Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
FeeFee34 4/23/2013 11:54:00 PM
I actually like this! It doesn’t smudge or flake, which are my main concerns. It’s true to its name and also doesn’t clump, although I haven’t encountered this problem with most mascaras. Like others, I start with a few layers using the long bristles, then flip the brush and build up to a more dramatic look using the shorter bristles. I like the small, rubber brush because it helps me control the wand and coat more lashes. I got completely sick of and disillusioned with the Lash Blast Fusion, which was smudging and too runny of a formula. I’m glad I found this instead, as it’s a cheap alternative. The bulky plastic lime green packaging is atrocious—not really sure what’s going on there, but I’ll take it.

Lip Gloss -Burt's Bees - Lip Shine
FeeFee34 4/23/2013 11:51:00 PM
I purchased this in Blush, a warm-toned pink. I think this is okay, but nothing amazing. It feels okay, lasts okay, smells okay (fruity), but is nothing at all special. I like tubes of lip gloss because they’re often smooth and moisturizing, but this is too glossy and un-pigmented for me. I don’t like shiny lips, I just like the smoothness of a gloss with a nice, natural pop of color, much less dramatic and more hassle-free than a lipstick. This is too slippery and light for me, and I prefer something that’s stickier to last longer and something heavier to sink in and moisturize lips. This feels nice but simply sits on top of my lips. I don’t recommend this product, as I’m disappointed in the consistency and lack of color. This makes lips glossy and that's about it--no color, no moisture, no SPF, so no repurchase.

Lip Gloss -BeneFit Cosmetics - Ultra Plush Lip Gloss
FeeFee34 4/23/2013 11:47:00 PM
I tried a mini version of the Dandelion shade as part of a kit. The lip gloss is slightly sticky, which I like because it lasts longer. Unlike other reviewers, I think the lasting power is average, not ridiculous. I like that it’s cushy and moisturizing, plus the sweet smell is a plus for me. I wouldn’t repurchase this because it’s too expensive for a simple lip gloss. I love tube lip glosses, but I see no difference in this product’s performance vs. a drug store brand. There’s nothing that stands out and makes me want to repurchase this over another brand. It feels nice, smells nice, and lasts decently, but there’s nothing that justifies spending extra for it.

Lipstick -Revlon - Color Stay Ultimate Suede Lipstick
FeeFee34 4/8/2013 12:21:00 AM
I have this in Front Row, which is a beautifully warm-toned pink with a hint of peach. I love the shade and hoped this would be a moisturizing tinted lip product. Nope. This has the WEIRDEST texture. It reminds me of a gel-based blush, NOT a lip product. It just sits on top of the lips, never sinking in. It dries and pills and tugs when being applied. It's okay over a lip balm but isn't useful, since the pigment isn't enough to show up over another clear balm. Useless. Drying. Doesn't feel good. Obviously not recommended.

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Full Cover Concealer

The more I try out other concealers, the more I realize what an absolute gem Estee Lauder Maximum Coverage is. I use concealer under my eyes, then mix it with moisturizer as a tinted moisturizer. EL's concealer definitely conceals better and far less product is needed per use. This product is decent, but it doesn't conceal as much as I'd like. I definitely prefer EL's concealer and won't repurchase this.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
FeeFee34 4/6/2013 10:19:00 AM
I used this is a lip tint, not a blush. And think it's very much not at all not a bit good. I like the clean, slightly blue-based pink tint, but for a tint it doesn't last long enough. Plus the product made my lips drier, which defeats part of the purpose of putting something on my lips. I also didn't like the slimy, wet sensation of applying this, then the drying feeling on my lips as it dried so I could put a balm over it. The tiny bottle ran out quickly, although I'm sure I missed out on the last bits due to the nail-polish-bottle-style applicator. I wouldn't recommend this as a lip product.

Lips -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart
FeeFee34 1/21/2013 2:22:00 AM
Beautiful color. Nice, moisturizing formula. Problem? Waaaaaay too pigmented. This is great if you're looking for a moisturizing lipstick. However, I prefer tinted lip balms. I like to trick people into thinking my lips are a particular color and pretend that I don't wear anything on my lips. I would love this if it had 1/2, maybe even 1/3 of the color payoff, but as it is it's way too bright for me.

Highlighters -NARS - Illuminator in Copacabana
FeeFee34 1/17/2013 12:18:00 AM
NARS, you disappoint. So I really want to like NARS. I want to buy and have and use NARS products. I want to love them like other people love them. But there’s just nothing I like! The Sephora SA recommended this product over Albatross as a highlighter for me, saying that it would be easier to use, rather than packing on Albatross and hoping that it shows up for its magical highlighting powers. I’m very pale and warm-toned, so something snow/paper/white-out white is simply the same color as my skin, just about. And, sure enough, this product does NOT show up on my skin. At all. I can pack it on and get some glitter out of it, but it wears off quickly. As for mixing it in with my foundation or moisturizer . . . seems pointless. I notice no difference. NARS, please produce a product that actually does something on my skin. I returned Cococabana.

Lips -Nivea - A Kiss Of Shine Natural Glossy Lip Care
FeeFee34 1/17/2013 12:16:00 AM
There used to be a similar product in a shorter, wider container. This product is good as well, though. I like that it applies smoothly, but the formula is still thick, so that it lasts on the lips. The taste and smell is a little too strong, however, and I wish there was more of a pink tint. Otherwise, convenient and effective.

Lotions/ Creams -EO - Everyone Lotion Coconut and Lemon
FeeFee34 12/29/2012 9:15:00 PM
This is thin and light, definitely not moisturizing enough for dry skin or through the wintertime. I wanted to try it out because it’s cheaper than my standby, Alba, but nothing, it seems, can compare. You get what you pay for, and I don’t recommend this light lotion.

Other -Crest - 3D Professional Effects White Strips

I get suckered into these every time. I’ve bought a total of 4 or 5 boxes and used them over the course of around 3 years. Am I ever super wowed? Not really. I drink a lot of coffee, and, rather than fighting my caffeine addiction (okay, okay, my coffee-flavored milk and cream addiction—seriously, it’s just liquid candy for adults), I try to justify that third (and 4th . . . 5th) cup by using these. I notice the biggest difference after just a few days of use, but ultimately the effects aren’t super pronounced and don’t last. After my last bout with this product, I don’t think I’ll purchase again. I left them on for 45 minutes instead of the 30 specified in the instructions and my teeth absolutely ACHED. It was painful to go to sleep. And, worse, for DAYS afterward I was super sensitive to textures. Using an envelope opener made me shudder. I had to build boxes at work, and the sensation of cardboard scraping against cardboard made me want to die. It was a very unpleasant experience, plus these are pricey and not worth the minimal effects. I can’t blame the product, as I did leave them on longer than I was supposed to, but this was because 30 minutes does nothing in terms of whitening for me.

Treatments -Living Proof - Restore Mask
FeeFee34 12/29/2012 9:12:00 PM
Best deep conditioner I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried many, including Fekkai, Sebastian, Joico, and Biolage. I always thought these were interchangeable and didn’t make a huge difference, but this definitely makes my hair softer and more moisturized. Ideally, I’ve that you’re supposed to apply to damp hair, wrap in a towel or shower cap, and blast with hot air, as heat makes the air shaft open and allows the heat to penetrate, but I am lazy. Before I shower, I make my hair damp and apply this to the ends. I leave it on for about half an hour and wrap my hair up into a bun. I also leave it on for the duration of my shower (on the pretense that the steam and heat might help the product penetrate), then shampoo and condition like normal. I know most people simply use deep conditioner once a week or so in place of their regular conditioner, but years and years ago I read in Allure that they should be applied and left on before the shower, so this is how I’ve always done it. This is the only product I’ve tried that provides a noticeable difference in my fine, curly, damaged hair that hates me and refuses to be healthy and grow longer.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Grapeseed oil
FeeFee34 12/29/2012 9:08:00 PM
I may or may not have tried this simply because I read that Emma Stone uses it. Oh, and it was also cheaper than the sweet almond oil I initially wanted to purchase. However, this is WAY too greasy for me. I thought this would be okay for night time on my dry skin, but I prefer almond oil, jojoba oil, Vitamin E, and just about anything else to this. No, no, no.

Lotions/ Creams -Trader Joe's - Coconut Body Butter
FeeFee34 12/29/2012 9:05:00 PM
Wonderful! I never buy body butters, as I prefer a good, heavy lotion in a pump or squeeze tube, but this product is my exception. I love the super-moisturizing formula and use it on my dry, dry hands at work. Without this product my knuckles were cracking and bleeding they were so dry from the winter weather. I love that it hydrates but doesn’t leave my hands greasy or feeling like they’re covered in lotion. My hands do still get dry, though, so I’m giving it a 4/5. I don’t mind the smell at all. It’s actually not that off from pure coconut oil, but definitely sweeter. The smell doesn’t’ linger long on my skin, so it’s not a big issue. I will definitely repurchase and recommend this for dry skin. It’s effective and soaks right in.
