Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide on eyeliner in bourbon

This is one of the smudgier liners I have tried, and I mean that in a bad way. It really likes to migrate to underneath my eyes (maybe because it's so creamy) and it definitely does not stay on my upper lashline 24-7. It fades significantly for me after 4 hours. Not ideal. The color is okay, but it's a little too light to really define and give the illusion of bigger eyes and lusher lashes. But I have brown eyes and black lashes, so I generally go for something a little darker. My favorite no-fade, no-smudge liners are the gel pots from Bobbi Brown. Try those instead.

Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils

Mascara seems to be one of those things that really wears differently on different people. This one did not do it for me. I noticed smudges within two hours of wear, and I really can't say that about many other mascaras I've tried. It gave decent length and volume but it wasn't anything special, and certainly wasn't enough for me to forgive it for the terrible sin of crazy smudging. I have much better luck with Maybelline Full 'n Soft and MUFE Smoky Lash, although neither is my HG. The search continues.

Blush -Laura Mercier - Orange Blossom

Very nice blush. It gives something in between a pop of color and a super natural barely-there tint. It warms up my NC25 complexion and makes me look healthy. In the same color category as the Armani #2 blush but slightly more pigmented and punchier. Not a lot of blush in the package, though -- it's the size of LM's single eyeshadow pan and contains about half as much as the typical blush (0.13 oz). Once you use it down to the pan, you can tell that it's not as finely milled because it doesn't wear down evenly and gets a little chunky. Not a big deal for me, though.

Blush -Giorgio Armani - Sheer Blush #2

Gorgeous, gorgeous light nude peach blush that you can't overdo because it's so sheer. Great for work and those days where you want something super natural and healthy-looking. Bonus: completely idiot-proof and looks ridiculously good no matter how quickly you slap it on because it basically blends itself. Those who say it doesn't show up on the skin might not be using enough; because it's so sheer, you do need to be more heavy-handed but it looks amazing afterwards. Perfect on my lighter skin (NC25), but not sure how much it will show up on darker skin tones. Smashbox blush in Bare is a cheaper dupe -- I have both and they look very similar on, but Smashbox feels less finely milled. P.S. Pretty sure the image associated with this blush is wrong. Google it to see the right color.

Bronzers -Fyrinnae - Matte Light
GlossHappily 11/1/2012 4:54:00 PM
This stuff is amazing and I buy a lot of HE cosmetics. It is a light taupe-ish brown with no orange or tan in it whatsoever. I've only seen photos of Chanel's Notorious but I think this is slightly more brown and less purple/grey/taupe than Notorious. Compared to other bronzers like Guerlain, Dior, and Bobbi Brown, it is definitely more cool-toned. Although I bought the matte, it has a teeny bit of shimmer but it's not noticeable on the skin.
Although it's billed as a bronzer, I use it more for contour and it's FANTASTIC on my NC25 skin. It's also the perfect mid-tone brown-taupe eyeshadow that I've been searching for. Great for work. Buy the sample size for $1.50 and get a small sifter to fit into the sample jar -- it's much easier than trying to get your brush in there with enough precision so that you don't overdip in the loose powder. It's pretty pigmented and I use just a little bit each time. My little sample jar has lasted me for a couple of months and is still going strong.
