Lipstick -Le Metier de Beaute - Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick - Kona
Gingerbelle8 3/15/2013 10:01:00 PM
Oh my goodness!! I really love the formula and tint of this lipstick. if you're having problems finding a dark vampy lip colour this will end your search! In person it is a dark rich violet red. In pictures it appears lighter but so sexy!! Currently it is my favourite lipstick shade. It stains well so it doesn't come off after eating or drinking, but it doesn't stain so bad making it impossible to remove. It is easily removed at the end of the day but stays put. love it!! Best $32 spent!!

Moisturizers -La Mer - Moisturizing Lotion
Gingerbelle8 3/15/2013 7:27:00 PM
I've purchased this product probably 2 or 3 times. Sometimes I want a change and get the original Creme de La Mer but that's too rich during the summer. I started using the lighter version of the moisturizing cream and feel that clogged my pores and gave me little blemishes. I never got any major pimples from La Mer products ever. In fact it has improved my acne. Anyway back to the moisturizing lotion. I wanted to try different brands over the last year because my son misplaced a quarter used jar of my original La Mer. being the product junky I am I tried numerous others from the $450 Amorepacific Time Response Gel Cream to Luzern Creme Luxe from a spa in LA. I gave up because nothing was improving my skin, or rather it was making it worse. So a few days ago I pulled out some samples of this I got from purchasing the La Mer Concentrate and within a day or two my skin was already improving. I don't know why it is but my skin is more moisturized without feeling oily. I do not get pimples from using it. I get pimples really easily from anything that has "beneficial" ingredients in it. OK so La Mer gets major criticism from industry professionals because they use petrolatum in it and parabens, etc etc etc...but it works for me!!!!! I know it doesn't work for everyone but for some reason it really heals my acne prone skin! My scars and scabs heal up better and so fast it is hard to believe. I've tried all the La Mer moisturizers except the oil reducing one. The lotion is best suited for my combination skin. The Gel Creme doesn't feel moisturizing enough. I'm almost out of my lotion samples so I will have to hit the La Mer counter soon!!

Lipstick -Le Metier de Beaute - Color Core Lipstick - Uma Paro
Gingerbelle8 3/5/2013 12:05:00 AM
Best lipstick I've ever had. I love the color and richness of this moisturizing lipstick. $32 for a tube is not cheap but it is very much worth it to have the hardest deep pink violet shade to find. My lips do not dry out and this stuff lasts all day!!! I think this lipstick has even improved my lip dryness. I cannot say enough. I fell in love when I tried it on at the Le Métier counter. My only real issue is that the lipstick sits quite loose in the applicator so I'm so scared it'll fall off. But in that case I put some into another container and use a lip brush to apply. That's another thing with this creamy formula...it applies very bold and dark even with a lip brush!!! I never get the same coverage with MAC using that kind of application!!

Lip Gloss -Chantecaille - Brilliant Gloss in Love
Gingerbelle8 1/3/2013 5:12:00 PM
I don't know what it is about this colour. The formula should technically be the same as Charm but it isn't. It just doesn't feel the same or luxurious as Charm. I just wanted to try a different color because I just love Chantecaille's Brilliant lip gloss in Charm so I purchased Love as well. I don't really care for it. Won't purchase this colour again. I'm glad I didn't pick up Charm though. I will save it for summer and use up the rest of Love. Won't repurchase this colour again.

Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Naturally Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
Gingerbelle8 1/3/2013 4:55:00 PM
This stuff feels nice going on...BUT it doesn't do a good job removing any eye makeup. Especially not mascara!!! Also if you rub it in to try to get off as much makeup as possible it can bother your eyes so it isn't as gentle as it says. It leaves a bit of film in your eye area so you have to rinse your eyes out really well. I'll keep using until there's none left but will not repurchase. You're better off buying the Clinique eye makeup remover that you need to use with a cotton pad. At least that stuff takes off heavy duty mascara and doesn't leave a crazy film.

Palettes -BeneFit Cosmetics - Smokin' Eyes
Gingerbelle8 12/30/2012 7:24:00 PM
I really love the eyeshadow colors in this palette. Also the step by step instructions are quite helpful because I really didn't know what the heck the other products were!! I tried the pink wax and I find it doesn't really show up very well. The brow wax is quite handy if you don't want to bring extra products while traveling. Overall, a great palette with flattering colors! I don't do black smokey eyes well with my olive skin tone. I just look dead. I always try to do dark brown smokey eyes because it works better with olive skin tones. This one's a good one. Perfect for travel!!

Treatments (Eye) -BeneFit Cosmetics - Ooh la lift!
Gingerbelle8 12/30/2012 7:20:00 PM
Aww I feel so jipped!! I tested this out on my hand and really liked the effect so I bought it. I tried it under my eyes and I can't see a difference or anything at all!! It is way too translucent!! It may work better if you don't wear concealer under the eyes...I dunno. But it sucks...maybe I'll try it as an under brow highlighter and see if it works any better. But as an under eye brightener, nope!!!!

Styling Products -Aveda - Be Curly Curl Enhancer
Gingerbelle8 12/30/2012 7:13:00 PM
I like this as a pre styler. It isn't as heavy as my normal curling cream (Morrocan Oil curl cream) so I don't use as much. It doesn't smell as strong either. I like switching products up and this is a nice change. It may not work as well as their curl cream for really frizzy curly hair though.

Conditioner -Aveda - Be Curly Conditioner
Gingerbelle8 12/30/2012 7:11:00 PM
I really love this conditioner. It is perfect for my permed hair. It moisturizes just enough without weighing it down. I highly recommend it for naturally curly, frizzy hair that needs that extra oompf to help the curls come out smooth and beautiful.

Shampoo -Aveda - Be Curly Shampoo
Gingerbelle8 12/30/2012 7:09:00 PM
I have a perm and needed a shampoo for curly hair. Curly hair products work specifically to to moisturize and bring out the curl without frizziness. Not only does this shampoo moisturize the hair I found that I had way less hair fall out!!! No joke. Normally I would be pulling out so many strands of hair after each shampoo that I'd be so choked because my hair is thinning!! I really enjoy using this shampoo in the shower. The smell is gentle and very Aveda-like.

Masks -Boscia - Bright White Mask
Gingerbelle8 12/30/2012 7:02:00 PM
I just saw this featured at Sephora and thought, what the heck? Threw it into my basket full of other cosmetics. It's fun to use and all, but as a brightening effect, NADA!! Did it make my skin nicer? Probably not. I think I will try their black mask later on. There are much better masks out there for cheaper that'll probably do a much better job. In the meantime I'll just finish the rest of what's left in this tube. It doesn't take much to use a lot because if you don't lay it on thick enough it becomes very difficult to peel off completely. Would not repurchase again.

Lotions/ Creams -Kate Somerville - Nourish Body Cream
Gingerbelle8 12/30/2012 6:58:00 PM
Although this isn't the best body cream I've ever used, I just love the scent!! I purchased another one because I wanted to use a $20 off Sephora offer with a purchase of $50 or more. I didn't realize this was $55CDN though!! Yikes!!! Honestly, it doesn't really moisturize that well. It absorbs but my skin still feels tight and dry afterwards. I still find the Body Shop body butters more moisturizing and much cheaper too! Oh well...this is probably more fit for summer time when you don't need a lot of extra moisture. I have a new tube in the box sitting there now, but maybe I'll just keep it until summer comes and just use my Body Shop body butters instead.

Toners -Kate Somerville - Clarifying Treatment Toner
Gingerbelle8 12/30/2012 6:53:00 PM
As a toner it doesn't really do much. I have used many many toners and needed one to help alleviate clogged pores and clear my skin. This one is mediocre at best. I love the packaging though. It makes it so much easier to dispense onto a cotton pad. I will keep the rest of the toner and use it up and then refill it with something else. (I may just end up going back to my much beloved Shu Uemura toner in the red container.)

Moisturizers -Boscia - Restorative Night Moisture Cream
Gingerbelle8 12/30/2012 6:36:00 PM
I'm only using a small sample from a VIB sample giveaway from Sephora. It's small but I've been able to use it for about 5 nights because you really don't need a whole lot, especially if you're an avid toner use like myself. (I always wash, tone, serum, eye cream, then moisturize as my last step.) I have tried other Boscia products a few years ago because I was looking into safer cosmetics alternatives. I wasn't wowed by them so I never looked back. I decided to start using up my miscellaneous samples I had stashed away because I just wasn't liking the current creams I was using (Amorepacific Time Response gel creme, La Mer, Clinique...) They were likely causing my skin to become congested and I was finding I had more blackheads and blemishes on my cheeks. I tried this creme and I really love the texture. My skin is so dehydrated in the winter and I needed something heavier but not overly rich or it would aggravate my pores and cause me to break out or have clogged pores. My skin felt softer the next day and moisturized. I like that it is unscented because Amorepacific was giving me a headache from the strong scent. Eww!! I think my next trip to Sephora will be to purchase the full size jar of this. My skin is liking it. No new pimples and my nose isn't full of blackheads like it was before. Also, I find the price point to be fair for what it offers. (Amorepacific Time Response creme is $450.00USD, and this creme is $48.00USD so that's a steal for me.)

Eye Primer -NARS - Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
Gingerbelle8 12/29/2012 6:15:00 PM
I got many samples of this from Sephora from a VIB event. So many people rave about this online and I just thought for sure this would be better than UDPP....ummm nope!! It is so hard to blend into my eyelids and it even smudges itself!! WTH??? As soon as I apply it and open then close my eyes, it has already formed a smudge in my crease. And it doesn't allow nice application of eyeshadow. I found it was kinda leaving a drying effect and flaked a bit. Weird. I don't know why all the hype and positive reviews. I don't even have a huge issue with creases and oilies on a normal day and found this didn't do much.
