Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
FloralRed 5/6/2013 5:17:00 AM
What a tease. I really wanted this product to work for me, because my first day using it answered all of my dilemmas for foundation. It didn't accentuate any flaky patches, it moisturized my sensitive skin (burned a bit at first), and stayed on all day with its perfect dewy finish. And then, it started to clog my pores. It's a little heart breaking, since I thought I finally found my HG after digging through so many other foundations.

Eyeliner -MAC - Superslick Liquid Liner
FloralRed 5/5/2013 4:54:00 AM
Firstly, I was very intrigued by this product because I WAS looking for something that was very black. There are also metallic flecks that aren't discernible to the seeing eye which makes the color more vivid and eye popping. I definitely got what I wished for, however I realized that it was too pigmented for me and looked too harsh in comparison to what am used to (gel eyeliner). Therefore if any of you ladies are looking for an EXTREME & BOLD black, this is for you. First application was a very frustrating one. When I applied the formula onto my lids, it burned! Also the brush really sucks for eyeliner in my opinion. The tip of the brush isn't fine enough and the formula's consistency is quite watery so the formula spreads a little; I can't draw a precise flick with this because the result of the line is too thick. It's hard to fix as well because when you try to take it off with any lotion (LADIES, USE OLIVE OIL! IT SEPARATES THE PRODUCT INTO PIECES AND IS MORE GENTLE ON YOUR SKIN) you're really rubbing your skin to take it off and it flakes off instead of glides away if that makes sense. Truthfully, I had to fix my eyeliner's shape more than 5 times and normally I don't need to fix it. The price is too high. The formula irritates my skin and is too black for me. I can't create a good, precise eyeliner look with this. Will return.

Eyeliner -Essence - Gel Eyeliner
FloralRed 4/30/2013 12:22:00 AM
GREAT STUFF. Even for the price, the product itself is pretty amazing. Compare this to Maybelline's gel eyeliner and you will definitely want to choose this because not only is it cheaper but it's creamier and it's a lot less likely to transfer to the lids. The packaging isn't all that great but it still works!

Liquid -Clinique - Supermoisture Makeup
FloralRed 4/30/2013 12:13:00 AM
I bought this product because I was in need of a good coverage foundation, and also to try something different because I always used to stick with powders for the safety of not breaking out, as my skin tends to do with liquids. I was skeptical, because most liquid foundations leaves a dewy look on me and causes acne, and also because lately my skin has been very troublesome and disturbed. I don't know what's causing it, but I have dry skin if I don't put enough moisturizer (I put like 2 layers on), I'm breaking out, my skin gets itchy, it's flaky... Yeah it's super annoying, and my skin used to look real good too! Anywho, the lady at the counter put it on the left half of my face and I was truthfully somewhat surprised. It didn't irritate my sensitive skin; there was no burning sensation and it didn't disrupt my flaky skin. It felt calm and just normal. The shade was PERFECT on my skin. It had pretty good coverage. Maybe a little too much for me but it was needed since I have all these stupid pimples everywhere. Feels a little heavier than my bare minerals ready foundation but for the look it gave me I can't complain; covered the redness in my acne and made my skin look still like skin. Since I haven't exfoliated in a while when I tried this I will do another update in a day or two after I apply my foundation on top of exfoliated skin. Some flakiness was accentuated with this foundation, but after fixing it with my MAC setting spray it looked better. I actually really like the packaging, I don't know why. It's really simple, comes in a small tube and a mirrored cap. It looks chic and professional. The price is really expensive, but I can't really use drug store brands because I don't trust them on my skin. All and all I can say that I am impressed with this foundation, gives good coverage and a natural look. When I took it off after 8 hours of wear my pimples looked more red, like they couldn't breathe with my foundation so maybe I should limit my use on this stuff... EDIT: I'm surprised and how this stuff doesn't break me out, and it does do the job at hydrating my skin. However, it accentuates my flaky skin and my bumps. The glitter further accentuates those flaws as well. I think I can see why they added shimmer because without it it does look dull. Also I noticed that my skin just felt... uncomfortable. It felt a little heavy and I hate that feeling! One lippie down.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Professional Repair Extremely Dry Skin Lotion
FloralRed 4/13/2013 2:53:00 AM
This is some good stuff, ladies and gents. A month ago I had horrible dry skin. It was flaky, itchy, sensitive, and when I scratched my face (which was pretty often) little bumps would appear and it looked like a disaster!!! Nothing worked, Cetaphil's tub of lard didn't (just kidding about the nickname, it used to work pretty well on me actually), jojoba oil worked for a few weeks, sunblock didn't work... This stuff makes me feel like my skin was protected from the dryness within the first application. I was still itchy and boy did this stuff make my skin feel sensitive at first, but it took about 3 days for my skin to feel and look better. Fast forward two weeks, my skin is repaired, no more itchiness or flakiness or bumps. Now I just need to wear this during the night vs wearing it day and night. It's sort of like my night cream, only without the title. My skin looks supple again! Yay! The only bad thing about it is that it can make your skin feel tacky, so don't put too much during the day. Make sure you apply sunscreen because this product increases the sensitivity to sun damage. EDIT: My skin is back to being disrupted. I've stopped using this lotion because I felt like it might have been clogging my emerging acne and disrupting them even more. However I can say that after using this product it definitely has repaired my skin's dryness. I know I can rely back to this good stuff when my acne clears up. This is not the causation of my acne, I believe I could have some sort of allergies mixed with hormones..

Foundations -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals Ready Foundation
FloralRed 3/24/2013 12:40:00 AM
This is some good stuff, much better than BM's loose powders. It's definitely more hydrating than their other foundations and it does what it says: provides excellent coverage without feeling like you're wearing make up. You can still tell you're wearing make up, only it's much less noticeable than other foundations or powders. It also matches my skintone perfectly, AWESOME! I apply this product with ELF's flat top powder brush and I press it onto my skin rather than buffing it around. For a dewy look, I use MAC's studio fix setting spray and it makes it look like I've applied liquid foundation or a tinted moisturizer or something. This stuff covers my redness and my acne very well. (I have minor acne here and there from time to time) Packaging is sleek, I love how it doesn't feel like plastic and has sort of a rubbery texture to it.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner - Blackest Black
FloralRed 3/23/2013 7:13:00 PM
Pros: Product glides on well, it's creamy, has great consistency, and the packaging is cute and professional. Cons: Not as black as I would like it to be, transfers to my upper lids within 1.5+ hours, and it's somewhat pricey for something that transfers. If I apply to my lower lid it melts and disappears from my waterline within 3 hours or more. If you want a cheaper gel eyeliner that has longer staying power, try Essence's gel eyeliner. I have yet to try it but I have heard great, great things about it.

Lipstick -NYX - Snow White
FloralRed 3/16/2013 10:45:00 PM
The less you put on, the brighter and more vivid the color looks. The heavier you apply it, the more brown and dark it looks, like "dried blood" as someone mentioned down below. Color pay off is good, it's matte, and it goes on well. The lipstick is a bit drying so be sure to put a bit of lip balm. It tastes like soap which is VERY unpleasant when I'm drinking or eating or simply when I accidentally lick my lips. Imagine licking a bar of soap, cause that's what it tastes like. It's got good lasting power, but not when you accidentally rub your lips with food, a straw, fingers, etc... I did eat something somewhat greasy, but it was more like soupy not grease. The color washed straight away and left a weird, block-type contrast of no lipstick in the inner part of my lips compared to the outer part of my lips. I never ever care about lipstick smells, but this one smells.. weird, it smells very chemically.

Eyeliner -New York Color - High Definition Liquid Eyeliner extra black
FloralRed 2/3/2013 11:40:00 PM
This stuff is average, I've given it three lippies because of the price. It's a pain to apply though, especially if you've used an eyeliner that delivered fluid, dark color. This one does the opposite. I have to use the side of the pen to apply it because using the tip wouldn't give much color. Application takes a lot of going over, because the color sucks! It hardly goes on and when it does it's more like a black watercolor that fades to grey. This is fine for beginners, like for young girls who are just starting out. Reason why I say this is because it's easy to wipe off with your fingers, meaning you can fix any cat eye that you feel is uneven. For me, that means that I can use this pen to first draw on the shape of the cat eye I want, and then go over it with a darker (better) liquid liner.

Lipstick -Lancome - Rouge in Love
FloralRed 1/3/2013 4:42:00 AM
Great stuff!! I fell in LOVE with this product at first application. It went on smooth, meaning it glided on my lips and left an almost silky feel when I pressed my lips together. First layer of lipstick is a very even coverage, light, has a sheen, and is very comfortable wear. Second layer the color became extra vibrant (I have Violette Coquette), and I needed to blot because I felt that no blotting would result in almost like a lip gloss look. After pressing my lips together and ensuring that there wasn't any lipstick outside of my lips, I gave myself a final few blots with the lip bullet. I was STUNNED. Never have I used any lipstick before that was so easy to get a professional finish. Nothing like MAC where the lipstick looks so heavy, but Lancome's Rouge in Love looks light and the color is a wow factor. Plus, the color stays. Like I said there was even coverage without fuss, the color was extraordinary, and it didn't feel heavy at all, and that's one of the biggest things I look for in make up! This lipstick has absolutely bumped up my expectations when purchasing lipsticks in the future. I will definitely buy another.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
FloralRed 1/3/2013 4:34:00 AM
Gave this a 2, because the face wash was mediocre for me. No lather, you don't need water either. The directions says to apply it to the face, massage, and wipe off with a cloth or towel. You can use water, but that's after you've applied it to the face. I find this very strange, because almost every night I take off my make up with olive oil, and using an oily make up remover WITH this cleanser is just... gross. Even if I take off the olive oil, I don't feel that the cleanser fully cleanses my face. After using this for 3 days my face got little bumps in my T-zone, and I never get any bad reactions from "gentle" facial cleansers. If I didn't get bumps, I would give it a 3 because it's a whatever face wash. Like how it added extra moisture but hey that's what moisturizer is for. I'm sure this works wonders on other people, but not so much for me.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
FloralRed 12/29/2012 1:40:00 AM
This is some good stuff! Who would have thought that proper moisturizing would help acne? ... or at least I didn't. I always moisturize, but the products that I was using didn't seem to help. I bought this because I heard that it's a very effective moisturizer, even if it says for this or that skin type. Before I used this, my skin was going through hell. I moved about an hour away from my hometown to college, and my college is located near the beach so it's very humid there! For whatever reason my skin turned into combo skin. It was dry, flaky-feeling when you touched it, and it was very oily at the same time. I'm guessing because of the weird irritation, my skin started breaking out. After using this cream under SPF during the day and my night cream before bed my skin turned normal! It was amazing! Pimples reduced by a lot, and my skin looked supple and just moisturized. I also go back home sometimes on the weekend, and my hometown's climate is pretty dry, and this stuff still does the job. Cetaphil's Moisturizing Cream saves my skin in any climate. :) I wish this came in a pump, because I always get a little grossed out when I have to keep touching what's already in the tub, but nothing bad has happened to my skin so I don't see any further problems. The tub is giant, so it's well worth the price. I haven't used this on the body yet, just the face.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lipstick
FloralRed 5/4/2012 10:09:00 AM
It's a good lipstick, sufficient enough to not have 3 lippies. At first application you get a very sheer coverage, but you can build it up by blotting with a tissue and reapplying. The consistency feels like a chapstick and has a pretty gloss over it. Color goes on smooth and even. However, the downside of having such a creamy formula is the effect of having it "slip and slide" if you're to smack your lips together so be sure to blot a little if you want to keep it in place more effectively. It isn't long lasting so I do find myself having to retouch about every hour or two, but at least I don't get that dry feeling on my lips!

Tinted Moisturizer -Cargo - tinted moisturizer spf 20
FloralRed 5/2/2012 6:57:00 PM
I went to the ULTA store today to buy foundation for prom, but I ended up buying this instead. :P I wanted something that was of medium build and gave me flawless coverage. This is tinted moisturizer, so if you want coverage don't expect it from this stuff! It's the opposite of what I intending to buy. I applied the TM with a sponge, dotted a bit here and there on my face, used a dabbing+blending, circular motion. Concealer would be best after application of this TM. At first I was not impressed, because I am used to using Bare Mineral's powder foundation, and this felt a bit too greasy for me. However after it set and finished my skin looked more even, much healthier, and it did eliminate some redness on my cheek (wasn't severe). I have good skin, so this is not for those with blemishes! 2 hours later I decided to set it with MAC's Skinfinish Natural powder and it looked very good. I can't wear BB cream because it clogs my pores like a mother, but the Skinfinish on top gave me the same (if not, better) look of a BB cream. Ultimately, my skin looked fresh, healthy, dewy, and it wasn't oily looking. Felt a bit heavier vs. my BM powder but I don't mind because my skin looks way better. Pluses are that it has SPF 20, has no chemicals, oil-free, paraben free, and has ginseng root, ginkgo biloba leaf, anthemis nobilis flower, and camellia oleifera leaf extract! Wooooo hooooo! I will be updating if it makes me break out or have bumps! EDIT: After a couple of weeks of trying this, I realize that my skin has been looking more clogged after a little less than a week of use, so I am careful to alternate between my BM powder and this TM. I still have "hormonal" skin so who knows when I will have a break out, but this stuff for sure promotes them a bit because of the excess oil that is on my skin. I will most likely be purchasing this in the winter, because it is hydrating.

BB Cream -MISSHA - M Perfect Cover BB Cream
FloralRed 2/2/2012 4:36:00 PM
People, do not buy this product!! When I first used the product, I felt SO beautiful. It gave me a soft finish, and my skin looked incredibly natural and healthy. There was a glow to my skin! After a few days of using it, I noticed that I started getting little bumps, and when I removed my make up my pores looked a little dark and clogged, but I shrugged it away thinking that it was my hormones. Last day of using it, probably the 7th, pimples pimples pimples rashes here rashes there... It was disgusting!! I used to have nice skin before using this product, and now it looks just gross.
