Lip Gloss -MAC - Viva Glam V Lipglass
rated 5 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 4/13/2013 5:51:00 PM

I know the name of this is Viva Glam V, but really they should have called it Duct Tape because this gloss fixes darn near everything. Lipstick too bright? Layer VGV on top to tone it down. Too dry? Too boring? Not even sure what the issue is? VGV ON TOP. Until I stop making bad color choices in my lip products, I will be a fan of VGV. So (uh) I hope they continue making this for yeeeeeeeeeeears to come. :)

Lips -Ellis Faas - L202
rated 3 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 4/5/2013 12:54:00 PM

Gah! This product..... Ok so where to start? I love love lurrrrrrrrve the color. I know that l201 aka Ellis Red is supposed to be the universal red, but I found it slightly too bright for my pale complexion. Then I tried l202 which is 201's naughty darker sister. Hello lover! This shade gives me that classic look without turning goth or vampy. I've literally never been able to pull it off before. I love that the formula can be worn sheer or full force (which in my case might be a little scary) but I digress.... So let's cut to the chase. The click pen. For the love of God, the click pen. Yeah I read the reviews and thought "oh please. I would sell a kidney for the right shade of red. I think I can handle a click pen." Uh no. This delivery system makes me think that Ellis Faas secretly hates us and this is our punishment. You have 2 choices : click a billion times, and count how much product is wasted ($35 divided by giant unusable blob = $2.35 on my counter) OR decide if you think you might want to wear it *tomorrow* click twice and hope for the best. Waaaaaaaaaah! Deal breaker.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Vida de Fleur by Celtic Complexion
rated 5 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 1/8/2013 9:38:00 AM

Vida de Fleur is called a "liquid moisturizer", but I'd call it a little piece of heaven. I am an ENORMOUS fan of this line and if I had to pick, this would be my favorite product. I have never used anything quite like it in the sense that even though it is a blend of oils, my skin seems to drink it in without turning me into a broken out mess or grease bomb. (Is that a new Viktor&Rolf frag?) Organic, smells devine, foolproof. Is it pricey? Yes. More importantly, is it overpriced? No. Read her website & she'll tell you why. LOVE.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Celtic Complexion Creme
rated 5 of 5

Let me just say that I have hemmed and hawed about posting a review for this line. Torn between totally wanting to share this moisturizer that I am in love with and realizing that since this company is basically a one woman show (from what I can tell) and thus shooting myself in the foot with availability if you all find out about it. So here's the skinny - this is an all organic hand blended moisturizing cream that was created for normal, dry & sensitive skin. Here's the REAL skinny - this is literally the only moisturizer I have ever purchased twice. You all know I've been around here forever and I don't pull any punches with my skin care thoughts. This is uber emollient and although it might seem expensive at $52 for 2 oz, I would argue #1 that let's face it ladies it's about the same as a jar of Lancome and #2 unlike ANY other product I've tried, when it says you need a pea-size amount, you actually only need a *pea-size amount.* LOVE this line. SO HELP ME - if all of a sudden I can't get my product after this review - I will stalk you all. :)

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Oxygen Activated Foaming Face Wash
rated 4 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 7/27/2011 10:44:00 AM

So here we have the foaming cleanser from the Nuance line brought to you by CVS, Salma Hayek & supposedly, her grandma. *eyeroll* Here's what you need to know: this is a decent cleanser for the 13 some odd bucks I paid for it. Removes make up well (I don't wear heavy) including mascara/eye shadow without stinging or drying. ONE PUMP is enough. You're going to look at the palm of your hand & think I'm crazy, but 2 pumps = so much foam you will look like you just got hit by a cream pie in one of those old vaudeville routines. It does have fragrance, but nothing overpowering. I subtracted a point from the overall rating because I'm sick of reading ridiculous claims on the sides of products these days. I can oxygenate my own skin through a process known as BREATHING and any time I get a "glow" of any sort after cleansing, it usually means 2 benadryls & a nap. Whatever.

Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Impressive
rated 5 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 5/25/2011 5:17:00 PM

This is almost an exact dupe for Benefit's Good to Go, the shade that everyone went gonzo over after it was used on the girl in Twilight. Which by the way I already own. SO did I buy this one anyway? Yep. Why? Texture texture TEXTURE. Not nearly as mushy as Benefit, lasts 2x as long and more moisturizing. Yea!

Mascara -Urban Decay - Cannonball
rated 4 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 5/16/2011 9:24:00 PM

What to make of this product... Cannonball lasted through a 90 minute hot yoga class at 100 degrees & 60% humidity (and I sweat like a working girl in the Lord's House). It was drippy sweaty face and towel-wipe proof and after class shower proof. The funny thing is... when I was doing my daily routine, I could see a few smears from the oil of my skin. Very minor mind you, but there none the less. It was testy to remove (I guess a good thing?) and sent me hunting for a sample of BB remover which did the trick. Wasn't sure that I would like the brush, but in the end it's just fine. Bearing in mind that I don't expect a whole lot from a mascara besides darkening, defining and maybe a little lengthening. So all in all yes, I like it and will probably buy it again despite the price tag for days when I plan on swimming or doing hot yoga or watching a Lifetime made for tv movie.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Jennifer Aniston
rated 5 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 2/24/2011 2:56:00 PM

Ok. Let's clear some things up. This does NOT smell like the beach. This smells like "saturday-morning-do-you-wanna-go-to-the-beach?" 1st spritz is an awful lot like Kenneth Cole Black. (Remember that?) Sweet, strong floral. Jasmine if it were spelled JAZZMINE. But almost immediately that fades and what you're left with is clean & delicious. I'm not great at describing anything that isn't a single note, so I'm not even going to try. What I will say is that although I find the staying power to be less than terrific, this is a very easy fragrance to wear. Comfy. Count me in as a fan. PS I could care less if a celebrity "designed" this or not.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam VI
rated 5 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 11/15/2010 11:15:00 AM

This is a hard color to describe which is part of the reason I love it so. I'm one of those people who can go either warm or cool and Viva Glam VI can play right along with me. I'm pretty pale (I don't use MAC foundation so I have no idea what shade I would be) so I'm not sure this would work with all skin types, but it'as definitely one to test out.

This can only be considered "nude" if you are an Oompa-Loompa. You're welcome in advance.

Lipstick -Giorgio Armani - Sheer Lipstick #21
rated 5 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 9/18/2010 9:54:00 PM

Count me in the cheering section. The last thing I needed was another lippie, but I couldn't resist this little baby's "I just ate fresh berries" effect. Big fan of the non-fragrance as well.

Foundations -Giorgio Armani - Face Fabric Second Skin Nude Makeup
rated 2 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 9/18/2010 9:44:00 PM

Not loving this one. I had a hard time finding a good color match and felt this sunk into my pores... Although it claims to be "invisible coverage", something about it screamed "Look at ME! I'm foundation!!!" on my skin. Not my style...

Blush -Illamasqua - Cream in Betray
rated 5 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 9/18/2010 9:36:00 PM

Attention my super pale sisters: do not let the color in the pan or description scare you! I agree with PP - this is super pigmented and yet so forgiving and easy to work with at the same time. It gives me the most natural flush and lasts all day. *swoon*

Fragrances -Philosophy - Eternal Grace
rated 1 of 5
GlindaGoodWitch 9/2/2010 3:07:00 PM

I hate when people write that a particular fragrance smells like "bug spray" or "air freshener" or "my Aunt Polly at her own funeral" etc. because it has to smell good on/to someone somewhere or no one would manufacture it right? That being said, somewhere in the meeting of this fragrance & my body chemistry something went really really wrong. Top note = "What IS that?" Middle note = "Help me get it off!" Base note = "Just hack my arm off already." Fragrances are so subjective and I'm sure that the next person will say that I am a loon and that it smells like a rainbow and butterfly kisses and unicorn breath, but I felt compelled to review this because I'm a fan of the other 4 Graces (they do have their pecking order) and I have not had this type of reaction with any of them. As a matter of fact, I didn't even sniff the bottle before I spritzed my wrist. So unless your store of choice has a super liberal return policy, get your hands on a tester first. Or run the risk of smelling like my Aunt Polly. (ha ha)
