Treatments (Eye) -Beauty Without Cruelty - Green Tea Nourishing Eye Gel

Saw this at drugstore.com & the ingredients sounded great, a lot of natural stuff & great price for amount you get ($14.95 for 1 oz). This also comes in a pump dispenser so it's sanitary & easy to use. I wanted to use this during the day. When I finally got it & tried it out, it's one of the worst eye creams I've used! A little goes a long way but the dispenser always dispenses more than I need. The worst part is that it's so sticky & gummy that it never completely absorbs, even overnight! I woke w/stickiness on eye area where I had applied this! Returned it immediately!

Moisturizers -Origins - Balanced Diet

Very light watery lotion. Hydrates & smooths flakies without sticky/greasy feel. I can actually use this under sunblock b/c it's so thin. Has oil but has not broken me out.

Best mask I've used. Once rinsed off, there is no dryness, tightness or flakies. Just smooth, soft & clean skin. A little goes a long way.

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Hotpants Lip Gunk
rated 1 of 5
Girly 3/26/2002 1:38:00 PM

Got my first gunk in Hotpants cause the pink looked so pretty. UD has the best scented gloss but it ends there. Every time I've used it my lips got a burning sensation & it would last for 20-30 min, probably the strong fragrance. I did not experience the burning sensation with the lip gunk in the face case. The color is thin & the color & shine faded quickly, within an hr or 2 & I did not eat/drink anything. It looks better over an existing lip color. I guess I wanted the color to look as intense as what I saw from the tube. It was a bit sticky which I did not like but took care of that w/lip balm underneath. After 20 uses or so when I'd put the applicator back into the tube, the gunk would spill out of the tube & it was a hassle to clean. I keep hearing so many raves on them that I want to try another color but am hesitant. Hopefully they will come out w/a compact or pot form of these gunks as the ones in the face case wore so much better.

Polishes -Hard Candy - nail polish
rated 2 of 5

I gave myself a manicure w/the tester. The color is Pulp. A metallic bronzy pink gold & depending on the light, it will sometimes pick up more of one color so it looks like a totally different color. Great color but very poor quality. Good if it's just for a nite out or you change your nail polish frequently. I did not use a base coat. I applied 2 coats of color & brought my own Sally Hansen Mega Shine topcoat. It chipped w/in 12 hrs!!!! By the 2nd day so much had chipped off that it didnt even look decent anymore! L'Oreal, Revlon & Maybelline last so much longer.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Polyester Bride eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
Girly 3/26/2002 1:13:00 PM

Looks like an off white w/silver sparkles but it goes on white (at least on me) & the sparkles are not concentrated. Great base & highlight shade. It's very easy to wear.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Envy

One of my fave shadows! I line with this wet & it really enhances my dark brown eyes w/o being too dark, yet it's a fun color & not a boring neutral.

Blush -Urban Decay - Paranoid [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Girly 3/26/2002 1:07:00 PM

Never thought I could wear a non-pink blush! With what I had previously tried, plums made me look old, browns looked dirty & peach turned orange on me. Paranoid is mostly tan with a hint of peach/pink & subtle shimmer & tiny silver sparkles. It really gives a glow! The small compact is really light & portable. Expensive but worth it! Cant wait to get X next!

Eyes -Urban Decay - Cash Eyeshadow

This looked so pretty when I tested it on my hand - shimmery iridescent minty green w/tiny bright blue sparkles. When I got it home & tried it out, it just made me look washed out on my pale complexion :(

Palettes -Urban Decay - China Girl to Starlet Face Case
rated 2 of 5
Girly 3/26/2002 12:59:00 PM

I had this but returned it. All the eyeshadows are really sparkly/glittery. Twisted hardly showed up as a gold color & along with Uzi were impossible to wear w/o glitter everywhere! Oil Slick as liner paired w/Shot Gun was a good combo. The only lip color I liked was Shot Gun lip gunk. Uzi & Fur lipsticks were blah & Tart (or Gash?), the bright red one, was too red for me. The cream highlighter was difficult to blend as blush. Obviously I did not like the colors in this palette. The lip colors were also used up fast - I used the Shot Gun gunk about 5x & it was half gone! The applicators were useless. The slim/sleek compact w/large mirror is great & you get to try a lot of products for the price, although I dont like how fast the lip colors get used up. They should come out w/another Shadow Box or custom palette. The 2 looks they featured looked gorgeous on the model/singer but I could not pull it off.

Lip Liners -Urban Decay - Lip Pencils
rated 3 of 5
Girly 3/26/2002 12:44:00 PM

UD's lip pencil is the smoothest I've tried & it does not get cakey. I have Lounge & the UD site describes it as a pink/brown but I see no brown in this. It's quite a bright/hot pink. I have a knock-off, WNW 664B pencil, similiar pink color but not as intense as Lounge. I've also used Midnight Cowboy & it's described as a soft nude. IMO it's a rather dark nude brown, too dark for me. Even though I love the texture I think the color selection is poor & does not accomodate all/most of their lip colors - they are all really dark, except Lounge is kinda bright.

Lipstick -Urban Decay - Lipstick

WOW! Amazing Lipstick! I got these for their fab colors but got more than I ever imagined! They are very long lasting! I never reapply throughout the day. Just one application does it. It does fade but it fades so nicely, slowly, & evenly. No lipliner ring! What made them so amazing is that I wore Lounge lipstick yesterday & ate pizza & the lipcolor did not bleed outside my lipline like all other lipcolors I've ever used! Color faded but still looked decent. These lipsticks are also very pigmented & the color you see is the color you get on your lips, & a little goes a long way. They go on creamy & lightweight, not drying. I also love the shimmer, glitter & sparkles - really gives a multi-dimensional look w/o gloss. Packaging is very sturdy & compact but a bit heavy. Price is quite cheap compared to most other high end brands. I have these in Lounge (creamy red brown) SWF (very sheer palest pink w/silver sparkles) X (sheer cool rose w/light gold shimmer, gold shimmer shows up as gold sheen) Scratch (sheer shimmery light peach w/hint of pink & silver sparkles) Burn Out (bright hot pink w/gold shimmer & lots of silver glitter) Chopper (sheer/medium light bronze w/lots of glitter) Cant wait to get more! Next is Big Bang!

Sunscreen -DDF - Organic Sunblock Spf 30 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Girly 1/7/2002 8:08:00 AM

This is the best sunblock I've used! The active ingredients are micronized titanium dioxide & micronized zinc oxide. And there's a bunch of antioxidants for backup protection. It gives a smooth velvety semi-matte finish, not greasy. I can use this around my eyes & it doesn't sting or burn or run into my eyes later in the day. Been using this for a month & hasn't caused any breakouts. The only drawback is it does leave a slightly whitish tint so you'd have to apply on your neck also to even out your skin tone, or else wear a scarf or turtleneck. Great for normal/oily/combo skins. Drier skins may need a moisturizer with this.

Foundations -Shiseido - Sun Block Compact SPF 32
rated 5 of 5
Girly 1/7/2002 7:27:00 AM

I love the packaging & the usual colors of this compact - turquoise with orange accent. There's a separate compartment for the applicator so your powder stays clean. I don't like how the sponge works, seems like I'm not really depositing the powder, rather I'm wiping off what's already on my face (I've only tried this dry, & have never used it wet). A little dusting of this with a brush gives good coverage & really evens out my complexion & it's long-lasting. The added spf protection on top of my lotion sunblock is extra insurance. The drawback is that it does emphasize any flakiness you have. Even though there's oil in the ingredients list it hasn't caused any breakouts. It also looks a lot darker than it applies, I'm guessing it's the titanium dioxide. This powder makes my complexion look smooth & polished in an instant! Would highly recommend this if you're not prone to flakiness.

Eyeliner -Clinique - Quickliner for Eyes
rated 5 of 5
Girly 11/15/2001 5:05:00 PM

I have this True Khaki, Violet & Smokey Brown. I always go back to the Smokey Brown because it really brings out my dark brown eyes & pale complexion. It applies very smoothly & doesn't hurt. The blender on the other end is very convenient but it does make the pencil really long & it doesn't fit in most makeup bags. Glad to see their color selection has increased. It's pricey but worth it.
