Primer/ Corrector -Clinique - Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 1:07:00 PM
Hm, I use it every day, but I am not totally convinced. To be honest, this is the 3rd or 4th time I am getting it, mainly because compared to other primers (Laura Mercier etc) it's cheaper. I am also not sure if I want to give big money for another primer, only to discover it's worse that this one... It does make your makeup stay in place for much longer. I use it with ELDW and it lasts all day, with the ELDW BB cream is great too, but I started noticing some clogged pores every now and again and I have a feeling it's from this...As for minimizing pores, I am not too convinced: Skin appears smoother at first, but as the time goes by, the effect doesn't seem to last. I am only using it for making my makeup last longer, and will probably repurcahse in the absence of something better I guess...

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 12:54:00 PM
Well, as another reviewer said, buy the travel pack first before you get full size stuff. I went for 4 as my skin is extremely oily. The liquid soap does not work for me - it makes my skin more oily, so I replaced it with the bar soap from the blemish 3 step, which worked much better. The toner is not very impressive - in fact, it clogged my pores, and broke me out. My skin seemed irritated all the time. I was using it for more than 1 year - I have to say, I loved the way the DDML felt as it made my skin baby soft. Unfortunately, using the 3 step every day broke me out - I used to get a few spots all the time, and I am pretty sure the toner was the problem...I have tried using soap and DDML only, but it doesn't seem to sink in my skin without the toner underneath and felt oily. It was only after I changed to Avene's products that my skin found its balance. I also used to get some weird little pimples on my forehear for some reason and they were a bit of a pain to get rid of. As for oil control, it was ok but not great. Frankly, I had to buy another product (Avene) and leave the 3 step in the middle...Overpriced for what it is and what it does - there are much better products out there that work by far much better than the 3 step. Try it first before you buy, especially if you have sensitive skin like me...

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 12:42:00 PM
Yeap, it doesn't surprise me this has some of the best reviews around! I was looking for a primer for my eyes - I have very oily skin and nothing stays (whether we are talking about foundation, blusher or eye shadow it makes no difference...) unless I use a primer. Eye shadows seem to disappear after a few hours... So I decided to have a go at this one after seeing the reviews here. When I use this, they last all day and I mean, seriously, ALL DAY. I do my makeup at 7.00 every morning, and if I come back at 8 that night, my eye shadow will look as if I just applied it! The tube also lasts ages - I have mine since last year or something and it's still not over. I will definitely buy this again, I can't imagine me using eye shadow without this frankly!

Foundations -Nuxe - Teint Prodigieux

I bought this after the summer when my skin was nice and tanned. I went for 'Golden radiance' and it really looked fab. I absolytely adore it! My skin is extremely oily and acne-prone, and despite using it on top of my normal moisturiser, it actually did not make me oily at all. I usually use powder on top (Clinique's blended face powder in invisible blend seems to work really good). I absolutely love the glow it gives me! If you need a summery light moisturiser, this is the best by far.

Moisturizers -Avene - skin recovery cream (US name: cream for intolerant skin)
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 12:19:00 PM
I have very sensitive, very oily acne-prone skin and almost everything seems to break me out, apart from Avene's products. No matter what I use from this brand, it seems to calm my skin. I bought this during a very cold British winter, and during an even colder Christmas in Scotland. My acne was getting a bit funny too - I had one or two spots and I am pretty sure one of the makeup stuff I was using at the time broke me out - so I thought I should give this a go. Wow! My skin calmed down within a couple of days. Though it looks heavier than the usual creams I use for my oily face, it is absorbed immediately and leaves no oily residue behind - it's also excellent under makeup. I originally bought it to wear it only when the weather is very cold, but I ended up using it every day! If your skin needs some TLC, don't think about it twice! It's one of these products that make you feel 'aaah' when you use it, you know that feeling? :-) Amazing product and will buy again.

BB Cream -Estee Lauder - Daywear BB Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Creme SPF 35
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 12:11:00 PM
Hm, not sure about this one. I went to a Mac shop to buy their BB crea, and the SA told me that the colours they have at the moment are way to ashy for my NC35 skin. She recommended EL's instead, so off I went. I got mine in Medium as the other colour seemed too light. It's not too bad, it's slightly dark, but it actually adapts a bit more - I also use a bit of Vichy's dermablend powder and makes it a bit more like an NC35, but not quite. Apart from that, it doesn't sit on pores or lines, and it seems ok. It is however slightly too expensive for what it is and what it does (and for the fact that the colours is not exactly what it should be...) so if I can find a better one, I would probably not buy this again. It's also not great with very oily skin unless you use a primer - I use Clinique's pore minimizer one and it seems to work better with that underneath. If you can find a better colour from another brand, avoid this one, it's not worth the money.

Powder -Clinique - Almost Powder Makeup SPF 15
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 12:04:00 PM
Seriously, Clinique?? Are these colours for real skin?? I wonder... I bought this first in 3-light and 4-natural. 3 was much to light for my NC35, and 4 was an odd pinky-brown. The first made me look ashy and ill, the second made me look red. Sits on pores (and mine are huge), oil control below zero. Generally, Clinique's foundations and powders have awful colours at least for mediterranean skins like mine. Why did I ever bother - and went back for a second one?? I wish I knew...In fact, apart from the blended face powder in 'invisible', I don't think I will bother with Clinique's makeup ever again...

Treatments -Avene - Triacneal
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 11:54:00 AM
Wow, serious product for adult acne! I am 37 with very oily acne-prone skin, very sensitive to almost everything. If I use the wrong product (like Clinique's 3 step...) my skin goes berserk. I only get a spot every now and again now, and I use this cream to keep it clear. Blackheads have disappered, my skin is clear like never before, and honestly, I woulnd't be without it - it's like an emergency cream! I had used Retin A in the past, but honestly, I don't need it the last 8 years or so - and definitely not since I discovered this! Really good product for adult acne, and would never be without it!

Cleansers -Avene - Cleanance soapless gel cleanser for oily skin
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 11:48:00 AM
Amazing product. I've been using this since I was a teenager, though at some point I got a bit fed up with it for no reason (I just wanted a change I suppose...) and tried Clinique's 3 step for oily skin - crap!! It really irritated my skin, lots and lots of spots non-stop, and then I decided to go back to my beloved Avene, and it didn't disappoint: My skin was back to normal in no time, and I decided never to change again! It really costs peanuts compared to other brands, and it really feels like you are doing something good for your skin when you use it - you know, this 'aaah' feeling you get from some skincare products? :-) I absolutely adore it. If you have acne-prone skin like me, seriously, this is the brand for you. And you won't spend a fortune either!

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Foundation
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 11:43:00 AM
After being matched incorrectly to an NW (which looked extremely odd and was almost ready to give up on Mac) I finally found the NC35: Honestly, no other brand has any match for my skin better than Mac. The Prolongwear was the first makeup I got for them, and I loved it. It didn't really stay all day (which is why it got a lippy off...) but it has better staying power than most I have tried, apart from the ELDW which is the best for me. But I love the glow it gives my skin without looking oily, and I can live with a blot during the day! It also doesn't seem to sit on my pores, which is a great relief! i would probably buy again, above all for the colour match...

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
Froozygirl 3/8/2013 11:37:00 AM
YAY! Finally found the best liquid makeup for my extremely oily skin. Seriously, I wear this in the morning at 7.00 with a bit of Clinique's Pore minimizer primer, a bit of Vichy's dermablend powder on top (or, better, Clinique's blended powder), and I forget I wear it completely! And I mean, I am shiny-free ALL DAY! Honestly, this is by far the best foundation for oily skin. It doesn't sit on lines or anything, it covers my occasional spot, what more can I want?? The only perhaps problem is the colours: Whay can't EL get a leaf out of Mac's books?? Ok, they have re-formulated it and the colours are amazing, but I still can't find an exact match like with Mac (I am an NC35): I have a few of them at the moment, and I am between 4N1 (slightly dark), 3W1 (a bit ashy, thought this was the old formulation, so it could be the new one is ok...) and 4W1 (a bit too red, but looks much better during the summer when I am tanned). Vichy's dermablend powder seems to help a bit and bring the 4N1 closer to NC35 which is great. Honestly, I can't live without this thing! The best foundation EVER!

Skincare - Face -Vichy - LiftActiv HA yeux/eyes
Froozygirl 7/6/2012 2:53:00 PM
Fantastic product. Works wonders!! My little lines disappeared within a week or so, I am on my second bottle, really addicted to it!! I am not particularly mad about the packaging - I don't really get it frankly, but hey! I usually apply this after a bit of Clinique's Repairwear serum and it has made my skin super soft! Really good product, does exactly what is says, and I adore it!!

Powder -Clinique - Superbalanced powder makeup (spf 15) [DISCONTINUED]
Froozygirl 7/6/2012 2:47:00 PM
OMG Crap alert!!! I honestly don't understand how oily skin people use this thing. I have tried it again and again and it just refuses to co-operate. For starters, I was matched to Natural 4 for my NC35 skin, and it looks red if I apply too much. Worst of all, it tends to accentuate my pores - they look huge from miles. As for coverage, it's not great either - but it's a powder, what would you expect I suppose?? The brush that accompanies it is crap too - though I have to say, when I used it, it gave me more coverage than when I used a normal powder brush, so this might be the little secret. In any case, it did absolutely nothing to keep my shine-free even for an hour, and it feels more like a waste of money. When will Clinique do something about those makeup shades anyway?? They are on the pinky side, they make you look really red...Argh!! I really wanted to love this product, but I don't think it will happen any time soon...

Loose Powders -Clinique - Blended Face Powder and Brush
Froozygirl 7/6/2012 2:40:00 PM
BEST POWDER EVER. If you have extra-oily skin like me, this powder is a must. I have it in invisible blend, and it's all you need on top of whichever foundation you are using. It makes my pores completely disappear (and they are huge by the way) and keeps my make up shine free for much longer than any other powder - pressed or loose. When I feel brave enough, I wear it alone over a bit of pore minimizer (usually clinique's) and it gives an amazing glow. To avoid the mess created by the powder every time I open the cap, I use a powder puff on the sieve and a bit of tissue on top of the puff, to make sure the powder cannot escape when I close the cap. Trust me, it works! When I need heavier coverage, I use it with a powder puff, but most of the time I am using it with the little brush - I am petite, and the size of the brush feels fine to me ;-) Overall, this is one of the few products that I keep buying - I have done that 3 times so far, and it lasts for absolute ages too. Great product for oily skin, cannot live without it.
