Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
rated 5 of 5
Fiache 5/14/2013 5:29:00 AM

I'm a NC37-NC40 depending on season. I have normal skin with fairly smooth complexion. You need to take in consideration that I like my concealers to be lighter under my eyes. I got the shade Medium and tan. Tan is the better match for me as it's darker and contains warmer pigments. The medium leans more to the neutral beige spectrum and make me look a bit ashy. Both are super pigmented and almost feel a bit like "hardened mud' when you squeeze it out. Still, its blendable and creamy. I would describe it as a mix of liquid and cream concealer in a tube. You need the tiniest little drop(can not even call it drop) to cover your blemishes and undereye area. Don't overdo it, or it'll look cakey and completely gross. The finish is matte and staying power is great due to the thickness of the concealer. It smells a bit muddy but nothing that bothers me since I can't smell it once applied on my face. As the product claims, it can cover tattoos! They only offer this concealer in 3 different shades. I'm sorry to say that darker ladies than NC42 will most probably not have any luck in this case. Packaging looks and feel cheap, but comes in a tube which makes is very hygienic and doesn't dry out. It also comes with a concealer pen which I use sometimes as a light eyeliner. Works pretty good actually! I got mine from ebay causeI live in Thailand, but US people can find this on Walmart for 6 dollars. The amount will last me a life time! I really recommend this to everyone who looks for a complete coverage concealer and doesn't want to spend a fortune!

Highlighters -TheBalm - Mary-Lou Manizer
rated 4 of 5
Fiache 4/9/2013 6:43:00 AM

If you want to shizzle, then purchase this little bad girl! Mary Lou-manizer is one amazing highlighter. You can also use it as a beautiful eyeshadow. Its buttery smooth and so so rich in pigmentation which gives the most gorgeous sheen to your face. It doesn't feel like a dry powder to the touch, more like a creamy powder. I love how it's not gritty or chunky, it's just as I wish a highlight to look and feel like! Use it with care and you'll glow like a sun godess! Don't overdo it, or you'll look like a complete goof! It's pretty long lasting, but I think a highlight always needs some kind of a touch-up at the end of the day if you are still rocking your makeup for late nights out! It's quite fragile since it's so soft and as it was broken when it was shipped to me. I am a NC37-40 and the beige champagne shimmery color suits my warm skin tone perfectly. I think it would suit most of the skin tones out there! Packaging in sturdy plastic is super cute with its retro design. Price is a bit higher for most of the The balm product but you will sure get quality for the price you pay. I adore this product and think everyone should try it out!

Eye Shadow -Sonia Kashuk - Instructional Eye on Neutral Palette
rated 4 of 5
Fiache 3/16/2013 12:26:00 AM

This palette comes in a variety of all warm matte neutral shades, ranging from light milky beige, chocolate browns, grey to black. I paid 19.99 $ for it and it's an amazing value for the 12 shadows you get. Great for starters (since it has a make-up guide on how to apply the shadows on the back of the compact with 3 different looks) but also great for professionals since it offers so many colors to play around with. It's really a day to night kinda palette. It is also multi functional which make it great to use as brow liner or eyeliner and also contouring. The colors are very natural and so easy to use. The texture is slight powdery, but nothing you can't work with and pop even more with the help of a primer. They are fairly pigmented and true to color in the pan. 1 lippy gone due to the powdery texture as I prefer smoother textures such as UD naked. One rant about the product is the packaging. It comes with a pull out case on the back of the compact where you'll find 3 pages of instructions on how to apply you eye makeup with help of this palette, hence the name "instructional". It's a lovely idea, but for me it's just a waste of space and weight. It would be so slim and pretty without the back plastic sticking out. I do think this is a must have in everyones collection. For the price you can experiment and make so many different looks as much as you want and even afford to buy a new one if this one would ever finish up (DOUBT IT). Now have fun & enjoy girls!

Tinted Moisturizer -Sonia Kashuk - Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 (tube)
rated 4 of 5
Fiache 2/1/2013 6:05:00 AM

All I can say is WOW! Tan is the prefect match for me. I use this to prep my skin before applying my Mac Pro longwear foundation in NC40. Since it's a TM I think it'll work for anyone with varm or neutral undertones between NC32-NC42. Using this first thing makes my foundation a dream to apply. It makes my skin look so healthy and luminous from within. I also set everything with my Milani multitasker powder in Light tan. It doesn't break me out and blends very easily. It has enough of pigmentation to give my face some overall even color(forehead darker then rest) and hide any small flaws or redness. The texture is lightweight but still somewhat creamy. Not runny at all which I love! And a huge + for me who lives in Thailand is the SPF 15! With this being said, I have used it alone as well with just some concealer. That works like a charm. It makes my face look very natural and not too dewy. I tried other TM but they made me break out and made my face feeling greasy. This TM sinks into the skin and makes me look healthy and fresh without any oily film laying on top of my face. The foundation scent is not so strong. Packaging is OK. It's a squeeze tube with twist off lid which makes it very hygienic and easy to control the pea size amount to use! I got it from Target for 14 dollars. It's a bit pricy I found but worth it in the end! I highly recommend this to everyone!

Scrubs -St. Ives - Green Tea Scrub
rated 5 of 5
Fiache 1/16/2013 3:04:00 AM

I have dry/normal skin. I don't break out a lot but when I do, I like to take action quickly and make sure to clean my face properly to prevent more breakouts. I live in Thailand where I drive scooter every day and imagine all the dust sticking to your face each day. And also, who doesn't love taking some extra care of their face every now and then!? I have St ives Naturally clear Blemish fighting scrub as well. I really don't like it. The beads are huge and when I used it (while I was used to use a scrub with tiny beads) it gave my face a burning sensation. It was a very unpleasant feeling. The smell is not glorious either, it has a weird smell and almost somewhat like swedish snuff(snus) If you ever smelled that you know it's gross! The smell of the Green tea scrub is OK, it's not an amazing smell but not horrible either. It feels fresh, looks fresh with the green minty color and has tiny perfect beads and most importantly densely packed! I used it first time yesterday and my face was literally glowing. I never owned a scrub where you could actually see immediate results. My face looked so fresh, clean and radiant. My boyfriend even asked me if I was sleeping with makeup?!! WOW! I love that it has salicylic acid and a little goes a long way! I found it at Guardian in Malaysia at a fairly good price...probably around 8 dollars, they cost around 5 dollars in the US! Please try out and see for yourselves. It's really an affordable, fabulous and amazing investment for your face!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Complexion Brush
rated 5 of 5
Fiache 12/22/2012 10:59:00 PM

One of my Must-have brushes in my collection. How can you beat the price of $3.60? It's just an amazing multipurpose brush. It has the prefect shape and size for what I use it for, blush and contouring. It is also great if you want to set your foundation gently with a powder. It picks up the right amount of product each time, no shedding and very gentle to my skin. The brush has a sturdy handle and it's all in black plastic. It doesn't look cheap but nothing fancy either. I highly recommend this to everyone!

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
rated 5 of 5
Fiache 12/22/2012 10:43:00 PM

HOLY GRAIL! I got asian eyelashes that are quite long for being asian. I like full, thicker and black lashes. The mascara costs $2.99 and gives me the most perfect lashes! My other HG mascara is Loreal voluminous. They do the same job except from that this one is buildable WITHOUT making clumps. I use 2 coats and I'm good to go for everyday use. Packaging doesn't look so fancy, but I don't really mind. The wand is quite small so it's easy to reach those small little hairs. It's firm and easy to work with. The tube last me for about 3 months and I basically use mascara on a daily basis. Paying only $2.99 makes me love it even more! I recommend everyone to try this. You can get natural lashes or dramatic, up to you how you apply it! Who doesn't love a bargain HOLY GRAIL?!

Concealers -Make Up Store - Cover All Mix
rated 5 of 5
Fiache 12/22/2012 5:04:00 AM

LOVE THIS! GO GET IT NOW! I really adore and love this product. You don't only get 1 concealer, you get a mix of corrector and concealers. The 3 colors are: yellow & neutral concealer and one peachy red corrector. They have all the same consistency and are so creamy, thick and SUPER pigmented. I think they only have one shade and that's "Dark". I'm a NC37-42 and it really is a prefect match for me. A little goes a long way and it lasts forever on my normal-dry skin + gives you the best coverage I've ever found in a concealer. The key is not to over-do it, cause it will look cakey and heavy if you don't use it sparingly. Regarding the previous reviews about the dryness - Warm it up with your fingers first and you're good to go! It's perfect to use it on spots and also for miscolorations under your eyes, veining in you face or any marks you want to hide! Some people might find it pricy for 265 SEK(40 dollars) but I find worth every single krona! Can be found in Sweden at Makeupstore. I had it for a couple of years to be honest and it's still going strong. I have 1/4 left of the concealers and 2/3 of the corrector. It says it lasts 10M after opening, but I've been using it on and off and it never did anything bad to my skin or changed in consistency, color or performance. I know some will think I'm gross and whatever. But it works for ME! ha... The packaging is nice and sturdy with a screw lid, I'd prefer a flip lid but I think this particular lid helps the product last longer in its packaging and stops air from seeping in! I recommend this to everyone out there. It's such a great buy and you really get value for your money. HOLY GRAIL!

Concealers -NYX - Full Coverage Concealer Jar
rated 2 of 5
Fiache 12/22/2012 4:31:00 AM

I got this for 5.50 dollars and you get 7 grams of product. That is a pretty good deal…but the concealer itself it’s not so much to rave about. I got it in the shade Beige #4 and I’m a Nc37-42 depending on season. I don’t think this concealer is pigmented enough to even out my small miscolorations under my eyes (redness and small veining). I will use this AFTER a heavy duty concealer (eg Hard candy glamoflauge or Makeup store’s Cover all mix) as a brightening effect and that’s about it. I have dry skin and even I find it to a little bit too emollient and greasy for my preference. It’s very easy to blend but in the end it blends out too sheer. And I don't like to put too much product on my face, I'd rather put smaller amounts with more pigmentation. I do not recommend this and I will not repurchase! UPDATE: It has gotten thicker by the time and not so emollient, I guess it's drying out. But still the pigmentation is not good enough for me! I still only use it as a brightener rather than a concealer under my eyes.

Powder -Milani - Minerals Compact Makeup
rated 5 of 5
Fiache 12/18/2012 4:32:00 AM

I have the Milani multitasker powder in light tan as well which I adore and love til death do us part. It cost 7.99 when I purchased it and came in 6 different shades with pink, yellow and neutral undertones.I bought this one in Honey beige cause I heard this one also would be a good match to any NC40-42 skin ladies. It is a great match, it's very yellow I would say and offers more coverage, glow and feel a bit heavier than the multitasker. Just so you know-I have fairly nice, asian, normal-dry skin and hardly never break out. I like using it alone as it's quite pigmented. It's a very soft powder and I tend to be quite careful when applying it with my flat elf powder brush otherwise it can look cakey. It feels a bit like a thin layer of potatoflour when swatched with the finger. The powder has more of a creamy feeling to it rather than dusty powders. It has a slight scent to it, not a bad smell (flowery smell) but nothing to overpowering. Those who are sensitive though might want to avoid this. It's talc-free and mineralbased. The packaging includes a under department with mirror and puff. It is so affordable and easy to use. After reading the reviews here I think this powder suits normal-dry skinned ladies than oily ladies..just a small note. Good luck trying it out! UPDATE: 14 May 2013. I use this every day now when I'm too lazy to use foundation. I put some concealer on and then put this on after with some bronzer and I'll be good to go. It gives me great coverage and a beautiful finish. A must have in my collection from now on!

Powder -Milani - Multitasker
rated 5 of 5
Fiache 11/22/2012 10:11:00 AM

HOLY F GRAIL! I am a NC37-42 depending on season. I'm a NC40 and the Milani powder in Light tan #4 is the perfect match. I think I would get away with the next shade Tan #5 as well. They offer 9 different shades with yellow, neutral and pink undertones. I paid 6,99 USD and is supposed to serve as a setter, finisher and blotter. It does contain talc which may turn people off, but personally, I don't think talc in this small doze will harm me in any way. I have normal, sometimes dry skin and live in a humid climate, on an island called Koh tao in Thailand. I have fairly nice skin and I hardly never break out (asian). First of all, I am not really a powder person. I do love experimenting with makeup to see what works for me and I was always wondering what all the hype about powders was. I like using only foundation and have some luminous finish to it...but only in Europe. So here on Koh tao I need something to keep the humidity and oils away from my face. This is where my powder and I get along so damn well. I haven't tried a lot of powders before. Only ELF pressed powder "almond" which I do love as well but is not as long lasting as Milani and doesn't colormatch as close as the Milani, and Maybelline dream matte "Honey" which did do absolutely nothing for my skin, no coverage, sheer and I couldn't notice any difference in my face after applying it. The powder has a yellow undertone and is amazingly smooth. It's some what pigmented but still sheer and lightweight and offer just such a lovely finish which makes me love using it alone without any foundation with just a tiny bit concealer. It NEVER looks cakey on me (even after touch ups) and it lasts for a good 6-8 hours before I can feel like touching up. Most importantly, it doesn't feel heavy on my face! I apply it with my Elf plat top brush and my face looks so polished and matte! Not too matte and very natural looking! It's a bit bulky since it has a under department which is meant for the velvety puff included which works pretty OK and a mirror. Don't love the puff but ok for quick touch ups. I use my puff from Elfs HD powder. The packaging doesn't look terribly cheap but feels a bit plasticy. I would love for it to be a bit sleeker. It is so affordable and I am not even considering trying out any other powders after this discovery. I will do a comparison though - to the other Milani compact foundation in "Honey beige" which I heard is good one as well. My hunt for a HG has come to an end,(and I wasn't even looking or one) which I never thought I would ever say! I'm in love!

Cleansers -Soap and Glory - The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser
rated 1 of 5
Fiache 6/16/2012 6:32:00 PM

I have dry-normal combination skin. I wanted something that would help me to remove my dry winter patches and also remove my makeup. I do NOT recommend this product to anyone. It claims to "melt away makeup". It comes in a tube of cream, when you rub it together in your hand, it dissolves a little bit into a more milky texture. The cream leaves a "film of makeup" all over my face. And I HATE that feeling! My face hasn't improved a bit after using this. I just use the cloth sometimes after I cleansed my skin with other stuff I try to use up. I don't like the strong lavender smell either, It smells like old lady. I'll stick to brands who are experts on just doing skincare rather than a mix of body, makeup and skincare etc.

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Concealer With Botafirm ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
Fiache 1/24/2012 11:58:00 AM

I had quite high expectations on this product. Many loves it for its highly pigmentation and coverage. I would recommend this for a more mature skin, I am 24 years old. I don't find the product to be more moist than any other concealers I've got, so I wouldn't go grab this just for the sake of the moisturizing effect. I found the packing looking quite cheap, but very hygienic with the small tube. I got it in medium beige, perfect for NC37, it does cover my blue/red tones right under my eyes since it has a tiny bit of peachy undertones. It's an OK product. It doesn't stay on during the whole day but I think I have a quite oily eye area. Right now I am using the 3 color wheel from Makeupstore. I so much prefer this one than the Revlon. It has more coverage and is a cream concealer rather than a liquid one. Update: I mix it together with my Hard candy glamoflauge concealer in "Medium" for added coverage and to make it a bit lighter. Works great!

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
rated 5 of 5
Fiache 12/21/2011 2:52:00 PM

VELVETY GORGEOUS! I got this primer to make my pores look less visible. I've got pretty big pores on the sides of my nose and sometimes even on my nose. When using this I can see a big difference. It fills in the pores and lines, with this most velvety moussey silky feeling, and makes my foundation flawless. It doesn't feel oily or slippery on the skin which I love and I have normal-dry skin for reference. The texture is kind of firm and not lotiony or wet. It´s more like a thick mousse paste. This make it perfect to press into those little surfaces you want to smooth out. Like a putty for your face! It has a pinkish tone to it - in the nice, sturdy glass packaging but the pink color doesn't transfer to the face. The little glass jar can make it difficult to get the product out but I use the surface of my nail to scoop some out. A little goes a long way! My makeup looks more flawless and I get a smooth canvas to work with! In Sweden it's pricy, but I got mine on a 50% sale. In the US you can get it for a stunning 10 dollars!

Eye Shadow -NYX - Trio TS33--Lake Moss
rated 2 of 5
Fiache 12/21/2011 2:47:00 PM

I bought mine in LAKE MOSS. I must say all 3 colors are quite similar and doesn't stand out. They are very pigmented, dark and shimmery. The texture is pretty smooth though but I feel It can look a bit messy, cause the colors blended together looks smoky, grey almost dirty. I will try using it with a light hand and only one color and maybe it will look good.
