Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Her Blooming Cheek (A Tartan Tale Holiday '10)

I have never been a fan of MAC's blush packaging, but I do love the product. Its a great fuchsia color that sheers out, (on me) to a gorgeous dolly pink cheek.
Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 100+ with Helioplex
Geekette 6/7/2010 12:37:00 PM
I love this stuff, I am very pale and would like to stay this way, this products helps me to achieve this. it smells much better than any other sunscreen I've ever tried. This is a bit hard to spread if you dot on but i have tried warming it a bit between my hands then applying and I find this aids in applying it more smoothly. Usually you can get coupons online or in Sunday papers so its really not expensive at all. I have even tried this on my face and if applied thinly its not got a very heavy feeling to it.
Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
Geekette 5/27/2010 3:20:00 AM
I hate to say it but this is a good foundation. My personal experience with it was not very good, for me the foundation separated on my skin which just goes to show how subjective foundation is. The first time I tried the dry skin formula, which honestly was too oily (or felt so) and didn't "feel" like it dried on my skin. Next I tried the combo/ oily which felt right, matched, and applied fine, until an hour when it had noticeably separated on my skin. I tried again with a moisturizer then with a primer to no avail. Needless to say this is a good foundation but simply didn't work out with my skin. The only other big negative is no pump.
Is it just a certain type of oil and sugar? Yes, do I love it, yes. its packed to the brim and tastes delicious which makes me believe it is worth the like 9? dollars i paid. scrub on and lick off and all the dead skin is gone.. now that i think about it injecting your own sloughed off skin is kinda gross, so you could wipe/ wash off your lips. excellent for matte lipstick wearers and a great easy step to prime lips for applying product. great bubblegum taste and decent glass jar screw top packaging.
Treatments -Clean & Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
Geekette 5/6/2010 3:25:00 AM
I am reviewing the Clean & Clear Advantage acne spot treatment oil free. (think this is the proper listing) About me: I never get breakouts, like ever, I used to get a pimple maybe every 2ish months but that's it. Recently I changed birth control and wow, my face didn't like it because around my chin i got a million tiny pimples all at once. Not cool. I was at walmart picking up some cleaning stuff when I looked at a toaster oven and saw my scary new acne reflected, and headed over to the face goodies section. I picked this up cause the tube was kind of cool and it says "100% of people showed clearer skin in just one day" and it only cost 6ish bucks.. why not. Next morning I washed face and put a thin layer of this stuff on the acney spot (its semi runny with a cloudy clear look) went out and forgot about it, the next morning after shower time I was amazed cause, well the redness was gone and wow.. the things were actually shrinking. To my amazement this s*** works! I only had to apply 2 times (once in morning for two days[ I was cautious because I am allergic to EVERYTHING under the sun, 1-3 times daily is in directions) and my bumpies are visibly gone, if i feel where they were i can notice subtle texture differences(3 days later) but this stuff really helped me!
This mascara is a piece o crap. I tried it because, well I usually try any mascara that claims to be awesome. 1 it does not do much for my lashes 2 i hate the brush, it promotes clumps 3 it smears everywhere on hot days I have a friend who swears by this, too bad its always all over her face. Stupidity aside its really not worth the 19$ it costs now as really, and I hate to say it, there are much better DS mascaras.
For the love of god, RESIST THE PACKAGE I have hated all of the lash blasts. My lashes are not built for it. My lashes are naturally pretty thick and long. For me this took quite a while to dry, and after probably 10 minutes i noticed my eye kind of sticking closed a bit when the bottom lashes (naked) met the top lashes (lb fusion) ..ew. But I am getting ahead of myself. does it look okay. yeah, okay, nothing special. Look: The results for me are the same as if I put volume lb and length lb on. too bad they both work horribly for me. so the look of it is mediocre, kinda longer, kinda fatter. Feels: some what crunchy, and I did already (1 hr on) have to fish a flake out of my eye. Smells: My tube is pretty chemically.. but hey.. its purple right! Same huge wand, clumps at the end, we all know this. Bottom line, if lashblast volume worked for you, this will probably be great for you.
It's pretty trendy to hate cover girl right now, but I tried this anyway. It does what it says, gives length. It also separates very well. I don't understand the reviews that complain that its not volumizing. if you want volume, get the volume one. Anyway for me it lengthens and separates and does not clump. With most mascaras, if you see that its starting to clump, check the texture and smell, if it does not appear to have gone bad, wipe off the mascara wand with a tissue and try again, this should aid in eliminating stuff that has been on the wand and dried a bit creating clumps.
I got a sample of this to try because a lot of MAC lip products cause allergic reactions for me. I will not be buying it, not because it broke me out, but because its crap. In order to get any sort of color pay off at all you need to wear a thicker layer. and if you wear a thicker layer it feels like you've got gloppy lips. Maybe the others are more pigmented, but no color at all shows up with this one on my lips. If you are going to spend this much on gloss of this type head over to Nars.
Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes Night Calming
Geekette 2/15/2010 10:57:00 PM
I didn't love these, I usually use the cheapo equate walmart wipes that come in a hard package or refills, i believe they are a ponds dupe. Anyway with no local walmart I picked these up at CVS, cost like 8 bucks. Smells good, quality cloths, but on me they left a bit of oily substance. And it took a while to get mascara off. Next day i woke up with a small break out, 3 small but there hard bumps around my eyes. Not cool, can work, but I would strongly advise rinsing after use.
From a usage perspective this is meh for me, I don't notice that much of a difference because I use a Mr pumice every other day which is my preferred method of foot grossness removal. From a health perspective I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Transference between germs from feet to carpet then pedegg to foot is not cool. Also.. because it is essentially a cheese grater it can cause small cuts that may go unnoticed. Double ew. Floor germs/open wounds= not cool.
Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner Deepest Black

This is every thing I wish UD Zero was only 3x better while 3x cheaper. Costs roughly 5-6 bucks here, is creamy dark and stays for quite a long time.
Skincare - Body -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Formula with vitamin E-Swivel Stick
Geekette 11/16/2009 12:45:00 AM
I LOVE this as a lip balm. I have never used it on my scars but if it does work, that is mega awesome too. My friend rec'd this and it leaves my lips mega soft and is great when blotted once as a base for matte or drying l/s's. I could go for less scent but its just the coco butter formulation. And because its chubby it lasts forever as a lipbalm for me, and I use it, a lot. Retails for around 5 bucks I believe, available at your CVS, Walgreen, Rite Aid, Duane Reade type shops, usually with the moisturizer and palmers lotion. If you have chapped winter lips this is def worth a try.
Lipstick -Givenchy - Absolutely Irresistable Red 39
Geekette 11/16/2009 12:40:00 AM
I love givenchy products but this was a let down. I read a lot of reviews saying that this is an awesome product and ran out and got it as I love red lipsticks. This however didn't seem very lipsticky to me. It is marketed as a satin but I would say it is more of a luster or glaze, there is moderate pigmentation and glitter but if worn alone is nearly identical to their gloss interdit 12 in rogue something. and for the $27 USD that this retails for it is not worth it to me to own both. It is also worth noting that this is a limited edition product. It is a fairly neutral red and looks nice on most skin types I can imagine. I simply wish there was more pigmentation. EDIT: kinda changed my mind on this, though it is less pigmented it kind of helps to serve for me as an every day type of red. Really good for someone who wears mattes all the time and lips have kinda having a dry day. It is more forgiving than the red mattes that I generally wear and is great for a red wearer who doesn't have the time to moisturize, conceal, powder, line, lipbrush on, and clean up edges.
Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner - Tattle Tale
Geekette 11/7/2009 8:29:00 PM
I love this color as a base or just wash of color, it is as said, butter cream type color. Can be layered for more frosty pale yellowy white color. Has always blended and applied fine for me, has a slight cake frosting smell, which may bother some people. But as suggested t his does not crease. It would appear that the negative reviewers can't color match or just have problems with application.
