Moisturizers -Simple - Light Moisturiser

I was glad to try a product that was "Simple", and highly rated. Unfortunately, for the first time in my life, it caused a crusty, swollen rash and a trip to the dermatologist. I had been on antibiotics the week before, so thought after I got over the rash I would try it again, to be sure it was the cause. Sure enough, I was itching so bad I had to get up in the middle of the night and wash my face and put on the cortesone ointment the doctor had given me to ease the pain. Wish I knew what the ingredient was that causes this, because I never get rashes from anything. I am a middle aged woman, so well past the acne stage.

Nails -Unlisted Brand - Red Carpet Manicure System

I purchased the Red Carpet Manicure system at Ulta a few months ago. It is a great product. Instructions are easy to follow. I have also purchased the Sensationail system from Walmart, which is less money and comes with the LED light. I believe the light was a seperate purchase with the Red Carpet system. There is a great selection of colors with the Red Carpet system. I have also discovered that you can "mix" product lines.I am using my Red Carpet base and topcoat, but have bought Gelish online. Ebay is a great source for gel polish. You can get a 1/2 oz. bottle of Gelish for $12.95. Red Carpet Manicure polish is about the same price for a 1/4 oz. bottle. All in all, I would say Red Carpet is a great gel nail system, but the Sensationail system is a better value. I have seen it in CVS and Walmart.

Polishes -Nailene - Sensationail Color Gel Polish
rated 5 of 5

I purchased the Sensationail system at Walmart, mainly because for $49 you got the complete system, including the LED light.; From what I have read, the LED is safer for the skin than the UV light. Also, the LED light is usually much more expensive than the whole kit was. The instructions are easy to understand. The materials are easy to use. The light has a nice feature, a 30 second beep, since the base and topcoats only need 30 secs., vs the 60 secs. for the color polish. I also own the Red Carpet Manicure System, and bought this one to get another light. It is a great system, also. All of my life I have had at least one broken nail at any given time. Now I have beautiful, strong nails. I even get compliments from strangers. Today when I was getting a tea from Steak and Shake, the girl in the drive thru complimented my nails, and asked if they were real! Removal is easy. You saturate a cotton pad with acetone, wrap in aluminum foil, wait 10 minutes, and then just gently scrape off the polish with an orangewood sick. Easy as can be. My biggest challenge is wanting to change colors before two weeks are up. It's probably best for your nails to wait at least a week. I get sick of the same color. I have discovered you can use regular nail polish over your gel nails for a quickie change, then use non acetone remover, and your gel nails are good as new! Why pay $20-35 to have someone do your gels when it is so easy.

Crème -Signature Club A - Caviar Foundation Stick
rated 5 of 5
Fundyfran 2/9/2011 9:51:00 PM

This stuff wears like iron. I had read some good reviews on the HSN website, about great coverage and smoothness, so thought I would try the Caviar foundation stick. I love stick foundation, and they are harder and harder to find. Both Estee Lauder and Clinique have stopped making them. This one is supberb. I had my doubts, as the texture is rather fluffy for a stick, but once applied it smoothes out beautifully and wears all day until you take it off. This is a great product, but a hassle to buy, since you need to order it from HSN or perhaps find it on Ebay. Wish other manufacturers would "get on the stick"!!!

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Zotos Age Beautiful Anti-Aging Permanent Hair Color
rated 5 of 5
Fundyfran 8/23/2010 1:35:00 PM

Age Beautiful Hair Color by Zotos (available at Sallys) is the best hair color I have ever used. I have been coloring my hair forever, and the condition is rather dry, even though I take good care and use good products. First, the color is beautiful and true. I often get a brassy result, even with neutrals, (used 9N, light blonde). I got a rich, realistic color that I am thrilled with. No brass at all. Secondly, the condition of my hair improved from the coloring! It feels healthier already! I did my hair 2 weeks ago, and it looks like new. I can't rave about this product enough. Hope they never stop making it, as I am hooked for life.
