Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto

I love this mascara! Wasn't really sure what to expect from it and was really pleasantly surprised. In my opinion, it is just as good as other far more expensive brands. It lengthens lashes really well, gives lashes a nice luster and sheen and does not ever smudge. It is also super easy to remove and not at all clumpy. Love it!

Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey

The color of this really is fabulous - a lovely, berry red with a nice sheen that does look good on almost everybody. I carry it in my purse and use it when my face is otherwise almost bare of make up - it really does brighten up my face. The texture is lovely - silky and sheer and although it is light and feels almost like a lipbalm, it has good staying power. The color looks much deeper in the tube than it looks once applied - it is actually pretty subtle. Only bad thing I will say is that I do tend to go through a tube pretty quickly. I don't feel like you get all that much of the product.

Treatments -Avon - Advance Techniques Dry Ends Serum
rated 4 of 5

I wouldn't say that this works miracles on my hair but it is still a nice product! It is a lot lighter than a lot of other hair serums I have used and doesn't weigh down my hair or make it greasy in any way. It works well for getting alot of the frizz out of my naturally wavy hair and also smells wonderful. It does seem to make my ends feel less dry and brittle, which they tend to sometimes be because I flat iron my hair a lot. It is also really inexpensive though I do tend to have to use more product than with more concentrated serums.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Exact Eyelights

I don't notice this product helping my eyes to 'pop' much but it is still a decent mascara. I purchased the black ruby version. The color is pretty muted. It doesn't show up that ruby tinged on my lashes - more a pretty, shimmery lighter shade of black. It doesn't clump at all though and the brush is great and evenly coats all of my lashes. It has good staying power too - never smudges and yet is also very easy to remove. I have used better eye-color enhancing mascaras (Bourjois used to make a great one. Not sure if they still do) but I still was reasonably impressed with this.

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Couleur Eyeshadow - Stylish Move 970
rated 5 of 5

Love this! This is one of my favorite eyeshadow sets ever. The colors are fabulous - highly pigmented and longlasting and extremely easy to blend. I have green/hazel eyes and this really brings out the green in them. The darker purple works really well as an eyeliner and the iridescent white shade in the center is great for a highlighter when used under the brow. It is versatile too - you can do a pretty, lighter daytime look or create a dramatic smoky eye for evening. I adore this product and I am excited to try other Dior eyeshadow quints!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 5 of 5

I'm a pretty big fan of this blush! It is fabulous to use in wintertime as it perks up my skin greatly when I am looking particularly pale and washed out. It is a fairly highly pigmented so it is best to use sparingly - otherwise you may end up looking like a clown! It looks a little intimidating at first glance but the color is not quite as deep pink and vibrant looking once applied - more of a pretty, rosy pink and much more subtle than it initially appears. It does have a bit of shimmer to it but nothing overwhelming, in my opinion. It has great staying power - lasts all day on my cheeks. The packaging is great. I recommend applying this with a larger sized brush as it can look a little stripey when applied with a smaller blush brush.

Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios SPF 15 water-resistant formula available in US
rated 3 of 5
Fid 4/16/2009 3:58:00 PM

I have read read wonderful things in magazines about this product but I was really not that crazy about it. For only having an spf of 15, it seems very thick and greasy. It takes a long time to absorb and make-up does not apply well over it at all. It does, however, have a pleasant fragrance and is pretty much water resistant. I usually use it before working out outside and it seems to be pretty sweatproof. I have never had any problems with it running in my eyes, which is a positive thing! This product is not cheap though and I have found far better, much less expensive sunscreens with much higher spfs at the drugstore.

Sunscreen -Colorescience - Sunforgettable SPF 30
rated 3 of 5
Fid 4/10/2009 1:13:00 PM

There are some things that I love about this product but a few things that really bother me also! I have it in All Clear - the untinted version. On the positive side, I do feel like it provides effective sun protection. It is easy to apply and small, compact and easy to carry around - it will fit in the smallest of purses so you can reapply throughout the day. I use it before I run and love the fact that, unlike many sunscreens, it is sweat resistant and won't run into my eyes when I start to perspire. On the negative side - it is refillable and the bottom portion which you remove to refill it is far too easy to remove. I have accidently opened it and spilled out and wasted all the powder inside. The bristles on the brush also bother me. They shed like crazy! I have them all over me after applying the sunscreen. Also, my skin can look very pallid and chalky after using this - not attractive! Maybe using the tinted versions would help with this?

Skincare - Body -Bath and Body Works - Warm vanilla sugar (whole line)
rated 4 of 5
Fid 4/10/2009 12:57:00 PM

I've used quite a few warm vanilla sugar products and have generally been very happy with them. The scent is really lovely! It is comforting, not at all over powering and not as cloyingly sweet as some Bath and Body Works signature collection scents. The body butter is a great product, as is the body scrub, hand cream and body lotion. I have tried other, differently scented lines from their signature collection yet always come back to warm sugar vanilla. Good value usually too - especially if they are doing their buy two, get one free promotion.

Polishes -OPI - Siberian Nights
rated 5 of 5
Fid 3/9/2009 4:41:00 PM

This is my go-to winter nail polish. I love it! The color is fabulous - a dark eggplant which looks almost black when you apply two coats and has a creamy finish with no sparkle or sheen. It is vampy and fabulous! You definitly need to apply two coats to get proper coverage but I never have any problems with chipping. I have fairly pale skin and it works with my skin tone - not sure how it would work with darker skin tones.

Polishes -OPI - Senorita Rose-alita
rated 4 of 5
Fid 3/9/2009 4:30:00 PM

This is a great summer color! It is a pretty, rosy shade of pink with a nice, fairly subtle shimmer to it. As with all OPI polishes, it has great staying power. When properly applied with basecoat and topcoat, I can get almost a week out of a manicure without any chipping. You probably do need to use two coats to get a non-streaky coverage and full effect of the color though.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Anti Wrinkle Anti Blemish Scrub
rated 3 of 5
Fid 3/5/2009 3:12:00 PM

This is a good no nonsense facial scrub! It can be a little drying though and is probably better for the summer when your skin is a little more oily. I usually use it in the shower. I massage it in and let it sit on my skin for a few minutes before rinsing off. My skin is a little on the oily side and I feel like this gives it a thorough deep cleanse - my skin is squeaky clean afterwards and I feel like it helps get rid of any blackheads on my nose. I, like other reviewers, don't find the exfoliating beads to be all that fantastic. It does have AHAs which probably provide more exfoliation than the beads? For the price it's a good product though.

Shampoo -Neutrogena - Anti-Residue Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
Fid 3/5/2009 2:58:00 PM

This is a great clarifying shampoo. I use it once a week and I really feel like it gets rid of any product build-up in my hair. It really makes my locks feel squeaky clean! For the price, it is a great product. My hair feels cleaner after using this than it has after using some much more expensive anti-residue shampoos. I am not crazy about the smell though - there is something slightly medicinal about it and I feel like the scent tends to linger even after using a nicer smelling conditioner. Also, there have been a few times when my scalp felt a little irritated after using this - felt like maybe it was a little too harsh on my skin? Overall though, I do really like it. It's a great, no frills product.

Skincare - Body -Boots - Mediterranean - Bergamot Orange & Olive Body Butter
rated 4 of 5
Fid 3/2/2009 6:59:00 PM

I actually didn't buy this for myself - my boyfriend bought it for me - but I liked it a lot. I am originally from Europe and grew up using Boots products so I was super happy when they finally became available in the US! I was pretty impressed with this. It has a clean, not at all overpowering scent and is rich without being greasy. It absorbed quickly, somewhat unusual for a body butter this rich, and left no greasy layer on my skin. For the price, it is a quality, effective product and I would certainly buy it again.

Scrubs -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Perfumed Hot Salt Scrub
rated 4 of 5
Fid 3/2/2009 6:49:00 PM

This is a great body scrub. It didn't feel as warm on my skin as some warming scrubs do but I still like it a lot. The scent is pleasant and powdery. It does work better on dry skin, however I like to first massage it into dry skin and then moisten my hands and massage it into my skin again before I rinse it off. It makes a rich paste which seems a little less abrasive than using it on dry skin. I would suggest doing this if you have found the product to be too rough on your skin when used exactly as directed. It is not oily at all so it doesn't make your tub dangerously slick, which is definitly a good thing! The price seems reasonable for the amount you get - it is a rather large tub which lasts for quite a while. Also good for use in pedicures and on dry elbows. I would totally recommend this product. I feel like I have baby soft skin after using it.
