Hair Color -Ion - Color Brilliance - Semi-Permanent

I just used this in light warm brown to tone down some bright highlights and wow...it did nothing. I left it on for 30 minutes and it's exactly the same. Not to mention I was rinsing my hair for 20 minutes in the shower because it wouldn't stop bleeding. I would never repurchase this; it's a waste of money and time. Others mentioned using it as a toner, but I think I will stick to actual toners, this stuff stinks and should be discontinued. So now I wait a week or so and try another to tone it down...what a waste of my resources.

Lipstick -NYX - Narcissus
rated 5 of 5
Ferrishyn 7/6/2012 11:43:00 PM

I just recieved this after deciding whether or not to take the chance on this company. I read rave reviews on NYX here, so I picked out a few colors to try. I really like the St. Germaine color from MAC, but I don't own anything from MAC yet and heard this color was a close dupe. It is a very pretty blue-based pink/bubble-gummy color that is gorgeous on my fair, cool skin. Someone mentioned that it might look too young, but I am 37 and I think its extremely flattering and not too young. I wouldn't layer it a bunch and make it look too cakey, but one swipe was all I did and the color is very pigmented. It has not settled into any lines, drifted, bled, or streaked like some other reviews I read. The formula is very smooth and feels like nothing is on my lips but lip balm. Today I had the color on through errands, 90 degree heat, a soda, and a nap and it was still noticeable. I am very impressed with this brand and this color is gorgeous.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Instyle Fragrance
rated 5 of 5

Cheap, quality, and simple, I couldn't ask for more. I discovered these fragrances about a year ago in Walgreens just browsing and picked up the dupe for Estee Lauder's Sensuous. I was so impressed with the quality and lasting power of this copy that i went back and tried several other fragrances. Walgreens has sales on these occasionally and I found many different ones for buy one get one free! I picked up D & G Light Blue, Acqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani, Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan, Glow by JLo, Victoria Secret's Heavenly, Ed Hardy, Daisy by Marc Jacobs, Be Delicious by Donna Karan, Envy Me by Gucci, and Miss Dior Cherie by Dior. I wish they would make one for GIORGIO ARMANI Armani Code Pour Femme! The cost is around 11.99 for the 3.4 oz. bottles of spray cologne and 7.47 for the sheer body mist. These are in simple glass bottles for the cologne and plastic ones for the mist. Years ago I would never buy a dupe for fragrance because I never liked the artificial cheap smell they had, but these are so unbelievably good for dupes, I can't get over it. Reminds me of when i rediscovered WnW! My favorites are by far Light Blue (I picked up 2 bottles), and Acqua di Gio (2 bottles as well), and Heavenly by Victoria's Secret. I didn't like Be Delicious, but then again I smelled the real one later and didn't like it either. I also didn't like Daisy by Marc Jacobs, but again, the real one didn't appeal much either. In all, the dupes smell so much like the original that I can't tell them apart too well. I use them for everyday and use my real D & G Light Blue for times when I need the real thing.

Lip Gloss -Sinful - Sinful Colors Lipgloss
rated 5 of 5
Ferrishyn 7/1/2012 8:35:00 PM

Oh yes I would definitely buy this again! In fact, I am sorry now that I didn't grab more. I found this by accident today at Walgreens and picked up one in "Pucker Up Baby." It's a barbie/bubblegum pink and goes on like lip gloss but looks like lipstick kinda. Like a liquid lipstick. This color completely brightened my face and brought out the rosy color in my face and made my eyes look more hazel and weirdly my hair look richer. I assume its the color of course, but wow, I am impressed for $1.99! It is a little sticky, but nothing I would complain about for the price seriously. It is opaque which I love and it's not sparkly or metallic, just shiny. The staying power of this is really great as well, I applied once drank, eaten, and its still very much there. I don't have any complaints with this honestly, just praises and I am really sorry I didn't grab more in this color in case it disappears one day from Walgreens.

Blush -Bare Escentuals - Fruit Cocktail
rated 5 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/29/2012 9:37:00 PM

First off, I LOVE BE products and have been a loyal user for 10 years now. I hated blush previously until I was introduced to this one in particular. Fruit cocktail is so intimidating in the jar; its so bright, so pink, and so in your face, I figured no way would i ever wear that. I am fair skinned and cool toned. I am fairly-light in their foundation and mix with fair. I was shocked at how gorgeous this blush looked on me I knew it was my HG blush. It is super pigmented, so easy with the application. It's a very coraly-pink color that has a very slight sheen to it. It sort of reminds me of what my cheeks look like after I scrub them at night. It's a very flattering pink that I cannot live without. I have also used this on my lips (as with all BE products they are multi-use.) If I dip this in lip balm to my lips and then use it on my cheeks lightly, it is so very pretty. It looks natural and fresh.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Covergirl and Olay Tone Rehab 2 in 1 Foundation
rated 3 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/29/2012 9:29:00 PM

I have been trying to love this product for months now, but alas I have failed. It goes on so smooth and creamy and matches my skin so well, it's hard to not like it. With Olay inside and all the benefits of serum I wanted to love this. The problem I have continuously run into with it has been oily skin. I have normal skin, it is not dry nor oily all summer and into autumn. Winter and spring it is a little dry on the cheeks, but mostly from the air and I moisturize a lot. This foundation turn my face into a huge oil-slick, lol. Especially in the summer! two hours after I apply it, it is shining and I mean shining. I could get a good reflection off my face with how shiny it gets with this. It feels greasy and uncomfortable when it starts getting this oily and I get annoyed. Recently I tried putting bare essentials Mineral Veil over it to set it and that seems to help, but again, after a few more hours it becomes oily. This foundation seems to be aimed at very dry skin/mature skin, which is fine, so I wont be purchasing it again. The one I have still I will use in the winter when my cheeks are dry from the wind, otherwise its in my drawer til then.

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - Flawless Definition Curl & Lengthen
rated 4 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/26/2012 10:45:00 AM

I am not really impressed with this brand's mascaras, so I was not sure about this one when I received it in a kit. I have owned it for awhile now and I admit, I do like it. It does lengthen my lashes quite a bit and gives them a slight curl (nothing dramatic.) It does not clump on me and stays all day. The price is a bit steep for it though when i have run into other mascaras that do similar work for far less, but this is made of all natural ingredients, so I will forgive it. I would not buy this again because of the price tag, but it is a great mascara.

Lip Treatments -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm
rated 5 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/26/2012 10:39:00 AM

I was very skeptical about buying this when I first saw it back in early spring. The price was steep for a balm, but the concept was unique. I love balms and I love Dior's lip products, so I broke down and ordered it. I was not disappointed in the least. The heat & chemistry from your body adjusts the color of the balm to you uniquely. Mine came out a very flattering cool rosy-pink color. Basically it was the same color as the inside of my cheeks/gums (which is the most flattering color for everyone.) When I swiped it on my hand it changed color to more of a hot pink and on the tissue it turned pale pink, barely noticeable. My point? The chemistry does work with this balm, so it doesn't seem to be a gimmick (which I was concerned about.) I have owned this balm for about 3 months and it is permanently in my purse because I always grab for it. I would definitely buy again someday.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimmer in Nude Beach
rated 5 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/23/2012 10:21:00 PM

This by far my favorite BE eye shadow. It is a shimmery sandy-pink color that is just gorgeous on my pale/cool skin. It brightens my eye area and make me appear more awake and looks very natural. I have over a hundred shadows from BE (they're my fav makeup brand) and this is the ONLY shadow that I use a lot, almost daily. Use this with a dark brown liner and deep brown mascara and wow, it just looks very understated and gorgeous.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
rated 5 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/23/2012 10:15:00 PM

OMG! I am so in love with this trio! It is the PERFECT neutral eye colors! I bought this around the same time as I finally broke down and purchased the Naked Palette 2 from UD. Needless to say, I ended up using this palette more than UD. I found the colors to be similar and just as pigmented as UD. The lid and brow bone color are insanely pretty. The other WnW trio that is fairly similar to this one is Sweet as Candy, except that is more pink. This trio is very much for everyday use and is very buttery to apply and so pigmented. My favorite trio from WnW now.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - HD Nail Color in DVD
rated 5 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/23/2012 10:10:00 PM

I love all the colors in this line EXCEPT Hue... which I only picked up because it was on clearance in Ulta. Partially my fault because I am cool-toned and look awful in anything this gold, but wow I looked sickly. It was one of those colors that you put on and go, "Wow... this is definitively NOT my color." It was very very warm and overly yellow-gold. Besides that color, the others are very pretty and the formula is great. I wish they would bring back the Color Prisms instead of of this new version though, I liked the colors more.

Lipstick -Revlon - Revlon Matte-Pink Pout
rated 3 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/23/2012 9:54:00 PM

I was so excited about this color from all the rave reviews out there and grabbed the only one left at Ulta. I am pretty pale/cool-toned with very dark hair, so I expected this to look really flattering. Pros: It is a very forgiving pink Very smooth Opaque Cons: Too light Drying Looks cakey Make sure you put lip balm on before this because it made my lips chap horrendously. I have very pigmented lips, so I advise toning your lips down with foundation or lip liner before applying this lipstick. Overall, I was unimpressed and won't be repurchasing it, and furthermore I will avoid MAC's Snob as well if its so similar.

Lipstick -Revlon - Candy Pink Colorburst Lipstick
rated 4 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/23/2012 9:49:00 PM

I picked this up on a whim today in Ulta because I was disappointed in Revlon Pink Pout from a few days ago. This one looked more pigmented and more like a barbie/candy pink color. I love it. It is kinda sheer though, which I didn't anticipate from this line (that is known for pigmented colors), but it is the perfect candy pink color without shimmer, just shine. I think it would look best on the same tone as mine, cool tone because it seems to be a true blue based pink. It brightens my face like the Tickled Pink from L'Oreal that I LOVE, but lacks the shimmer.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection - Blue Had Me At Hello (737)
rated 5 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/23/2012 9:43:00 PM

I never wear blues mostly because they either don't show up or they are gaudy. I took a chance with this palette and I am in love. I used the top left brow bone color (metallic white) on the brow and the top left lid color which is a silvery blue color on me. I have very dark hair and fair skin/cool undertone. It brightened my hazel/brown eyes a lot! It looked so pretty and contrasted nicely against my skin tone and coloring. Like everyone said about the new WnW palettes, the formula was intensely smooth & buttery to blend/apply. Tons of pigment and wow! I love blues now!

Powder -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
rated 4 of 5
Ferrishyn 6/13/2012 12:53:00 AM

I have never been a huge fan of foundations. I always looked washed out with them and I never knew why. Call me stupid but I finally realized why, I was getting foundations with the base for warm. I tried this in cool and wow. There's a definite difference now. It looks natural and it matches perfectly. There is no cakey feeling or dry feeling to this foundation either, so I am impressed. It is a powder, so keep that in mind when trying it out, some people feel powders look dried out on the face. Overall a good product for the $7 it costs! I feel its similar to the other foundation I like a lot, Pur Minerals.
