great little mascara. Doesn't clump, and stays in place. I purchased the waterproof version and applied two coats of this, topped by a coat of Lash Stilletto. Overall effect was very fake eyelash, no clumping, smudging or flaking, didn't irritate my eyes at all. I've been using Diorshow Iconic mascara for over a year, which I like, but my bf had a hot little shower thing he wanted to try so I had to quickly pick up something waterproof. I honestly didn't see much dif between this and the Diorshow, except obviously the price was much better and since these were waterproof they didn't smudge and run down my face. Very nice and definitely worth the price. I might just switch to this and save myself a few bucks.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Body Innovations Lip Explosion
rated 5 of 5
GlowMeAway 5/18/2009 12:37:00 PM

Wow I can't believe all of the bad reviews for this. I absolutely love it! I've tried so many lip plumpers over the years, and none do anything for me. I ran across this on clearance and picked one up for $5, figuring it was worth a try at that price. And wow, it's amazing! My lips get red and plump and just plain yummy. My lips are pretty much my fave feature, so I try to highlight them anyway, and whenever I wear this, I get lots of compliments about my full, pouty lips. I don't even wear any lip stick over or under, as of course the redness that it brings to my lips is the perfect shade of color. lol. Definitely worth a try and I WILL pay full price once I run out. It lasts for a long, long time though, so that ups the worth it factor.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
GlowMeAway 1/31/2009 2:32:00 PM

I. Love. This. Cleanser. It gently cleanses without overdrying, rinses clean and leaves my face soft, glowing, and "fresh." It was recommended to me by my derm as a teen, but I didn't think it was doing "enough" for me at that time. I tried it again years later after trying of course a thousand other products, far more expensive than this. I don't know why I ever gave it up, but trust me, I won't make that mistake again! This leaves my face clean, balanced, and ready for all the other fun products I love to try! A pump bottle of it lasts me a good six months, using twice a day. I am on my third bottle now, and that is saying a lot... I rarely stick with one product for that long. My HG cleanser.

Lip Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - Lips to Die For Lip Trio
rated 5 of 5
GlowMeAway 1/19/2009 3:26:00 PM

Based on Stainless' review below, I purchased this trio. And it really is amazing! The products smell so sweet and yummy, and my lips look perfectly plumped, smooth, and feel oh-so-soft afterward. The effects aren't terribly long lasting, so I like to use it just before a date or something along those lines as it makes a bam! first impression. Not to say my lips don't stay smooth and gorgeous, just that the immediate effects are that outstanding. Yes it's expensive, but you will love this worthy indulgence!

Treatments -Lancaster - 365 Cellular Elixir Serum
rated 1 of 5
GlowMeAway 8/5/2008 11:47:00 PM

I SO wanted to love this serum... after reading all of these reviews and shelling out nearly $100 for it, I really expected to see some great results. But truthfully, I've been using it several weeks now and see NO especially amazing changes in my skin. There hasn't been anything negative... no breakouts, etc., so I will continue to use til I'm out. But won't repurchase. Sadly disappointed. :-( Update: well, I used this clear thru the bottle and when I discontinued use, I couldn't even tell the difference. Far too much money for no result.
