There's not much more to say about these that hasn't already been said. This product is amazing for anyone with oily skin. I will never be without them!

Moisturizers -Boscia - Recharging Night Moisture
rated 4 of 5
Gloss 1/17/2011 12:55:00 PM

This is a really great night cream. I'd been eyeing it for some time while I tried to save money by using Cetaphil cream. I really wanted the cheap moisturizer to work as so many had raved about it, but soon accepted the fact that it gave me new whiteheads every night and trashed it. Feeling defeated, I finally gave in and purchased the Boscia Recharging Night Moisture from Sephora. First off, let me say that this stuff is hella expensive. It's $45 for a small tube that will maybe last me 3 months. However, I can put that gripe aside because this stuff is life changing for acne prone skin that still needs a lot of moisture at night. To date, I haven't found another night cream that keeps my oily skin super comfortable all night, isn't super greasy, and best of all - doesn't cause me to wake up to new zits in the morning! It's a pretty simplistic product but it does what it claims to do. Because of that, I will continue to repurchase.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
rated 4 of 5
Gloss 1/12/2011 5:11:00 PM

Everything breaks out my skin - some days I'm convinced even water does - but this is one moisturizer that not only provides good moisture in the winter months but also doesn't break me out. I use it every morning after washing my face with Cetaphil. It absorbs quickly and didn't make my face excessively oily throughout the day (though I still need to blot occasionally). The reason why I took away one lippie is because the price is pretty outrageous and I'm also not a big fan of dipping my fingers into the jar to get product. But these are things I'm willing to live with because it took me such a long time to find a day cream that works for me!

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection
rated 2 of 5
Gloss 12/30/2008 9:18:00 AM

I must say that this product is way too crappy to be so expensive. I got a small tube of this in a Too Faced gift set - the Decades of Beauty, I believe. I was really excited to try it, as I've been tempted to buy it in the past but just couldn't make myself shell out that much cash for a mascara. Now I'm glad I waited because this is definitely NOT worth it. The mascara wand appears caked with thick makeup when pulled out of the tube. However, when I applied it to my lashes it was unbelievably dry - so dry that it was hard to even get it to transfer from the brush to my lashes! I've never had a brand new mascara perform like this. I usually use one coat of mascara for my everyday work face. With this stuff, I had to put on 3 coats just to get it to show up. The thickening effect is very minimal and the lengthening in non-existent. I'm still undecided whether I can even try to finish this tube or just give up and go back to my trusty CG mascara. Very disappointing.

Moisturizers -Olay - Age Defying Intensive Nourishing Night Cream [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Gloss 10/29/2008 10:46:00 PM

There's really nothing not to love about this night cream. As a gal with combo skin who's extremely prone to pimples, this is almost a miracle in a jar. It doesn't break me out and has just enough beta hydroxy to help keep my skin clear, yet it feels rich and emollient. It's like a treat every night - I actually look forward to applying this because it just feels so nourishing. The best part is that it's an excellent moisturizer yet doesn't make my face greasy in the least. I sometimes stray to new products, but I always come back to this one because it just works so well for me.

Toners -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Toner
rated 4 of 5
Gloss 10/29/2008 10:39:00 PM

I think this is a great toner. I was using Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion but was starting to wonder if maybe it was a little TOO mild. I've tried the other Clinique toners before and knew I wasn't going there again. So I began looking for a drugstore toner that had salicylic acid in it and stumbled upon this one. Since there's only a slight amount of salicylic and glycolic acid, I hoped that it would help clear my skin of oil and makeup after washing without drying it out. At first I wasn't that impressed as it was by no means a miracle acne fighter. But after using it for over a week now, I'm definitely seeing improvement. My skin is much smoother and clearer lately thanks in part to this toner.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash Daily Scrub
rated 5 of 5
Gloss 10/28/2008 10:48:00 PM

My combo skin was having issues with lots of little whiteheads scattered over my face (and in particular on my forehead and chin). Fed up, I started using this scrub every night after washing off my makeup with Cetaphil. I find that the salicylic acid in this is just strong enough to clear up my skin without drying it out. That said, I can only use this once a day - any more than that and I'm sure it'd be overkill. The scrub feels good on my skin - not too harsh - and rinses clean. It has no discernible scent that I can tell, and I love the fresh feeling and smooth skin that I have after using it. I'll buy it again.

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning lotion
rated 4 of 5
Gloss 8/6/2008 1:06:00 PM

I love this lotion. I use it every other day after my shower (I alternate between this and Jergens Natural Glow). It absorbs SO quickly but is actually really moisturizing. The fragrance is great - somewhere in between beachy and chocolate. My DH has been commenting a lot more lately on how good I smell after my shower - and I think it's this lotion. Don't know if I'll repurchase because I get bored easily and want to try new lotions, but I'm sure I'll come back to this one soon.

Styling Products -Sunsilk - Waves of Envy Sea Mist [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
Gloss 7/29/2008 12:36:00 PM

I'm not sure how I feel about this product. On one hand, I feel like it does help encourage my wavy hair to curl up faster. However, I think it dries it out a bit and maybe makes it a tad frizzier? It's easy enough to use - just a few quick spray all over your hair and scrunch. The price is right and the fragrance is fine, but I don't want to waste my $$ on something that only works in my imagination. I'm still trying to decide whether it's something I'd repurchase.

Shampoo -Clairol - Psssssst Instant Spray Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Gloss 7/29/2008 12:30:00 PM

I have really thick hair and only need to shampoo every 2 or 3 days or it dries out. The only issue I have is that my roots start to get a tad oily by the end. So I'd been using baby powder, but I wasn't really happy with it. I was about to break down and spend more $$ on a salon brand product when I discovered the reviews for this little gem. I love how the product isn't white and therefore blends into my brunette roots a lot better. A little goes a long way - just spray it on your roots and fluff. The scent is not my favorite, but that fades right after application. I'll def repurchase.

Crème -Cover Girl - AquaSmooth SPF15 Make-up
rated 4 of 5
Gloss 7/28/2008 10:56:00 AM

The trick to this product is finding a shade that actually matches your skintone. CG really needs to work on updating their color selection. The majority of colors are way too pink. Once I found my match - Buff Beige - it looked flawless. It stays matte most of the day, and I only have to touch up my t-zone with pressed powder a couple of times. This makeup lasts an 8 hour work day on me and then some. Doesn't break out my combo, somewhat acne-prone skin. What a great drugstore find!

Styling Products -TRESemme - Curl Care Touchable Curls Shaping Milk
rated 4 of 5
Gloss 7/26/2008 6:27:00 PM

This works really well for me. I use it on my naturally wavy hair on days when I'm too lazy to straighten it. Just a half pump thoroughly saturates me shoulder length THICK hair. I usually mix it with a bit of shine serum too. It kicks up my waves a notch and makes them look much more defined. Doesn't make my hair sticky or crunchy at all - in fact, it feels like there's nothing in my hair. The price can't be beat either.

Powders -Cover Girl - Clean
rated 5 of 5
Gloss 7/8/2008 11:03:00 AM

I have this in the fragrance free version in Buff Beige. I was using MAC Blot powder but didn't want to shell out the cash again when I ran out. Thanks to the good MUA reviews, I picked up this powder instead and I'm so glad since I saved about 20 bucks. The color melts into my skin flawlessly and is truly invisible. It keeps shine at bay - I usually touch up about twice a day. It's true that the included puff sucks, but I can buy mucho new ones with the money I've saved. Will def repurchase and repurchase!

Treatments -MD Skincare by Dr. Dennis Gross - Correct & Perfect Spot Treatment
rated 4 of 5
Gloss 5/13/2008 9:39:00 AM

I love this! This is one of the few skincare items that I'd repurchase again and again. It just WORKS. I apply it every morning after I wash my face but before my moisturizer, and it keeps pimples at bay all day. Apply a thin layer to your breakout-prone areas and it keeps them clear. It has a light sulfur smell but that fades immediately. I also like the color and texture of this cream - it's almost like concealer in that I feel it helps camouflage any spots you do have and make them appear less red and noticeable. Best of all, it doesn't dry out my skin the way Persagel can (I use the harsher stuff at night on any stubborn areas). I took off one lippie bc I think $28 is ridiculous for a small tube but I'll keep buying it for less $$ on eBay.

Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
Gloss 5/11/2008 5:21:00 PM

I use this on lazy weekend days when I don't want to hassle with foundation. This actually has pretty good coverage, yet it applies with the ease of moisturizer. I use it in medium and it blends well into my skin without looking too ghostly pale or too dark. It just gives me a nice glow, and it doesn't break me out. The only downside is how expensive it is. I might try Wet n Wild next since I've heard good things about it.
