Shampoo -Garnier - Color treated or permed hair
FranP 5/3/2005 3:50:00 AM
I used this shampoo after coloring with the Garnier Nutrise hair coloring. In the beginning It did an awesome job. Although, now that I have used it for about 2 weeks it and the matching conditioner are weighing my hair down. I think the conditioner is the culprit that is giving me pimples on my scalp....ICK!!! I will try to finish what I have left, unfortunately I got big bottles of both so it may take awhile. I will probably end up giving these to my kids to use and try something else. Beware if you buy this stuff.

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Baked Collection - Baked Sweets
FranP 5/3/2005 3:36:00 AM
I have been using these for a little over a week. I have to say, they are best applied wet. The darkest shade when wet makes an awesome eyeliner that lasts all day! I think applying wet with an easy hand is the trick. I think the actual product will last me for a long time since a little bit does the trick. I might run out of the darkest shade 1st cause I am a heavy eyeliner gal, and this shade makes my blues *POP*. I do think the packaging could be better, they should have put a couple of mini shadow brushes in there, rather than the spongey applicator. Oh well heck, that is the only down fall and it is really not a big deal. I am a huge eyeshadow user, on days doing my eyeshadow/eyemakeup may be the only thing I do, so I try to get the best stuff, but not spend too much. These are wonderful, I will be trying other ones in this baked collection.

Liquid -Almay - Almay Amazing Lasting Foundation ] [DISCONTINUED]
FranP 4/13/2005 2:35:00 PM
Well, I have used this for a few days and seems to be pretty good for me. IMO this is way better than Revlon Colorstay. This foundation does dry very fast, so when applying blend quickly after you put it on your face. I am finding that if I just put this foundation on and no powder it last even longer. Maybe the powder I am using is not that great. I was unsure of what shade to get so I got "neutral", it is okay but think I could go one shade darker and be okay. I really like the fact that this foundation has some vitamin A and E in it, not sure if the levels are enough to make a difference or not but they are still there. I really like this foundation and will buy it again but one shade darker. Try this one before Revlon Colorstay you will be sold. This foundation lets your skin breath it is not real heavy feeling like Colorstay and the coverage is awesome!

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
FranP 4/2/2005 2:15:00 PM
I think this pressed powder is okay. It is nothing special or great and the oil controlling qualities are average. The packaging is not good at all, no mirror and no puff for application. I really think that Jane's Oil-Free pressed powder is much better then this. I will finish using what I have then I will go back to the Jane Oil-Free pressed powder.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express Turbo Boost Waterproof
FranP 4/2/2005 2:10:00 PM
I really like this mascara! It does a great job at plumping up my eyelashes and lengthing them. It is rather thick so one has to be careful when applying, but most of the waterproof mascaras I have tried are thick. As far as its waterproofness, I have not cried or gotten wet with it on so I don't know. I will keep using this, unless I find that the waterproof quality is bad. For me thus far this one is a winner!

Foundations -Maybelline - 3 in 1 express makeup antishine
FranP 4/2/2005 2:05:00 PM
Well, I usually buy the Maybelline Shine-Free liquid foundation in "Golden". I thought I would give this a try, I could not find it in the "Golden" shade so I got "Natural Beige". I will say I love that it is a stick and the texture of it. The coverage was not good enough for me and this could be cause I did not get the "Golden" shade. This did not control shine very well either. I still applied some Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder over the top, and still did not get the results I wanted. I will finish using this somehow and will not buy it again.

Shampoo -Pantene - Moisture Renewal Shampoo
FranP 3/21/2005 11:15:00 AM
Well, I had high hopes for this shampoo, unfortunately it did nothing I wanted it to do for my hair! I have to say after washing my hair twice with this on several occasions in the shower my hair did not feel clean afterwards. I use barely any styling products so that cant be the reason for the poor performance of this shampoo. Secondly, I am growing my hair out and it has a perm in it from last summer, so it is rather dry at the ends and this shampoo did nothing for my dryness either. I will not buy this shampoo ever again! I bought the shampoo and conditioner in one. I have tried less expensive stuff that worked better than this crap!

Shampoo -Suave - Biobasics Shampoo
FranP 2/16/2005 2:05:00 PM
I have use both the biobasics shampoo and conditioner, the color care versions. I really like the smell, the price and they work pretty good. I have extremely dry permed and color treated hair and these work okay. I will contiue to use these but am still looking for something that is very moisturizing in the Sauve line. I am always on a tight budget and have to spend less money on cosmetic, hair care and facial care products to have $$ for other stuff.

Conditioner -Aussie - Hair Insurance Leave In Conditioner
FranP 2/16/2005 1:59:00 PM
Aussie products and I just dont go well together I guess. I have boughten the Aussie Moist shampoo and the matching conditioner and did not get good results. I figured since the moist shampoo and conditioner did not really help with my dry damaged hair that I would try the Hair Insurance Leave in Conditioner and it would have to make it all good and right. I WAS WRONG! I think this leave-in conditioner made my hair more drier than it was before I started using all of the Aussie products. I will never buy this again( or any Aussie Products) as I thought their conditioning products would be great for my very dry permed and color treated hair but did absolutely nothing for my hair.

Conditioner -Aussie - Moist Conditioner
FranP 2/16/2005 1:51:00 PM
I used this Moist Conditioner along with the Aussie Moist Shampoo and I must say for both, I love the fragrance, but it does absolutely nothing for my dry permed and color treated hair. You can get big bottles with pump dispenser for about $5.70 which is economical. I guess for both the shampoo and the conditioner if your hair is just slightly dry and or damaged it might work for you. Both the shampoo and the conditioner just are not for me!

Shampoo -Aussie - Moist Shampoo
FranP 2/16/2005 1:46:00 PM
I must say while I love the scent and the fact that you can get a big pump bottle of this for about $5.70, it did nothing for my dry color treated hair. I have given it to my kids, as I do with many shampoos that I dont like. This Moist shampoo may work for some that may have only slightly dry and or damaged hair. This one is just not for me!

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Stars Glitter Eye Shadow Pencil in STAR DUST
FranP 2/16/2005 12:10:00 PM
I got this in Twinkle and wore it with the Metallic Stars roller shadow in Twinkle and both looked fabulous. Great price for both around $7.60 at WalMart. The staying power was good too. My only complaint is that this product is a little too glittery if you over apply (which I did do when experimenting with it) a little dab will do you! When you wear this with the Twinkle Metallic Stars roller shadow in Twinkle it really intensifies the color. If you love purple and some glitter, like I do then you should try this!

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Metallic Stars Roller Shadow
FranP 2/16/2005 12:02:00 PM
I got this in Twinkle, it is a lovely shade of purple and makes my hazel eyes look great! At first I just rolled it over my eyelid and the color seemed too light, then I rolled it on my finger then patted it on my eye lid and this really intensified the color. I love this, I wore it with the Rimmel Stars glitter eye shadow pencil in Twinkle both together look fabulous. The staying power is excellent. I am completely sold! You should try this one!

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Shine Free Pressed Powder
FranP 2/14/2005 2:25:00 PM
I always come back to this pressed powder, as I try other drugstore brands and they do not work as well for me. I wear this in natural beige over Shine Free liquid foundation in the Golden shade.( See my review on Shine Free liquid foundation) This is an excellent duo for me foundation/pressed powder as it seems they work together well at keeping me oil and shine free. I am 30yrs old with very oily skin that is acne prone and wearing the Shine Free products works very well for me. I do not break out from using these products, of course I get the occasional monthly pimple or two and knowing my luck always will. I will say putting this over the top of the Shine Free foundation will give you a very nice matte finish. I only have to blot maybe 1-2 times a day too. The price is very reasonable. I say if you have oily skin, give it a whirl!

Liquid -Maybelline - Shine Free [DISCONTINUED]
FranP 2/14/2005 2:11:00 PM
I have tried lots of drug store brand foundations, since I am always on a tight budget and cannot afford higher end lines. I always seem to come back to Shine free in Golden. The golden shade matches my skin tone perfectly, it blends very easily, leaves a powdery matte finish, and gives me great coverage. I have very oily acne prone skin(even at 30yrs old :(!),some old acne scars as well as some broken capillaries on my right cheek and this stuff covers it all and does not feel heavy. It does a pretty good job at keeping my skin oil and shine free. I usually wear the Shine Free pressed powder in natural beige over the top and only have to blot 1-2 times through out the day. The price is also very reasonable around $5. I say give it a try you might just really like it!
